I am eating a small ration of food, it's just a tray with a baked potato, something that's exactly like spam and a small piece of cornbread with a cup of water nearby. I've managed to work the meat and bread into a sandwich and eat as explosions and distant weapons fire sound as heavy rain falls.

Fox comes into my view and he says "How are you holding up Adam?"

I look at him with tired eyes and I say "I'm hanging in there as best I can, you?"

Fox says "The same, the siege is going longer then expected and it's taking a toll on everyone. Which is why we've come up with a plan of attack, come with me."

I get up and follow Fox to a makeshift underground command center where everyone else is and by the looks of it no one is doing any better then either of us. I shouldn't expect anyone to be one hundred percent, especially since we've been here for a month, at least I've used the other weapons built into my suit which has helped but even with that we can't break through.

Falco looks to me and he says "Looks like your not holding better then anyone else."

I stretch and I say "Now I know how the guys in the first world war felt when they were stuck in the trenches." feeling how stiff my joints are.

Fox says "Alright, we've come up with a plan to break the siege, thanks to the dig teams we've made it close to their tunnel network. Given the confines of the tunnels a three person team will head in, Adam your versatile armament makes you perfect for this so your going in, Katt your close combat capabilities are going in as well and Krystal you'll be leading the team as your telepathic abilities make for a great predictor."

With that said the three of us head into the tunnel, dirt covered lights line the walls, personnel with shovels, e-tools and pick axes are walking in and out, the dirt slick as rain water turns it to mud and puddles form.

Krystal looks to me and she says "And how's my fighter doing?" with a light smile and I reply with a loud yawn.

Katt smirks and she says "I think you have your answer."

The three of us make it to the designated location where dig crews have almost breached into the enemy tunnels with stationed military forces nearby.

Krystal says "What's the situation?"

An engineer perks up and she says "We've almost made it through, were just waiting for the next batch of charges to get through what's left."

I say "Why wait when I have the master key?" with a light smile.

Everyone including Krystal looks at me with curious looks, the left plates of my left thigh begin to move, a grip forms which I grab with my left hand as my helmet takes shape, gold plates take form as I place the shoulder mounted weapon which is a type-33 fuel rod gun and I take aim at the wall.

I yell "FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!"

Kat yells "GET CLEAR!" as she, Krystal and the engineer get behind a protective blast wall.

I fire the hooked up weapon, with a huge 'whump' sound a green projectile leaves the type-33 and explodes into the wall which blows a big hole into it. The dust clears, revealing the tunnel system behind it, I have the fuel rod go back into my thigh and form the type-25 and type-1 weapons.

I hear the engineer "That'll... work."

Krystal come up to me and Krystal says "Nice work." with a surprised smile.

Katt says "He's a walking weapons depot!" just as surprised.

Krystal says "I'll take point, let's move out!"

The three of us head into the tunnels, Krystal has her blaster rifle which looks to be a bullpup configuration and Katt is using a semi-automatic shotgun that I've seen her use, the shotgun acts like an eight gauge based on it's used ammunition. I scan with my plasma weapon raised and my sword off so that we don't expose ourselves, my visor adapting to the low light conditions as we go along, Krystal and Katt aren't wearing anything which makes sense because foxes and cats have great night vision from birth and don't need any visual augmentation.

I whisper "So what's the mission?" as it wasn't explained.

Krystal whispers "We are going to cause some disorder, if we can confuse them it'll improve our odds."

I whisper "A mission where we are saboteurs? Excellent."

Katt whispers "But they still have Star Wolf on their side, what if we encounter them?"

I whisper "If they are enemies put them down."

Krystal's eyes snap to me and she whispers "Have you forgotten what happened last time?" with a hard frown.

I sigh and I whisper "I haven't forgotten."

Katt whispers "It's okay Krystal, he's just stating protocol."

A loud 'cha-chick' sound echos down the hall which causes all of us to stop, I have my visor adjust to see down the hall a machine gun nest.

I yell "KIJUHIA NI'!"

Krystal pushes Katt to the right causing her to yelp and Krystal and I move to the left, the machine gun opens fire, it's large caliber rounds spewing the tunnel like an m2 machine gun with the rate of fire of an mg42.

I yell "THEY'RE SPITTING ALOT OF DAKKA!"

Krystal looks to me and she says "Adam, on my word charge out and deal with them!"

I slowly move up, activating my energy sword as I move up.

Krystal says "Go!"

I dash out from cover, the bullets stop comming, I see thanks to my visor that the machine gun crew is reloading the mighty weapon, I yell which gets their attention, the two pull out what look to be submachine guns, I jump over the small barricade of dirt and mud, with a downward slash I cut the first one down, the plasma blade cutting off a good chunk of his head, the second enemy opens up with his gun, the bullets bounce off my armors shields, I quickly aim my plasma rifle at him and fire, the plasma burns through him and he drops.

