#6 of Akeela, the Queen of Eqypt

This is the LAST chapter of the Akeela story, but as i was writing, i realized that this chapter was going to be way too big if i didn't chop it in half. I was already at 14 pages on the first half. So, this is part 1. The second half will be out shortly.

Enjoy!

Opening her eyes, Katrina sat up in bed, pushing her purple comforter away from her body and flinging it to the opposite side of the bed. Within an instant, her feet landed on the floor, and she started to hurry out of her room, stopping only to grab her favorite baby doll Susie.

"Hurry Susie! We have to hear the end of mommy's story!"

As Katrina rushed down the hall, Susie's head bobbed up and down with every step. Katrina opened her parents' door and walked hastily to their bed. She didn't want to wake them up too quickly, but as she walked to her mother's side of the bed, she leaned down, putting her nose to her mother's muzzle.

"Mama wake up." She whispered, staring wide eyed at her mother with both of their wet noses pressed together.

There was no answer, but Katrina was determined.

"Mama wake up!" Katrina said louder, and as Juliet's eyes snapped open, there was a long pause.

Juliet was a bit shocked to wake up to her daughter staring right at her with such large eyes, but after a few seconds, she smiled, knowing her daughter was anxious to hear what happened to Akeela.

"Well, good morning to you too." Juliet said, scooting back so that Katrina could crawl onto the bed.

As Juliet pushed her body backwards, she could feel James's morning wood pressing to her tail. Instantly, her cheeks turned a soft pink. Of course, if Katrina hadn't been there, she would have woken her husband up with a soft kiss, but the kiss would not be on his muzzle.

"What's wrong honey? It's eight in the morning. Shouldn't you be sleeping in?" Juliet asked, smiling.

"Mama, I want to know the ending of the story. Please?" Katrina asked, snuggling to her mother's chest.

Katrina rubbed her soft nose on the silk of her mother's nightgown, and even though she wasn't looking up, she knew her mother was smiling. It was story time.

"Where is she?" Anpu yelled, practically diving off of his horse.

Anpu had been in another kingdom when the messenger had found him with the news. The messenger had informed him that Akeela was in labor, and he had rushed back as quickly as possible. Running up to Akeela's room, he could hear nothing but silence. At first, he thought that Akeela had simply birthed, and she was sleeping, but as he took another step forward, a dark, unnerving feeling came over him.

"Where is she?" He asked himself quietly, almost whispering.

Anpu took another step forward, but as his paw touched the purple curtain that blocked the entrance, a strong hand caught his shoulder, holding him back.

"Don't go in there." Said a deep voice, and in an instant, Anpu knew it was Koji.

"Why not?" Anpu replied in a weak voice.

The unnerving feeling had increased, and suddenly, the silence didn't seem peaceful anymore. The silence was terrifying, and before Koji could answer, Anpu jerked the purple curtain away from the door and stepped inside, letting his eyes adjust to the darkness of the room. It only took a few seconds for his eyes to adjust to the dim light, and as he stepped forward, he could see Akeela laying in her bed. She could have been sleeping, but he knew she wasn't. Her chest wasn't rising and falling with breath, and the air in the room seemed stiff and cold.

"Akeela..." He whispered, walking to her bedside.

Reaching down, he rubbed his large paw over her hair, gently tucking a red strand of hair behind her ear as she lay still. There was no sign of blood or injury, and Anpu knew that could only mean one thing. She had died giving birth to his child. He had killed his love.

"Akeela..." He whispered once more, hoping that his soft whispers would wake her, and she would bat her eyelashes to let him see her beautiful lavender eyes and her bright smile once more, but she never moved.

Anpu's eyes began to flood with tears. He hadn't shed a tear since the death of his father, and as the first trickle began to roll down his cheek, he laid his head back in sadness, and he howled to the sky. It was the only sound he could muster, and as Anpu fell to his knees, he began to sob, gripping the sheets of Akeela's bed with his claws.

