Chapter Twelve: Last Day on Earth, Part Two

“So then Outsider seeing double?" The smug smile in front of Finn's face, backed up and the Outsider was not surprised when he saw his own face looking back at him, the smug look and smile staring back. It was almost creepy in the sort of clone way, Finn watched as he felt the grip on his neck tighten, the wind blowing through his hair and the smugness of his clone increase.

“So then you've gotten me, now what are you going to do. Hurt my friends with that, they know about you, hurt the city, they know you're a false image of me as well, so then sir, what will you do with me?" Finn struggled to put those words out as the nanobot tightened his grip on his neck, the air rushing out and Finn finding himself with a bit less air.

“Hyperventilate shark, you'll find it will extend your life if only the one I was close to had such a privilege. The idea that I haven't killed you right now is pushing on my very soul, but I want to torture you for what you did, not torture your friends." The reverse image said, a sly and sneaky version of Finn. The shark was almost impressed with the words coming out of his own mouth, albeit one of a psycho nanobot.

Still Finn struggled, his breaths becoming more of heaving and hoeing as less air passed between his throat and the blood to his brain was slowly but surely being cut off from the roots. Finn struggled and tried to keep control over himself, but he started to panic. Emergency thoughts entered his head and his body started to freak out.

His mortal penchant for keeping himself alive, activated and like that he started to pull as much air in even though it wouldn't travel through. Evil Finn smiled as he clamped down on the throat of the shark, feeling the air push against his hand, he smiled and knew that he was robbing life from the Outsider.

“Who are you?" Finn begged to know with his last gulps of air coming out the other end. The nanobot smiled and then let his grip go, Finn fell to the ground feeling his knees impact the ground and feeling the shock travel up his spine, it was all so surreal. And then the nanobot turned around.

Finn sipped at the air, even as his body cried for it. His knees gave out and the Outsider landed on the ground, his will to even stand running out. Looking forward at the nanobot Finn knew he had to know that answer, and thus the nanobot turned around looking at the mesa and the night sky.

The skin of the nanobot changed color randomizing almost and jutting out like goosebumps in waves as he walked forward and the settled on an appeared and then he turned around, Finn felt shame through his body.

“Beg for your life Outsider, tell me why you had to live but he had to die, why did you allow Erick to die on that day?" And as he turned around, the face of the face seemingly transformed. The features turning into thousands of triangles and flipping up and jutting out as they changed colors.

Even before the triangles sealed into a new form, Finn could see the face that frowned on him. The red dragon looked down at him in shame, and he started to walk forward, the transformation spreading throughout his body. His armor turning into a letterman jacket, the innocent face of a mortal looking down on the shark in shame.

“So then Outsider, tell me why you did this to me. Why did you cause this to happen, I was a normal mortal before and now a nanobot, who shall I blame for this occurrence?" Steam blasted out of his nose and putting his foot on Finn's chest, the dragon rolled the shark onto his back and then pushed down.

“You gave me this face, and you allowed me these powers. Consider yourself to blame for this and consider yourself to blame for all the pain I have caused. I ask, would it have been worth it for this pain if you allowed yourself to die instead of Erick?" Joss pushed down, even with his normal appearance his body still hide the nanotechnology and Finn felt the full effect of that as his lungs were nearly crushed.

“I couldn't do that Isaac, Erick allowed himself to die. He chose his death, he used his own energy to activate the blast and he had complete knowledge of what he was doing." As he was pressed for answers, Finn screamed out his excuse in pain, Joss frowned down on him and looked at the shark, wondering what sort of idiot he was dealing with.

“And could you have not used your own powers, used your electricity instead of Erick's brain. They say you aren't selfish that you would sacrifice yourself for the city but for another Outsider you didn't? That sickens me, and you are in my eyes the scum of the Earth." Joss screamed down, Finn groaned as he felt his breath knocked out of him, all he could manage was another groan.

“Well then you know what we do with scum?" Joss reached down and pulling his foot off Finn's chest, instead grabbed him by the leg. Pulling the shark up into the air, he turned his body around and threw the shark. Finn became fully alert and screamed as his body impacted the rock, the material sinking in under the power.

