Chapter Six: Wheel of Time, Part Two

Barry jumped forward, his arm blaster firing into a few Kagens invading the base's basement. Through determination and fighting the Outsiders managed to hold of the Kagens for an impressive amount of time. As he held his hand forward, well, his arm blaster, the nanobots that formed his body radiating out from his arm into a cannon, he fired three blasts of energy.

The Kagens fell to the ground and this time didn't regenerate. Barry took a breath of fresh air, while behind him he looked at the Riftwalker shargon running on the wall of the cafeteria and holding his hand out, and thusly his sword. It slashed through the surprised Kagens and knocked them down.

Basil jumped off and landed on a table, throwing the sword forward and slashing through a few more. The Riftwalker teleported away to his sword and a few more Kagens started to regenerate. Basil smiled and held the sword up again, energy gathering in the blade as he shifted his fingers, another sword blasting out.

“Now then let's see how the shifting teleport works on you assholes." Basil held one end of the bigger sword and threw it forward again. This time holding it out, he teleported forward in steps his blade being covered in blood and golden energy as he slashed his way through regenerating Kagens.

Basil reformed and sheathed his sword, his wings closing up around it and the metallic holder, the Kagen adjusting his armor as he turned around. The Kagens screeched and all fell to the ground, dying as they properly should of.

But yet as the two stood victorious in front of the base, they suddenly felt the ground shake. As if a massive blast of energy was blasted forward and through the ground, erupting energy out and shaking the building itself. Basil turned to Barry and Barry looked at Basil with worry.

“That felt like Kagen energy, but the hairs on my neck stood up like electricity, so then I figure that Finn realized how to combine his powers." Basil spoke, that was another victory. Finn finding out the ways through his new powers and gaining new methods of fighting was a victory for them everyday.

And then the two of them froze, the Outsiders and Kagens, even Riftwalkers were all born with an innate sense of scanning energy around them. And as Basil put his hand out, he felt like he was swimming in soup. Barry felt it even more so with his scanners and Iren looking over the building, had a shiver run up her back. The two of them looked over to the other and once again turned, their senses were peaked and their senses could feel every single body around them.

A massive blue light shined through the light and they were covered in light as they looked forward. Basil knew that energy, it was the energy of a Kagen and a powerful one at the worst. Twilight had to be doing something awe inspiring, so that raised the question.

“Why the hell is Twilight fighting Finn on his own?" Barry asked, the shark had to be crazy to go up against the Outsider. Even Barry could feel the innate outwards power that Finn gave off, everyone felt it but it was something that they never acknowledged, it was just something they accepted.

Isaac's powers might have had the possibility to be the most useful but the way that Finn moved and the air of energy around him was what gave him power. The nanobots, the Kagens and the Riftwalkers all knew it. That was why when he stepped in the room, he had the figure of authority.

And then it shocked them even more when a tiny blip on their radar appeared, a mortal life had disappeared from this world.

Finn stood in his mind place, like the base around him, he felt his world was collapsing. Isaac was gone and he felt lonely, Iren was moving on from all that had happened in the past, Tidus had only accepted him as a friend but as a father their relationship had strained, Ross spent his nights lonely and Barry still regretted being the enemy themselves.

But Edison was different, Finn knew her kind and working soul for but a month, Isaac met her a few days earlier and it was strange. No one knew why she was working with them and no one knew who she really was. But now she stood there, a mortal temporal agent, a sword to her neck and the arm of an egomaniac twitching to move, it changed.

Finn saw her as a comp tent fighter before but now he saw her as a defenseless person and maybe that was what Twilight was intending. Edison had her hair waved out and her suit ruined with blood drips, maybe Kagen or hers. And her mouth, it was a frown, she was frowning but a drop of water ran down her face, she was crying. Finn saw her as nothing she had been before, she was useless and she needed held.

And with his hands up in the air, his hands covered in power trying to absorb or deflect the massive condensed energy sphere in front of him pushing down on his body and collapsing him into the truck, Finn knew that something bad was going to happen. It was the way that this war had turned, not even the war, it was the way that this entire timeline seemed to be going.