"My lord..." Koji started, placing a comforting paw on Anpu's shoulder. "I'm so sorry. She died during childbirth." He whispered. "The baby is healthy. It is a small boy with his mother's purple eyes and your black fur. He is a true heir to the throne."

"Leave me." Anpu said with his head bowed to the floor.

"But my lord..." Koji started to say, but he stopped, feeling the hair on the back of Anpu's neck begin to rise.

"Get out!" Anpu yelled angrily, standing to his feet. Quickly, he grabbed the nearest chair and threw it against the farthest wall of the room. The wood shattered into a million little bits, and as Anpu began to yell in anger and sadness, his fur stood on end, making him look bigger and more terrifying.

Instantly, Koji left the room. He knew there would be no talking to Anpu at this point, but something strange had happened to Akeela. She hadn't been showing signs of labor, and even though she had been dead for at least an hour, her body still seemed beautiful and unchanged. He skin had even been radiating a bit of heat. He had felt it when he tried to get close to her earlier.

"Something isn't right." Koji whispered, and he hurried to his room, hoping to find something useful.

__

As Akeela opened her eyes, she no longer felt solid. It was a strange feeling to describe, but she simply felt as if she was floating, and she could no longer touch the world around her. Opening her eyes, she realized that she was still in her room, but she could no longer feel the bed beneath her back or smell the sweet scent of the Nile drift through her windows. Instead, she was simply weightless, staring at her own body as Anpu gripped the sheets, growling and trying to cope with his loss.

"Anpu." She whispered, hearing her voice seem to echo over the room, but Anpu didn't hear her. Her words must have drifted right through him.

"Akeela, I'm so sorry." Anpu whispered, holding his head up to look at Akeela's limp frame. "I'm so sorry I ever asked you to do this. If I had never asked you to bear my child, you would still be alive. I killed you." Anpu whispered, taking Akeela's soft paws into his. Her hands were still a bit warm, but he didn't think anything of it.

"Anpu, I'm right here!" Akeela yelled, leaning over the bed a bit.

Once again, her voice seemed to echo through the room, bouncing off the walls, but Anpu still did not even flinch or look around.

"I'm not sure I can live without you." Anpu whispered, looking at Akeela's face. "No one has ever made me feel like you did, and it's my fault you're gone. I know I have to stay alive for our son, but I want to join you." Anpu whispered, tightening his grip on Akeela's paw.

"No! Anpu! I'm right here! Please, don't hurt yourself!" She yelled, trying to touch Anpu, but her paw simply faded right through his cheek. "Anpu, I love you!"

"He can't hear you." Came a deep, raspy voice from behind.

The voice echoed against the walls, bouncing back to surround Akeela like a blanket. She spun around quickly only to wish that she hadn't. Standing behind her was a very tall jackal with fur the color of light gray smoke. He had to be almost seven feet tall, and as Akeela stared at him, she couldn't help but to stare straight into his glowing red eyes. They were terrifying, and as Akeela let out a soft gasp, she took a step back, watching as a smirk spread over the male jackal's face. The smirk revealed his razor sharp teeth, and as Akeela took another step back, he took a large step forward.

"Who are you?" Akeela asked, trying not to sound as terrified as she felt.

"Well, at the moment, I am the keeper of your soul. After all, it was given to me." He said, letting his glowing red eyes trace her figure. "It has been a while since Keket sent me something..." He paused, twirling his index finger in the air as if he was trying to think of the right words. "...Something so tempting and beautiful."

"You're the demon that watches over the underworld!" Akeela yelled, taking another step back, and as she did, her legs phased through her bed.

"I have many names, but you can simply call me master. That's what I am to you now dear." As he spoke, the master reached his large paw out to Akeela, rubbing one of his incredibly sharp claws under her chin. She couldn't feel the bed around her or the ground she was supposedly standing on, but she could feel his claw. It was as sharp as any dagger, and as he rubbed it over her chin, her spirit seemed to tingle. It was almost like having goose bumps.