“We clean up the scum, you don't get what we are trying to do. If we can all be connected, we can all understand each other. No more conflict, no more dangerous wars or stupid people, everyone would understand each other and no one would be angry. I am only trying to make this planet a better place, yet you stop us at each turn!" Joss looked at Finn in the eye and screamed at him, the shark fell to the ground and looked forward.

“You see that doesn't mean awful lot to me coming from you, when your boyfriend was killed by the same organization that you joined. They're changing your mind Joss, you might be free from the overlord, but the nanobots are still working towards one goal and they are making it look like they are the good people." Finn countered back and retorted, Joss frowned, raising his hand and firing a blast.

Finn raised his hand and then when it was covered in electricity deflected the blast, instead the blue energy stream curving up into the mesa and dislodging some rocks. Finn started to walk forward as they hit the ground behind him, the sound of them hitting interrupting the silence of the wind.

“You are all talk, each and every one of you. You rarely fight and when you do, you fight till someone retreats. If you really wanted no one to die, Owlman would have died the night you met him, Flashpoint and Frostbite would have died in the rock cave. Nano-Hart on the interstate, Nano-One in the school gym, and yet each time they had enough time to fall back." Joss smiled as Finn frowned and then the shark took action.

Suddenly Finn shinesparked forward, his hand grasping onto Joss's face and an electric current charging through his arm. Joss froze in place, shivering and letting out tiny noises of fright as he stood. Finn strengthen his grip and pushed down, he could feel the fear of the nanobot from a mile away.

“You wish for us to finish you off, how good that was what I intended to do and you played right into that trap. So then I won't even let you beg, instead…" Finn suddenly screamed out in pain as Joss blasted energy out of his mouth, Finn felt his grip slip and he pulled his hand back, his palm was nearly burned. Instead Joss took the moment again.

Quickly the nanobot spun, rising his foot and slamming it into Finn, He spun around and then grabbed the shark by the neck, Finn screamed as he felt his body completely stop in Joss's grip. Finn felt the nanobot waste no time, strengthening his grip quicker and quicker.

“So then we end up back here Outsider, shame I really wanted to fight you in a one on one fight, but it seems even you are beyond the range of the obvious. Too bad, I might have enjoyed watching you die a slow death on the battle field, but I will make sure yours is a quick and painless one, you're too crafty to have the previous." And then Joss holding him up in the air, laughed a bit and slammed Finn down on the ground. Looking up into the sky as suddenly the night was erased by a blue expanding ball of energy from Joss's hand, Finn knew it was over.

And then cracking into the air as loud as thunder but without the raw power of a storm, Joss turned back and was stuck. Massive streaks of tracer marks flew in the air and in the distance a jeep with a Gatling gun approached. Joss screamed in pain as massive amounts of nanobots were blasted off his body, the little black dots scurrying through the sand and back on his legs.

Even while he was screaming Joss held onto his energy, the nanobot ignored the other threat and turned around. Finn watched as the stream of bullets were aimed down and then like that Joss's hand exploded. The energy disposed of itself flying off in all sorts of directions. Finn took a breath of relief, and watched as Joss glared down.

“Well then looks like you won't be able to finish me after all, shame I was looking forward towards death, try better next time." Finn gloated as he stood up and looked at the nanobot. He could see how much the defeat was weighing on the nanobots soul, but the jeep was approaching and it looked like its ammo wasn't running out.

So Josh decided to live another day, and like that the nanobot teleported away, disappearing in a flash of blue light. Finn smiled and let out a breath of relief, pushing his hands against the ground he looked up and saw the jeep, little figures dressed in camo inside the truck.

Finn groaned and figured they only wanted him alive, he put his hands up even as much as it hurt him. The Outsiders weren't able to convince them that Lighting Bolt didn't blow up the school and now they were coming for revenge, Finn knew he would either be shot on sight or he would be taken back, he hoped for the later but prepared for the former.

“Hold it right their Lighting Bolt you are needed in Carson City." One of the soldiers screamed as they jumped off the top of the jeep, the car shutting down and the highlights dimming. Instead the militants turned the flashlights on their guns on and pointed them down on the Outsider as they circled him.

“Ok, let's not get to excited, we all might be under his command but only I get to show him my gun." And the from the jeep, a final voice rang out. Finn was relieved to hear it. Isaac exited from the front cabin and stood on onto the desert sand. Walking forward, Isaac parted the militants and looked down on Finn.

