Chapter Eight: The Power of Three, Part Two

Billy smiled as he opened his eyes, his body had been changed anew and far better thoughts filled the head of the enemy as he stepped forward.

“Kill the Outsiders.”

Billy held his hands out, his blue scales now immortalized with in layer of shining platinum, the metal itself taking after the old shape. The dragon felt his knees grow strong, his arms bulk up and his entire body turn into a better version of itself, he felt strong. He felt invisible, the dragon felt like nothing in the world could stop him.

“Kill those who oppose the nanobots.”

“Make them pay. Tear them limb by limb.”

A thousand voices whispered sweet suggestions into his mind and the dragon sliced his hand out. Like his traitorous husband, he felt the nanobots with in his hand ready to rearrange themselves and make themselves stronger for him. The dragon stepped forward, his old hoodie changing into a long jacket, flipping the collar up and letting himself shine in the sunlight.

“No, make the Outsiders die slowly and painfully, let them feel the horror of everything that has happened to them tricefold.”

The dragon jumped up into the air and smashed forward, a power he never had before accelerating him at speeds. Crashing into Finn, the shark never saw it coming and like that Billy held the shark down with his now superior strength, Finn struggled there.

“Hold the Outsider and skin him.”

“Pull his teeth out then his claspers.”

“Beware of his thunder.”

“Make his body feel pain that the shark couldn’t imagine.”

Billy held his hands out, his fingers starting to change. Scales merging and then his hand turning into a pyramid shape; a pointed end held up into the sun. The dragon held the shark down knowing that he would strike him full of pain and fear. Finn stood there, the dragon his wings eclipsing the sun as he held up the sword.

And then he striked, Billy punctured the shark’s heart. Isaac screaming in pain as Finn’s entire chest was ripped open, Billy enjoyed it as blood splashed onto his face. His sword pushed through the skin and tore open ribs and then right through the beating muscle, tearing it into two.

“Good my son, you have defeated one of them.” Joss, Billy’s master and the leader of the nanobots spoke into his ear. The dragon kicked the shark and jumped off, flipping and opening his wings floating for a few seconds. Isaac stood their empty of emotions and then pale in the face.

“I’m sorry nanobots, you might think that you killed him but honestly do you think I would leave him without some sort of defense?” Isaac smiled and faced them, dropping his brief façade. An orange light blasted from Finn’s chest, the injuries of the shark quickly repairing themselves as bone mended and muscle healed, new layers of skin formed.

Billy wiped the blood of his face as it burned. The entire shark covered in a layer of regeneration energy. The two nanobots stood still for a second while Isaac smiled victoriously. The shark’s eyes flew open and then Finn stood up completely rehumanized.

“So then Billy you think you can one turn into a nanobot and then think you can kill me, I would commend you for that but you must be stupid then.” Finn walked forward holding his hand out, stretching his fingers as a spark flew between them arcing up his arm and then around his body.

Finn jumped forward, holding his hand out. Billy took the opportunity and grabbed the shark on his forearm, twisting him around and knocking him into the steel wall. Finn groaned as he landed on the floor, but he dusted himself off and opened his hand again.

Three blasts of thunder were directed towards the dragon, Billy closed his wings around his body, the blasts deflected and knocked chunks of nanobot out of the wall. The dragon opened his wings and flew down at full speed, holding his hands out. Finn grabbed Billy’s hands and the two stood in front of each other facing the other as the dragon pushed forward.

Finn’s hands sparked but Billy resisted the energy, they were in the middle of the room both a layer of energy flowing out as the two clashed. The two stood still for a pure second even peaceful, but Billy knew he had control with his wings.

“So then shark let’s see if your energy can do this!” Billy screamed out, his grip tightening, his wings straightening and a layer of red energy surrounding him. The Outsider held his ground pushing back with his arms, his gambit wasn’t ready yet.

Finn started to groan in pain as his feet dug into the ground and his heels work into the nanobots. Hands started to pull at his feet and tried to get his balance thrown off.

“Let me go, you know you can’t win and when I do, I will free you and I will make sure you are reunited with Ross because when I see you two together I am inspired to make my love for Isaac even better!” Finn kicked his left foot and gained freedom, and pulled his right free of the hands.