"I'm going to enjoy corrupting your spirit in the underworld. Maybe you can be my new pet. I need something cute beside me for eternity." He said, smirking as his red eyes darted from left to right, making Akeela whimper. They were glowing like embers in a fire, and it made Akeela weary of what his home in the underworld must be like.

"You're not taking me anywhere! Get away from me!" Akeela yelled, moving backwards a bit more.

"Honey, you can't avoid me forever, and as a matter of fact, when the sun goes down, your soul will be coming with me. You will have no choice." The male said, smirking as he threw his hand forward, and his hand seemed to morph into a whip, wrapping itself around Akeela's waist and pulling her to his body.

"Let me go!" Akeela yelled and struggled.

The male smirked, slipping his long, spikey tongue out of his muzzle and licking over Akeela's soft cheek. It was almost like scraping her cheek against the pillars of the palace--rough.

"Delicious." He said, smirking.

"I said get away!" Akeela yelled, lashing out with her paws.

The quick movement of her paws caused the demon to dissipate like fog, and as he disappeared, Akeela looked around the room, trying to figure out what to do. Her first thought seemed silly, but as she walked back to the bed, she tried to lay down and sort of insert herself back into her body. As she laid down, nothing happened, and she quickly got up. She walked to the end of the bed, and with a quick sprint, she dived onto the bed, hoping that her spirit would dive back into her body, causing them to connect and letting her wake up, but nothing happened.

"Dammit!" Akeela yelled, sighing.

Anpu was no longer in the room. He had left wiping the tears from his eyes to avoid attention from the other servants, and she quickly followed, wanting to know where he was going.

"Anpu! Anpu! Anpu!" She yelled, continuously calling his name. She was trying to get some sort of reaction from him. She even tried slapping him, but her hand simply faded through his fur.

"What do I have to do to make you see me?" Akeela asked, putting her hands on her hips.

Quickly, she ran ahead of him, and she held her paws out in front of her body, hoping to make him stop, but he simply walked right through her with a sad expression on his face.

"Anpu where are you going?" She asked as if he could hear her, but she simply followed him.

After a while, she realized that he was walking to Koji's room, and as Anpu entered Koji's medical room, he quickly grabbed Koji by the throat, slamming him against the wall.

"I asked you to watch her! Where were you when she was dying? You could have helped her!" Anpu yelled angrily, staring at Koji with hatred in his eyes.

"Your mother sent me into the town to run errands while she is gone." Koji choked, taking in a few raspy breaths before he continued. "When I got back, Akeela was dead. She was fine when I left." He said, trying to remain calm as Anpu's large paw closed around his throat.

"Anpu, stop!" Akeela yelled, but she knew it was no use. He couldn't see or hear her, and as she whimpered, she turned to look at Koji. Koji was staring wide eyed at her, and Akeela turned around, thinking that someone else had walked into the room, but no one was there.

"Oh my god. Can you see me?" She asked, looking at Koji.

"Akeela..." Koji whispered, almost choking both from Anpu's grip and excitement.

By the look of Koji's expression, Anpu turned around, thinking Akeela would be behind him, but he didn't see anything. Pulling his hand back, he quickly took control of his anger, thinking he had choked Koji to the point of hallucination.

"I'm sorry Koji." Anpu whispered, taking a deep breath. "I lost it."

"I understand." Koji said, rubbing his throat, and as Anpu walked out of the room, Koji turned his attention to Akeela, staring at her nearly transparent figure.

"Akeela, why are you a spirit?" Koji asked, knowing that most people simply passed on after their death.

"I was cursed by Keket. She stabbed me with some sort of knife, and a demon is after me. I think he is the demon that controls the underworld!" Akeela said frantically, whimpering as she began to pace back and forth.

As she turned around to continue pacing, she stopped, looking at Koji. "Wait, how the hell can you even see me right now? I passed so many people on my way here, and none of them could see me. How is this possible?"

"Well, I'm not exactly normal." Koji replied, combing his gaze over his large bookshelf for a certain piece of literature.

"What?!" Akeela asked in disbelief.