“Good to see you." Finn responded as Isaac activated his powers and helped the shark up. Finn looked up and then at the platoon of ten men around him, they all raised their hands up to salute and put their guns down. “And good to see all of you, I'm sorry for your loses."

“Here you should see this." Isaac reached into his pocket and handed Finn a flat coaster like plate. And then it lit up in a blue light from the base, a hologram formed, it was a sharply dressed military man. General Maverick stood on the plate, and it rotated as to face, Finn's.

“When I received a message from Erick after his death, I realized that it was all the more likely I too would join the other side in the coming months. When you receive this Finn it is all too likely the city is or about to enter madness. With this I have also awarded to you, the best Gatling Gun Jeep and enough ammo to feed her and ten of my best, the rest will be transferred." Maverick explained from beyond the grave, Finn looked over and around this was a gift, this was to defend the city.

“And I intend that you use these men to the best of their ability and use them to defend the peace of this city, consider that carrying on my memory. Let them fight and they will stay with you, take care of them and they will take care of you and your team, take care of Michelle for me." And then the message cut out, Finn was disappointed for a second that the last could not happen but he still could save the city.

“So then men, let's avenge your master and stop these god dam nanobots, let's do this." Finn command as he walked out of the circle of solders, Isaac following him. Getting into the driver's seat, the men got into the backseat and some on top the jeep.

“So what did he give you?" Finn asked as he shifted the car and put his foot down onto the gas pedal. Isaac smiled a bit and then giggled. Finn looked over slightly worried now. “Should I worry about what will happen to my drinks?"

“Oh don't worry you'll find out, but first things first, we're going to see the Kagens, go past that road and you can get to the lake quickly." Isaac pointed through the desert and Finn looked through, passing the mesa he saw the mountain and turned towards it going off the road.

Driving up to the camp, Finn watched as he found an overlook through the forest, something was happening. He saw a group of Kagens, all looking down on the desert, bring the jeep to a stop and then parking it, a few of the Kagens noticed, one still looked down with a pair of binoculars. As soon as he got out of the car, Finn saw Bright. And then he felt the energy, walking forward, he commanded the soldiers to stay back.

“Hello Zonate, good to see you, must have waited a while. Allowed my son to grow up on his own, at least when you mess about the timeline do it right." Finn walked forward and passing Bright with no regret, approached the Kagen with the binoculars. The Kagen turned around, while he looked different it still was Zonate.

“Sorry the portal might have killed me, but I was only frozen, my regeneration off put for a few years. I woke up in a moratorium a few years ago, only watching I saw that you two had become better parents then I could. Luckily nanobots are out of my brain." Zonate spoke, both of them knew who was to blame here and in this case, it wasn't the Kagen. Zonate smiled and looked down on the city.

“And I won't hold it against you or the Kagens, or anyone else or anyone, just next time try to do better with your body. As for you Bright, keep control over the Kagens and keep your grip tight, do not let them go and do not let them go completely wild." Finn turned around, stopping, raising his foot and turning around and then facing Bright. “Bright if you fail to do so, with in logic you will be the first to face punishment."

Isaac watched as Finn walked over to the outlook, he watched as a second car pulled up. It was near silent, not even most of the soldiers noticed. Isaac walked over and the car door opened. A singular woman dressed in a black and covering most of her face in aviators walked out.

“And who are you?" Isaac walked over, the woman turned her face over and watched Isaac. As soon as he reached a foot from the car, the woman raised her hand, Isaac stopped.

“Stop, I am Agent Edison, Department of Secret Temporal Issues, US Government." The woman held up a meter in her hand and looked around the area seemingly towards the Kagens and then back at Isaac. “Just stand back taking some readings, strange things are happening. Tell me what was your childhood like?"

“Well you know, lost my legs, could never really understand tag and seek, failed kindergarten for understanding negative numbers and discovered the universal constant of gravity at a young age." Isaac responded as he watched the girl hold up the device to the tree.

“Thank you, personally I would go for the youngest and smallest, that's what I would do. But thank you, the government is confused and this appears to be a point of temporal contention. Which is strange because we still haven't invented time travel, so I will be in contact with your team later." The woman said as she disappeared back into her car and then drove off.