The shark pushed forward and did all he could, smiling as sparks flew up his body and to his hands. And then with the smuggest of smiles, Finn started his technique. Sparks surrounded his body, his entire skin shining blue through against the yellow electricity which engulfed him like an aura and pushed back at the nanobot’s own.

“Shinespark!” Finn screamed as he twisted his hands and his body took off, with both of their feet of the ground it was a power battle. Billy and Finn screamed, shark versus dragon. Finn felt his jacket flap in the wind, Billy’s metallic jacket did not do the same.

And then the shark pushed the right amount of energy, a massive bolt of energy below him and exploding them upwards. Finn smiled taking the advantage, screaming with full power as his entire figure turned blue all of it forced up to Ross and engulfing him as the two followed the parabola.

Finn pushed as hard as he could, sparks flying up his body and arcing into Billy’s wings, the poor thing was smashed into the metallic wall. A massive puff of smoke was released and Finn smiled as Isaac raised his hand and held him up. Billy went to fast to be absorbed into the wall and groaned as he stood there, a fractured crater in his place.

“Well, well, look at this, I think we ought to have a bit of conversation Joss because it seems that the longer we are exposed to your nanobots the weaker they become and the stronger we do.” Finn bragged, to the anger of the leader, gripping his hand and growling.

Billy was dislodged from the wall and Finn caught him by the hand as Isaac lowered him. This would have went well expect for the dragon opening his eyes, quickly he smashed his body forward. Finn groaned as he hit the wall, quickly Billy went to work twisting around and holding Finn as he smashed him into the other wall.

Billy let the shark go and floated down, while Finn tumbled down. Isaac opened his hand again and grabbed Finn in the air. The shark opening his eyes and jumping off with a gravity boost. Finn yelled out as he opened his hand and placed it on the wall, sparks flying out and the Outsider getting attached to the wall.

Finn ran forward, his body bounded to the wall by his electricity powers and magnetism. Isaac took a breath of relief and turned towards Joss, the dragon smiling as he walked forward and transformed his face into a copy of Isaac’s own face. The shark backed up and the shark approached the other, walking slowly with his hands crossed behind his back.

“So then Finn the optimists and Isaac the pessimist, I would say that was true in the beginning but slowly I’ve seen you changed, you aren’t as much of a dick as you were before. Before I would swear that my agents noted you only cared for Finn and at that mildly, what did change that?” Isaac’s face on Joss spoke as he held his hand out and trapped the shark in place, even their clothes matched.

“Well I have to say it was the idea of having such a nice longcoat to wear on my body and you know what I think it was the time spent away from my father, and the danger of the nanobots. When one person you care about can die, well I suppose that you begin to care for the others.” The true Isaac concluded, looking up he smiled at Finn’s face.

The Outsider jumped off the wall and kicked at Billy, the dragon grabbing it and spinning it off the shark, knocking Finn into the wall. The shark recovered and jumped off again this time grabbing Finn’s wings. The shark and dragon tumbled down, even as Billy tried to call at Finn.

The two crashed into the ground and Finn was in trouble, Billy slashed forward and cut through Finn’s shoulder, blood bleeding out and running down his arm, dislocated from his hand. Finn ran forward with one hand, the other bending around and fired a blast of energy.

Billy’s body opened up around the blast and the dragon smiled with a smugness on his face. Finn stood still as he took a breath, he didn’t have much regeneration energy left and he knew he couldn’t use his other hand. Isaac turned away from Joss and raised both of his hands, pushing both nanobot warriors away from him.

Joss fell to the ground and as he raised his head, appeared in his normal body all shiny and all. Joss snapped his hand and once again the cage of Forester O’Neill was drug out of the wall. The shark standing there with a disappointed smile on his face, but smug as if he had figured something out.

“Son stop that now, you don’t have powers.” Forester spoke and Finn looked over as the two dragons were pushed back. Isaac blushed and lowered his hands, his head facing down to the ground. Crossing them over his hips and looking away trying to avoid the glare of his father, it would be the glare that could kill.

“Isaac no!” Finn screamed as Billy rammed forward and grabbed the Outsider in his broken arm, smashing him on the wall, the shark screamed.

“Isaac yes.” Joss whispered to himself as he walked away, knowing the battle at this point would be all but finished. Billy slashed and clawed at the shark, Finn tried to resist as held his hands forward, sparks flying from his body. Finn yelled out, falling down to the ground and letting the dragon attack him.