"I mean, I am an Anthro, but I'm not exactly a real Anthro. I'm a healer, gifted by the gods to help people on Earth." Koji said, reaching up to the top shelf for a large, almost ancient book.

Pulling the faded red book down to his arms, Koji quickly laid it on the table next to him, flipping through the pages as if he was on a mission to find a particular page.

"That's why your hands glow! I knew it!" Akeela squealed, getting close to Koji. Reaching through him, she tried to turn the pages of his book, but Koji shivered, letting out a loud groan.

"Please don't do that. You are so cold." He said, blushing.

"Oh, Anpu couldn't feel me. I thought you couldn't either."

Sighing softly, Akeela looked around the room, and she whimpered. "Kesi has my son. I hope Anpu went to get him from her. She helped kill me! She just stood there!"

"Ah, here it is." Koji said, lifting the bulky book into his arms once more. Pulling it closer to his eyes, he began to read, and once he finished reading, he turned the book around for Akeela to see the picture of a large dagger. The dagger had a long, thin blade with designs of winged demons on the handle, but most importantly, it was identical to the dagger that Keket had used to kill Akeela.

"That's it!" Akeela said, pointing to the page. Leaning in, she tried to read what was written, but the words were in a lost language that she did not understand.

"I had hoped that it wasn't. This dagger belongs to the demon who watches over the underworld. His name is Osiris. I had heard that Keket made a deal with him for immortality, but I didn't think it was true. She would have made the deal recently though. I don't know what the deal was, or why she has the dagger, but all I know is, you have to get back into your body before sundown. At sundown, the bond between your spirit and your body will be severed, and your soul will belong to the demon. Right now, you are still linked to your body. I knew something was strange when you were still warm and nothing had changed. It's like you're simply sleeping. All I know is that demons don't just give their prized weapons away to mortals. Even if it was a great deal, I don't know why Keket would have this dagger."

Akeela began to panic. She had tried to get back into her body, and if she didn't find some way, she would be damned and trapped in the underworld with the Jackal for all eternity. Even though she was not in her body anymore, she thought that she could feel her heart begin to race and her blood begin to chill. She was getting scared.

"Koji! I tried to get back in!" She said in a panicked voice, beginning to pace the floor. "How do I do it? Please, you have to help me!"

"Akeela! Calm down please!" Koji said, holding out his paws. He wanted to touch her, but as he reached out to hold her shoulders, his hands phased right through her. He had almost forgotten that she was just a spirit.

As Akeela began to calm down a bit, she could feel something begin pulling at her. It was almost like she had thin pieces of string tied around her arms and legs, and as someone began to pull on the string, she shivered, trying to pull back to get away.

"Koji! I think he's taking me!" Akeela yelled, looking around the room. She could not see the demon Osiris, but she could feel his presence. He was the one pulling on her strings, and just as she started to reach out for Koji, another string wrapped around her neck, making her gasp. The strings were jerked backwards, and Akeela could feel her spirit starting to break into fog just as Osiris had done earlier.

"He can't take you until sundown! Don't let him trick you!" Koji yelled, and just as he finished, Akeela disappeared, leaving behind a dark mist that coated the air until it settled in the floor, disappearing completely.

"Fuck..." Koji whispered, grabbing a small bag from the top shelf of his bookcase. He needed to help Akeela as much as possible.

__

As Anpu walked into Akeela's room, he could see her beautiful figure laying on the bed. She was completely still. Her chest was not rising and falling with breath, and her blood did not seem to be pulsing through her veins. He couldn't even hear a heartbeat.

"Here she is little buddy." Anpu whispered, holding the infant in his large arms. The child was so small, and as Anpu looked down at the baby, he could see that the child was simply staring up at him with his lavender eyes, listening to every word that his father had to say. It was almost like he understood.

"This is your beautiful mother. She was the love of my life, and she always will be." He whispered, slowly pushing the blanket away from the child's face. "My son Rajin." Anpu whispered, holding him close. "I don't blame you for this. It's my fault." He said softly, looking at Akeela's body.