“Strange who was that?" Finn walked back into the jeep and looked at the car as it drove away. Isaac turned back and walked back into the car, as he looked at Finn who seemingly didn't understand what was happening. “You go on all sorts of adventures when I look away don't you."

“I do, that was temporal agent Edison, nice girl will contact us later, government girl seems like a party." Isaac explained, Finn could only nod and then he started the car again, glaring at Bright and Zonate as they drove away. “She's strange."

And then Finn received a text…

Driving back into Carson City, Finn looked through the streets and tried to find the source of the problem. The text said that there was a mass of generation ones flooding he streets and nearly starting to attack people. Looking through the streets Finn saw nothing, he looked through and tried to find them.

“Shouldn't there be people out on the streets doing people things and stuff, the streets seem quiet again." Isaac commented as he looked out the window and tried to find somebody anybody. But it looked like no one was around, and it looked like the city was empty.

“I know, sometimes I think the people of this city have a sense. When shits about to go down they know when to stay inside, and right now is one of those moments. They know to stay safe, so we just have to find our place." Finn drove forward, above him the solider on the Gatling gun kept his finger on the trigger, ready to fire at a moment's notice.

And then driving forward, the sewer grates started to shake. Finn knew the nanobots were calling him, they wanted him to go to a certain place and the shark would do such an oblige them. Which is when he arrived at the Carson City Hyperloop Station, through the street somewhat near the edge of town, a large almost rainbow colored pipe was suspended with metal legs above the streets and connected to the Mutli-level facility.

“They want us here, they want to either escape themselves through here and want to say good bye or they want to take us with them. From this point they could go nearly anywhere in the US." Isaac commented as he looked out, besides the metallic and brick structure of the station, the park was one of the city's nicest and surrounded with skyscrapers meant it was nearly covered in shade for the most part. Looking out the entire area was eerily empty. “I don't like this, this is far too much a trap."

“We've all realized this, but this is our fighting moment. This is where we show them what sort of metal we are made up off, we won't let them hit us back. We are going to show them." Finn then parked the jeep next to the park, a hundred yards or so close to the station and then opened the door. “Of course two of you stay in the jeep, if she gets bad get everyone you can out."

“Rest of you, take a look around and find some cover, we'll need that." Finn commanded and the soldiers followed his instruction. The eight soldiers looked nervous as they walked into the shaded park and some took cover behind concrete benches and others behind large water fountains.

“And for us, the station." And then as soon as Finn turned to walk towards the station they appeared. Like a flood nanobots ran out of the sewers and up through the streets, Finn watched in disbelief as the four streets surrounding the station and park were surrounded. And to cap it all off, Joss stood right in front of Finn.

“This is our full force, we are freed thanks to Pavlock's little formula, so we have made him as powerful as me." Joss then teleported out of the way and revealed instead the orca, covered in metal, blue energy lines coursing through his veins, the nanobot smiled seeing Finn.

“No not you too Pavlock." Isaac backed up and looked around, they were surrounded like hell. The soldiers shivered in their spots as they looked around waiting for their command, this was like nothing else. They were surrounded on all sides, the chanting, the sound of metal hitting of itself filled Finn's ears.

And then the fight began, Isaac ran forward and throwing his arms forward before the gen ones could start firing, a large part in front of him flew into the sky. A lot of them hitting into the skyscraper behind and cracking the windows. Isaac looked on his work and the backed up.

Quickly Finn took action, throwing blasts of electricity into the crowd. Looking forward, he had to act on this quickly. Throwing more and more, nanobots jumped out of the way as they started to crowd in. Finn felt them grab at him and throw energy balls at him. Just barely the shark threw his entire body out of the way, as nanobots ran into the square and surrounded him.

Finn threw his hands forward and then slashed backwards, electricity flying from his hands and knocking back the crowd. He needed to do something quickly, raising his hands and nearly hissing at the nanobots, they backed up in fear. And then he took the opportunity.

Running forward, Finn threw a punch forward. Thunder crackled through the square and a massive bolt of lightning flew through the crowd. Nanobots fell to the ground and Finn smiled as he felt his hair stand on end. Isaac shivered feeling the goosebumps around him and the smell of ozone.

“Come on boys, we have a war to fight!" Isaac commanded the soldiers as they took cover behind the benches. Seeing them do nothing was enough, running past them he pushed his arms forward and knocked a group back.