“No, you don’t understand.” Finn spoke from his position. Billy backed off as with his good hand the shark knocked him back with a layer of electricity. The dragon tumbled back and Finn watched, the shark having no control of his powers anymore. The shark took a step forward and tried to escape from his situation.

“Because I believe in Isaac and I believe that he is good, I know that he can keep me satisfied and protect me and that at the end of the day, no matter what the xenophobic, sexist asshole says to him, he knows to follow his heart, isn’t that right Isaac?” Finn spoke as he looked over to his shark, Isaac looked up whimpering with his big old eyes. Finn felt his heart melt, if only it wasn’t an asshole creating that.

“No, it’s not Isaac. You can be forgiven for your sins, you don’t have to be a superhero you can hide your powers and rebel from the attraction of men, if men were made to lay with me then it would produce another child. Listen to your father, isn’t he always right.” Forester said with smugness and Finn looked over to him, Isaac stood still and had a choice to make.

“When we first slept together Isaac, when we first made love.” Finn yelled out, must to the distain and distaste of Forester, “I told you I would love you forever, and I would let you know that you were the best person I know and you should know that I love you.” Finn spoke and Isaac ignored what his father said next, he raised his hand and Billy was forced on the wall.

“Joss consider your deal accepted take this asshole back and put him in a place because I have some choice words for later but leave us alone, take Billy or leave him but know that we will come to get him later.” Isaac turned to Joss who nodded raising his hand and pushing the shark in his cage away, Isaac smiled as he waved his hand away.

“No you can’t do this to me, your own father you would betray then a gay man, over me your own father!” Forester screamed out as he finally broke his smug look and trusted on the cage, trying to escape his imprisonment. Finn smiled as Joss smiled then snapped his hand, Billy backing off.

“I will take you on that offer to get Billy back, come fellow dragon.” Joss spoke as he grabbed the back of the dragon and the two started to merge into the nanobot wall. Nearly half way through, Joss poked his head out. “Also Isaac, your father will be through that door, I look forward to hearing your choice words.”

“I’m sorry for that Finn, sometimes I can’t control myself around him and he is a bully but he has been dealt with and he not for a moment longer has control over me and not a single ounce of respect from me.” Isaac spoke as he walked over and grabbed the shark by his good and carefully put his arm around Finn’s back, helping him up.

“Don’t worry, I think I can with this one.” Isaac held his hand out over Finn’s shoulder and with a twist of his hand, his arm was relocated into his socket with a satisfying pop and groan from Finn. Finn bent his arm around, feeling a little pain as he held it out.

Isaac stood still for a second, with that smug but vulnerable look on his face and with his healed arm Finn threw himself around Isaac. The shark twisted them around before locking his lips on Finn, he hugged the shark. Isaac didn’t need to kiss Finn to show love, he just hugged him, feeling the comfort of the touch of another man.

Which is why it hurt him as he threw Finn to the ground, Isaac turned around and tried to ignore choice words from Finn. The shark throwing his arms up and Isaac looked forward at the console in front of him. It was Joss’s teleporter, and Isaac quickly imputed some DNA coordinates into the system.

“I’m sorry Finn but you can’t be around for what I’m doing next, but I am going to get my father and Billy back, and if I die well you weren’t around.” Isaac spoke as Finn walked towards him filled with anger but levelheaded, the shark pausing as he extended his hand out and Isaac smiled, Finn disappearing in a flash of light.

Isaac saw the tear run down Finn’s check, but he ignored that clearing the system of Iren’s DNA code and instead opening up a hologram to encourage him. San Diego stood in front of him, the city burned and destroyed by the conflict. Kagens and Riftwalkers seemed to be flying north-easterly, but the shark ignored that and looked at the city.

“Would this have happened if I were only to have not been lazy and tried harder, during the peace to use my powers to force Riftwalkers and Kagens together, but shame about it then is I have no idea what would have happened to Finn, would I then have the drive to save him?” Isaac asked himself the questions he had on his mind as he faced everything he tried before to put behind him.

The shark didn’t deserve to wear the longcoat he had on, it was for a hero but in reality, Isaac knew he wasn’t a hero. A tear ran down his own cheek as he knew what he was on the inside, he was selfish. Finn’s revival was so he wouldn’t die in vain and thusly Finn’s heroic death was taken away, the shark did all he could in the first year to avoid the nanobots, and lazily researched them.

