Chapter I: Sons of Liberty, Part One
I figure that with me moving on from writing here, I should at least upload this for anyone who wants it. Consider this a lesson is how to completely bullshit a plot, I wouldn't say it is a great novel but I tried my best with the plot and making sense. And this story meant a lot to me if anything.
Finn Harris is dead and the Outsiders have failed
Chapter One: Sons of Liberty, Part One
“Finn Harris is dead." Isaac stood over and empty room and walked in, stepping over the wooden floor. The shark's slow footsteps filled with sadness and shallow anger. His shoes taping as he walked to the living room. Something was in his arms, covered with a red shall or stepping forward a red stain fell on the floor.
The shark held the shall still and looked at it as he folded the section back on itself. The towel was squishy to the touch and as he stuffed it back in, blood spilled out into his fingers. The shark wiped it onto a dry white spot of the towel, staining it red.
“Nearly covered in the stuff, you were always filled with stuff from love or blood in this case, but don't worry because I have a plan." Isaac told himself as he stepped forward and then on the couch, he gently lowered himself down. He placed the shall on the couch, blood leaking into the fabric as he did. Isaac looked down at it, it was a royal item to his eyes.
And looking at it he knew he had to change as well, walking up the stairs, his foot climbing up passing through a door which them shut. And then a few minutes later, a reborn person walked through. A black coat covered his body and extended down to his feet, a layer of shadows on him. Black gloves and pants, as well as shoes. And as he reached behind, pulling up a hood to his face.
Isaac reached up to his hair and parted it back, grabbing a mask white as the day, a skeleton and pulling it down to his face. Outside, finally the Outsider noticed the war happening. But that was none of his business anymore, he had but one job.
“Isaac O'Neill is dead, but Reaper lives." The ghost walked forward, as his foot raised off the top step, his body floating. And simply he landed at the bottom of the stairs, he turned to the shall and looked at it. He needed protection, looking down at the table he once owned, he saw his latest experiment. “And with a high-energy plasma weapon, Reaper will protect the last hope of humanity."
Isaac grabbed them, his dead blue eyes glancing through the mask and his fingers reaching down and coiling his fingers around the grip. As he held both up to his face, he smiled into the solid metal finish. A blue sapphire cock on one and a red ruby on the other.
So, the shark turned to his shall and looked down, he could never escape the city in these conditions. Turning his head, Isaac peered out of the window, energy blasts exchanged between the two groups nearly blinding him as he watched. And then his mind turned to a shockingly simply solution.
…
Isaac jumped forward, pulling himself forward and repelling himself at the same time. His roller skates dragged over the ground, and then Isaac jumped up, his eyes turning to the left. The war happened in the streets, but the large rooftop area of Carson City was fine.
The shark slid along landing on another building as he continued forward, intending to make his way into the desert and find a lab. And as he did his mind turned towards the helicopter in the sky.
…
“Volgin we are far enough away that they shouldn't be able to hear us or tell us apart from a news chopper." The pilot yelled through the microphone, the waves of energy passed through the hull of the plane and into the ear of a general. The man, human was dressed in green and had a decorated chest.
“Good, and the evacuation announcements have been turned off?" The general asked, a voice that had the gravitas that only came with smoking for twenty years straight. His hair turned grey and a bushy mustache on his face, a few cigars in his pocket just in case he needed to celebrate.
“Of course sir, no one could survive that." The pilot commented, just twisting the body of the craft up and down a bit as a few wayward energy strikes flew their way.
“Ah I didn't ask to know, simply show me, turn the copter towards the city and circle it from a ten-mile radius." The general commanded, he wasn't a man with an idea. Volgin smiled as he looked down at the city, a plan inside of his head.
“Good, perfect. Come look, Oliver." The General spoke and his head turned to the ocelot standing in the back of the plane. That cat was his second. The feline stood up and with perfect steps walked over and grabbing onto the side of the helicopter stared down.
“Al the people down there, shame about them really." Oliver commented his voice light but meaningful as he stared down.
“Oh cry me a river, or go cry over some milk. The government knew that one day the Outsiders were going to fail. They just couldn't imagine that they would fail in such wonderful fashion." Volgin spoke and his head turned, a little grey container in the storage compartment. The general's mind buzzed to life when he imagined using that on the battlefield.