The ladies come up to me and Krystal says "Nice work Adam."

Katt looks at the machine gun and she says "This is some serious hardware!"

Krystal says "The metal storm machine gun, their newest heavy support weapon. the rumors about it are true afterall."

I examine the machine gun, the weapon is belt-fed, the rounds slightly bigger then a .50, the long barrel fitted with a break system, I kneel down and begin to try to reload it.

Katt says "What are you doing?"

I say "Going to see if I can bring this thing with us."

Katt says "Are you sure you can handle it?"

I say "Only one way to find out." and I manage to reload and cock it.

By the looks of it the pod system is buried in the dirt and mud, possibly to help maintain control of it, I grip both ends of the weapon and begin to yank, the pod begins to come up through the dirt, I stomp on it to keep it buried, I can hear the part keeping the two together creak, with another heave the part breaks, my suit compinsating for the extra weight, the two ladies look at me in awe and I quickly wrap the loaded belt around my person.

I say "Never underestimate power armor."

The three of us continue to head down the tunnel, Katt watching over our rear and I'm upfront, ready to unleash a leathel wall of weapons fire. The sound and muffled vibrations of artillery sounds rattle above us, footsteps echo ahead of us, my visor tracking enemy silhouettes.

I yell "HOSTILES!!!" and pull the trigger, my suit adjusts to the recoil as the weapon roars, each round lost in the sound of almost like an over clocked, hard-hitting jackhammer.

My audio sensors pick up yelling and screaming from the enemy squad, I stop shooting, dead silence claims the air and the enemy squad has been wiped out.

Katt says "It makes short work of infantry."

I say "It does, but it uses it's ammo quick." as I examine the belt and I see half of the belt has gone through.

Krystal says "A high caliber and with such a high rate of fire... I've seen the gatling gun in action but something like this!"

I say "We actually a machine gun like this back on Earth, it's not as big of caliber but it was a 7.92x57mm gun with a rate of fire of 1,200 rounds a minute. Because of how fierce it was it was called The Buzzsaw."

Katt says "If that's the case, this is their version of that."

After moving furthur we exit the tunnels to see the enemy base, a defense line of tanks, trenches and artillery hunker down with tough-looking bunkers also in place. Followed by what look to be barracks and motor pools and lastly what looks to be the enemy headquarters.

Krystal says "There it is, if we can remove that from play the Fortuna will be under our control again."

I say "We need a game plan though, otherwise this'll blow up in our faces." as I continue to scan the area.

Krystal says "Hmm, let's head into their command area, from there we can call in orbital strikes on their entrenched positions, to do that we'll have to keep a low profile."

I toss the machine gun to the side and ready my two previous weapons.

Krystal looks to Katt and she says "You've got point."

Katt nods and begins to lead us, infiltration must be her strong point as we skirt around patrols and avoid sensors. We find a vent system which leads into the command center, the vent system we are in is like a narrow hallway but it's rusted, the floor smeared with dirt and grime, broken and flickering lights line the walls and the walls themselves are cracked through.

Katt whispers "It looks like this place is built on top of an old structure."

I whisper "Bit of an oversight for a vent system though."

Katt whispers "By the looks of it, this wasn't a vent originally it must've been a hallway refitted to be a vent."

Krystal whispers "It's very likely there are more of these vents."

I whisper "Why would they do that?"

Krystal whispers "They like to try to squeeze things like small factories, a rare launch system or things like that into old bases."

I whisper "That begs the question... what's here?"

Katt whispers "Whatever is here it can't be good, it never is."

The walls suddenly shift to pristine shape but now there are no lights on the walls with the ceiling and floor matching the walls.

I whisper "We're in some kind of launch silo!"

Krystal whispers "It sure looks like it."

We step into a large room, machines hiss with steam, hydraulics sound and heavy construction, biped walkers move materials and componets. From the looks of it, there's a few interstealler rockets equipped to some kind of module.

Katt whispers "What are they making?" as she takes a step closer.

A loud whir gets my attention, a big construction walker moves towards Katt with it's right claw raised, I rapid fire my plasma rifle at the right arm of the walker, the plasma melts the armor plate, hitting the hydraulics which causes the arm to drop to it's side, I charge as I activate my energy sword, I go behind it, slicing through the servos of both knees, the machine falls back, I stab my sword into the left shoulder which severs the lines to the armor, I hop on top of it, I slice the cockpit open and see wired into it what looks to be an installed a.i. system, I quickly cut the thing clean in half.

I look to Katt and I say "Are you okay?"

Katt nods and she says "Yes, thank you."

Krystal says "As you can see, my telepath ability only goes so far as it doesn't work on machines."

I say "That's not out of the ordinary for a telepath.", I turn my attention to the obliterated a.i. system and I say "Construction walkers that are a.i. controlled... Krystal, can you detect anyone in those things?"