“If only I had tried harder, to have the motivation I need. I blame you to behind my DNA Forester, I am ashamed of all you have given me. My mother might have been crazy but at least she gave me my looks and my powers. I might not be a hero but I am not going to let a dick like that get away with all he has done to me.” Isaac spoke as he pulled his arms through the jacket and threw the longcoat onto the floor, he had to face his fears now and this was the biggest, it was his own father.

The Outsider took a breath, shutting down the hologram and walking over to the door, standing still for a moment in front of the door. Joss seemed to be either ignorant over what he heard, or didn’t hear, maybe he welcomed the challenge today. Isaac saw the light in front of him, shining in front of his body as he stepped forward and faced his past, present and future, walking into the door.

Hell erupted on Earth, massive spouts of fire and energy shooting into the sky, the ground of the entire base shook and Iren ducked for cover. Basil and Bright quickly ran and raised a table, shielding it with energy as wayward blasts of energy smashed through windows.

Ross held his hands high, his metallic body resistant to the energy blasts. The dragon enwrapped his wings around his body and walked carelessly through the cafeteria, fire bouncing off his body, his feet not concerned with the glass shattered or the wayward utensils struck down.

“Come on you two, get behind me and then we will take this fight to them!” Ross yelled, but with calmness in his voice as if he figured out what happened. The two quickly took shield behind the nanobot warrior and walked through the base. Iren kept ducked down as she watched the dragon approach.

“Iren get up, you know it is time now.” Ross told her, the three of them ducking down and preparing for a fight. Ross extended his hand forming a sword and looking over to the basement. Barry ran out, his hand opened and a green energy core exposed.

“Whooo, time to get some shit down!” Barry yelled as he opened fired on the wall, shooting out counterstrikes into the window. The second nanobot warrior ducked as the Kagens returned fire. The metal of the tables burned and the cafeteria was set on fire, blazing, the roof collapsing slowly.

“And what do you want us to do?” Iren looked around and saw hell erupting around her, cracks forming in her base. Demons invading and trying to take away all she had gathered, her skills as a leader were useless. She had no reason to attempt anything now.

“I don’t know, when shit goes down we all look to you. So are you going to let us die or will you lead us into this new dawn. And plus when the Kagens strike hard, we strike back even harder and when the Riftwalkers strike hard, we strike them harder as well. So I figure if both of them or striking with everything we got, then we have no reason to give it everything we have and more.” Ross spoke and he extended out his hand again. Iren stood there, amazement on her face.

“Yes I know you probably taught me but you were the best mentor I could ever have, now let’s get out there and kick some ass.” Ross humbly spoke as Iren jolted for and hugged the dragon, both of them blushing as they remembered all they went through and how much Ross had grown up as well.

“Now then I have an idea.” Iren smiled as she raised her hand, a purple energy radiating out of her finger.

The war was hell on Earth, at least closest to it. Anyone in the distance would have seen a massive fire, surrounding the base. Kagens and Riftwalkers wadding through the shit they had created. The warriors stepping forward carefully and preparing for a confrontation.

And then it all striked, energy blasts flew across the crumbled road. Riftwalkers ran forward and striked with everything they had, energy blasts knocked them back and then Kagens punched. The beasts grabbed people and dragged Riftwalkers into the fire, sure they could resist it but for how long the Kagens wondered.

The battle was amazing and it was hellish at the same time, which was why as Bright remembered the past, he remembered the one part he was glad to take part in. The reverse siege of Tahoe Valley, into the fire, metaphorically and literally the Outsiders walked.

And then Iren raised her hands, surrounded by a bubble of energy. Bright and Basil working together and surrounding the five of them. Soldiers had long abandoned post, not that Iren could blame them, fire pushed up at the building.

“Now then Kagens, it time to see what happens when you play on my battlefield for once!” Iren summoned all her anger, Finn’s parents, Michelle, Erick, Finn, and Edison all layered her mind and she screamed out as she clapped her hands together into the middle of the air. Her entire body and the air around her shook as she stored energy, the blasts of fire and energy stopped as everyone looked.