“Surely there cannot be many people left at this point." Oliver added and Volgin turned.
“I was told that simply it was a negatable number. You see the most frightening part of this for the Kagens and the Riftwalkers should not be each other but the army." And Volgin turned, fully opening the door of the helicopter. The general got a glance quickly of their location, right over Lake Tahoe. “This would be an excellent time to test out a new weapon."
“Wait no you can't mean, that was just for!" Oliver yelled out as he turned to the general, grabbing the box and opening it. Inside was a rocket launcher, and at the end it was fit a very special rocket. The general reached down and grabbed the lead lined bomb, a yellow and black triangle painted over it.
“You cannot bomb citizens!" Oliver argued, angst on his face, sweat running down to his neck and getting into his uniform. Volgin on laughed, a devilish grin on the human's face.
“Sorry Kid but this is Marital Law and right now I am in high command, and this is my choosing. I rather this killer get tested live instead of in a boring command post probole on tracks, this is what she deserves." Volgin spoke as he placed the miniature bomb into the rocket and twisted it at the end. “Good luck, hold 'er steady and then on my mark make a bee-line for California."
Volgin walked forward back to the edge of helicopter and held still as it hovered in the air. As he brought the RPG up to his shoulder, and the aiming apparatus up to his eye a red target appeared in the distance. Holding himself still, the general smiled as he put his finger on the safety and switched it off.
“Sir, listen High Command will be very displeased with you if you do that, please we can still go in and save people sir!" Oliver begged, waving his hands up as he looked forward. But the Ocelot would never have the real balls to compromise his position.
“Haven't you noticed kid! I am High Command!" Volgin cried out as he pulled the switch and entire rocket propelled forward, fire and smoke blasting out of the black motor on the back. A smoke trail following it as it shrunk in the distance and blended it with the city. Volgin held his hand on his watch, and counted out the seconds. “Mark!"
“You just nuked an entire town of good people."
“Son, I just nuked an entire town filled with Kagen and Riftwalkers, let's seem then resist the awesome atomic power of the United States of America." Volgin looked behind him as he grabbed the door and shut it, making sure to do as the manuals he read told him, look away at all cost.
And then he felt a wave strike the copter, it was like a bit of turbulence, and he smiled. That was all he needed, the war would be won by the United States of America.
…
Isaac slowed down as he reached the fields of mesas outside of Carson City and then as he turned his head. He saw a helicopter in the sky, if he could communicate with it.
“Don't worry Finn will be saved, I just have to get their attention with a little gravity pull in telegraph." Isaac told himself as he turned and reached his hand into the sky. And then as he pushed his powers forward into the sky, they got diluted. Wind pushing it and sun pressure resisting its change, hitting photons and avoiding oxygen the pull of his powers ended.
And then there was hell on Earth, Isaac screamed out, his entire body feeling blinded as a massive ball of fire rose into the sky in less than two seconds. The shark hit the ground, holding his shall under him. A shockwave blasted over the two, Isaac holding himself down as it sent cacti and dust flying out in all directions, but all away from the center.
And as the atmosphere turned a dark orange and the sun was outshined by a ball of fire. The shark climbed forward, and stood up, letting the energy push him forward as he tried to get away.
“Avoid fallout, have to avoid DNA modification!" Isaac yelled out as he pushed himself forward, his body accelerating as the area in front of him passed like a blur. The wind deafening his ears, his coat flapping out behind him as he rolled forward on rollerskates. But behind him, the eternal energy source of the sun burned in the sky. The massive column of fire blasted into the sky, wind circling the energy around inside of it as it pushed further into the sky.
And as the massive fire ball, all who watched saw as rings of smoke climbed around its head. Projecting the message of hell to all who watched it, and as all that energy pushed out, a wind was created. Outwards the wind blasted carrying radioactivity in all directions. Isaac watched as a shockwave pushed him along the desert.
A massive wind flew out, climbing up and tearing the leaves from the Eastern side of Lake Tahoe. She felt good, Iren felt good, this could work. Barry had been left behind to find nanobots and was going to meet up with them and deal with the Kagens. And it flew, the sky turning orange as it nearly evaporated the entire lake. The wind pushed through all of the paths, down the mountain shaking the trees and creating distressful tweets from birds as they were knocked away into the ground.
