Toying Around: Part 2
Hank is losing his mind, Vinny is losing his place, Kiva is losing her patience, and everyone is losing sleep. Can Kiva learn to control her abilities and save the shrunken cat, or will she lose control of it and endanger everyone?
Read the first part HERE.
It's time for the second part of this story arc! This plot has been burning a hole in my hard drive for the past year and I'm incredibly happy to finally have finished it. This is perhaps the longest single chapter I have ever written and I'm very proud of it.
I would like to thank DoomedSizeMarine, Ratafari, and MordecaiRS for beta reading this chapter and helping me refine these ideas.
Shopping carts clattered and shook between monumental stacks of food in the aisles of the supermarket. Racks upon racks of warehouse shelves carried wooden pallets loaded with bulk goods, some of them so tall it was a mystery how they ever made it up there. Some of them sat high enough to almost graze the metallic ceiling or the many pipes snaking along with it between the skylights. For the average person, the second shelf probably came up to their head or above it. For Kiva, it was far below her abdomen. It made reaching for things on that shelf easy but it also meant she had to get on her knees to grab anything off the bottom shelf.
The Direwolf strode down the aisle and dragged her eyes across the colorful packaging trying desperately to catch her attention. Most people trusted their noses to help them choose what they wanted to take home. Kiva trusted hers as well, but many companies advertised visually for two major reasons: The first is that Humans and most Avians are a large demographic to sell to and their sense of smell is nothing compared to most mammals. Secondly, the packaging on food has to be airtight or risk expiring and contamination. It's difficult to glean aromas trapped inside a secure wrapping so you're better off using smells at the bakery. Kiva sniffed the air and got a mix of fresh loaves of bread, fruits, vegetables, and the powerful odor of the meat section laying on top of it all. It was fun to smell the store's many fragrances but it also distracted her from her goal, so she ignored them and moved on.
Ahead of her, a Mouse stood behind a shopping cart and struggled to grab something off the higher shelf. He looked like a child trying to reach for something but she could tell he was an adult based on years of experience living in an area with so many of them. His head barely reached over the cart's handlebar and she was shocked to see it filled with all sorts of heavy packages.
Mice usually have big families to feed. She thought. It's no wonder he's desperate to grab whatever is up there.
Abandoning her cart, Kiva ambled toward the Mouse and grabbed a blue box of nuts from the shelf in front of her. She bent down and handed it to the nearly knee-height rodent, who graciously accepted it and lobbed the box into his cart.
“Thank you!" He said with a deeper voice than she expected and a genuine smile she was pleasantly surprised to see.
Kiva smiled back at him, avoiding showing any teeth, then returned to her cart. Before she could reach it, a terrified squeak made her jump and spin around. Where the Mouse once stood there was simply empty air. The shopping cart was still there and still full of the same things she saw before, except for the package she handed to him. Kiva took an uncertain step toward the metal contraption, then another, then jumped when she stepped on something. Leaning on the abandoned cart for support, Kiva lifted her foot above her knee and gaped in horror at the sight of a tiny Mouse smaller than her toe flattened against her paw. She hastily swiped the body off her paw pad and watched it bounce a few times on the cold tile and eventually lay still.
The body on the floor looked smaller every single time Kiva looked at it. She had to squint to even find it after blinking a few times. She leaned on her side and went to grab the cart for support, then almost tripped and fell when her hand grasped empty air. Kiva bent her knees for support and looked down to her right at a cart that was diminishing in size with every passing second until it was no taller than her knees, then the small boxes on the shelves, until finally it was smaller than the dust on the floor and disappeared in front of her eyes. Panicking, the Wolf stumbled backward and walked in the opposite direction past her own cart and out the main lane. Rounding the corner, a lithe Dalmatian carrying a basket of produce bumped into her and fell onto his back. The basket tipped over and the bags of leafy greens spilled onto the floor around them.
“I'm so sorry!" Kiva thrust a hand down to the canine who quickly accepted her assistance. As soon as her fingers engulfed the smaller canine's hand, his body lost mass so quickly that she pulled back and lifted his entire body with one arm. She stood up and dangled the diminutive shopper who was too stunned to do more than grunt in shock. Kiva gasped and held her other hand under the Dalmatian who quickly went from using it as a platform for one foot to both of them. She released him and watched him collapse into her palm but never quite reach it. The tiny figure shrunk while he fell and became so small that Kiva couldn't even feel him land on her hand.
“What the hell?" she shouted.
By now, a crowd of people had formed around her and were watching the scene unfold with nonchalant curiosity. New Yorkers, as is their wont, saw something potentially dangerous and decided to get a closer look. Surrounded by an indifferent mob, Kiva panicked, took a few steps back, and smashed into more people.
“Please get back! I can't control it!"
She spun around and watched the people she touched rapidly lose mass and fall to the floor. They too became specks on the cold tiles that shrunk until they disappeared from her sight. Their carts and baskets also shrunk along with them.
I didn't even touch those!