“Fight for your nation boys!" Isaac grabbed a nanobot and threw him into the air, sending him flying into the nearby skyscraper. Ducking Isaac, put his hands on the floor and around him gravity increased. The nanobots nearly hit the floor as their bodies became weighted, the solders saw this and started to fire at them.

“Good Job!" Isaac looked around and then he saw another jeep approach from a distance. From the distance, he could see the black and blue scales of a dragon and metallic armor of a komodo. Ross and Barry had arrived, quite quickly Ross threw himself forward, and then a sword extended from his hand.

Nanobot pieces flew into the sky like confetti as Ross started his way through the crowd, Isaac turned back. One side was still unopposed, running back, gathering a gravity wave as he passed the soldiers, the shark threw it forward. Even light was dragged, a distorted wave of energy passing through the nanobots holding them back and knocking them to the ground.

“Crowd management!" Finn yelled to him across the battlefield. “Good job, hold them back!"

“I know, love you!" Isaac yelled back and he turned and prepared to troll with the nanobots again. Barry smashed a few nanobot heads together and then threw a few more. “Now then mates let's play hard ball."

Isaac ran forward with his hands outstretched, a tiny push out. As he ran through the crowd, the nanobots suddenly found themselves unable to touch Isaac. And then the shark screamed. The tiny force became big and like that a wave blasted out, floating up like a wave pool the nanobots were thrown to the sky. “Come on then I need a better challenge then that."

“Oh don't worry there is one coming." And then like that Finn turned his head, Pavlock arrived. Through the near empty field, the nanobot started to run full throttle at Finn. The shark raised his hand but then a metallic blob landed in the middle and blocked him. Ross raised out of it, a metallic sword blocking the Gen Two.

Quickly Pavlock raised both of his hands, metal changed and his hands started to creak. Out of both hands a blade, blue energy line running down the middle formed. Little appendages were raised out, they twitched a bit. Pavlock quickly raised them.

“Take this!" Pavlock spun his body around and thrusted his hands down. Just in time, Ross raised a second hand and blocked it, a sword rising just in time. The two of them screamed at each other and then Ross kicked forward.

“Oh that's dirty!" Pavlock dragged his hands back and with his body leaning wholly to the left, ran forward. Ross formed a shield with his right hand and blocked the strike, and then running forward, bashed Pavlock back. The nanobot stumbled back before jumping up and then starting to run backwards.

“Let's see if you can handle this!" Pavlock put his hands back and suddenly they glowed. Ross eyes looked around as suddenly a blue glow was joined by a green glow and another and another. Looking forward, Pavlock was joined by ten gen ones with the same swords.

“Really, well then let's see how well I can do this." Ross ran forward and into the crowd of Pavlock. Quickly he ducked a one slashed ahead, he slashed back and then jumped over a low slash. Landing on the head of a nanobot he looked down and jumped off, pushing that one to the ground.

“Come on your nanobots you should be my enemies!" Ross yelled, as he landed he looked forward. Quickly he leaned back and threw his momentum forward, just barely he slid under a sword. Twisting back up he stabbed that one and then looked forward at Pavlock, slashing forward, the dragon's hit off the others and this repeated.

“Just like in the old days." Pavlock yelled, Ross threw his swords forward, always striking. And then just in a reflection in Pavlock's skin he saw it.

“In the old days, they fought with honor!" Ross turned around and kicked the nanobot back. Pulling himself onto that leg, he leaned forward and then stabbed the nanobot. Slashing around his foot, he took out another and returned to Pavlock. “This is dishonorable."

“But not as dishonorable as the treaty between the Kagens and the Riftwalkers you made." Pavlock commented as he slashed down in an X. Ross threw himself back and nearly landed in a crowd of nanobots. “Speaking of which."

Ross looked back and saw the marching army. Quickly more energy blasted out and arced into the nanobots. Finn turned and he saw Basil. The shargon grabbed his sword and threw it into a nanobot. Reaching forward Basil teleported out and then threw it again, the Riftwalker smiled as he saw it strike in the middle of a metallic body, green fluid leaking out.

“Don't worry Cavalry arrived!" Basil landed next to Finn and slashed forward with the blade before putting back. Instead he pulled out two guns, the nanobots were blasted back with a real bullet and energy bullet. Basil jumped forward and aimed downwards, hitting a switch on his guns, he suddenly blasted rapid fire down into the crowd. Landing on the other side of the street, the Riftwalker smiled as a massive line of nanobots fell to the ground.