Slowly, he walked over to her, and as he brushed her hair away from her face, he pulled his hand back quickly, feeling a bit uneasy. She was still warm. Her body was still warm as if her heart was still beating, and he knew it was not possible. She had been gone for hours.

"What is going on here?" He whispered, slowly laying his son onto the bed next to Akeela.

"Anpu!" Koji yelled, running in the room frantically. He was panting from running so quickly, and as he entered the room, he laid the bag down onto the floor, opening it to pull out a large container of herbs.

"Koji what are you doing?" Anpu asked, looking confused.

"Akeela is not dead. She is in-between death and life. Right now, she is in danger. Her soul can be taken from her two ways. If someone destroys her body, she will have nothing to come back to, and if Osiris takes her soul, she will never return."

"Osiris?!" Anpu asked, staring wide eyed.

"Keket used an enchanted dagger and stabbed Akeela, disconnecting her soul from her body. At sundown, she will belong to the demon, but if Keket destroys her body, she will be his. I knew something was wrong. Help me!"

Still a bit confused, Anpu nodded, walking over to Koji. He didn't have to worry about his son. It seemed that Akeela's scent had calmed him, and he was fast asleep beside her, curled up tightly in a freshly woven blanket. Quickly, Koji opened the container of herbs, and he walked over to the bed, starting to make a complete circle around Akeela and baby Rajin.

"We need to make a complete circle around her. It's a protection spell. Once that circle is up, we need to make another just to be safe."

The males worked in silence as they created two tight circles around Akeela's bed. Anpu was very skeptical about the whole thing. He wondered if it would truly work. As Anpu was lost in thought, Koji reached over and took Anpu's paw into his, gently pricking his finger with a needle.

"Let one single drop fall into the herbs on both circles." Koji said, and he did the same, pricking his finger.

Slowly, Anpu squeezed his finger, watching as a single drop of crimson appeared. Turning his hand over, he let the drop fall into the green herbs, watching as his blood was absorbed into the leaves.

"That's impossible." Anpu whispered, staring wide eyed, but he held out his hand once more, letting another drop fall into the second ring of leaves.

"It's magic." Koji said with a smile, adding his own blood to the ring, before he closed his eyes. Koji began to whisper to himself in a language that Anpu could not understand, and as Koji outstretched his paw over the herbs, they started to glow softly. The bright green glow only lasted for a few seconds, and as Koji pulled his paw back, he looked to Anpu and smiled.

"It is done. You and I are the only two that can get to the child and Akeela."

"What are you?" Anpu asked, staring.

"I am a normal anthro if that's what you're asking. I am no god from the heavens, but I was gifted long ago with magic. The gods knew they needed someone on Earth to protect the good people that live here, and they chose me. I've been looking out for your family and others for centuries."

"Centuries?!" Anpu squeaked, staring at him in disbelief. "Why did you not tell us this before?"

"Well, there is evil in the world as well as good. I chose to stay a secret, because I knew that if certain people found out about me, they may try to steal my gifts or kill me for them. Keket would be one example."

"What can we do to help Akeela come back?" Anpu asked, staring at his family on the comfortable bed.

"We wait." Koji said sadly, hoping desperately that Akeela was alright.

__

"Hello!" Akeela yelled into the darkness, feeling alone. "Koji! Anpu! Anyone!" She yelled louder, starting to panic as she turned in circles. She kept turning around, but no matter which direction she turned, there was nothing there. There was nothing but darkness all around her.

"There you are precious." Came a deep voice from the dark, but Akeela could not pick out which direction it had come from. The voice seemed to echo all around her, and as she felt the demon's presence, she began to run. She had no idea where she was going, but as she gained speed, she could feel her feet starting to sink. It was as if the darkness had turned into a thick syrup.

"Oh no!" She yelled, trying to pick up her feet, but it was no use. She could not move.

"Here, let me help you."