And as Twilight pulled back the energy sword, skin ripping open and blood cauterizing on the blade. Muscle fibers tearing past and then ripping through more blood vessels, the tubes of food, air and blood all being torn apart. Finn stood there as helpless as Iren, looking as the transit of the blade completing.

A tear ran down the shark's eye, Twilight smiling as he closed the blade and threw the metallic cylinder down to the ground. Finn tried to hold himself back, he had to and he had to control himself for the sake of his teammates, he couldn't skin down to the level that Twilight currently occupied.

And Finn stood there, his face shining blue as he pushed forward on the energy ball but he couldn't muster the energy to do anything. Twilight held the head Edison in his hand, her body slapping on the tank and a little blood spilling out from the body. But the way he held it, holding her up by her hair and waving her back and forth.

“Oh look at this, I wonder how preserved her mouth will be when I manage to get back to the base?" Twilight asked as he put his fingers on Edison, Finn stood there and his eyes shined for a second. He took a breath and then sparks flew up his body as he pulled his feet out of the truck.

Jumping forward the shark slapped the energy ball into the truck and flew over it, screaming with rage as he blasted forward surrounded with electricity. He grappled onto Twilight and squeezed down with all his might as the shark dropped the dead head. Finn couldn't look at it, but he knew that Twilight would die.

Iren broke down as tears ran down her face, but she had to do something. She stood up and her hair shifted back and forth, putting her hands forward. And holding still for a second she looked as the winds of chains blew, the truck flew up into the air as the energy blast hit it.

The oil inflamed instantly, Finn and Twilight floating into the air, fire surrounding them. Iren's power grabbed onto the truck and she turned her head looking at the convoy of unharmed Kagens, and she swiped her hand. A blast of wind following her lead as the truck was knocked off its path midair and crashed into the ground, hitting Kagens and crushing them.

“Give up Outsider, you can never win against immortals like us. We will always outnumber you and you cannot kill us that easily, it will take you millions of years in order to get us to die." Twilight pushed forward on Finn but the two auras of blue and black clashed and threw the fire around. Finn tried to speak, to break Twilight down and taunt him, but the Outsider only screamed.

As he roared out, spit flying forward and his teeth being barred, the wind blew with him sending the fire with him. And then with energy in his hands, he pulled back and held his fingers together. Electricity sparked and quickly fired out, blasting into Twilight. The Kagen shark took a look around as he was knocked past the fire and onto the ground.

The shark smiled and looked around gasping the head in his hand and standing up, the Kagen smiling at Finn. The Outsider floated into the air and then felt his energy snap, he fell to the ground and surrounded by the fire was useless. Twilight turned his head and smiled at Finn as he choose to walk past, making a path to the exit.

As Bright pushed the brakes to the RV, the entire vehicle came to a stop and Isaac looked up. A group had gathered, a motorcycle gang in front of them. Ross, the dragon with his wings open, stood up and looked out of the windshield. He was the first to open the door, as Isaac stepped out with him and then finally Bright.

“Well then looks like we have a group of Outsiders for us today, now then I see no reason to be hiding what is happening from you." A man, no as Bright walked forward he felt the energy he gave off through the ground, a Riftwalker stepped forward in front of his bicycle and looked at the two, the wolf grabbed his coat and flipped up the collar smiling.

“Who the hell are you?" Isaac asked, and the man simply took out a gun, and fired it. Bright and Ross gasped, but as the bullet traveled at Isaac it simply stopped inches in front of the shark, spinning around in place until the gravity powered Outsider flicked it out of the air like an annoying fly.

“Good shot kid, but you're now the property of the Riftwalkers. Everything you own is now ours, your RV, your keys and even the gas in there is all ours for the taking of the Riftwalkers." The man said as he stepped forward, his hair waving in the wind. “Now then Jelly, go take the smart one and see what they have."

A rather fat Riftwalker stepped of his bike and took a few steps forward, Isaac looking at him as he walked forward and put his hands on his back. Ross and Bright looked as Isaac was walked back into the RV. The two stood there as the man held his gun forward at the two, both of them putting their hands up.