Krystal shakes her head and she says "There's no one inside them."

Katt says "And these things are expensive to use, these walkers use a military-based a.i. system with algorithms for construction."

I look to the rocket and I say "Whatever they are launching it must be important to use such machines." followed by deactivating my sword.

Krystal says "Come on, let's go before more show up!"

I take a quick glance at the construction machine and join the two ladies. Sticking to the shadows, we climb up higher and higher, we get near a small grate and we begin to hear voices, which causes Krystal to give us hand signals to halt and listen.

"That human gave you quite a pounding Panther." sounding like Wolf.

"I'll claw his eyes out for ruining my fighter!" with a growl, no doubt being Panther.

"I wonder what he looks like under that armor, they didn't give us a visual of him." the voice being Leon's.

"Who cares? We're being offered a lot to kill him. I almost feel sorry for him, Oikonny seems to hate him as much as the rest of Star Fox." Wolf's voice echoing.

Soon the voices fade, Krystal gets my attention, telling me to cut the grate which I do with my sword, the three of us move into the hall way and see no one is around.

Krystal says "Alright, we'll cover more ground and keep a lowar profile if we split up.", she looks to me and she says "Engage only if you have to!" with a stern gaze.

I nod, knowing what she means and we split up. I hug the wall, weapons ready to defend myself, I find a room labeled 'Intelligence/Planning', I put away my sword and begin to open it.

I hear "We meet again Adam!" it's Panther.

I look to see him walking towards me with a sword which is a long falchion with the edge looking to be energy based.

Panther says "Looks like I have you all to myself! Not even Krystal can see you now." with an evil smile.

I activate my sword and I say "I don't need anyone to save me! Why don't you run back and play with some yarn?!"

Panther growls, he says "Enough human! Your insolence end here!" and he comes charging at me.

I fire my plasma rifle, Panther effortlessly dodges, he swings his sword, I block him with mine, the two energy blades meet in blinding light, he forces me back, I quickly go to block as he takes another swing, my plasma rifle folds in, I yell as I push forth, I swing which clashes with his blade and we stare at each other.

Panther says "Such fire, are all you humans such fighters?"

I say "Not all of us."

An evil smile crosses Panther's face and he says "One way to find out."

I'm instantly taken off guard which causes me to flinch, Panther forces me back, he swings, I dodge and with a left hook, my hardened fist smashes into the right side of his head, I swing my sword, aiming to decapitate Panther, he ducts and kicks my chest plate which forces me back.

Panther says "Enough of this! I enjoyed our match but now it's time to head out.", he pulls out what looks to be a smoke grenade, he throws it down which makes it explode and a smoke cloud erupts up.

I run after him, my visor tracking him, I need to know what he meant by what he said. I follow him into a staging area, fighters and tanks being prepared with the rest of Star Wolf present as well. One is an anthro wolf wearing combat armor with what looks to be a digital eye piece over his left eye. The other is a green lizard sort of like an anthro chameleon wearing a purple jumpsuit with black armor plates. Obviously the wolf is... well Wolf and the lizard is Leon.

Panther looks to me and he says "You are a persistant one, I'll give you that. But now your outnumbered greatly, even with your weapons you can't win against these numbers." with a smile.

I think 'He's right... but I have one trick up my sleeve.', the plate on my suit move to my normal height, my helmet folds into my suit, revealing my features which catches everyone off guard, some are in shock, some are in awe and some are disguested and I say "Maybe, but numbers aren't everything. I am Adam., I am a human from the planet Earth and the newest member of Star Fox. Take your best shot!" as I raise my sword.

Panther smiles, he says "You wish to die like this? Fine! I'll grant you your wish!" and he comes charging at me with his sword drawn.

Our blades meet, sparks fly as the two energy weapons clash, I quickly force him back, I swing, he blocks and our gazes meet again.

Panther says "Wat could they see in such a frail creature? There's no way you can beat me! Your just a lonely human!" with a snarl.

I sneer, I say "That's right! I'm a human you kitty cat!", I force him back, I go to strike, he dodges to my left, I think 'Gotcha litter brain!', my type-25 quickly forms and opens fire.

The plasma strikes his lowar back just above his hips, he yelps and falls to the ground, his feet twitching.

I smirk, I say "I guess not all cats are smart.", I apprach him and prepare to try to drag him away to be interrogated.

A shot hits my armor, which bounces off but forces me back, I look to see Wolf with a big pistol and Leon is holding a small blaster.

Wolf says "It won't be that easy human!"

Leon says "Let's skin him alive.!"

I think 'I have no choice... I have to fall back.', I remember that room earlier, I think 'Maybe I can find answers in there.', I say "Good day gents!" and I run back the way I came, my armor plate moving back into place and being shot at.
