Kiva and Vinny are spending the day doing chores around their property. Suddenly, a traveler from the future accosts them! Will Kiva defend her husband from the familiar attacker? (~3,700 words)

A fun little non-canon story I wrote after a conversation with some friends became "What if Kiva became a MILF?"

Thanks to Doomedsizemarine and Ratafari for the suggestions and edits. And thanks to Bonimenteur for making the thumbnail image that I edited. He brought Kiva to life with his drawings.

Beneath a rusted truck, Vinny lay on a simple picnic blanket to separate himself from the dirt ground while he tinkered with the vehicle's insides. He had just finished checking the tire pressure and he was about to finish changing the oil. He plugged the truck then carefully slid out from under it carrying a tray filled with the aged dark liquid. A clawed hand offered itself to him and he took it without hesitation. With minimal effort, the paw's owner, a massive woman, effortlessly lifted him to his feet.

“Is that it?" she asked.

“Just about. Now we fill it up with the new stuff."

Ever since their new careers had left them with so much free time at home, Kiva gained an interest in helping him with handiwork and do-it-yourself projects. Even something as simple as learning to change the oil in their truck was new and exciting for the bored Dire Wolf. And if they ever stumbled onto something they didn't know how to do, they had the internet to guide them. Kiva finished replacing the oil in the truck as per his instructions and Vinny tested it out by running the engine. Once they were satisfied with it, Kiva closed the hood and they cleaned up their mess.

“Any more chores you want to teach me about?"

Vinny smiled. “Oh yeah. See that big stump behind me?"

He pointed with his thumb and drew her eyes to the aforementioned detritus. It was a rotted tree stump that came with the property and they assumed it was cut down because it had died. The previous tenants, if there were any, never bothered to finish the job.

“It's a little ugly, and it also gets in the way of the road. I was hoping you could work your magic and rip it out. Maybe mulch it in your hand and scatter the pieces out there in the woods."

“What about the hole it'll leave?"

“I guess you could dig it up a little, fill it back in, and flatten it out. Get the roots out too. Worst case, scoop some dirt from somewhere out there and fill it in that way."

Kiva snorted, then turned to the stump. “You're so wise. I bet you could do this by yourself without a shovel."

He ignored her sarcasm, too deep in thought to respond with an equally witty quip. “Is it wrong to abuse her ability to grow into a giant just to do yard work? I guess it's better than not using it at all, or using it to hurt people."

Vinny took comfort in the fact that his wife was probably the best person to be given incredible power. She hated hurting others even if they deserved it. Plus, she was lazy. Even now, she was still staring at the stump and contemplating it like it would lift itself out of the ground if she gave it enough time. Before she attempted anything, a blinding light flashed to their side along with a clap of thunder. The couple flinched, Vinny bouncing away from the radiant anomaly and Kiva widening her stance like she was preparing for a fight. When the light died down enough for him to glance at it without going blind, all he could tell was that it looked like a hole had opened in reality. Impossible alien shapes marked the edge of the phenomenon that hovered above the ground and bled exotic energies into the atmosphere.

The anomaly hovered in the air for a few seconds and a boot stepped out of it onto the dirt. Along with it came a long white-furred leg and the rest of its body soon followed. Once the creature was out of it, the energy imploded on itself and disappeared in an instant. The visitor surveyed them, crimson eyes bearing on each of them. Though its visage was fierce there was a softness behind its eyes. No, her eyes. She was a woman based on her figure; A Wolf with a sandy shade of white fur covering her sides and back. She wore heavy combat boots and light exercise clothes, but not much else. Her body was wide and heavy with powerful muscles concealed under a layer of adipose. Thanks to her light clothing choice, they could see the many scars that decorated her body. There were even a few on her face and a wicked one over her right eye.

“Mom?" Kiva stuttered.

It sounded ridiculous, but she was the spitting image of Kiva if she were older and had a few kids. Like Kiva, she had a curvy figure with large breasts that strained against a custom bra, but she had even more mass than his wife and a wider figure. She took a step toward them and Vinny finally realized just how large she was. The new Wolf stood two heads taller than Kiva who was already ridiculously taller than most people he had ever met.

“I'm not. Though, I can understand the confusion." She spoke in a deeper voice than her too. “I am you from the future and I have come to take what is mine."

