I feel the impulses of my brain restart as my nerves reconnect, a beeping noise claims my hearing as I slowly open my eyes. I slowly sit up with my joints aching, noticing my my left arm is hooked to what looks to be a heart monitor, judging from my surroundings I seem to be in the medbay. The door to the room opens, Krystal enters the room, she walks towards me and she takes a seat at the end of the bed I'm in.

Krystal says "How do you feel?" as she tilts her head.

I say "Like hell." feeling my joints act up.

Krystal says "You're lucky to be alive, your fighter was almost completely destroyed!" her voice picking up.

I look down, feeling ashamed of the situation as I did engage Star Wolf recklessly with no thought on my safety. I hear Krystal lightly sigh as I feel the sheets on the bed shuffle, I glance to see Krystal pull me into a gentle embrace, I feel one of her fur-covered hands comb through my hair as I hear her heart beat in a smooth rhythm. I move my arms, wrapping them around the blue vixen as tight as I can without the pain being too intense.

I say "How long have I been out?"

Krystal says "About twelve hours, why?"

I gently break the embrace,, I move to get out of the bed as I see my suit in the corner of the room, I stand onto the floor as Krystal gets up, with each step I wince but my willpower over comes it as I push onward, Krystal actually having to catch me a few times as I stumble, finally I make it to my suit which Krystal helps me put on, I can tell by looking at her she really doesn't want me to do this but she knows I've already made up my mind. It doesn't take long to get the suit on and the both of us leave, heading to the bridge.

Krystal says "Is the armor helping?"

I say "A lot, the pain is far more manageable."

Krystal sticks close to me as we head down the hallways, no doubt ready to catch me should I stumble which isn't likely because of my suit. We enter the elevator and head up, the hum from the elevators movement is rather soothing actually as my mind forgets the damage done to my body.

Krystal says "Just so you know, we have a few people who are allies on the bridge. I know how anxious you can get."

I nod thankfully to Krystal as the door opens to the bridge, along with the rest of the team of Star Fox are five women, the first is a dog with white fur, her eyes are blue with a red bow on her head and wearing a pilot suit, the second woman is a lynx with deep blue eyes and her suit looks somewhat similar to Fox's, the third is cat, her fur is pink, blue eyes, her muzzle is white with white hair, the fourth is a pink frog, her eyes are soft blue with a big yellow bow on her head while wearing a pilot suit and the fifth is a hare with pink fur with red eyes and wearing a pilot suit.

I salute and I say "Adam reporting in!"

Everyone in the room looks in my direction, they look unsure of how to proceed.

Fox says "Adam? Your up already?"

I say "We humans can be a bit stubborn with our injuries." with a light smile as I withdraw my salute.

Krystal crosses her arms and she says "You should be resting."

I say "I'll rest later, I can still fight."

Fox puts on a thinking expression, he comes up to me and he says "When it comes to the situation, it's a ground pounders war for Fortuna, at the moment it's a bit of a stalemate though."

Krystal says "Fox!" with shock.

Fox says "I'm just updating him, I haven't thought of sending him in his current state."

Krystal says You better not, Adam's body has suffered enough damage from the crash!"

I say "Look I understand where the both of you are coming from, I mean I now need my suit to walk. I can at the very least lend a few ideas to what's going on." trying to find a middle ground.

The lynx looks at Fox and she says "Let's at least hear him out Fox."

Fox looks at her, he nods as he says "Alright Miyu.", he looks back at me, he says "I'll bring up the tactical display.", Fox goes over to a circular console, he types a few codes, the machine comes to life and he says "All set."

I go over to the display, I examine it to see that it is a layout of the battlefield down below, labeling strong points, forts, the lines of the deadlock and so much more.

Fox says "Any ideas?"

I say "Depends, does the Cornerian military have orbital dropships?"

Fox says "Yes, why?"

I say "It's part of a plan that the Allied forces used during the second World War, you see during the Normandy landings there were airborne drops done behind enemy lines to disrupt enemy supply lines and to confuse the enemy command structure. It worked as the beach head was formed and enemy forces were broken up into smaller forces, which lead to a higher success rate."

Falco says "So use the same plan that they did?"

I say "More or less." with a sigh hidden in my voice.

Fox says "We'll give it a shot, but right now go get some rest."

There was no point in any protest from me, so I nod and begin to head to make my way back, but I get stopped by the pink frog who examines my suit.

Slippy says "Everything okay Amanda?"

Amanda says "Everything is fine, it's just this exo suit is amazing." as she touches and tries to move plates of my suit like a physical procedure.

I say "Uh, this is kinda uncomfortable."

Krystal says "Amanda, Adam needs to rest. If you want you can read up on the suit."