And as she drove forward, Iren never knew she would face such a force. The Jeep tumbled as the air got beneath it and pushed it up into the air. Iren reaching out and looking to her side, the team. The Jeep tumbled forward, Iren's tiger hair flowing with her as the Jeep crashed into the ground once.
She thought back to the city, the Kagens and the Riftwalkers fighting, as the two sides fought the other. A massive bomb exploding over them, the wind blasting them back and then pure energy engulfing them and tearing their bodies to bits.
And then the energy expanded out, ripping bricks to pieces and building into pure beams of steels. It flied out in all directions and took without discrimination and everything was destroyed. The wall of her room was ripped away and then the bed thrown by the advancing energy into the wall, cracking the television with it and then collapsing the counter.
At that time all her toys and everything she collected, all her trophies and all her baby pictures knocked away. Water thrown over the room as a day old glass of water cracked into a million pieces, and then into nothing. And then as the energy advanced on the room, it was all torn into nothing. Iren felt the wind through the open back of the Jeep and it waved her hair around, the wall hitting the Jeep and pushing them along.
As it hit the ground, the top bar being crushed and then a second time it flew into the air. Iren reaching out and putting her foot on the break. To her side, the dragon turned himself into pure metal, Ross's reaction. Tidus screamed out, grabbing onto a handle bar as electrical sparks exited his body.
And then as the soldiers they gathered screamed, her eyes opened. A purple glow emitted, and the Jeep stopped in midair. Iren floated them for a second and looked forward, a little field filled with grass in front of them. By this time, the orange sky was gone and Iren, landed them, they could be indifferent to the fact of a nuclear bomb.
As inertia took its effect, the metal dragon slammed against the front seat. Ross yelled as he grabbed onto the passenger side door and held on to it. Iren turned and looked at him, as the Jeep fell from her influence and they landed on the ground with a thud. She took a breath and looked around, the Jeep's wheels were out as it seemed.
The tiger took a breath as she looked at the damaged trees around, the windswept grass and flowers all over in front of her. Iren took a breath of relief, the entire Jeep lowering a few inches as air flew out of its tires.
“That was a nuke." Tidus informed them, and all of them turned, looking at the massive cloud of fire and death behind them. Iren looked back, her powers were back. She raised her hand and the cloud refused to play her game, even as she stepped out of the car and looked directly at it, it only shifted a bit.
“Well shit, all the mortals should get out some iodine pills; the military guys should have a few on them. We'll be fine because of our immune systems but where the hell is Isaac?" Tidus added as he climbed out of the Jeep, reaching onto the top and pulling himself up.
“And Billy as well." Ross opened up his phone, swiping the screen. “No bars, nothing at all."
“Any cell towers are down; we can hope that those two are together. We took the quickest route we could, any longer and we might have risked being caught in that? Who did it?" Tidus asked as he looked over to the Iren, the two militants stepping out.
“You two, who was the general command assigned to this mission?" Iren turned her head, the two soldiers looked at the tiger sweaty and battle damaged in her black tang-top and knew the truth was on fire.
“Well its General Volgin, he was supposed to open up a hole for citizen escape with a helicopter. But he would never…" One solider started. But then the other looked at him and the two started to whisper. “No he wouldn't, he's always shown more restrain when it comes to situations like this."
“That nuke was a rocket propelled prototype, something that could be used with existing RPG types and have a range of say Twenty miles or so. Volgin would have been transporting it for testing, but if he was interrupted with a mission that urgent…" The other soldier spoke.
“Then he wouldn't have been forced to return it, I always told them they need locks on their dangerous devices." Tidus added to the conversation.
“Not unless they wanted him to use it." Ross added as well, the trees shook again, his ears started to pick up a humming in the distance. A large helicopter flew over them; green and covered in camo it was a mobile base practically.
“Well then why don't we ask the man ourselves?" Iren added as she turned and watched as in the field, the large helicopter started to twist. It didn't blend into the trees the way it should, that suggested to Iren that it wasn't being used the right way. Wrong environment, this was some sort of horrible emergency riot control mission gone wrong.
The helicopter hit the ground, the large vehicle's equally large propeller's coming to a stop as they their twisting stopped. And then the man of the hour walked out, the large doors opening.
“Well then I thought I smelt some Outsider blood out here, and a few of my men, glad I won't have to be picking your minced meat of the new salt fields." Volgin spoke, the human stepping out. Iren growling nearly as she put her fists up. “Ah what do you want to get in a fight."