“Well done, I think I have more still!" Finn yelled as he shocked the head of a nanobot and then kicked through one. Turning around he backed up as he took a breath in, just leaning back. “Take this!"

And then slamming his body forward, a massive shockwave blasted forward, nanobots were stuck and fell to the ground as they shorted out. Basil looked over and nodded, putting his hand back and firing at a nanobot sneaking up. The shargon opened his wings and flew onto the hyperloop tunnel.

Basil opened fire again, while other Riftwalkers worked to take down the nanobots. Finn smiled as quickly it looked like they managed to take down five percent of the nanobot army. Yet still there was much more, and it looked like the nanobots were adapting quickly. Looking back at the army tank, the Gatling gun seemed to be doing less and less.

From a block away, it looked like hell and Zonate knew that. He smiled and grabbed his phone. Looking forward as the Riftwalkers joined the battle, perhaps for once last second a nanobot on his brain took its effect and he opened the line straight to Octavius.

“Its war down here, I can see it the Riftwalkers are fighting with the nanobots against the Outsiders. No wait some of them have seen me, they're calling me out saying we broke the treaty because what I did under the nanobots!" And then Zonate shut the conversation down. Running back, Zonate smiled. This was what he wanted, war, even without Tidus, he was sure of his side.

Barry put his hand forward and then formed an energy weapon. Blasting at the nanobots he looked around and saw all of them.

“Get him, he's the betrayer!" One gen one cried out, Barry looked down at his hand, his blue lines did give away what happened very easily. Suddenly it was a crowd, Barry fired at them as they jumped on him. They all started to surround him, the komodo felt more and more surrounded, he fired at them.

“Stop this, I'm warning all of you!"

Even as one fell off, another took its place, forming a chamber of nanobots. Barry was stuck even as he fired at them. Looking around, he fired another blast, the beam stuck one instantly yet it failed to fall off. Barry tried to move, but they all grasped at his hands

“Get off me, I will unleash my power!" Barry yelled out, and then the nanobots pushed at him more. Hitting him and firing energy at his back. Barry screamed out in pain as he felt his knees collapse, he fell and felt the nanobots fall on top of him. With his hands shaking, he knew this was it, he couldn't let his power go.

“Just do it, don't worry you can't be stuck again. You are wholly good and you don't have to worry about anything." And then through the crowd, a voice. Barry turned his head left and right but couldn't see shit. He heard Erick's voice. The Outsider tried to push forward, trying to see out of the pile of nanobots.

“Brother, don't go, please don't go!" Barry yelled out as he pushed out his hand and then he felt his back start to fall. He took a breath and then knew he had to release his safety locks. Focusing he felt his encounter suit unlock and like that, an explosion.

Barry smiled as he felt the nanobots fly into the air around him. All of them landing around, he was freed from the bulky exterior of the encounter suit. His sleek metal body, lined with rivets and shined like new, exposed to the air. The komodo dragon put his foot up and he started to float, energy flowing from his body as his eyes turned red.

“Evil is not dark and I am better than all of you… nanobots." Barry looked down on those of the same around him and then put his hand down, the fight did not last long. The nanobots around stood no chance, the dragon floated around a blue aura following him.

And then suddenly Finn stopped, he heard marching again. It couldn't have been, he turned and saw the Kagens. They were here. A line of sharks, dragons, owls and warriors, all of them covered in head to toe in their red armor. Octavius, Zonate and Bright all with capes flowing.

“Riftwalkers how dare you accuse us of breaking the treaty when you are fighting against the Outsiders!" Octavius cried out, apparently not caring about the battle around him. Finn raised his hand but before he could cry out, suddenly nanobots grabbed at him and pulled him down.

“Oh really, you have, trying to raise a warrior, you are betrayers and you are luckily we haven't stuck you back. You defied the treaty." Ignatius walked towards the Kagens and Riftwalkers gathered behind him, as for the Outsiders the battle stopped. Ross noticed and Pavlock grabbed at him, nanobots grasping at him and pulling him down. Barry yelled out as his mouth was covered, nanobots grasping at him and pulling him down.