As the words echoed around Akeela, two large paws shot out of the darkness, grabbing Akeela by her shoulders. In an instant, the syrup was gone, and she was then standing in a circle of light. The light had no origin that Akeela could see, but as she tried to step backwards, it followed her, making her shiver. It was then that Osiris stepped into the light, smirking at Akeela as if he was happy to see her. For a demon, he looked relatively normal, but his red eyes that burned like two hot embers in the fire were what made Akeela shiver.

"What do you want?!" Akeela squealed, whimpering as she tried to step away once more, only to smack into the edge of the light as if she was in an invisible container.

"I want you darling. You do belong to me after all." He said, stepping forward. He was wearing a large, black robe, and as he reached her, he gripped her throat, smirking as he leaned down to look into her eyes. With one long sniff, he took in her scent, and as he pulled back, he blew smoke into Akeela's face, making her cough and whimper.

"No! I don't want to go with you!" Akeela yelled, trying to fight, but Osiris pinned her to the invisible barrier, growling loudly.

"How do you plan to escape then?" He asked with a smirk, slowly reaching down to her thigh with his free paw before he moved it upwards, letting his sharp claws scrape at Akeela's inner thigh before he reached her lower lips. He was just about to push a finger inside of Akeela when she answered him frantically.

"I want to make a deal!" Akeela gasped out, shivering as she felt his claws pricking her skin.

Intrigued, Osiris smirked, and he slowly removed both of his paws from Akeela, letting her drop back down to the ground. "I'm listening."

"My soul for Keket." Akeela said quickly, looking at the demon. "Put me back in my body, and I will deliver Keket's soul to you before sundown."

"Sundown is in a couple of hours honey. You can't pull that off."

"I can, and I will." Akeela said, standing her ground. "If I don't succeed, I will go with you willingly."

"Willingly you say? I like the sound of that, but what makes you think I want Keket's soul more than yours?"

"That dagger she has. She stole it from you didn't she? No demon would give their weapons away to a mortal, and no true demon would tolerate a mortal taking advantage of them. A true demon would want revenge."

Raising his eyebrow, Osiris smirked. "Yes, I granted her immortality, and she stole my dagger before returning to her body. There are many things I tolerate, but stealing is not one of them. She double crossed me. Deliver her soul before sundown, and you will be free to stay on Earth."

"Yes master." Akeela said, humoring the demon now that she had gotten his attention.

"Oh, the medallion around Keket's neck is an enchantment to protect her. It's the only reason I haven't ripped her throat out myself already." Osiris said with a smirk, looking at his long, white claws.

"Why would you even tell me that information?" Akeela asked, confused as to why the demon would be helping her. She knew that demons were cursed by the gods above to always tell the truth, but she had no idea why he would give her a way to kill Keket.

"Well, if you don't succeed, your soul is mine. If you kill Keket, her soul is mine. Really, it's a purely win-win situation. I see no need to withhold details." Osiris said with a grin as smoke began to rise out of his nostrils, making Akeela take a step back.

"See you at sundown one way or another dear Akeela."

With those words, Osiris snapped his fingers, and Akeela vanished immediately.

__

Gasping for air, Akeela snapped her eyes open, and her body jolted forward, making her sit up quickly. The fast movement and lack of air made her dizzy, but as her lungs filled with air once again, she shivered, feeling like a pressure had been taken off of her chest. Was the pressure from death? She wasn't sure, but she began to take in large, gasping breaths. She was savoring every breath of air that passed through her lungs and out of her muzzle. It was something that she would never take for granted again. As Akeela adjusted to being back on earth, something moved in the corner of her eye, and she snapped her head to the right, seeing Keket standing by her bedside.

"You!" Akeela said in a menacing, dark voice. She wasn't even aware that she had a voice like that inside of her, but Keket wasted no time. She was holding a sword this time, and she had been prepared to truly kill Akeela. She had grown impatient waiting for sundown.

"No!" Keket yelled, staring at Akeela as if she was still a spirit. "This is impossible! No one comes back from that!"