Amanda pulls he hands away and she says "Uh, sorry about that." with a blush.

I say "Don't worry about it."

On the way out the five ladies properly introduce themselves revealing the dogs name to be Fay, the cats name is Katt and the hares name is Lucy. I return by introducing myself and head to my quarters. After a bit of time I'm out of my suit and on my bed, with my joints screaming and my body feels aflame.

I sigh, I think 'Krystal is right, I'm lucky to be alive.', I hear the 'bell' to my door and I say "Come in."

The door opens revealing Krystal, she comes in, closes the door and she moves closer to me.

I say "Hi Krystal, what's going on?" with a light smile.

Krystal pulls up a chair, she sits and she says "Well, I'm going to keep an eye on you." as she crosses her arms.

I say "Trust me, I'm not going anywhere." with a mixed in sigh.

Krystal places her hand on my head and she says "Do you need anything?"

I say "nah, I'm good. Thank you though." with a light smile and lightly yawn.

Krystal says "Alright, time for you to get some rest." with a smile, she grabs the end of the blanket at the foot of the bed, she spreads it over me and she gently tucks it in to where it feels like a straight jacket.

I say "Thank you Krystal." with a tired smile, feeling the grasps of sleep taking me.

Krystal says "No problem." with a bright smile, she gently brushes her fingers across my cheek and she goes back to sitting in the chair.

I feel my eyelids feel like weights as my vision becomes dark and with a relaxed breath I fall asleep. Unknowing how much time has passed, I open my eyes, my blurry vision returning to full clarity and my consciousness being restored. I look to my left, Krystal is still in the room with me, but instead of sitting on the chair, she's now laying with me, her left arm reaching over me as she seems to gently be pulling me in, I glance up to see she's asleep with a light smile, her breathing relaxed and calm. I notice that she isn't wearing her tiara, as well as her tail is across my waist without rings. I'm honestly surprised and confused, but I honestly welcome this as since I arrived I've felt kind of lonely even with the Star Fox team... well, except one if I'm being honest with myself. I move my free arm, placing it around the blue vixen as I carefully move my body to face her, I glance up to see her face again as I gently lay into her with a light smile on my face. Her smile becomes more warmer as she pulls me in a full embrace and rests her chin on top of my head. I can faintly hear her heart beating as I feel exhausted air leave her lungs and lightly breezes the back of my neck and shoulders, I feel one of her hands move up and down my back in gentle pets.

I hear her "I'm right here Adam." with a sweet sounding voice.

I feel a tear leave my right eye as I happily smile, hugging Krystal and just being with her... she's just done a lot for me since my accidental arrival in the Lylat System. The rubbing of my back stops, I feel a furry finger placed under my chin, I raise my head as Krystal raises hers, I find myself looking into her teal eyes, her nose touches mine as she smiles, she wipes away my tear with her fur covered hand. I want to kiss her, I really do but...

Krystal says "Kiss me." with a knowing smile.

I blush, I keep forgetting she's psychic, I slowly open my mouth, I move my neck, I feel her lips as we connect, suddenly I feel something invade my mouth, it's Krystal's tongue, I close my eyes as I take in in this bliss. I open my eyes a bit to see her eyes open slightly, I decide to try to follow her tongue with mine, her hand moves to the back of my head, she slowly breaks the kiss as she slowly pulls away with her mouth in the form of an open smile.

Krystal says "Not bad, though you need to work on your tongue skills." with a soft smile.

I glance down with a blush, it was the first time I've ever tried it, so I shouldn't be too embarrassed.

I hear Krystal "Its okay, we can work on it." with a mixed in giggle.

I look up at her to see she's smiling brightly and reassuringly, I can feel my heart begin to pound as I put together something to say but no sentence nor words form. What can I say at this point? What could I say?

Krystal moves her right hand though my hair as she says "It's alright you don't need to say anything." with a smile.

My train of thought returns and I say "B-But I do need to. I just don't know what to say."

Krystal lightly giggles and she says "Just say what's in your heart." her smile a bit warmer.

I say "Okay.", I lightly breath, I look into her teal eyes and I say "It's just you've helped me since I came here and you've always been there for me. As time has moved my heart has..."

Krystal says "Fallen for me." with her smile forming more lovingly.

I nod as my heart skips a beat, it was finally all out in the open as far as my feelings go.

Krystal gently takes my right wrist, she moves it to where my hand is placed over her heart and she says "Good, because mine has fallen for you too." with her eyes becoming half-closed.

I feel a rush of relief and I decide to just say it "I love you Krystal." with a broad smile.

Krystal says "I love you too Adam." with a loving smile.