The couple stood their ground and stayed on guard. The older Kiva rolled her eyes.

“I see you're confused. Allow me to explain. Twenty years from now, my Vinny died in an accident while I was away from him." She drew her fingers to the top of her muzzle in frustration. “Stupidest thing ever. He survived the Giant Wars but he couldn't survive a car crash?"

“Wait," Kiva interrupted from behind him. “how are you able to do this without causing a time paradox?" She pushed him back with one hand and took a defensive stance in front of him.

Vinny jumped into the conversation to try and assert himself. "It's multiverse theory, right? You didn't travel through time. You went to an alternate universe with a different history to get here."

'Future' Kiva smiled. "You were always so clever. I missed that about you. Now then…"

The Dire Wolf bared her fangs and prepared for battle, but her younger self lunged at her and began swiping her claws faster than Vinny had ever seen her move. The time traveler was quick to react though, and she deftly dodged each hit with a serene demeanor. Kiva threw her claws and fists at her older self like her life depended on it and she only occasionally landed a hit that didn't seem to faze her. She responded with a quick jab to her chest which sent her reeling. The difference between their movements was stark: The younger one moved like an animal with wide swipes and punches bursting with energy. Meanwhile, her senior fought like a boxer attempting to lessen her profile. Every movement was short and efficient using as little energy as possible. The fight continued like this for some time, with the younger Kiva on the offensive but failing to break her opponent's guard despite the speed she moved at. It didn't help that she was outmatched in size and strength as well.

Eventually, she grew tired of fighting an opponent larger than her and with a thought, the younger Wolf began to climb in height. It was difficult to notice while they moved, but eventually, the older Kiva noticed her opponent's head had climbed higher.

“Oh no you don't!" she shouted.

With a quick jab, the traveler landed a blow on Kiva's stomach. In that instant, she sapped the size of the younger one and shot up the same amount.

“Damn amateur. You still have so much to learn. Vinny came up with that move, by the way."

The fight continued at a similar pace. Young Kiva slowed down and began testing her rival's abilities. The time traveler increased her pace along with her size, never bothering to grow herself when she could steal height from her younger self. The two giants were taller than their house and still growing, and it was clear that the traveler was winning the encounter by sheer endurance.

“You don't even know how to pace yourself in a fight. You've never fought anyone long enough for it to be a problem, and now it's come back to bite you. Whereas I have fought dozens of other macros who could outpace me. Horses, Gators, Tigers, they all fell to my claws.

Kiva didn't respond to her taunts but it was clear that she was scared. Her strikes became more erratic and less controlled. Every hit she threw allowed her opponent to sneak in another jab or scratch that bruised and bled her a tiny bit more, slowing her down with each successful hit. All the while her future self kept growing and talking.

“Gods, I miss having abs like that. They're not gone but they're hidden under all this damn fat." She threw a punch and knocked the wind out of her when it hit her side, producing a sound like thunder when it impacted. “I miss wearing bras that didn't have more than two latches on them." Another swipe of her claws scratched her twin's shoulder and tore at her top. "I miss being able to go on long runs without my body cramping up and everything hurting." Kiva went to kick with her bare foot, but the doppelganger grabbed her leg and threw her the other way. She landed on her back and scrambled to get up, but received a boot to the head for her trouble. The giant fell to the floor and shook the area like an earthquake, almost tossing Vinny onto his butt. “And most importantly: I miss holding my husband in my arms every night and knowing everything is going to be alright."

The giant took deliberate strides toward her fallen opponent looking like she was ready to finish her off. Her boots, which were now larger than the truck they had just worked on, shook the Earth with each step and left massively detailed craters in their wake. Vinny impulsively ran toward the giants and attempted to climb up his wife's body. The older Kiva flinched when she noticed him squirming on the ground, and a disturbing look crossed her face when he screamed at her to stop. Vinny managed to scurry up Kiva's prone body and onto her stomach where he rooted himself in place.

“Stop right now! What makes you think I would ever want to come back with you if you took her away from me?"

The silver Wolf stepped back like she had been struck. “I only want to love you."

“It's selfish love! You have a freaking time machine and you chose a timeline where we're still together? You could have gone to one where Kiva died early, or we never met, or anything else! Instead, you tried to kidnap me!"