While the shopping carts shrunk to nothing along with their owners, Kiva saw a nearby stand containing an assortment of colorful fruit like bananas and oranges. An invisible wave of force flowed over the product and one by one they vanished like the people before them. Once the produce finished shrinking, the stand they were on followed them. Then the stand and vegetables next to them began shrinking, and the shelves next to that. Dread rose from her spine and crawled into every limb, paralyzing her while she watched the world diminish around her. Once she realized the previously massive shelves that suspended nearly as high as the ceiling reached her head, Kiva bolted down the aisles and out the front door.
During her mad dash out to the parking lot, she didn't look before running onto the street and completely missed a car driving toward her. The Wolf braced for impact but stumbled when she blew past nothing but air. The car and its occupants were downsized as soon as she got near them and were promptly flattened under her massive stride. Undeterred, she increased her pace and blew past dozens of cars that also shrunk once they got in range. Her range was growing larger by the second: soon she was shrinking trees and people on the other side of the lot.
There was no transition between the market and her home. In an instant, Kiva was jogging down a beaten trail in the woods. At the end of the trail lay the cabin she had lived in for the past year with her husband, and she hoped, her savior. A terrible jostling in her stomach warned her before she saw the cabin shrink like the rest of the world. Kiva howled and sprinted toward the building on all fours like a wild beast. Unfortunately, by the time she made it to her home, it had shrunk to the size of a dollhouse and was showing no signs of stopping. She dove and cupped her hands around it hoping to scoop it up, but her giant paws only found loose dirt and dead grass. Tears stung her eyes and slid down her furred face, then off her nose and onto the ground where her home once stood.
“It's a complete disaster, huh?"
Kiva turned her head and saw Hank standing next to her arm, still handheld compared to her. The powder grey cat had a casual attitude even though he must have seen what had happened.
“I mean, if you can't even help me then how are you gonna help them?"
What? Before Kiva could question him, she felt a sensation like she was falling...
Vinny's precious sleep was interrupted by his wife's tossing and turning. For most couples, this wouldn't be a huge issue. Unfortunately for him, Kiva weighed more than half a ton and most of that was muscle capable of tearing through solid tree trunks. A casual swipe of her paw was a death sentence for anything within arms reach of her. And her arms had reach. Vinny lay with his chest pinned underneath her arm and some of her shoulder while she occasionally twitched and grunted. It was rare for Kiva to have nightmares, and even rarer for them to affect her so badly. He had slept through worse, but when she rolled over and put her arm over his neck he choked out a plea for help.
“K-Kiva, let me go-" He smacked her arm gently at first, but decided that he couldn't hurt her if he tried. The following slaps savagely impacted her arm and echoed off the wooden walls. Kiva continued to struggle against an unseen force that only she could sense while Vinny lost more air under her bulk. The Direwolf suddenly sprung up from the bed and gasped. Her panic quickly faded once she realized where she was, ears and head swiveling around the room and taking in the familiar location. Kiva flinched when she realized her hand was propped on top of her husband's rib cage and he was struggling to breathe. Her hand came off him and he sucked in a few large breaths.
Vinny coughed a few times and took longer breaths, then sat up after his wife and turned on the lamp near his side of the bed. She looked frazzled: Her short fur had somehow managed to tangle itself up, her eyes were more red than usual, and her slumped posture managed to tell him everything he needed to know. He wrapped his arms around her own, which moments ago had almost choked the life out of him. When Kiva flinched at his gesture, Vinny sat on his knees and looked up into her eyes.
“What's going on? Are you alright?"
Kiva shook her head. “It's just a nightmare. I'm fine."
“Nightmares are one thing. This looked more like a night terror. I've never seen you like this."
She twitched under his gaze but said nothing.
“You won't get over it until you talk about it."
He may as well have been talking to a stone wall. Kiva was reluctant to speak or even give him body language to work with. Sighing, he got out of bed and grabbed one of the blankets they rarely used.
“Where are you going?" the Wolf finally spoke.
“Sleeping on the couch. I don't want to be crushed again." He turned back to her before opening the door. She looked like she wanted to protest, but whatever she was going to say never came out. “I know this thing with Hank is eating at you, but I promise it'll be okay. Goodnight, Kiva."
With that, he slipped through the door with his blanket and went down the hallway toward the living room. A nightlight plugged into the wall kept the room and its furniture illuminated. Vinny wasn't taking any chances with the miniature Cat anymore. He passed his shelf where Hank had made a comfortable nest out of common household materials next to the vent in the ground. The Human could make out a tiny figure slip out of the tissue blankets and yell at him, his words still soft thanks to his size.
“What's up? Something wrong?"
Vinny sat on one knee and whispered to him. “No. I'm going to be sleeping out here tonight for the foreseeable future."
“Oh? Worried about me? Or did you perform so poorly for the wife that she kicked you out here? I heard your little wrestling match earlier."
Vinny grimaced and felt heat rise from his chest. Hank looked frightened for a moment and backed up toward his bedding. Making sure to turn his head so he didn't knock him over, Vinny released the breath he held and stood up before moving to the couch and making himself comfortable. The couch was incredibly large and comfortable compared to any he had slept on in the past. Its fabric material was still a far cry from the plush ocean of bedding he was used to sleeping in. That, and he felt incredibly cold without the heat of his partner at his back.