“Volgin you just nuked a city, you cannot do that! I will make sure that you pay for that, you will lose your command position!" Iren yelled as the general scoffed at the idea, Ross and Tidus turned to each other as they prepared for a battle, two armed troops joining the other side.
“Well I suppose you might be considering yourself the good guy in this situation, I advise you don't because if you do further you will be putting yourself in for a very painful death." Volgin spoke as he insulted the Outsiders.
“You monster, I trusted the military and you just broke its pedestal, you are a complete monster, and I hope that you will die a painful death from the incoming fallout!" Tidus yelled as he jumped forward and put his hands out, electricity flying out from his hands and into the air hitting the ground as they advanced forward through the field, ripping dirt up from the ground.
“Ah look at you, the military brat survives. Make sure he dies as well, but first if you would like to beg for your lives, well, Oliver deal with them!" The commander yelled and he turned around towards his helicopter. Jumping in as the Ocelot jumped out, Tidus's stream of electricity came to a stop as he looked in disbelief.
“Don't worry he ignores this, now then a few things if you want to run. The United States is in Martial Law, and the military is in command, I will remind you this does exempt Outsiders as well." Oliver started. “Mainland access to other countries have been shut down and access to Mexico and Canada will end in very painful deaths for you."
“Men back in the copter, we have to get to other places." Volgin commanded as he looked at Oliver, who nodded. And then he smiled, as the ocelot jumped in he stood up and then there was a gun shot. And Iren yelled out in pain, Tidus turned and looked as the helicopter started to spin its propeller's again.
The trees and grass started to shake again as the shark jumped off the Jeep and ran for his mother. The shark ran to her side as she hit the ground, the helicopter lifting off the ground. Volgin smiled and shut the door, taking off. He grabbed Iren and blood was spilling out into her fur from her stomach.
“Oh god where is Isaac!" Tidus yelled as he turned his head and looked at the helicopter. “Men you are Outsiders now, fire at him!"
And a trail of bullets flew into the sky, bouncing off the helicopter as it raised itself above the skyline and then started to fly forward. The soldiers put down their guns and ran over, everyone grabbed Iren and walked her towards the Jeep.
Ross pulled off his blue hoodie and placed it on her stomach, holding it as she was laid down on the back seat of the Jeep. Tidus getting in the front and the soldiers taking a spot in the back and front. Ross held the blood-stained jacket, his ears refusing to work.
And then the sound of wheels spinning broke through the ears of the black and blue scaled dragon.
“Don't worry Iren we will get you out of her, just don't think of Michelle at all, this is different, and we can fix you when we find Isaac. And I think Tidus knows right where to go." Ross told Iren as her face turned red, sweat coming out.
“God I'm sorry how I threated you when I was having my baby, blame Tidus or something." Iren laughed a bit and Ross put on a fake face of laugher as he joined in. Tidus groaning from the front as he maneuvered the Jeep through the trees.
“There, I knew geocaching would teach me something. It's an abandoned Cold War Base, this should have some sort of first aid!" Tidus yelled as he drove into the empty dirt parking lot of the base. It was out in the middle of nowhere, but the shark didn't care for that.
“Come on them, let's get to it!" Tidus yelled throwing the Jeep into park and stopping the car with a screech. Ross held his hands out, holding Iren in place. The shark quickly ran out and grabbed his mother's shoes, pulling them and her body out of the Jeep as the two soldiers ran to her side and grabbed her as well. Ross held her head as they turned and ran towards the base.
“Just stop the bleeding, just stop the bleeding!" Tidus told himself as he ran to the door, and hoped that his mother would be fine. Iren smiled as she looked at everyone willing to help her, but she nearly felt herself die when she looked down and saw the blood on Ross's jacket.
…
And then the moon raised into the sky, replaced then a few hours later by the sun and then the moon again, this time however with a smaller shadow. And it continued again as the sun raised again and two days passed. Isaac walked through the desert, holding the dried shall, it didn't smelt rotten, he was smart enough to at least raid a funeral home before.
Still as he walked through the desert, covered in black, he was labless. As the shark walked through the sand and the dirt covered land, the uncovered sky beating down on him he wished for some sort of redemption.