“Now you're a Kagen, so you can regenerate and I'm sure the Kagens would like to know about a defector and pay us defectors as well. But your mortal and I don't think you would do well with a gun to your head, so to make a bit of a show I think I'll kill you first." The wolf said as he walked over and placed the gun right onto Ross's head, the dragon standing there on the road still as the bikers in front of him laughed.

“Now then I think you will be interested in knowing something, when you are killed you die. And I will make sure you die in a horribly painful way, and like that I can shoot you in the right way so that you don't instantly die." The Riftwalker threatened as he held the gun still and Ross shook.

“I'm sure we can reach some sort of compromise sir." Ross spoke as he kept his hands raised, the dragon working to escape somehow. The wolf laughed and then looking forward, the man obviously finding this funny in some sort of manner. The wolf backed off and raised his gun back into the air, holding it still as he looked around at the two.

“I'm not going to kill you, you will be cattle for us but don't be silly we aren't animals, you have superpowers and either way we can deal with you in different ways." The wolf said as Ross laughed as well, sighing in relief. But then the wolf turned around again, holding the gun in his hand.

They stood still for a few seconds Ross looking over to Bright as the two stood there, a creepy melody going through their heads as they stood prisoners. And then the wolf turned around again with a smile on his face.

“But then again, I am a man of my word." The wolf turned around and before Ross could even calculate, the Riftwalker clicked the trigger and fired. And then instantly they were inflamed with fire, a massive explosion blasting out from the center and engulfing the men with fire.

Bright stood still and looked over, the gun was still fired. Ross smiled as a metal layer covered his face and the bullet simply dropped down to the ground. But then who exploded the Riftwalkers? Bright walked forward a few inches looking at the explosion, the Riftwalkers were all dead and they wouldn't be hunting them any further.

Bright turned around and looked up, Isaac stood on top of the RV, in his hand the RPG, smiling as he jumped off. The shark landed softly on the ground, walking forward and letting his longcoat proudly wave in the air. Isaac smiled for a second, but walked past the Kagen, until a wave of energy pasted them by.

“The base is in trouble, Twilight!" Bright cried and Isaac realized that, the shark dourly walking over to a relatively unburned bike and turning the key to the ignition. The shark stepped out and turned the wheel, driving forward over the bloodied road and looking behind.

“Stay behind me, I need to get their first." Isaac ducked his head down and twisted the accelerator, the bike's engines roaring to life and sending a flock of birds flying. The shark drove forward quickly past the curve and continued on.

“Quickly let's go!" Bright yelled to Ross as both of them hightailed into the RV.

“High Brother Ignatius, we have news from the war. That pesky squad that couldn't decide if they were with us or not, has been destroyed by Isaac on a road. And on the other end of things, the Kagens under Twilight's command have shifted their focus over to the Outsiders at least temporarily." A Riftwalker spoke, in the dark halls of the Riftwalker base, in front of him and casting green light on his face a hologram display of Lake Tahoe, it updated with the war efforts.

“Ah so that is where the Outsiders have been hiding, have the Riftwalkers flank the remaining front Kagens in an attempt to draw Twilight out." Ignatius spoke, holding his hand over the hologram board and drawing a line through a passage and into a group of Kagens. The messenger nodded and opened his wings, walking out of the building and taking to the sky.

“So then the Outsiders have managed to become more then a footnote in this war, they have done something worth the history's book brief mention. I can only hope that Twilight will find the whole extent of the Outsider's power today." The Riftwalker Brother smiled as he looked out over the desert, the wind blowing through it.

The city of Carson City was no more, and that was the fault of the humans themselves surprising. For some reason that was always funny to the Riftwalker, he knew right where the citizens of Carson City would be heading anyway and maybe some of the humans would be surprised about what was living under their nose.

Ignatius walked away from the window and looked back at the hologram, the battle was being won for them. They managed to push the Kagens defenses away from Lake Tahoe and if the advance continued they would be able to climb the mountain to the lake and trap the Kagens, gaining their equipment and more importantly a way to bypass their shields and teleport right into bases in other universes.