“Supreme Shockwave!” Iren screamed and slammed her hands down and just like the gust of wind between your arms, a gust of wind like a hurricane blasted out from her. Trees lost their entire set of leaves, Kagens and Riftwalkers knocked back a few feet and the crumbled road removed from the battle. The ground shook but as the wave of wind blasted out, the fire was taken with it.

Iren held her hands out and twisted around as she controlled the wind around her, spinning around she manipulated the fire. Kagens and Riftwalkers backed up as it spun around like a tornado and then with a smile on her face, Iren punched up into the air.

And like her fist, the fire followed upwards. Twisting up into the air and burning out as all the fuel was removed. Basil and Bright smiled, standing opposite of each other. Iren looked forward and held her hands out ready to stop any wayward Kagen, Barry standing on the other side, ready to stop the Riftwalkers.

The Kagens stood still for a second, unsure of what happened. The Riftwalkers stood their seemingly as confused as the other group. Iren smiled and took a few breaths, this was war and war meant to strike with ruthlessness even when your enemies were down.

She raised her hands up into the air and threw them forward, another shockwave this time filled with psychic energy not controlled by it. And as it passed through the Kagens rather harmlessly they laughed for a second. The group not realizing their entire body glowing purple.

Iren laughed and held her hand up into the air, and the Kagens followed. Ross put his hand on her shoulder. Holding the Outsider down as Kagens pushed and pulled at the psychic bond they were trapped within. Iren was strained but Ross took a breath, he knew she could do it.

And the Outsider managed, the Kagens were ripped up through trees knocking branches and leaves out of their way as they floated a hundred or so feet above the ground.

“Now then any normal idiot would let you hit terminal velocity on the way now but we are the Outsiders and were not normal idiots. Were some super idiots because we let assholes like you still exist, and in punishment for that, take this!” Iren slammed her hand down and the Kagens all crashed through the trees. Barry smiled turning his back on the Riftwalkers, the other group equally amazed.

Kagens slammed into the ground, a thousand or so poofs of dust being sent up into the air as Iren bowed for them. Some of the lucky Kagens hit branches on the way down and were able to slow themselves down, others glowed orange with regeneration energy in their personal crater.

“Now then good job, I think I can take this from here. Knock enough of them out and confuse them for a while, and Barry I think you ought to do your job on the Riftwalkers as well.” Ross suggested as he jumped out of the bubble, the dragon flying forward and striking his sword into the unregenerated hearts of Kagens.

Blood spilled out onto his metal body and onto the metallic armor of the Kagens, Ross jumped off trees and plunged his sword. All due revenge for what happened to Michelle in the end, he savored this battle he savored the time to finally prove what he was worth and like that the Kagens were confused, their leader dying in a crater.

“So then Riftwalkers, say hello to my little friend!” Barry imitated a Cuban accent for a second and held his hand up into the air, pushing down on his mental trigger and firing many green bullets into the air. Holding his hand still, the nanobot did all the work he had to mentally. Tidus smiled as he ran out of the building with guns around his neck and started to fire.

Shots flew forward and stuck into the hearts of Riftwalkers, knocking them down to the ground and killing most. The piles of body stacked up as they bled out into their personal armor. Barry smiled seeing his revenge, this was for what happened to him, what happened at Ross’s wedding. The nanobots took everything away from him, including his brother, using it to end the sickening war was all but him finding his peace with his new powers.

“Well then men, I think we’ve shaken this up enough. I say we retreat while we can and find a new place.” Iren nodded and smiled as she looked forward at the confused groups in front of her. Snapping her fingers, the base exploded and all of their knowledge was gone but they gained something.

Iren took the eastward path and quickly the Outsiders vanished into the forest as quickly as they came into it. The Kagens and Riftwalkers confused if they had any enemy in the beginning anyway. Iren smiled and stepped forward, as she walked down the mountain looking down at her homestead of Carson City.

Isaac walked forward through the white light and looked forward at his father, he was standing there a worthless shark. His expensive jacket replaced with rags as he leaned on the bars. Isaac smiled seeing the depths his father had finally been dragged down to, it felt satisfying and he felt powerful standing over the old man.

“So then is this what you wanted son?” Forester asked as he bowed to his son, sinking down the bars to Isaac feet.

“What are you talking about?”