“Oh really, do you want a war!" Octavius yelled out, and Finn knew all of his work was lost. He felt his heart crumble, he pushed himself forward, he was right behind the Kagens and the gathering Riftwalkers, this could be bad. He needed to escape. Running into the square, nanobots grabbed his feet and hands and pulled him down.

“No don't do it, they want you to fight and they want a war!" Finn yelled in defiance even as the nanobots pulled him down and covered his mouth. Yet no one noticed. And watching, Finn saw as Bright stepped forward, Basil joined his brothers on the other side as well.

Citizens from their buildings screamed and then suddenly Carson City erupted in light, a massive wave of energy blasted out. Riftwalkers all moving their hands in unison. A massive wave of energy moved forward, as tall as the buildings almost growing out of the street itself.

Bright stepped forward and put his hands forward, Zonate and Octavius joined him, putting their hands forward and blocking the first blast. Nanobots let out war cries and threw energies blast out joining the fight. Finn watched as Kagens and Riftwalkers escaped the blast and went on the adjacent street and started to fight.

“I'm sorry." Finn pushed a button in his ear and activated his coms unit. He sent it out to everyone as the battle started. “And this is democracy and logic end, with cries or war and energy blasts, after all we did."

Finn leaned back into the nanobots, he was defeated. He started to laugh, even as the sound of energy blasts flying out at sonic speeds flew overhead and the war cries of both immortal races took over the city. Finn laughed, finally seeing it all burn down. He watched as the energy pillar blasted into office buildings, the floors getting set ablaze.

And then it fell, both races ran forward and energy blasts flew forward. Yet the nanobots held on tight. Ross and Barry were turned to watch the war, as the nanobots crowded them into the square. The sounds of citizens screaming and the immortals yelling and firing energy burnt into their ears.

Basil ran forward, ignoring logic and everything he learned from the Outsiders, drawing his sword and getting ready to cover it in blood. As he swung forward, his opponent was known.

“What a nice day for a battle." Bright yelled out as with his hand straight out he deflected the sword, Basil pulled his sword back and swung it again. Energy covered the sword again, this time Bright calmly ducked under the swing and put his hand right against Basil's chest. “Strange only one heart."

“You're crazy." Basil yelled as suddenly Bright blasted, with smile of a complete breakdown. Basil flew back, his leather jacket burned on the collar. Looking at it, he separated his sword bringing out two smaller but equally sized swords. Basil swung forward and looked at Bright, the shark simply dodged them, rolling out of the way. And then Finn felt his attention pulled elsewhere, the nanobots seemingly done with the battle grabbed him by the arms and started to walk.

“Let me go, you need to end this!" Finn yelled to empty and deaf ears. As he was pulled forward, the chain of nanobots ended at the station. As he approached the large metal building, nanobots lined up on both sides of the proceeding and clapped.

And then Finn watched as he entered the station, the nanobots carried him up the stairs. He looked around, the Hyperloop station, a glass ceiling let sunlight blast down on him. And in front of him were the tracks, suddenly as the nanobots stopped, Finn was thrown down on the ground.

The nanobots held him on the ground, along with the other Outsiders. Finn felt them drain his powers, Isaac was helpless as well. Barry and Ross, and Iren as well. He looked over at his friends and shivered. Finn felt agony and fear.

“Well, well, well, here we are." And then teleporting into the station, Joss arrived, he had a smile on his face. He looked different, he looked happy, he had a complete smile on his face. “And my master was against this, strange this wouldn't have happened if Iren had smashed the drive in a different place."

“The hell do you mean this is my fault!" Iren lashed out and then a nanobot pushed her down. She groaned as she looked over to Joss, bearing her fangs and letting her claws show.

“Well that was a hybrid hard drive, it has a bit of a solid state drive in it. Non-mechanical, wasn't smashed and it only took a second to apply it like a virus and now most of the nanobots follow my rule." Joss explained as he walked forward and bent down, putting his hand on Finn's chin he smiled as he rubbed it and then looked at the others. He walked over and ran his hand through Isaac's hair.

“This was of my plan, and you all worked into it. A little fight erupts and the Riftwalkers just so happen to see it and come, while Zonate is still under my control and just so happens to bring the Kagens with a few reservations against the Riftwalkers, and like that the first battle will start." Joss explained as he smiled and looked around.