The giant's eyes dulled and seemed as empty as if her soul had fled her body. She fell to her knees and shook the landscape when she hit the dirt. Trees rattled, sending tons of leaves and dust floating along invisible air currents and into his face. The suspension on the truck got a workout while its metal frame shook in a creaking cacophony of rust and chrome, and the windows of the cabin threatened to shatter but stood firm in their frames. Vinny saw her eyes once again return to life along with a literal bucket of tears.

“Hey hey hey, it's alright. Just chill out. We can talk about this." He tried to placate her.

The giant, in an incredible display of control, shrunk herself in one smooth wave until she was back to her original size. Vinny felt his wife's colossal body shift under him. He turned his head back and saw her sit up enough to look at them. With a thought, she too shrunk like her twin but managed it in multiple inconsistent spurts instead of a single smooth motion. Vinny still wasn't used to the way her body diminished under his feet when she went from a giant to merely very large. He had enough forethought to jump off her stomach before she grew too small for him to comfortably stand on her. Once he confirmed she was alright and off the ground, he turned to the massive figure across the yard and walked toward her.

Now that he was close to her, Vinny got a good look at Kiva's future self. He had only seen Kiva's mom in pictures, but she looked very similar to her. Dense muscle hid beneath scarred skin and fur. Vinny had a difficult time discerning the age of Non-Human races sometimes, but it was obvious when comparing the two directly; Her fur went from a sandy white to a silvery-white with individual strands of silver cropping up between both shades. Her eyes spoke of years of conflict, and the bags under her eyes elaborated on it. Vinny reached out and scratched behind her ear, causing her to flinch at his touch. Even on her knees, the behemoth woman bore down on him with swollen eyes and scooped him up in her crushing embrace. He kept petting her head and scratching her ears, reaching the areas he knew she loved. Her tail smacked the dirt, kicking up dust and broken twigs and fallen leaves.

Two soul mates separated by time cherished each other for a moment. The time traveler's predecessor watched them hug from a distance and felt a pang in her heart.

“Wow. Aliens, huh?" Vinny stood comfortably next to his wife and his wife and listened to one of them describe an insane future.

“Yep. It caught us off guard. After the war, we made a lot of headway into communicating with them peacefully. Turns out their ancestors were the ones who made macros and added all the races besides Humans to the Earth."

The way she said it made it seem like she had repeated those facts often enough for it to become rote. She had just spent the past hour explaining what happened to the world in her timeline, and it painted an interesting future for them. Vinny had so many questions he wanted to ask, but he was afraid of overwhelming her. She seemed to catch onto his anticipation though, and she waved her hand at him as if to say “get it over with."

“Does that mean all the conspiracies are real?"

“No. Ancient aliens are real, but only back to the Pleistocene. We built the pyramids."

“Why did they do it?"

“Nobody knows. Not even them. They worked out immortality for their species after the ones who did it died. Their culture is very strange. It involves a lot of hard partying and narcotics."

“Faster than light travel is possible?"

“Yes. We're working it out now. It's the reason we learned to travel to other universes."

“You changed a lot. Why are you so tall?"

“The older I got, the more my body felt natural at larger sizes. When I tried to go back down to my original size, it felt like I was compacting myself or trying to fit in a pair of pants that are too tight."

“How many kids did we have?"

Kiva blinked. A lecherous smile crossed her face.

"You'll have to find that out for yourself. It's not up to me to decide. Plus, none of that stuff may happen after I messed with the timeline."

The younger Kiva decided to jump into the conversation after staying silent.

“Wanna have a threesome with the Human in the middle?"

Her future self exploded with laughter, bending over and supporting herself with her arms on her knees. It was like listening to his wife through a voice modifier to make her sound deeper.

“As much as I would love to, I need to get back to my world. I wasn't, uh, really supposed to do this. I wish you both the best of luck in your future."

The time traveler took a few steps back and tapped at a device on her wrist. It lit up with many colored lights and screamed with an electronic screech. Her body was suddenly enveloped in an impossible light that fractured the space around her with exotic energy. It imploded as soon as it completely engulfed her, and the effect snapped out of existence with a roar of thunder. The couple stood in the middle of the woods by themselves listening to the utter stillness. Eventually, the birds began chirping again and the wind came back to serenade their ears and caress their skin. Vinny turned up to his wife who was already staring down at him.

“Why did you ask for a threesome?"