And yet the Riftwalker knew that the same danger existed for him, but he had to accept that. The Riftwalkers were winning the battle but who would win the war, this was the first front and as other wars broke out in other universes who would stack the most, and who would be written as the victors and who would be written off as evil?

The Riftwalker let his mind populate with those ideas, the war practically ran itself, and he saw no reason to exercise his powers until the final assault that he knew was coming. The Riftwalker then stood up, he felt a wave of energy pass through his body. It was strange but he knew what it was.

“So then Twilight sees fight to fight in this war with his full power as well, I just hope that he will able to use that power on me." Ignatius stood with his hands forward and smiled. The Earth below him shook and he walked forward, the desert and the Earth shook to his command.

“Or who knows this war could still go either way and the nanobots have not involved themselves yet. And for all I know Bright could finally release his wildfire if pushed enough, but not with the Outsiders around or most of the mortals left on this world. He has class enough to know when to do that."

Twilight ran, as Iren jumped forward he threw a wave of energy towards her. And yet the Outsider seemed one step ahead with her own powers. A wall of purple energy was raised, seemingly whipping out and clipping into trees. Twilight's heels ran into the ground and the Kagen turned but found his path once again blocked.

The shark turned and took a second to prepare himself, with energy gathered in his legs. He jumped up, but once again the Outsiders had a method to prevent his escape. Quickly a sword appeared in front of his body, the shark being teleported in front of him. Wings of dragon opening up and blasting an energy wave forward.

“Energy the trip down, asshole!" Basil reached out and grabbed the head the agent, holding on to it. Twilight fell to the ground, smashing into the already crushed concrete but managing to once again make a crater. The shargon looked over to Finn and he carefully placed the head on a safe space, trying to ignore it.

Finn walked over and as Basil pulled out his sword and started to engage with Twilight, Finn walked over and looked at the head. Finn took comfort, selfish comfort in knowing that at least her death was quick. And yet the Outsider had a look of horror on her face, Finn looked as two soldiers braved into the battle with a body bag.

“Thank you, I can't much longer or else I might cry." Finn placed the head down into the bodybag of the silent soldiers and pointed them in the direction of Edison's other half. Another wave of energy blasted through Finn's body and he felt numb, he felt empty again.

Could Edison be revived as he was? Could she be brought back, Finn nearly fell to his knees. The pressure of the world buckling his knees as he turned towards the battle, he wanted Isaac. He wanted to cry but he had to focus on the problem in front of him.

Basil jumped forward, two dagger swords in his hand as he slashed down in an x shape. Twilight held his hands up and the blades dug into his hands, but the same effect could not be fashioned. Finn took a breath and wobbled forward, hand out as he gathered energy.

“Electric Shot!" Finn cried out as he twisted his hand and threw the ball forward, his steps afterwards tumbling the shark forward. Twilight turned and was distracted as the energy crashed into his chest and knocked him back. Twilight was knocked back and his back clashed with the ground again.

Finn got his standing and ran forward, crossing his hands. As the time passed forward the shark found a second wind. His mind was filled with the brief but retrospective of Edison's contribution to the team and what urged him the most was the fact that she managed to save Isaac, push him to rejoin the team.

Edison's contribution was the most important, and she gave him the breath of life and Finn saw her leave. The shark's mind paused as he wondered if that was because of his actions, did him being reborn doom Edison to a death as soon as he existed the tank.

Did his body returning to life doom another soul? Finn took a breath, Twilight stood there in the ground. Finn ran forward and crossed his hands together, sparks flying between them. The anger ran through his body, the shark in front of him was responsible for so much death and destruction.

And like that, he found Twilight's body in his hands. Twilight was picked up into the air, and Finn held the poor soul in front of him. Holding one hand out, Finn saw a just punishment for the shark. Finn slashed his hand into Twilight's face, the shark waking up as he was knocked back to the ground.

“Fine then Outsider, get mad because someone dies, because this is war and you need to accept all the danger that comes with this!" Twilight yelled as he backed up, the shield coming onto his back. The Kagen stood still and touched his hand onto the shield.