He didn't sleep very well that night.
The past couple of days hadn't been very good for Hank. Between his "accidental" kidnapping and spending the week with a giant couple in the middle of nowhere, he was a little bit tired. It didn't help that his sleep has been regularly interrupted by the giants. At first, it was their incessant romps in the bedroom late at night that woke him. But now that they're sleeping in separate rooms, he's not so sure. Sleep doesn't come easy anymore even with Vinny sleeping on the couch. The little sounds of the cabin, like the creaking of wood or the hot air moving through the vents, were amplified thanks to his shrunken stature. And the banging from the bedroom didn't stop.
Sliding out of his makeshift bedding, the Cat carefully rubbed the sleep from his eyes making sure to avoid scratching himself with his claws. Weeks without a way to trim them led him to do it the old-fashioned way: clawing at a wooden surface and hoping they didn't break off. They were longer and sharper than he had ever let them grow. With no way to brush his fur, it tangled and clumped together like he had gone camping in the woods and slept on the ground for several days which wasn't far from the truth. The floorboards weren't as dirty as it was outside, but the giant couple avoided cleaning it while he was here for fear the vacuum cleaner would suck him up along with the dust. Brooms were fine but they also kicked up a storm and blew him off any surface he was on. They only cleaned when he was far away from them and they never used chemicals.
Hank stood up and stretched his body up and out, then got on all fours and arched his butt in the air, and grunted when he felt a series of cracks from his spine move up his tail. Satisfied, he rose to his feet and sauntered over to a cardboard wall folded to stand up on its own. On the other side lay a pile of napkins flat on the ground. Hank and Vinny had argued for a while about how he should take care of daily issues. After the incident, Hank was apprehensive to let any of them hold him higher than a foot above the ground knowing that anything past twice his current height was dangerous. Vinny then asked the obvious question of how he was going to deal with his waste. It felt degrading, but Hank managed to do his business with little trouble. He groomed himself where he could and put on his clothes. They were the same jeans, shirt, and coat from his initial outing.
Peering over the edge of the table, Hank took a careful step over and fell onto a surprisingly soft book cover. It was covered in faux leather which terminated into a pseudo-fabric. Each thread on the book's surface felt like a large ridge for his minuscule feet. At the end of the book lay another edge for Hank to look past and fall over, where he tread upon another book. This time there was less room for him to walk and he quickly fell to the next step on the impromptu staircase. It took him what felt like a dozen falls before he successfully reached the floor. Each book's spine was more than half as tall as him, and he knew from experience that climbing up them every night before bed was a great way to tire himself out and fall asleep quickly.
Even after living like this for so long, Hank found it difficult to comprehend the scale of the home he found himself in. The wooden floor stretched ahead like a parody of a desert plain. His destination, the kitchen counter, stood miles away like a mountain at the edge of the desert blocking the sun from view. With a sigh, the Cat began his journey across the great expanse. Motes of dust crawled past him like tumbleweeds skipping with the wind on an open field. Eventually, he reached the end of the wall he was following and stood at the crossing between the room and the hallway. To his left, the dark tunnel loomed ominously. He couldn't see anything past a few feet.
Hank waited for any telltale signs of giant activity. When he didn't hear or feel anything he quickly made his way across the gap toward the kitchen. For one agonizing minute, he crossed the threshold knowing that if any of the giants were careless enough they would walk down the hallway and flatten him.
This whole situation is hair-raising. The less time I spend away from a wall the better.
A metallic bump signaled the end of the wooden floor and the hallway. Hank stepped over it and entered the kitchen. He took a few steps onto the white tiles, turned toward his destination, and began the second half of his walk. Though he was technically more than halfway there, he knew that his journey had only just begun. The Cat stopped at the bottom of a cupboard and surveyed the area again for signs of intruders of incredible stature. The house answered back with its usual ambiance of creaking and groaning.
He skittered across the floor toward the center island and his final obstacle: A lengthy piece of twine hung from the countertop and swayed above the floor in his face. His routine for the past few days had been lengthy walks and a dreadful rope climb. He was no ninja warrior, but after repeating it enough he noticed hints of muscle beneath his once lean frame.
It's rare for us to get seriously bulky. I guess if a Cat runs around on the floor like a Mouse all day they're bound to bulk up.
Hank took a deep breath and steadied himself, then bounced off the floor and pulled himself up the rope with his arms. Once he was high enough his legs joined in and his climb went much quicker. Rather than trying to climb as quickly as he could, Hank took his time and paced himself. What little he remembered from gym class stuck out in his mind: slow but steady wins the race every single time. He might survive a fall from this height considering his miraculous recovery from the last one, but he didn't want to take any chances.