With one swift movement, Keket brought the sword in her paws crashing down towards Akeela, but when the blade was only inches from Akeela's head, it stopped, colliding with a bright dome. The dome erupted with purple sparks into the air, showing the protection spell that Koji had placed around Akeela's bed. The sparks disappeared in seconds, leaving Keket to stare into Akeela's eyes. As they looked at each other, Akeela smirked, and Keket turned, running out of the room. She knew she was in trouble.

Akeela was just about to see if she could get out of the barrier when she heard a soft cry. Looking to her side, she saw her son wrapped tightly in a blanket, and her heart leaped with joy. Picking him up, she held him in her arms. She wasn't worried about Keket with the protection barrier around her, and as little Rajin looked up to his mother, Akeela started to cry softly, feeling hot tears roll down her cheeks. He truly was a beautiful baby, and she smiled looking back into his lavender eyes with her own.

"I thought I would never get to hold you again." She whispered, pushing one side of the blanket down and away from the infant's face. "You're so beautiful." Akeela said quietly, watching as the baby boy reached up to her, placing his tiny paws on her nose. It was almost as if he knew who she was.

"Let's go find your father." Akeela whispered, slowly crawling to the edge of the bed. She had no idea where Anpu was, and she was a bit worried to leave the safety of her bed. Was Keket waiting for her around the corner?

Reaching out, Akeela tried to touch the air where she thought the barrier was. It could not be seen unless someone tried to get through, and as Akeela's hand passed over the herb ring, nothing happened. There was no reaction from the barrier, and she quickly got off the bed, hurrying into the hallway. She knew that there was only one reason that Anpu would leave her side. Koji must have needed something, and as she hurried through the hallway, she held her son close, watching as he drifted off to sleep with her scent surrounding him.

As Akeela neared Koji's room, she could hear Anpu inside, talking with Koji about where she could be.

"She just disappeared?" Anpu asked frantically, pacing around the room. "Where could she be? Do you think she's okay?"

There was an urgent tone in Anpu's voice. He was so worried about her, and Akeela smiled a bit, stepping silently into the doorway.

"I'm right here." She said softly, and she watched as Anpu's ears perked up immediately. He quickly turned around, and a smile came over his muzzle.

"Akeela!" He cheered, clearing the distance between his family and himself in only a matter of seconds.

"An-" Akeela was about to say her love's name, but Anpu had already wrapped his large paws around her waist and pulled her body to his, letting his soft, full lips press to hers in a passionate kiss with little Rajin pressed in-between his parents' chests. His hands and arms were shaking against Akeela's fur, and as Akeela pulled back from Anpu. She could see the tears that had started to swell up in his eyes.

"Anpu..." She whispered, reaching up with one paw to wipe his tears away as they streamed from his eyes.

"I thought I lost you." Anpu whispered, feeling his large paws still quivering against her fur. He couldn't believe that he was holding his love once more.

"Not in a million years." Akeela whispered, feeling Anpu nuzzle into her neck. "But I'm still not completely safe..." Akeela said, looking over at Koji. "I had to make a deal."

Koji's eyes widened, and he stepped forward, going to Akeela quickly. "Tell me you didn't do something too risky."

"I made a deal with Osiris. The deal was her soul for mine. If I can give her soul to him, I will be free, but Osiris said she wears an amulet around her neck for protection." Akeela said, holding her son close as he began to whimper. At first, Akeela thought she had woken him up by being loud, but she soon realized that he was hungry. He probably hadn't been fed since she had given birth to him, and as Rajin began to wiggle, Akeela slowly pushed her gown off of her shoulder, letting one side fall to expose her breast. Rajin quickly latched on, and as Anpu watched, he had to contain himself and focus on the matter at hand. He couldn't quite pounce Akeela yet.

Soft, sucking sounds began to fill the air, and Akeela blushed, knowing that both of the men could hear it clearly. It felt strange to be feeding her little pup. She could feel the milk slowly draining out of her breast, but Rajin seemed happy.

"We really need to do something, and we need to do it fast." Anpu said, looking at Koji for confirmation.