“You know what I mean, reduce our name to rubble. Reduce our name to nothing, destroy the O’Neill name and all we worked on. I was going to be famous, I was going to produce space habitats but your mother got into the way and I had to run building up our name again while you fucked about with that stupid Outsider in Carson City!” Forester said as if begging for pity.

“I’m sorry let’s talk about that; I do not fuck about with Finn Harris. He is my love and I think after this stupid war ends, I am going to marry him.” Isaac looked over to his old man and he held his hand forward, revealing what he never noticed a simple golden ring on his finger.

“You betray me and your bloodline as well, your cutting out your rich blood to this world. It should be given as a gift that world begs for your genetics!” Forester spoke and Isaac once again smiled.

“Well I’m sorry if I never saw myself as more than white trash for my superpowers that I have.” Isaac held his hand back and the wall was pushed back, denting and bending as he squeezed.

“Your mother might have corrupted my genes, but she was a shark and I was desperate to reproduce, your bloodline is still worth something more even if she tainted it with superpowers.” Forester stopped screaming much to the joy of Isaac’s ears.

“I’m sorry but if you think my mother was ever better than you, I will not let you speak of her like that. She might have been crazy but all she did was love me more than you have ever had, and had you not!” Isaac screamed and then he took a breath and smiled. “Everything that she had ever gone crazy about was because of you.”

“And here is a little food for thought, if the shark bloodline is so pure then how come my boyfriend also has a shark child with a tiger, you know the one. She’s our leader and I respect that boy, Tidus, so much and consider him a son of mine as well.” Isaac spoke as he looked down at his father, seeing all the barriers he had built up collapse.

“You mean the large shark that’s as old as you?” Forester asked confused.

“No named after him.” Isaac looked down, seemed like a good enough lie to spout. His father’s hands twitched on the bars, his face sweaty and his eyes unblinking as he looked forward at the heathen he created. Isaac smiled seeing his father collapse, this was what he deserved.

“And if you think that is all, then let me tell you. I love Finn Harris, I love men, I love dick so much I could take three in my mouth right now.” Isaac joked for his father’s health and he could tell that Joss was smiling beyond as he pushed his father’s buttons.

“Now then about those space cylinders you wanted to create, they were useless they would never work unless we had the stupidity to break the planet and had to evacuate. And let’s talk about your short lived job at NASA, how long did it last a year or so and then you were back gambling my mother’s money away in Las Vegas!” Isaac pointed out.

“And then let’s talk about our name, besides those goddammed cylinders I don’t see our last named plastered across the head of buildings or on steaks or planes, I don’t see any reason to think of us as famous and yet you do. You live in a delusional world and I think you need to wake up!” Isaac was fully screaming at his father, the man scraping at the floor of the cage as he backed up to the bars at the back, trying to escape the truth.

“And then lets logically evaluate your trying to rebuild our name. You might think that building up your name on Casino’s banned list is something to be proud of and might make you famous but while you were doing that, I was fighting the nanobots, Kagens and Riftwalkers in Carson City, while you were doing shit!” Isaac looked down as the cage shrunk, Forester was forced to face the truth.

“No, no, no!” Forester started to metronome as Isaac finally found the truth in his life, his father had lied to him. And he lied well, for so long the shark was afraid of a man he was better than.

“And if you don’t think I didn’t notice, I let you take the Outsider money from my account so you could gamble it off. And had you looked on the bank stamps on the site, oh no you did I guess. You knew that I was an Outsider and denied that for so long until the world became inconvenient and the only way to fame would be to use my connections, while simultaneously denying them to make yourself famous by tricking the nanobots into ending this war!” Isaac calmly yelled as he made the conclusion and Forester fell to the floor.

“You are a xenophobic, racist, sexist, superist, lying, cheating, bastard asshole and you manipulate people to comfort yourself because you can’t grow up accept there are gay people, they fuck their asses with their dicks, there are sometimes other races and you can’t eat them, and get a goddammed job!” Isaac yelled out and Forester collapsed, the cage being pulled into the wall as Isaac took a breath and smiled.

“Well, well, well it looks like someone had a good breakthrough.” Clapping and emerging from the wall silhouetted by light, Joss stepped out and looked at the shark as he stood there. He smiled and commanded Billy to stay at the door edge, the dragon not moving.