To call the climb arduous was like calling a grenade 'A little exciting.' Hank was climbing the equivalent of a multi-story building using just a rope and doing more physical activity in one morning than he had ever had to do for years. He spent half of his life indoors at his computer watching and making videos, and the other half exploring abandoned locations. He did lots of walking and climbing during those trips but nothing so extreme. Most abandoned places still had functional stairs. And if they didn't, it probably wasn't safe enough to bother finding an alternative way up. It wasn't quite a skyscraper compared to him, but it felt like it. Thankfully, there was no wind inside of the cabin to swing the rope around. There were occasional gusts of hot air from the vents lining the walls and floor but nothing that made his climb difficult.
Finally, he scrambled over the edge of the countertop and crawled onto it panting and gasping the entire time. He flipped onto his back and lay there for a while waiting for his heartbeat to calm down. The cool stone surface sapped his excess heat and helped him recover from his climb. Hank stood up and stretched, hoping the aches and pains of today's struggles would leave after he did it. He flinched when he felt a vibration pass through him. Then another, and another, and another all gaining strength with each subsequent step. His head pivoted toward the dark hallway just in time to see a colossal beast emerge from it.
The sandy-furred Direwolf casually sauntered toward the counter and walked up to it, resting her arms on the edge and looking at him. She did in a few steps something that took him an hour of walking and climbing.
Fucking hell. As if I need to be reminded of what she took from me.
Twin crimson orbs bore into him while he stood his ground and stared back. Neither said anything during their contest of wills. Hank felt butterflies in his stomach when the giant turned her eyes away from him and stood up. She walked off to the refrigerator, grabbed a bag from it, and returned to her seat. He recognized the package: It was some kind of protein meal they were trying to get through. It was silver and looked like tuna but tasted nothing like fish. Kiva opened the bag and scooped some out with her claw, then held it out for him to eat. He knew she wasn't trying to insult him, but literally eating out of her claws didn't exactly endear her to him. Scowling, Hank walked toward the massive claw and grabbed a chunk of the substance.
Kiva watched the tiny cat scoop globs of superfood out of her claw and idly chew it. Though he stepped away from her hand with his portions, she kept her limb as still as she could while it rested on the countertop. Watching him move around the house sent another pang of guilt through her heart. His appetite had nearly doubled since he began climbing the counter by himself every day, and they decided to feed him something stronger than their table scraps. It was a pragmatic if dull decision to give Hank better odds while he was shrunk.
It must be driving him insane to eat the same food every day though. I know it almost drove me over the edge to not be able to eat different food or touch the people I love. The protein isn't terrible, but it's bland as hell.
Hank sat down far away from her and continued eating his portion of the protein. She waited a bit to see if he would approach her. When he refused to budge, Kiva brought her finger to her mouth and licked the remaining food off her claw.
Regret sprung to the front of her mind. I should have let him grab the food from the bag.
The toy car Vinny had gifted her at the beginning of the week rested in her other hand. Aside from a few scratches from occasionally dropping it, there was no difference between then and now. She rolled it between her fingers a bit while she watched Hank have breakfast. She focused on the toy while staring at the Cat hoping to dredge up some emotion that would let her break a mental barrier and transfer some size to it. It was difficult to make out detailed emotions on his face thanks to his size, but she could easily smell the fear on him. Instead of growing in her hand, she shook it in frustration and let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding.
Her husband chose that moment to walk in from the bathroom and forage the kitchen for his morning meal. Vinny fell into the stereotype of every Human she had ever met and ran toward the coffee machine like an addict looking for his next hit. The overpowering smell of the liquefied bean swept away all of the other fragrances floating in the kitchen. It wasn't unpleasant to her senses. She was used to it after living with a Human for so many years, but she never understood their love for the narcotic.
“How's everyone doing this morning?" He flashed them a smile and raised his mug.
His unusually chipper attitude could at least help take her mind off her failure. She picked up noise from the counter but it was too quiet to make out any details. Vinny leaned in next to Hank and whispered.
“Repeat that, please?"
“It's fine. Climbing the rope is easier." She barely understood him at this distance.
“That's good! I'm glad you haven't fallen off the edge yet. I worry about you every morning, y'know?"
Hank didn't respond, but he didn't need to. He already made it clear that he didn't like being here with them. Based on what little conversation they managed to get out of him, Hank seemed like a good person they would have liked to spend time with. They shared common interests and lived relatively close to each other. If Kiva hadn't endangered his life they might have made great friends. She looked down at the bright red car in her hands and frowned. Turning around, Kiva walked out the front door without glancing at either of the men. She let the door slam behind her but made sure her tail was out of its way.
Once again, Kiva found herself standing outside in the same spot staring at the same damn piece of plastic in her hands. She grasped the toy in both hands, bent her knees, and took a few deep breaths. Deep in her gut, a twitch from an invisible muscle spread throughout her body. It was the same one she used to grow and shrink herself almost every day. When she pushed it too far, it felt like a combination of heartburn and a full-body workout. Heat rolled in her core and threatened to burst out of her. She drew on primal emotion, especially the ones she felt that night when she first shrunk. Rage, fear, and desperation tumbled inside her and out her hands into her hands. The Direwolf calmed herself and lifted one hand, revealing a plastic toy car that hadn't changed size.