“Finn Harris is dead, where did I go wrong?" Isaac asked himself as he stepped forward, looking behind he saw the footstep he once made. Surely as the large mushroom cloud descended on the already irradiated Nevada desert, he knew that he could only be at the most fifty miles from Carson City.
“Hey there would you happen to be an Outsider?"
Isaac froze in spot and then turned around, there was a voice behind him. He didn't speak, he simply turned around and looked down at the voice asking. It was a person, a human, dressed in a black suit and a little red tie. She held a device in her hand, scanning the two.
“Ah I used to, but now I roam the desert. This is my salvation, but you might not want to look he might be jerky at this point." Isaac spoke, that was definitely up in some of the darkest jokes he spoke, which was saying something as well. He scanned the agent in front of him, the woman was familiar.
“Oh well, I think I might be here to help you. I'm getting some significant timeline deviations from you, right now you should be in the mountains of Tahoe, I believe that we met before, well before the battle, Temporal Agent Maryam Edison." The agent spoke and Isaac remembered her from before.
“Did you know this would happen to him?" Isaac asked, lowering his mask and looking down on Edison. She only had the same smile on her face as she thought about it.
“No, I can only see what is happening in other timelines with this." Edison held up a little green table, lines seemingly drawn all over it in non-sense but apparently in a way that made sense to her. “But his death is a mostly fixed point so far, yet so far why are you going this way, you should be with other Outsiders but even then I need your help with something."
“I take my only path now, the world has killed Isaac O'Neil, I am now Reaper but one way or another I will find humanities savior." Reaper spoke as he pulled down the mask, Edison only nodded and smiled as she did.
“Well I think that a way to help with your plan would be to find the railroad about say five hundred meters in yay direction." Maryam pointed to her left and Isaac turned his head, looking at the shiny bit of metal. “And then take the northward train, just to Truckee which will get you closest to the Outsiders."
Isaac turned and in the distance, he saw a moving body. Maryam walked forward, and started to run. Isaac stood still for a few seconds and then down to his shall, what was he doing. Abandoning himself and his team, not knowing where he was going.
“Fine then, consider this an adventure." Isaac walked over and watched as the train appeached in the distance. It sped through the desert, but Isaac had an easy method. Extending his hand, it glowed as a blue aura spread over it. And then the train passed right by them, speeding along.
Isaac simply raised them up, and the two of them landed. Maryam quickly grabbed onto the metal ridges of the carriage as she looked over to Isaac, the shark taking down his hood. The two kept their silence as the train chugged along, both adjusting to the speed and sitting down and holding still.
“So then…" Edison started. “Well, what exactly happened in the final battle for Carson City, its wiped off the map. Now that happens either in a span of three days before or three days after in some universes and the Kagens and Riftwalkers go to war, so what exactly happened?"
“Oh well, it's a long story but, we found peace." Isaac looked back into the past, it was only two days ago but it felt like history now. As the train moved along, through the golden sun alongside the background of large mesas and desert. The shark froze for a second and a tear fell down his face. “Until the dammed nanobots, they took it away and they took him away."
“I'm sorry for your loss, but he's gone so far in 99 percent of all universes following this trendline." Edison looked down at her table. “So then how does it begin."
“Well the nanobots took over a member, and tensions boiled over as it was revealed that my friend, Tidus was really Finn's son through time travel, and incidentally the reason the nanobots exist." Isaac added as he looked over to Finn.
“More time travel interesting, that would explain some deviations that this universe has compared to others." Edison continued on her tablet.
“And then it breaks down as both groups meet in middle city and they start attacking as the nanobots take us and then he kills Finn." Isaac added as he leaned back, the wind flowing through his hair. “I thought there would be peace, I was going to get a blue streak through my hair when we returned but I guess that isn't happening any time soon. So, then multiverse theory, lay it on me."
“Oh well it's simple, every possibility is a universe and the less differences a universe has to one the closer it is, but the more they have then the further away it is. Sometimes time travel creates new universes other time it happens as it supposed to and it works out." Edison started as she looked over to the shark confused at her words.
“Oh please its simple." Edison snarked and Isaac laughed. “What?"
“Finally you say something interesting and its complete hogwash to me, I personally like to keep my physics in the dimension of Einstein, keep your wave photons away from me." Isaac joked as he looked up into the sky, they were being bombarded with neutrons as far as he could tell. As he breathed, his hands were going a bit numb as his body rushed oxygen out to cells and repaired DNA as fast as possible.