“Oh really and what about the soldiers you killed? I knew them as well and they make me angry at you and the Kagens, and I see it fit to see you dead." Finn held his hands forward and sparks flew from his hand as he grabbed the chest of Twilight, the Kagen screamed out. Orange energy started to summon around his chest, the shark turned his hand.

“Sorry Outsider." Twilight spoke, a sly smile overtaking the pained one. The shark's body glowed not orange but red and in that second, Twilight's body exploded with energy. Finn was knocked back into the wave, crashing and sliding into the truck. The Outsider stood around the crushed metal and turned his head, wondering what had happened.

“Sorry but the fake regeneration trick is the easiest to pull off, and you fell right into it. Now then I think you would all think smart to stay back while I destroy this base and this stupid unkillable Outsider." Twilight walked forward, looking at the shark stuck in the metallic truck, it crushed around him and trapping him.

Basil backed up, flapping towards the forest. Iren saw as the Kagen raised his finger into the air and the soldiers rushed into the base again. Iren saw smart to do the same again, sparks flew up the finger of the Kagen and energy formed a ball above the fingertip.

Finn felt his body covered with blue light as the ball grew larger and large, the Kagen laughing out into the air as he stood victorious over the shark. Basil threw his sword into the building and knew that this would be Finn's battle. Iren lowered the shield around the base and waited.

Finn stood up, dusting himself off as he faced the Kagen. This would be his victory moment or so they called it. He needed to win against Twilight, everything told him that he had to beat the shark in front of him. Show him the wrongs of his ways by being more powerful and throwing everything Twilight had back at him plus the kitchen sink.

And yet as he stood there, feeling drained of energy. Breathing heavy, unable to concentrate, Finn wondered if he would. Still he held his hands up, and for a second he imagined that he heard something beyond the growing expansion of the supernova attack and Twilight's laughing, he put it aside.

Finn kept his legs together and let the energy gather in his hands, a layer appearing on his fingers as he put them up into the air. The shark stood up straight as much as that was possible for him, he felt his knee want to collapse, his arm nearly broken from the crash.

Finn yelled as he put both hands forward, one hand, his left completely giving up as it collapsed and fell to his side. Finn stood up and looked around as he waited for his death to come. Still he might fight it, putting his hand forward the Outsider blasted energy into the massive ball of energy in front of him.

Twilight laughed and then something appeared in the distance, something loud as it approached it jumped over the hills and then appeared. The motorcycle turned around the corner and flew forward as quickly as possible, Finn smiled seeing the shark and then he crashed into the Twilight.

Twilight and Isaac flew into the air, Finn watching as the motorcycle crashed into the truck adding itself to the wreak. Isaac held his hand out as he floated on the ground, but the damage was done, the battle was over. Twilight crashed into the ground, Iren sending soldiers out.

Twilight groaned on the ground and the men surrounded him, pointing down rifles at the shark. Twilight stood still and kept himself frozen on the ground as the Kagen finally was tapped there. Iren smiled and put her hands out, as she buckled the shark's hands together.

Finn looked around, Kagens stood on the ground practically dead as their regeneration cycle slowly took place. The shark smiled at least they hadn't lost everything, he walked forward and as Iren lead the shark into building with a smile of revenge on her face, Isaac looked around.

“Must have been some hell of a battle… Hey where…" Isaac held his hand out but shut up as Finn walked over towards the ground, the sun reflecting in an object caught his eye.

Finn bent down and on the ground he saw a black cylinder. Finn reached down and grabbed it holding it in his hand, it was still warm and the shark held onto it tight. Isaac walked over and saw it, and then he embraced Finn. Holding the shark tight and holding him for comfort himself.

“I'm so sorry, I should have never left." Isaac looked around over Finn's shoulder, tears of a shark landing in his shirt. The battle was bloody, the ground pained red and the truck nearly collapsed with energy blasts. The ground was still warm and the type of truck told him that oil spilled. But hundreds of Kagens laid regenerating on the floor, that was enough to tell him how bad this battle was.

“Fine then, let's make this clear. We want your head as well." Basil grabbed his sword and in the dark room put it right up on Twilight's head. The shark seemingly calming down as a smile stood on his face, Finn looked into the abyss of that shark and the abyss looked back at him. He who hunted Kagens had become Kagen.