“Did you see that? I became a total 'MILF!' I'm not gonna pass up an opportunity to get with a big sexy military lady."

“Hell yeah, you were awesome! You fought like a superhero."

“Yeah. And my tits were huge. How many kids do I need to have to get there?"

Vinny chuckled, his eyes roaming over the yard and a familiar rotting stump.

"I still need that thing removed."

Kiva rolled her eyes and made for the stump, gaining height along the way.

Kiva's fur stood straight while unknown energies crackled around her. The process of being transported was loud and not very comfortable, but it was better than being exposed to whatever existed between universes. The scientists explained to her that it had something to do with establishing a baseline reality in a small bubble around her or the primordial chaos of the zones between universes would erase her. The science was interesting, but beyond that explanation, it went right over her head. The trip lasted less than a second and the Dire Wolf stepped out of her energy bubble and into a large metal room with various contraptions.

The portal closed behind her and Kiva stood tall among the workers scuttling about and doing their jobs. They probably weren't happy that she forced them to activate the machine for her. Ahead of her, a large Hippopotamus was leaning on a stylized wooden cane and glaring a hole through her skull. He was tall for his species. Kiva learned that male Hippos never really stopped growing and Smith was far past 90 thanks to modern medicine and his many implants supporting his biology. One of his eyes was replaced by an intimidating red lens that gave off a hideous light wherever he looked. Though they were covered by a bespoke three-piece suit, Kiva knew he had metallic replacements for a leg and an arm. The cane was to support him while he got used to moving with it, but she suspected he might keep it to add to his image.

“Did you have fun toying with the new and expensive government technology?"

She strolled down a metal ramp and approached him, making sure to keep enough distance that he didn't have to crane his neck to look her in the eyes.

“It was enlightening."

“Hmph. So you failed to get what you wanted. Maybe don't tamper with the fabric of reality for something so petty?"

Kiva grit her teeth and clenched a fist but stayed still knowing full well he was pushing her buttons on purpose. He was usually very kind about these things, and he wasn't arresting her for breaking into the facility, so he must have something else in mind. She had gotten very good at predicting him after fighting a war with him.

“Luckily for you, and unluckily for us, all this traveling between universes has drawn the attention of other organizations and entities. We just met one who might be able to help you. For a price."

Smith turned and gestured behind him, and a woman strode into their space. Except, not exactly; The woman didn't step forward so much as appear out of thin air like someone was taking a blindfold off Kiva's senses. Her species was unrecognizable, with a body that seemed Crocodilian, wide and powerful with soft colors on her abs and darker green scales everywhere else. She had a soft face like an Iguana with four horns sprouting out of her head. Beautiful vines covered in a multitude of flowers wrapped around them and wreathed her like a crown. She wore a bikini top and a loincloth both made of white-dyed leather, which was supporting wooden armor pieces. Bottles and pouches hung from her waist, no doubt filled with alchemical reagents based on the colors in the glassware. Her tail was short and stubby like it had been cut off and was regrowing, but something in Kiva's mind told her that was its natural size. Overall, she looked like she was about to attend a Renaissance fair.

Another detail that caught her eye was the greatsword hanging on her back. It was wrapped in bandages and almost as tall as her. The tip was covered in unfurled wrappings and exposed to the air, and its metal shone like pale moonlight. When her eyes fell on the blade, Kiva felt a pain flash in the back of her head screaming at her, forcing her to howl like a wild beast. She pushed down that instinct and looked back at the woman.

Her heart fluttered for a moment at the sight of the otherworldly woman. She reminded her of an old friend. Add a few feet of height, make her wider, thin out her snout like a true Crocodile, and you would have the spitting image of one of the world's first size shifters besides herself.

“Dragon." Kiva thought. “She's a Dragon. She's got to be if she's from another universe."

The Dragon opened her mouth and spoke.

“Life is a cycle of death and rebirth. Most are content to float along the river until they break against the rocks, but Joxiris is privy to the greater meaning of it. Your husband can be brought back at a cost."

She spoke with a light timbre like the wind itself was conveying information directly into Kiva's brain. It was flowing water, a campfire roaring, and rocks falling all at once. It didn't matter if she was a Dragon, a God, or a demon. Kiva would do anything to see him again.

“What do we need?"

The Dragon smiled.