“We will have fun with your husband once we find him and transform him." Joss looked over to Ross.

“You leave him alone; I will rip you to pieces. You're a stupid mechanical calculator!" The dragon screamed out, Joss only laughed looking at the nanobots that drained him off the power that could have saved him at this point. Instead they were powerless Outsiders. And he could have his fun.

“So then let the war happen, no matter what my master wants or wishes, this city will turn to hell. Finn you are the man who sold the world." Joss once again turned towards Finn and then smiled, a nanobot then walked over and handed him a gun. Joss looked at it and loaded it. He pointed it forward.

“So then you can live, if you can escape the nanobots. Once this little confrontation is over they will let you out until a certain time. After that have fun, but respect them. Because you should welcome your new AI overlords. Welcome to singularity. But to enforce that with your little minds, one of you will have to die." Joss then looked around at the five in front of him, and he turned.

“Finn, Isaac, Iren, Ross and Barry, are your names. Those helped with finding the school, but it will help with one of your grave makers." Joss smiled, Finn shook as sweat ran down his face. Looking over to Isaac, the shark was shaking. Joss pointed the gun at Finn's head before walking forward.

“So then are we in piss-pants city, you fuckers, all of you, one of you will die and I will choose who. Maybe it will be my enemy." Joss looked over to Finn and the shark shivered.

“Or maybe the one who would hurt him the most." Then to Isaac.

“The mother of his child." Iren, the tiger growled back and Joss laughed as he walked along, gun to their heads.

“Or the betrayer." Joss pressed the gun long and hard against the Barry's temple.

“Or maybe even the one you all like." Joss then turned and walked back to the middle, right by the track. Finn just wished for a second, a train would fly by and hit him. Smash him through the glass and let them escape, but it seemed like that would be unlikely.

And then darkness.

Finn felt everything go silent, but loud at the same time. He heard Isaac scream the loudest and like that he felt the ground. The Gen Ones reached down, and stabbed him through the chest, Finn felt the first one and then the second, blood splattered out of his chest and onto his face.

He then felt the entire area go numb, he felt his heart stop beating and his blood stopped flowing. A few more Gen Ones came up and stabbed him, and just moving his head over with what little control he had, Finn saw Joss and then he felt his eyes, close and like that, his soul moved on.

Isaac fell to the ground as suddenly the army did something, the Gatling gun broke the ceiling and glass wall of the station. Joss looked over and took one last look at Finn's bloody body, he then teleported away. The nanobots let Isaac go and the shark felt his powers return.

“I can't do it." Isaac fell to the ground and his friends ran away, they ran for the wall and towards the army vehicle. While the nanobots ran off escaping from the Gatling gun and the erupting chaos of the war. Isaac ignored it all and crawled towards Finn. The shark was lifeless, Isaac fell on Finn and tried to hear something, a heartbeat or anything. He mourned, Isaac fell into Finn's dead body silenced over it all and looking at the shark, he knew the world was over. Finn Harris was dead and in all other terms, so was Isaac O'Neill.

“Where the hell is Isaac!" Iren yelled as she jumped into the front seat of the jeep, the Gatling gun on top was having a hard time keeping the Kagens and Riftwalkers away. Iren looked over to Ross, who was still sweating. “We don't have time to mourn this is war!"

“I don't know but we need to get out of this town, we need to get to Billy and then find somewhere safe to hang out!" Ross yelled as he looked behind and saw Barry enter the jeep. The Soldiers had the window lowered and were firing at them.

“I don't know, he disappeared with Finn's body in the madness, we can't find him, he'll have to come to us." Barry leaned back against the seat and fired energy at the approaching Kagens. “Where the hell are we going to go?"

Iren looked out of the window and saw the mountains of Lake Tahoe, she remembered a story that Michelle told her once, and if it was true the it would be perfect.

“Well then, we're going to California! I'm sorry my friend." Iren applied her foot vigorously to the pedal and drove off even as Kagens shot energy at them.

The storm has gathered, and through it two fractions have found lighting striking. Carson City has found war. The egomaniacs, the Kagens and the cunning Riftwalkers stand facing each other, between them a town of civilians. Lighting has stuck twice and the only people who were keeping it from striking twice are the Outsiders and they have failed.

Finn Harris is dead and the Outsiders have failed…