Finn took a breath to calm himself down, he couldn't handle all of the shit happening around him. Soldiers were being rushed to the infirmary, his own arm in a wrap. But Twilight simply leaned back and looked at the two, Iren standing in the back and with her arms wrapped cast a dark look onto the shark.

“Oh well, I think we need a bit more personal talk." Twilight held his hands forward and then the room froze. Finn stood up, compelled to do so out of no reason. Twilight smiled as he snapped his hands, Basil standing still and Iren not moving, a black void moved out from the center of the room and expanded around them, leaving the two alone.

“What the hell is this shit?" Finn asked as he took a step, the ground around his feet lighting up with a blue shockwave. Twilight took a step in the direction opposite, the ground below him glowing red. Finn took another step and so did Twilight, the ground erupting into a sympathy of color. The two foes always facing away from each other.

“Well I learned that move from Basil's little boy toy and where is the shark of the hour by the way, I want to brag about all the pain he will be feeling the future right in his face." Twilight spoke, as he stepped a red layer reaching up into the sky and the other nearly touching Finn.

“And I want to kill you right now, so shut your stupid face up before I come over there and punch you. Now then you have violated the trust of my team and my trust which will bring great consequences to the Kagens. If you think you can leave this world without punishment you may find yourself quite challenged in doing so." Finn spoke as he stepped forward and Twilight raised his eye brown, this time as Finn stepped forward his energy pushed forward and nearly hit Twilight. The two enemies walked forward.

“And really are we that different that you have to hate me, because I think that we are one in the same shark and nothing you can say or do will convince me otherwise. I mean do you see how much we are willing to do for our team, how much we might care for them." Twilight spoke and Finn looked at the shark.

“Strange I thought you wanted all of your fellow Kagens killed the way you throw them out onto the battlefield with no remorse or care in the world for their wellbeing or how the battle will end." Finn insulted Twilight's battle skills and red energy flared out around the Kagen as he looked forward the shark.

“And yours, you could barely handle two of my hyper strikes today." Twilight looked at Finn and he stood still, the shark wanted to reach out and hit the Kagen but he found himself unable to do so. Finn tried to lash out but his powers wouldn't summon. “Sorry no powers in this world of discussion as they say, this place is for those who want to think."

“And then the irony of this comes out, you are a little bitch who can't fight. I used to revile having curse words but you fucked us over so bad that I can't think of finishing a sentence without sending out a fucking fuck!" Finn crashed his foot into the ground, the anger of the shark building up.

“And you think I care?"

“Why shouldn't you, we are mortal people. Once I heard that the Kagens tried to protect the mortals but as it seems that age has ended for us truly." Finn looked over and Twilight looked reminded of a time.

“Once I was in a world where everyone had to rhyme and I had to try to bring peace between groups and I needed Basil to do so. Maybe the Kagen way of doing things is wrong, maybe war finally snapped me. I need to leave this place and find peace with myself." Twilight snapped his fingers again and Finn felt dazed for a second, Twilight snapped his fingers. Iren and Basil looking confused as Finn let the shark teleport away.

“Kagen men get up, today we return to the front line and focus our efforts on trying to find peace." Twilight yelled to the men around him as they stood up, Twilight looked around as good Kagens, Kagens he once knew stood up and regenerated. This was all too much, this war needed to end.

“Twilight, you can't just walk away." Finn begged of Twilight as him, Iren and Basil walked out of the building and looked at the shark in front of him. But Kagens defended him stepping out in front of him, Finn saw no reason for anymore death or regeneration on this day.

“But I have too, I snapped today and I need to find peace with myself and wonder how this world will go on, either way I need to talk to someone." Twilight turned his head and RV approached out of the distance. Finn looked to Iren as Bright and Ross stepped out, the Kagen putting his foot on the ground and turning towards Twilight.

“I felt this Kagen kill another Outsider today, so then Finn why haven't you killed him yet for me?" Bright spoke as he stepped forward on the ground, each of the footsteps he took filled with coldness. The shark had no emotion in his eyes and Twilight seemed to cry at his brother's arrival.