Kiva grit her teeth, revealing fangs that looked incredibly pale next to her near-yellow fur. Taking in a deep breath, the Wolf's body twisted and her free hand shot out toward a nearby tree. Her entire body flowed with it, and the resulting impact made the outer layer of bark explode. Above her, the tree's branches shook off detritus which fell onto her head and the ground around her. Kiva shook it off in a series of twists starting from her head and ending at her tail. Afterward, she stood motionless and stared at the crater she left in the wood.
“I've heard of 'marking your territory,' but if you keep this up we're gonna run out of trees near our place."
Kiva turned her head and saw her husband approaching her in his pajamas and a pair of slippers. Even now he managed to sneak up on her. Hands in his pockets, he sauntered over to her and looked up into her eyes.
“What's the issue, big girl? You're usually really good at this stuff."
“It's this damn thing. I-I know it's possible to do. It just won't work!" An emotional dam burst. Now that they were both out of the house and away from their guest, she let her feelings run free. “I don't even feel comfortable at home anymore with him running around the place. Every single time I see him I'm reminded that I forced him into that position. I'm scared I'm going to step on something one day and look down and see his tiny corpse. I miss sleeping in the same bed as you and holding you in my arms."
Vinny paused at that. He took a moment to stare at her before responding. “You seem kind of tense. Maybe you need to relax?"
“Y'know, telling someone to relax never actually helps!" She snapped at him then immediately regretted it.
Vinny slid up to her and wrapped his arms around one of hers. Kiva recoiled but he still stuck to her. “Yeah, I know. But I know this whole thing has been eating at you and none of us have been sleeping well. Let me help you. You've been trying to do this by yourself so let's do it together."
Kiva looked down at the adult man staring up at her while hanging off her arm like a lost pup. Her pouting faded the longer she looked at him.
“Okay."
“Great!" Vinny bounced on his heels and took a step back from her. “Okay, what did you feel that day when you shrunk Hank? What was it like when he was in your mouth and you went back to normal?"
“Well, it didn't really feel like anything. I forgot he was in there in the first place until I tried to talk to you guys and realized he was in my mouth."
Vinny nodded. “Alright. Describe the sensations you feel when you grow and shrink."
Kiva paused and furrowed her brow. “Growing is like heat expanding in my stomach and trying to burst out of my fur. It never breaks out though and expands my body instead. Shrinking is a little bit like vertigo. That same spot in my stomach is pulling something in and I feel like I'm falling."
“It feels like this every single time?"
Kiva nodded.
“Okay. And how do you feel emotionally when you use them on yourself?"
“The first time I shrunk it was… I was so angry. I was pissed off at the world for how unfair it all was. Then it became sadness and eventually determination. I was so sure I could do it and I forced myself to. There was a moment where I swear I shrunk just a little. Once I noticed that I pushed at it until I kept going."
Vinny cupped his cheek with his hand and closed his eyes, deep in thought. After a few moments he looked at her again.
“I want to try something. It's a little meditation trick and kind of new age-y, but I promise it'll help at least calm you down."
Oh. I bet it's the yoga stuff. Kiva didn't really care for yoga or anything like it. She didn't mind stretching, but as far as workouts were concerned she liked the classic stuff. Aerobics, weightlifting, and plenty of muscle-building exercises. Vinny tried yoga and a few other hippy things for a few years and said he didn't get much out of them spiritually, but that he enjoyed exercising and meditation.
“Close your eyes and listen to my voice. Take a single breath: long and slow."
She followed his instructions, closing her eyes and taking a steadying breath.
“Good. Now keep breathing but slow them down. Count each breath until you're inhaling for four seconds and exhaling for seven. Hold it in a little bit before you exhale."
Cool morning air flowed down her throat and into her lungs. She kept it in for longer than normal but released it before it became uncomfortable. Counting in her head, Kiva began the next breath gently after the allotted time. She repeated this cycle a few times until Vinny spoke again.
“Keep doing that while you follow this. There's a power hidden deep inside of you. You'll feel it in your gut like a chakra or an energy source. Every time you breath it flows in and out of its spot. In and out. It gets bigger every time you exhale, but it never leaves your body. Now, I want you to imagine it flowing up your chest and through your arms. Every breath makes the energy trail down your arms longer until it's in your hands."
Electricity flowed from her chest to her arms, tingling her skin and making her fur stand on its end. The impossible energy reached her wrists and spread to her palm and out the tips of her fingers.
“Keep that up. Just keep- holy shit, keep going."
Between her palms, the plastic shape expanded and pushed her hands apart. It started slowly at first, but Kiva was surprised when it suddenly became too cumbersome to hold and she was forced to drop it onto the ground. At that point, it was tall enough to stand on its end and reach her outstretched hands. She kept at it, pushing more energy into the toy and trying to keep it from tipping over. She felt giddy. Giggles escaped her mouth and soon Vinny joined her. Eventually, she had to open her eyes and watch the car grow in front of her. Soon it was taller and wider than her husband, and then taller than her and still growing. She pushed it onto the tree she had previously assaulted and let it rest its weight on it. The energy cut off and she took a hasty step back to observe her handiwork.