Our lips meet again in a kiss as Krystal cradles my head and neck, her tongue once again scouts my mouth, I try to once again follow the older vixens tongue as I wrap my arms around her.

Suddenly I hear over the loud speaker "This is Fox, we are preparing for ground assault. Those who are assigned are to report in."

Krystal breaks the kiss, a disappointed smile forms and she says "I'm sorry hon, but I gotta go."

A sad smile forms on my face and I say "It's okay, good luck my girl."

Krystal and I share a quick kiss, we leave each others embrace, she tucks me in and leaves. I sigh as I lay my head back on my pillow, it's honestly frustrating to be stuck like this, I want to enter the fray, I do want to make a difference in this fight, this war.

I hear the bell to my room and I say "Come in." not sure who it is.

The door opens revealing Miyu, the lynx comes over to me and she says "Fox told me to keep an eye on you."

I sigh as I look to the ceiling and I think 'Keep an eye on me? I'm currently decommissioned!'

Miyu says "I know that look, you want to get back to the field."

I say "It's not just that, I'm trying to show I'm not useless to you guys."

Miyu says "Don't be so hard on yourself, if anything I think your a tough nut to crack." with a wise smile.

I think 'Yeah, right.' as I roll my eyes and I say "Depends on the situation I guess."

Miyu says "what would you like to do?" with a light smile.

I think 'I'm going to get into trouble for this, but let's roll the dice.', I move the blanket off me, I sit up and I say "I'm going to reinforce on the planet, they need all the help they can get!"

Miyu crosses her arms and she says "And how are you going to get down there? The Phalanx is trashed and you don't have access to the transporter."

I sigh, Miyu's right how am I going to do this?

Miyu says "Unless, someone were to help you." with a witty smile and playing catch with what looks to be an acess card.

I realize what she's doing and I say "I thought you were told to keep an eye on me?" with a raised eyebrow.

Miyu says "I am, but I wasn't told to restrain you." still using that smile.

I smile and I begin to put my suit on. After putting my suit on, Miyu and I head to the transporter as fast as we can, we enter the room to an amazing sight. There's a vehicle on a pad, the main body looks sort of like an arwing, it has a g-defusion system, it has four wheels, a massive top-mounted beam cannon and it's in the same colors of an arwing.

Miyu says "Behold, the landmaster the tank of Star Fox!"

As cool as it looks a tank is suppose to have continuous tracks but the wheels seem to have specialized treads, so who knows.

Miyu says "Get in the landmaster, we're going to be lending heavy fire support."

I say "I've never used one of these before!"

Miyu says "It's easy, it's almost like using an aircraft in terms of controls."

I say "I'll take your word for it." and get into the tank.

Miyu messes with a nearby terminal, she gets in the tank, a loud hum begins to sound, light creeps in, enveloping us, a blinding flash happens, I feel the tank suspension in action as lush trees and plants replace the light taking my sight.

Miyu says "Welcome to Fortuna, are you ready to kick some tail?!" with a smile.

I nod, I say "Landmaster rolling out!" and I have the tank move forward, as well as activate my comms.

I hear "This is Fox, we're pinned down! We need help and we need it NOW!", I think 'Help's on the way Fox!' and I floor the tanks accelerator with it's booster.

The landmaster smashes through the forest, we clear the forest to see a massive battlefield.

Miyu says "You have control of the main gun as well, the landmaster is meant for one person to use."

I become instantly confused as the tanks on Earth usually require four people to use, I find the guns control system and I activate it. Targeting data appears on the tanks cockpit screens and I say "Landmaster, ready to obliterate targets!"

I hear Fox "Adam? What are you doing here?" with shock.

Miyu says into her comm "Neither of us will stand by Fox while you and the others are in harms way."

I hear Fox "Miyu, you were... very well. Just go easy with the landmaster, it's one of a kind."

With that the rest of the team begins to feed the tank target data, I fire the beam cannon at the presented targets, Venom tanks explode, bunkers shatter in a flash all while the landmaster moves with great agility. The Venom forces end up retreating after a bit of time, Fox gives the order to bring the landmaster in, I get the tank over to them, Miyu and I leave the tank and we make our way to everyone else.

Miyu says "Reporting for duty Fox!"

Fox comes up to me and he says "You're just as stubborn as I am." with a smile.

I say "Fox?" taken completely off guard.

Fox says "What I mean is, sometimes disobeying orders can lead to better outcomes, just don't make a habit out of it." with a light smile.

I say "Did it work?"

Fox says "For the units that made planetfall it has worked to an extent, but we've managed to break the stalemate."

I say "So, what's next?"

Fox says "We take the base, it won't be easy but now that we have the landmaster we should be able to break through."

I say "Just give the word Fox." as I salute.