“I know, I feel so alive and fresh. Like I could do anything, maybe I could go to the moon and then crash into the Kagens and Riftwalkers!” Isaac smiled as he looked over to the nanobot man who had a bit of a frown on his face. Isaac stood still for a second, confused.

“What happened?” Isaac asked and Joss opened his hand, a hologram forming in his hand. The destroyed and burnt base on showcase, Isaac stood still confused for a second until he saw the strike of energy from a Kagen. He frowned and looked over to the nanobot. “This better have a good punchline because this joke is sucking so far.”

“The Outsiders are okay, there were some casualties with the troops but the six their got out, and Finn teleported to them.” Isaac took a breath, the way that Joss threw around casualties. He took a breath and knew that his time here was over.

“Well then my father is a looser, consider him a gift from me to you. But I think you’re going to keep Billy sadly but don’t worry small fry we will be back for you eventually.” Isaac spoke and Joss nodded, both held out their hand and then the shark was engulfed in a white light, his body teleporting.

Iren led the Outsiders out to the only place she knew off, the remains of Carson City. Opening her eyes, she looked out over the burned and charred ground of the nuked city. And it saddened her, all the other bases in the valley were claimed for them. They had nowhere else to go and nowhere to run to.

Finn teleported to them and hugs were exchanged, the shark telling Ross of his lover’s plight. And then the seven of them sat down in the somewhat radioactive grass, not really affected by it at al. And contemplated the world, just as Isaac did with his father.

“So them we’ve lost what now? Our soldiers, our base, most of our equipment save some guns, no food, no water, both sides and possibly nanobots hunting us down. I say we do nothing and wait for our deaths.” Iren proposed as she looked out of the desert, the interstate was empty, no cars or caravans passed through.

“What the hell is the world even doing at this point?” Tidus asked as he looked forward, hoping a TV might fall from the sky and turn on CNN. Surely the twenty-four-hour news networks would have tons of news to report. “Headline: Outsiders lose battle in hilarious fashion, watch them as they die in the radioactive desert.”

“Well, I’ll go get the nooses, I might need eleven. So much for the honeymoon phase this regeneration was.” Bright spoke and leaned down on the ground, the grass blowing in his hair. Basil smiled as he leaned down and kissed him on the nose, the two smiling as they at least found happiness in each other.

“Well then for us non-immortals, non-mortals, say we do nothing and relax, there has to be a town. Maybe we go off to Reno or Las Vegas, gamble off everything we have and try to build a nice beach house in Mexico.” Finn spoke as he leaned down in the grass as well, the mountain looking nice as clouds passed over. Wind probably carrying radioactivity, blasted through his hair and it felt nice.

“Well then, I see no reason. To Reno, Nevada; we’ve done all we can with this war and the second those peace treaties ended.” Well this Earth was doomed, was the thought mainly in Iren’s head as she pondered what had happened when did everything get messed up?

“Yeah, Nevada needs a new capital city and I doubt that Las Vegas is as cleaned up as we would like it, so Reno sounds like a nice venture. Send us out to pasture and build a new Governor’s mansion there.” Ross added as he leaned back, opening his jean jacket and letting the cool wind blast over his chest.

“Did you always have abs and pecs like that?” Iren looked over at the dragon, only noticing now the valleys between his muscles that he had. The muscles on his arm tight and fatless, Tidus and Finn turned their heads as well and both were amazing, the dragon was practically ripped in his body.

“What the hell is your secret?” Basil asked as he looked over, his legs weren’t even that good and he spent two months walking five thousand or so miles through a desert.

“Nanobots and lifting fifty pounds of metal everytime I use my power.” Ross added and Finn leaned back.

“Oh my God, we spent so much effort trying not to sexualize you but you managed to sexualize yourself, bless Billy when we get him back.” Finn leaned back into the grass actually surprised as he put his hand onto his head and felt the sweat coming down. And then white light appeared in front of them, the influence of gravity was stronger and Finn realized that Isaac was back.

“Oh welcome back to Carson City Outsiders, I am taking a lead now and consider this, first off Finn hide your boner, that’s for me. Ross hide your ripped body and put on an actual shirt, Basil and Bright continue what you’re doing and Tidus stop looking at your godfather that way.” Isaac quickly rattled off, Finn leaning back up and covering his hips. Tidus turning his head the other way and blushing, Ross blushed as well.