The red toy car was twice as tall as her and leaning against a sturdy oak tree. Its plastic and metal wheels looked too large for it, and she could see seams across the plastic where the molds were imperfect. Overall, it had an uncanny look to it at this size. Kiva noticed that if she pulled it down to the ground she could probably fit inside the seat. She nearly jumped when her husband slid next to her and held her hand.
“See? I told you you could do it. It looks like a Claes Oldenburg statue."
Kiva turned to him and raised her eyebrow.
“I uh... I paid attention in art class."
Kiva didn't bother replying. This was a good start, but they still had to save Hank.
The dirt road to the lonely cabin in the woods was surprisingly smooth despite seeing almost no traffic. The barren oak trees that coated the land had left their leaves on the ground long ago, and they looked ready to grow a new batch for the returning spring season. Smith took a wide turn around a bend to avoid a pothole he hit last time he drove here. His car was issued to him by his agency, but that didn't mean he wanted to take it off-roading any time soon. He arrived punctually at 10:00 am and parked his car next to Vincent's ancient truck.
Stepping outside the sputtering metal coffin, Smith practically crawled out of it and attempted to stretch the journey's aches out in one motion. He stopped and gaped at a new object leaning against a tree. It looked like someone managed to inflate a toy car to the size of the real deal. Standing at twice his height, it precariously rested its weight against a nearby tree and looked like it might tip over at any second. He decided to make the trip quick just in case it did land on his car.
Before he could step onto the porch, the front door opened and Vincent sent him a grin that threatened to blind him.
“Welcome back! As you've probably noticed, Kiva has successfully solved our problems."
“I'll believe that once I've seen the Cat returned to normal. Did you wait for me? I want to see it in action."
Vincent took a step back and invited him in. Smith once again entered the cabin his agency gifted them and was struck by how similar the scene was when he left. Kiva stood on the opposite end of the kitchen counter talking to a miniature Cat who sat on the stone island. They both looked anxious and turned their heads toward him when he walked in. Smith walked toward the fridge and settled in his spot while Vincent closed the door and joined them.
“Alright," he said. “let's see it."
Kiva looked to her husband who nodded his head. She brought her hand to the Cat and lightly grasped his tiny body between her fingers. Next, she closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths. She seemed to be... meditating? Whatever it was, it was working. The doll-like figure in her hand began to steadily expand until he took up most of the table. She went from holding him in one hand to laying it on his chest. Everything expanded including his clothing. Eventually, he slid off the counter and stood on the floor about as tall as a toddler. When the top of his head got to Vincent's chest Kiva stopped and turned to him.
“Can you get a tape measure? I want to make sure we get this right. Plus, I need to practice being precise with this stuff."
Vincent, with a look that was too smug for his own good, pulled one out of his pocket.
“You said you were five foot six before, right?" He pulled the tape out until it reached that point and lined it up with him on the floor.
“Y-yeah. Uhm… Do you think we can add an extra inch or two? I don't think anyone will notice since I've been gone for so long."
The couple paused and looked at each other.
“Wow, that's what you sound like when you're not shrunk?" Vincent said.
Hank scoffed. “Please, just hurry up."
Kiva shrugged her shoulders and placed her hand on his chest again. She stared intently at his head and inched him up slower than before. Eventually, she finished and stood to her full height. Hank was shorter than everyone in the room but he was firmly average for his species. Smith didn't miss the wink she gave him when she finished. Hank patted himself down and stumbled around the living room like a sailor who had just gotten off a ship after years of adventuring on rocky waves.
“You didn't look at the tape measure." Vinny stated.
“I didn't need to. When he got to his original height, I felt an uh… it was like a 'notch' in the growth. It felt right to stop there. I hadn't noticed it before, but I felt the same thing whenever I grew and shrunk myself."
Vincent looked deep in thought at that. Smith felt his eyes bulging out of his skull.
“Astonishing. Kiva, you've done the impossible once again. This is huge! I don't know if you realize how important this is for the world. Your name is going to go in the history books." Smith's mind felt like it was going to catch on fire at the rate it was moving. Plans were shifting into place. He would need to make a lot of calls and turn in a lot of favors, but it would all be worth it.
“Can I use the bathroom? And the shower?" Hank asked.
“Yeah, go for it." Vincent replied.
“No, stop!" Hank froze. Smith sighed and reiterated his statement. “Use the bathroom. Don't bother showering. I'm taking you home as soon as I can."
With that, Hank ran down the hallway and slammed the bathroom door shut. He was probably very happy to use the toilet for the first time in a week. Smith turned to the couple and softened his gaze.
“The next year or two may get hectic while I drag you around the country helping your fellow macros shrink back to their original size. It will take a while for me to get approval though, so you two just relax while I handle all of that."
He reached into his jacket and pulled out a folder filled with papers and photos, then handed it to Vincent who handled it like a loaded weapon. He eyed it for a moment, then placed it on the counter.
“Alright. We're still not allowed to leave the state until then?"
“Yes. Business as usual. Don't worry: I'll try and loosen those restrictions while we're helping them out. Can't say you'll ever be allowed to travel internationally though."