“Are you sure that you'll be fine in this? I feel a bit drained here and Edison, you seem to have no powers…" Isaac started off.
“Oh I have powers. I think everyone has powers in their own way." Edison started.
“Oh please, that's inspirational bullshit." Isaac interrupted.
“But nothing that helps me here, as for right now well I just have a lot of shots, temporal agent means that you get specialized anti-bodies. They protect me, no matter what period you are in or what you are being afflicted with." Edison spoke as she looked over in the distance, the smoking town of Carson City ruins in the distance and the setting sun in the distance.
“Even death?"
“No, I'm sorry for your loss. Finn's death is a fixed point." Edison looked down on her tablet, streaming data from across a multiverse of information. And then a smile appeared on her face. “But their maybe hope and once we arrive in Truckee well our mission will be clear."
…
Kagens advanced forward, hands forward and energy emitted. Some spotted something in a distance, they yelled sharing the information and then as they walked between massive trees stretching up into the sky, a blur flew at them.
“Incoming Riftwalkers, battle position, cut them off and prevent a flank!" A Kagen general yelled as a tree exploded, chucks of wood flying everywhere. Soldiers lined up and threw their hands up, energy blasts flying forward and flying between trees. Some hit the redwoods and withering lumber pieces were sent flying. Leaves flew between them, blinding both sides.
“This is Admiral Eclipse, we have information on the Riftwalkers, we are currently under siege on the South side of Lake Tahoe, both sides are adapting to the forest environment but we have them cut off, their advance is stopped and we are working on a trench!" A single Kagen held himself off as he reached behind a tree and took safety, with a hand on his head, he was in contact with the Three Generals.
“Ok, who is leading the Riftwalkers?" A voice on the other side, it was Bright spoke into the soldier's head. The man looked behind and then a massive sword landed in the ground, it was sharp and shined in the blue sky. A shark teleported onto the hilt of the sword and grabbed it, quickly removing the cranium of a nearby fighter.
“The general is Basil!" Eclipse yelled into his mind as he stood behind the tree and held his body as still as a stone. And then as he turned around, more Kagens being executed, his ears perked up and then a sword sliced right above his head. The tree shook and groaned as it flipped onto the side and crashed to the ground.
“Ah well look at this, a little Kagen, well then I don't want to kill you only to make you regenerate but not before I deliver a bit of a message." Basil put his large silver sword into the trunk of the tree and walked around, grabbing the Kagen by his neck and holding him up into the air.
The Kagen choked and tried to breath, sounds that sounded more like growls coming out of his mouth as Basil smiled. Holding his hand still he put the other right onto Eclipse's shoulder, his mind being linked.
“So then Bright, could have been something between our races but you ruined it and I know they will tell you that I or someone in my race ruined it, but I know that I am so much more right then you." Basil spoke and then he crushed his hand, the line was cut off and the Kagen yelled out as his windpipe collapsed.
“Good luck with the regeneration." Basil walked forward, holding his hand out, fingers open. The sword teleported back into his hand, Riftwalker not flinching as he held onto the large blocky and separated sword. Putting his hand up, one of the pieces separated from the whole part.
“Now then if there are any more Kagens in this forest, I will make you pay, one for what Bright did to me, and two for my broke trust and three for the fate of Finn Harris!" Basil yelled as he separated the sword into a second longer piece and then sheathed the rest of it, holding onto the sword, he opened his wings and jumped forward.
Which was when a wall of wind hit him, the Riftwalker quickly threw his short sword into the ground holding onto it as he closed his wings around his body, trying to make the air pass around him. The blue light shining down on the forest floor, lighting up the summer foliage and brushes, quickly darkened as it too dark blue and then red and then orange.
As green leaves were thrown off their branches by the wind, the blue shark turned around and looked up into the sky. Putting his swords back, he resisted against the shockwave. And then in the sky, his eyes watched, a massive swirling column of death raising into the cloudless sky.
Large rings surrounded the head and raised up, Basil backed up and turned around, crashing into a tree. Opening his wings, he flapped up and took off, his body thrown into the ground as the wind pushed him down. The fusion got more desperate as he climbed forward on the ground.
