Ragnarok - XIV
Varr broke the silence first. "You saw him, then. Our lord is yet alive. I had not dared To think the question, lest I should answer. But the Old Man lives yet. So lives our strength." Shane muttered quietly "Not he alone." And when they looked at...
Ragnarok - XXVI
The Sulfur Carrier had dug its claws Into the cliff face, on either side of The shallow crevice where the Old Man stood At bay. The rock walls were collapsing in. When he had thrust his spear into the breach To wedge it open, it had buckled and...
Heraclitan Bird-Songs
**Jisei-Sonnet** : _The Heraclitan Bird Prepares For Death_ Denied by all, the black and cursèd bird Encased within the pang of pain and grieving, And painted with a crest that sang deceiving, Defied the world - corrupting all they...
Ragnarok - XIX
Somewhere, it was winter. Stars were lost Above the mottled, slate-hard clouds. The streets Were glazed with colorless lamplight. The air Was weary cold, and smelled of apathy. Somewhere it was January, or Some time that felt like it. Beside the...

EndBringer - Verse Three - Cauchemar
# _VERSE THREE: CAUCHEMAR_ "Miranda!" Damon sat bolt upright. His heart pounded against the inside of his ribcage and his ears rang from the blood rushing through them. That damned dream. Again. The same bloody nightmare he'd been having ever...
Accompanied by Tornado Siren
I do like the sonnet/blank verse/ rhymed envoi pattern it produced. i think it deescalates and escalates similar to the way that musical theatre might use breaking into song, lapsing back into dialog, then having a big finishing number.
Ragnarok - XVII
Said Varr, voice hollow like a man bereaved And echoing around the council hall, "Never before have I turned tail. What has Become of Last to Flee? If such as I, By death made undying, by corruption Made incorruptible in who we are, Already have...