Behind them, the telltale sound of a toilet flushing and a sink running was enough for them to guess that Hank was almost done. The Cat exited the bathroom looking refreshed and happier than usual. He strode up to Vincent and smiled.
“Y'know, I'm kinda gonna miss eating food larger than my body."
“We could always shrink you back down if you want." quipped Kiva.
“NO! That's fine. I'll be going now."
Vincent went for a handshake that turned into a half hug. Once he was done, Kiva fell to one knee in front of him and wrapped him in one of her bone-breaking hugs. Kiva was incredibly apologetic, and her husband joined her in asking for forgiveness. Hank ignored their apologies and quickly followed Smith outside to his car. He stopped to gawk at the giant toy laying on the tree but jumped into the car with him once he started the engine.
Smith turned down the bend and purposefully hit the only pothole on the path knowing it would launch Hank out of his seat. The Cat hastily put on his seat belt afterward. It was a petty psychological tactic to keep him on edge for what came next. Though, the sounds coming from his suspension were making him regret it.
“I don't need to impress upon you how important it is that you not tell anyone about what happened here." He purposefully lowered his voice, almost growling his words. “I noticed you never used your phone while you were here. I assumed you lost it and it was either buried in the rubble or shrunk and eaten by her."
Hank stayed silent and avoided eye contact with him.
“If, however, you do find it then I recommend you delete any footage you may have recorded while you were there. And if I do find anything popping up online after I drop you off, I'll make you disappear. Are we clear?"
“Y-yes." Hank mumbled.
“I said, are we clear?" Smith raised his voice.
“Yes sir!"
“Good."
The rest of the drive went by silently.
“So uh, now what?"
Vinny shrugged and peeped at the folder laying on the counter. Across the top of it was a stamped title: “Code name: Sobek" The first page went into detail about a location in Florida. If Smith has plans to tour his wife around the country and shrink giants then he wasn't about to complain. Free vacation and helping people out? That was a dream job for them.
Behind him, Kiva took advantage of his distracted state and placed a hand on his shoulder. Vinny felt a pulling sensation in his gut and watched the floor fall away from him. He stood still and waited for Kiva to finish, though he noticed that his head reached above their incredibly tall refrigerator. The once tall kitchen counter looked average compared to him, and the house finally felt like it was built for someone his size. Kiva released her grip on his shoulder and he immediately spun around to look her straight in the face.
"Wow." Vinny gasped at the sound of his voice. It was incredibly deep.
Kiva howled with laughter like it was the funniest thing she had heard. Her laughter was contagious, and Vinny found himself joining her. Once they calmed down he tried to do something he had always wanted to do. He put one arm at her waist and another on her shoulder and took the lead in an impromptu dance. Kiva followed along with him and they danced without music for a while, content to be in each other's arms. He wasn't used to taking initiative in anything, but his newfound size allowed him to assume the masculine position in their dance. Without music, it was a little awkward. Vinny was still used to being smaller than her and they stepped on each other's toes more than once. Normally, her chest blocked her view of him while he was squished underneath her. Now it only got in the way like it would for a regular-sized yet incredibly busty woman.
Their lips came together and he was shocked by how different every minute sensation was at this size. Kiva's overpowering tongue and aggressive attitude weren't gone, but he had more leverage to fight back.
“You are sleeping in my bed tonight." she growled. That was the only respite he got before she continued her assault.
“Yes ma'am!" he managed between short gasps for air.
Emboldened by his strength, Vinny widened his stance and scooped his wife up in a bridal carry. Kiva yelped in shock and his arms nearly gave out when the over half-ton of She-Wolf he hoisted fidgeted in his grasp. He managed to stomp his way into their bedroom and gently lay her down on one side of the bed before his muscles gave out. Kiva kept cackling like a Hyena at the novelty of the situation. She had probably only ever been carried like that once in her entire life when she was a kid. Giant pajamas slid off Vinny and onto the floor, and he made for the bed. He crawled on all fours toward her like she had done to him so many times.
The difference between the mattress before and now was stark: It was once a monolithic structure that Vinny had to climb onto. It was an ocean of blankets that fit his humongous wife perfectly. Now it looked like a regular-sized mattress holding his regular-sized wife. Her laughter ceased when he jumped onto it and carefully slid over her prone form. The Wolf's body language had flipped, and she presented herself to him with her arms above her head in submission. Animal instincts in his brain screamed at him to take her. Vinny tore her simple black top off her chest and dove face-first into it, latching onto a nipple and greedily sucking. He was rewarded with a burst of milk that became a constant stream thanks to his enthusiasm. Kiva moaned and squirmed under his grip, feigning defeat even though she was likely stronger than him even with the height advantage taken away. It would take more effort than usual, but he suspected that she could have easily thrown him off her.
He wasted no time with foreplay. While he was busy draining her breasts he used his free hand to pull her shorts down her lengthy legs. Once they reached her knee, Vinny's mouth abandoned her breast with a pop and he lifted her legs in the air and finished pulling her shorts off. Once he threw the stretchy black underwear to the floor he held her legs in the air and spread them out. Spreading his knees, Vinny positioned his waist near hers and used one hand to steady his erection.