“Because Bright there have been to many deaths in this day, I can't stand anymore and even if I let him go on, I accept that is on all of us." Finn looked over to the shark who pondered at the ground for a second. Bright sighed for a second and walked forward.

“Good Bright, I need to tell you something that is very important about the war about what I have seen." Twilight spoke as he walked towards Bright, the advancement of the good shark stopped. And then so did Twilight, a blade was placed to his arm. “Had Ross not been in front of me, I would have thought he was killing me as well. But I assume you must have much to say about me as well Joss, don't you?"

Twilight looked down the metal arm and a reflection of his mind and soul appeared, a copy Twilight, then Finn, Isaac, Old Isaac, layers of nanobots all shifting through the disgusted copied forms until the football jock appeared before the Kagen. Finn held out his arm to Iren and Bright, preparing his powers.

“Oh don't worry Finn, my qualm for now is not with you but it is with the Kagens, I don't have to explain that to you or do I?" Joss asked as he turned forwards the shark, the nanobot's face shifting as twisting panels turned him into a near copy of Finn. The shark saw himself in that reflection.

“I killed you but I don't wish to deal with the man reborn today, I can deal with you Finn later. But as for the Kagens, well I need some test subjects and I see this lone group. Everyone here will be fine except for you Twilight." Joss snapped his hand and instantly all the Kagens around them, disappeared into thin air. Joss lowered his hand as Twilight shocked disappeared.

“Sorry Bright but you are listed as an Outsider and I see no reason to deal with you guys today, but I do want to list a message for you." Joss turned around, and faced the shark this time his face morphing into a tiger. Finn didn't even know if the footballer knew he was doing it, but as he walked forward, holding his hand up as skin morphed into hair and then fur and then skin again, and then a pair of gloves, he smiled.

“I know who you are Joss, that silly gimmick doesn't work on us you can assume your true from with us." Finn spoke to Joss and the nanobot master agreed. He snapped his fingers and this time a woman appeared, dark jacket and as he looked up a tear appeared in the neck.

Finn ran forward, Edison raising a hand as it sharpened into a blade and blocked Finn. The shark took a breath as Joss turned back into his real self. Finn backed off and looked at him, hoping he wasn't going to manipulate him like that.

“Oh tell me that trick doesn't work on you, I'd be very interested in hearing what you think about that then." Joss looked around at the bundle of Outsiders he had to morph himself after. Holding his hand up, camo and then a jean jacket, and then a longcoat all appeared on his body.

“Fine then you win, that trick is disturbing and I want to kill you but I know you have your reasons for appearing, so instead I grant you the time to tell me what you want." Finn spoke as he leaned against the wall. Emotionally he felt drained, like a weak violin song in his head.

“I am here because there are two groups of nanobots now and one is mine and one is the nanobot's master. I would like you to remember that with your little virus trick you managed to disconnect me from the main connection of the big guy and like that I managed to escape free." Joss spoke as Finn remembered the days around the birth of Tidus. And then the battle of Carson City, Finn vaguely remembered hearing something like that escape from Joss's lips.

“And who is this nanobot master and what does he want?" Finn asked and Joss put his hands into his pants, the effect that he had seen time over and over again going through the nanobot's pants, a lot of cargo shorts appearing this time. Finn took a breath and looked at the man.

“Well I would know but my memories of him were erased in exchange of peace, the end of the brief but just as memorable nanobot civil war, if you may call it such. We have no idea who he is and what he wants. Where he is and who he looks like, where he is from and I just can't get that out of my head." Joss admitted as he looked over to Finn.

“Either way, the nanobots have no wish to be in this war. My fraction at least, we're having fun on the West Coast playing with citizens but I warn to you stay away for now and leave us alone because I don't want to be bothered about trying to do the least damage we could." Joss ominously spoke as he raised his hand up into the air, power gathering around it as it shaped from a sword into the hands around him and then into the dragon's hand, scales reforming as he snapped his fingers.

“You don't have to do this, we can free you from yourself and let you be at peace again, all you have to do is step in here." Finn said as the nanobot warrior appeared as his true self, metallic with blue energy lines before taking a normal draconic form.

