Once upon a time there was a cat who lived in a garden, down by the shed where the daffodils grew every spring.
Daffodil Yellow
Where daffodils grew in clusters. oh, he loved daffodils. his favorite flowers. he was going to pick some for her. for adelaide. his mother wandered over to him.
Special Delivery
The daffodils were watching him. their golden, trumpet-like centers focusing on as dozens of empty eye sockets. not the roses or tulips or tiger lilies or anything else. just the daffodils. he backed up several steps to be sure.

Sitting in the daffodils and tulips, never feeling useless. so alive, at the wonderful age of five. full of life, magic everywhere. everyone you meet, with so much to share. dreams of wolf life, so vivid and surreal.