“No, the humans had the power of the atom, I didn't know they would have the balls to use it. All the people in the Carson City front are… they're dead." Basil looked up into the sky, his vision sharing the same image as friend he once shared.
…
Bright stood shocked as he watched the massive city of Carson engulfed by fire and reduced to dust, it happened in seconds. A massive wave of energy opening and then closing up, he froze in place, standing on the lake front. The lake behind him, shook and water started to drain.
“The humans can't do that, can they?" Bright asked himself, a helicopter suddenly flew over. But it seemed they could, and walking back, the shark stood there as the energy collapsed into heat and dissipated, the wicked wind settled down and above him the atmosphere turned back into its normal blue color.
“The Riftwalkers have an opening to get right up here if they can stand the radiation." As he looked forward, a massive pile of dirt where the city once stood he looked down the mountain. A massive opening that was once held by Kagens were gone, as Bright looked down on the city he felt relieved to see some orange spots raised into the sky.
The cloud simply raised up into the sky and the smoke cleared, the massive shadow over the ruins of Carson City. Bright turned around and walked back to the tent set up, walking in the two generals planning looked out and saw the nuclear explosion.
“The humans have got some balls to do that as well, make sure that other agents setting up fronts know to watch out for this." Octavius spoke as he looked out and turned back to the large topographical map drawn out over the table. Bright walked out and looked at their current plans, all useless.
“Quickly we need to rally the agents." Zonate added as he put his finger down on the paper and pointed out the large front over the city, it was broken. “We need to get back injured Kagens and those that regenerated wrong. Then we need to set up another front line and hold the Riftwalkers back."
“Agreed, Bright you make sure to set that up." The two generals turned and the shark simply nodded, he walked out of the tent and took a breath, the air now laced with radiation. Holding himself still, he turned towards the south side of the lake and teleported.
…
“So then, it's been a long day for us all, and its night time so then let me ask you what is this mission?" Reaper asked, Isaac lowering his mask as the train passed the crumbling city and turned along with the interstate, cars abandoned on the road, cracks in guardrails and the concrete. The paint was stripped from the cars and all of the vehicles seemed to be filled with holes from rocks.
“Well, the military knew this would happen. Not the nuke but the invasion, and they had a few ideas on what to do with citizens. But unfortunately, I don't believe they have done the right thing with their citizens." Edison stood up on the cargo container and as the train turned next to the interstate, she placed the tablet into her pocket.
“I know this sound weird, but I think that the President might have been forced to call Marital Law in order to satisfy the military high command and the military isn't the most transparent organization in the world. Which is why I was confused when they seemingly build a train station in Truckee." Edison babbled on and Isaac leaned forward, the agent grabbed a pair of binoculars from her bag and held them forward.
“See I can see that there is some sort of wall around Truckee, and it looks be built very quickly, very dirtily." Edison passed the pair over to Isaac, who looked into the distance. He couldn't see the town, but as Interstate 80 craved land forward, it passed between two large walls.
“Strange those do look new." Isaac noted as he saw the massive walls erected on the city, they had to be a few stories tall and seemed to be held up on the outside. A few tiny points of light walked outside of the wall, and the train was advancing.
“So then just asking what did you get me into?" Isaac asked as he stood up and ran forward, jumping with his powers and grabbing onto the front engines of the train. The shark held himself still on the end as he looked into the distance.
“I don't know but this is some sort of Cargo, if they did need to hold people their or worse, take out those who know too much. Say keep this whole thing a massive secret." Maryam added as Isaac jumped back and landed on the cargo container.
And then above them, two large helicopters flew past. Isaac turned his head, they were like bullets from hell. As they turned into lights in the distance, under the blue night time sky, they seemingly flew towards the massive city of walls.
“So then I guess you want us to ride this baby in and see what is happening, take a peek at what is happening behind the scenes, I get it." Isaac added to the conversation and then he grabbed his guns, cocking both as their gems glowed red and blue. The shark closed one of his eyes and held it up.
“Well then sounds like an adventure for the two of us, why didn't you tell me about this earlier. I do love breaking into the government's stuff." Isaac pointed out as he put the guns away and seemingly started to prepare himself. And then he looked down at the shall; holding it still as he wondered dhow he would manage that.