“Joss where is Billy!" Ross screamed as he ran forward at the nanobot. Joss ignored him.

“Thank you and welcome back to life Finn Harris. But this is me free, leave us alone, sorry Ross." Joss looked over to Finn and smiled. Finn smiled and felt the wind pass as Joss teleported back. But like that the battle at their base had ended, peace was returned to the Outsiders.

“Well that's a bet to me." Isaac spoke as he held his hand up and threw a wave of energy forward, the truck being lifted off the ground and flying over the treeline and then into the forest. Finn looked around, the ground looked nice, the truck crashing would be a reminder of what happened on this day for him.

Finn took a breath as he placed on a self a jar, a sealed jar, a nice clay formed jar of ashes. Edison's ashes, Finn didn't know if he should have done anything special with it as he put it down on the self. Leaving it there, he looked at the jar, once again Edison was whole.

“I should have done something; I should have been able to do something. This is my fault, but I guess what has happened has happened. Arrivederci Maryam Edison, stay cool forever." Finn spoke a few final words as he walked away, the jar sitting there alone and finally free from the war that trembled outside and inside the hearts of each Outsider.

“I feel horrible." Iren looked down at the table, her hands held out in front of her glowing purple. She should have, she could have done something. Tidus sat next to her, this was the first death he didn't see coming. The first one he didn't get to speak to the person before and make peace with them.

“I know but this is something everyone faces and I think that we must accept it else the world might collapse around us." Tidus spoke as he looked down to the ground and hugged his mother, his father was distant. Finn walked by with a dour smile on his face, a hand up waving at them.

“Shame about it really." Tidus looked forward and pondered death for him, for a being such as him that existed in two different time periods. Maybe death would be different for him.

Isaac sat on the edge of the building, he felt like he could reach out and push the clouds. And pointing his finger out in front of him, the layers of water vapor parted. He knew why Finn liked to sit up there, it was close enough that anyone who fell off would nearly die.

“Death comes for us all one day." Isaac looked at the forest, the truck still there. A woman once told him about the Outsiders and how he should have been with them, he couldn't accept that death. Isaac leaned back and then wondered if this was a victory for them, at least if was pyrrhic it was something.

Isaac O'Neill stood there, he was himself and he wondered if he could have even changed the battle with his powers. Would he had even made a difference in the end, he wasn't sure about that.

Isaac held himself still and wondered about the times and where they had gone, this was supposed to be the summer of amazing. The summer where he and Finn had finally managed to be alone for a while and without the war bothering them they would be boning and banging and placing all sorts of things in other things.

And yet the summer of death seemed to hang over his head, the world was a crappy place now. This world was going to hell and he was riding it down, but he wondered if he would get a chance to pull it out. Isaac tapped his shoes on the edge of the building and let his longcoat blow in the wind.

Reaching down he put his hand on his fake leg, it was too much for him to even think about anymore. The leg was filled with such an emotion for him that he could deal with once, that he embraced once, that he liked, but now he just wanted to hide who he was from the world. The shark put his head down and wondered if this was where the world was heading.

Leaning back, his ears were alerted to the sound coming from the woods, birds flew into the sky and started to chirp as the sound of a car driving quickly blared out. Isaac put his hands up, if it was a Kagen then he only hoped they were prepared to fly through the air in fashion.

Standing up, he froze as soon as he saw the car turn the corner. The red slim body, the shark put his hand down and shut his mouth. The shark inside, Isaac watched as the car drove up to the building and outside someone Isaac never thought he could see again stepped out.

Forester O'Neill, the shark stepped out of his car and looked around the building, a frown on his face. He looked up to the top of the building and his eyes crossed with the gravity shark, Isaac stood still for a second until his father raised his hand and formed an index finger, waving it.

Isaac nodded and crossed his hands on his lap turning and starting to walk towards the door, normally he would have just jumped down but Forester was different, his dad was different. Isaac took a breath as he walked down, the shark stood there with a disappointed look on his face. The alpha was disappointed and Isaac only hurried up so he didn't hurt his father's feelings.