“Now then some of you want to gamble off your money, but we’re better than that. We have superpowers and today we embraced them, Tidus grab your guns, Basil and Bright continue being cute together, Finn get in my arms, Iren be a better mother and tell your son how to control his feeling and Ross keep looking cute, jailbait.” Isaac smiled as he turned around, everyone keeping still. “Did I question myself. No, now everyone up.”

Finn looked over to Iren who smiled, the shark standing up. He smiled and wrapped his arms around the shark. Isaac kissing with a loving embrace, Ross still blushing as he covered up his body. Tidus looked over to his mother who just shook her head and stood a few feet away on the opposite side.

Basil opened his wing and shaded Bright as the two walked out into the sunlight, the Kagen shark with his arm around the Riftwalker. Least they found peace, energy blasts behind them shot up from the ongoing war. And Isaac lead them forward, because in his mind they were Outsiders.

“Now then men and women, forward, because will win this war to prove something to everyone. We are not to be pushed around, we are as mortal as any man and that the Kagens and Riftwalkers need to take a few lessons in humility soon!” Isaac walked them forward into the sunset over the radioactive land, the victorious trumpet playing in his head. A full orchestra, his team members playing the other instruments.

Finn was the base, and Tidus the guitar. Iren was the violin. Basil, the piano and Bright the drums, and Ross had the triangle and together in his head they made something more, they made a song that would be win. And Isaac might have been right or he might have been crazy but he knew that walking into the land of Carson City, he might have been proving that right but the shark knew with his combination of Outsiders he had a winning formula.

Elias sipped on his tea slowly as he remembered the future, and then someone walked into the room. Colin, the blind lizard dragged his tail over the plywood floor smiling. The shark turned and smiled, his boyfriend smiled back as well. He closed his journal, and jumped up hugging the lizard.

“He did it, Dustin managed to heal Ronan!” Colin joyfully spouted as the two embraced. As he kissed the lizard, he felt a bit of guilt. His journal, what he remembered told him weird things about what happened and remembering Basil was an entirely different set of feelings. Benji even more so...

But the shark kept his cool and the two made their way over to the Outsider base, thanks to the work of Dustin; Ronan and Twilight had been subdued. The future had been changed, everything was going to the shark’s plan and as he ran up the tiled staircase of the building, the lizard pulling him with one hand on the rail, they stepped out onto the roof.

“So then you two, were you going to wait until we got here and left to start kissing?” Elias teased, he was never known as the dragon emperor to Colin or Dustin, nor did Ronan ever become a major enemy. In fact, if he was remembering right he had never been to the end of the Earth, nor had he come back and faced Ronan leading the Neuroseekers.

The four Outsiders stood over New York, buildings raising up into the cloud and floating cars hovering by. In fact, as it seemed this Elias’s life seemed to take a completely different path, which was weird because sometimes Elias saw a man named also Elias and saw of his sacrifice.

In both worlds, New York was saved, the Neuroseekers put down and the world saved. But in one, sacrifice awaited. The war never ended, the Riftwalkers pushed the Kagens back and they destroyed themselves giving all their energy to one single Elias, Bright. And in that timeline Elias shuttered at what he saw, his counterpart lost everything. Benji, Basil and even Colin, Dustin and Ronan both dying at each other’s hand.

And it sickened him to know it was because of what happened in the Kagen War, the timelines somehow split and maintained themselves. But he didn’t know how it happened, he always had the feeling he would go to New York. Even as he watched over Benji again, he found himself breaking up with the shark again and finding himself with Colin in the underground base.

Thanks to their actions, the mutants didn’t escape and no one died. He smiled as he looked out into the sunset, he put his arms around Colin and smiled, the lizard whipping his tails. Elias leaned in and planted a kiss on Colin’s lip, the lizard kissing him back as well.

Ronan and Dustin smiled as they leaned over and kissed as well, and the sunset descending under the clouds. The shark wondered what sacrifice had to be made in the other universe, but for him everything was happy. Dustin smiled and leaned his legs over the edge of the building, ice forming in his hand, his powers saved them all.

Dustin smiled and leaned in, Ronan was amazing and was everything he could ever want in a man. He forgave all of his bullying and knew that it was all worth it in the end, and he let them be engulfed in the nighttime. Colin and Elias smiled as they looked out over the city, the happiness spread to everyone.