“Ah I think I have something for that." Edison reached into her back pocket and grabbed seemingly a tiny little capsule item. And then a duffle bag appeared in her hands, one or two turns of the zipper later and the shark held Finn on his back. “I will protect you and you protect me, isn't that the promise?"
“Yeah, and I protect Finn because he will be the hope of this universe if I can only work it out right." Isaac added as he looked forward at the train driving and then their future, wind blasting past them and sending Maryam's hair waving in the distance. He smiled and ran his hand through his hair, holding the mask still he covered his face.

Iren looked around from her hospital room, the white checker walls, so cheeky and out of place. Still she leaned back on the bed, at least the soldiers knew how to fix her up. Hospital Room 3 was the best remaining of the room, without any major connections to the outside and working electricity, but it was still dark and dank.
With all the artificial lighting, Iren leaned forward and looked at ZNN reports from around the states.
“Hi Katy Toomey here, and currently these fighting beings that call themselves Kagens and Riftwalkers have been found in all forty-eight Continental United States." As she spoke, reading from a teleprompter the on-screen graphics expanded onto the whole screen.
It was Washington DC, Iren looked forward, silent as she watched the massive helicopter fly off in the distance, Iren knew it could only be the President and his cabinet. The camera turned around with Washington Moment in the middle, the groups fought against each other.
And then the massive white pillar was stuck, a Kagen with a Riftwalker around his arms pushing themselves through the monument and causing its collapse. The top white pillar fell to the ground. Then another video, a massive portal with hundreds of Kagens flying through and a massive amount of Riftwalkers teleporting into battle.
Energy pieces flew everywhere and the man holding the camera shook as he adjusted the image and focused down on the Grand Canyon, both groups fighting inside as they pushed against each other. And then the camera was pulled back, the recorder screaming as an energy blast flew right in front of it and then into the air.
Outside of Hospital Room 3, following a hallway lead to a door way and then a new segment of the base. Through those flappable doors, past the two soldiers was Ross and Tidus sitting down. Ross kept his phone out as he waited.
“It's been a while, I don't want to discourage you but there was a nuke." Tidus raised and Ross stood up, waving his fist, an audible slap hitting him. Tidus grabbed his face as it reddened and looked up at the blue and black dragon staring at him like he committed blasphemy. “What I'm just being real."
“And were you real when you never told us about who you were and the three deaths you could have prevented? Say that to Michelle, Eric and Joss!" Ross exploded, his body shifting into metal and starting to drop as anger took him.
“I did what I did because my timeline is a stable loop, I can't affect in ways other than how I know I will." Tidus explained. “And if I knew that nuke was dropping I would have to have let it, else I might not have been born but that isn't the case!"
“Fine then you're right, just shut up, I don't like this. I don't want to add another name to our lost list, so many people have been taken from us and it feels like we are just a shell of when we started." Ross admitted, he walked over the floor and grabbed a little string with a white holder. Pulling it, shades rose and revealed a window.
Energy flashes from the forest told him that the fighting groups were close, a few more soldiers joined them and they worked behind them. The dragon guessed that after Volgin's betrayal of everything that they were now Outsiders in their own little way.
“Here let me talk to him." Ross turned around and looked Barry was back. The nanobot Komodo Dragon smiling, some circuitry showing on his normally scaled face and body. Tidus smiled and walked away. “I'm a little worse for wear but we all lost something in today."
“Fine then, we need to fight in this war. We need to win this war or else face the end of all we hold dear, even more so. I'm not talking about items I'm talking about people now because now after all we've gone through that is all that the Kagens, Riftwalkers and the Military have left us now." Ross looked forward and through the window, if he could go back in time and change it.
“Fine then, until Iren is better, you are the highest member in the Outsiders and you are suited for the job, you have changed so much over the years." Barry put his hand on Ross's back and the dragon took pride in that.
“Well then I put myself in control of the Outsiders, and this war will end on my words." Ross looked out of the window and out into the forest and onto the hell on Earth that was developing. And he hoped, everyone has hope, the dragon and the shark included and no matter they will use it. Hope will guide the mortal races as they search for some sort of connection.
…
“But I'm just a Kagen shark, so what do I know about hope, or life and death, love and birth, war and peace on the planet Earth. I do know that this Earth is something I am deeply invested into. So, at all costs, I suggest that you get me their soon." Twilight spoke as he looked at the portal in front of him.