“Oh God, it's so big!" Kiva's exclamation had a hint of amusement in it, but her face did show signs of apprehension. It really would be the largest thing he used on her aside from his arm.
Vinny lined up his member with her entrance and took great delight in teasing her by taking his time. When he slipped inside her, it was incredibly tight compared to what he was used to. Kiva compensated with a deluge of arousal that made her vice grip on his dick smooth. Once inside, he grabbed her ankles and thrust, pushing her against the headboard and shaking the enormous bed. What was once something only her strength could manage, Vinny was finally able to pull off himself. Each thrust left Kiva howling in tune with his deep grunts. A week of separation was no good for their stamina, however, and Vinny already found himself near the edge after a few minutes of rutting.
Nearing his climax, Vinny let go of her ankles and fell forward using his hands to slow his descent. They collided chest to chest, Kiva's titanic tits acting like a cushion for him and preventing him from closing the distance. Thankfully her snout was long enough to reach his mouth and their lips clashed. Their tongues fought for dominance while Vinny continued thrusting into her. A familiar chill worked its way down his spine and to his tip, and Vinny grunted one last time before lifting himself for a final thrust that impacted with a deafening slap against her generous ass. Kiva's long legs and arms wrapped around him, and she howled one final time while he exploded inside of her. The couple lay there for a moment basking in the afterglow of their passion.
Kiva was quick to recover. She looked her husband in the eyes and flashed him a toothy smile that he only witnessed during those moments where she got dangerously creative. She took a few experimental breaths and let her legs drop to the bed, then seemed to focus. Suddenly, Vinny felt that pulling sensation again and the woman below him began to shrink. No, he was growing again. It came in spurts though. Vinny was still inside of her, and whenever he grew he stretched her out a little more. Kiva grunted with each spurt, growing a little louder for every inch he gained. Worried for her safety, Vinny attempted to crawl off her but was surprised by the strength of the slowly shrinking Wolf who managed to keep him in place with her arms.
Eventually, she stopped and released him. Vinny pulled himself out of her now incredibly tight pussy and gawked at his new size. The bed they slept in, the one made for Elephants, looked more like a twin bed that he and his wife had to share. He very carefully rolled off it and stood to his full height, trying to ignore the creaking of the thick wooden frame. The cabin was built for larger species, including Giraffes, so he didn't hit his head on the ceiling. He reached out with his arms and realized he could almost touch it.
“This is really weird." He didn't flinch at his voice again, but he was surprised that it dropped another octave. “You uh, sure got good at that really quickly."
Kiva stood up and grabbed his hands, looking up into his eyes for once. The experience was so utterly alien that Vinny couldn't help but chuckle. The top of her head only reached his chest.
“Don't get used to it. I'm still the one in control here, remember? Now…"
Kiva turned around with a seductive look and bent over, placing her hands on the bed. For once, their pelvises seemed to line up while they were both standing and she wanted to take advantage of that. Vinny wasted no time grabbing her hips and sliding his expanded member between her cheeks. Even with his recent growth, Kiva was still able to comfortably take him despite his earlier worries. Once he found his spirit again, Vinny tried to find her entrance and realized he had to bend lower to reach it. He was rewarded for his struggles when he slipped in as smoothly as last time and earned another moan below him.
Instead of mindlessly rutting into her, Vinny took his time and carefully probed her for weak points. Being larger meant he had to reacquaint himself with everything, including her body. The slow plap, plap, plap, of his hips crashing into hers seemed like a good start. Kiva bent lower than ever and squeezed the sheets with her fists. Vinny raised a hand and smacked one of her ass cheeks, forcing a yelp out of her and making her arch her back even further. For a giant Wolf with as much muscle as she has, she's surprisingly flexible. Vinny appreciated her dedication to fitness before, but he's even more thankful now.
This continued for some time, Vinny slowly picking up the pace and handling the smaller woman. Kiva's moans grew louder and higher pitched until finally, she quivered around his shaft and drenched his lap and the floor beneath her in her love. Vinny pulled his still throbbing erection out and took a step back to observe his handiwork. Kiva's legs were shaking and she barely managed to not collapse while she recovered. Once she did bounce back, she stared wistfully at him and motioned for him to come closer. She sat up on the bed and grabbed his waist, pulling his shaft between her massive breasts and using them to squeeze the life out of him. He was finally large enough for the head to barely poke out the top, though they still dwarfed him due to their sheer volume. Vinny didn't last long. Less than a minute of toying with him using her chest and he felt a great pressure build up in his groin. He erupted between her tits while she continued to torture him and squeeze rope after rope onto her face.
Kiva looked surprised and a little annoyed, keeping one eye closed and facing away from him while she waited for him to finish. Vinny quickly recovered and laughed at her expense. She stood up and walked toward their closet, grabbing a towel to clean herself off.
“Let's say we take a quick break, big guy. Grab me something to drink." Once she was done cleaning herself, she used the towel to work on the carpet.
Moving around the house while he was a ten-foot-tall giant was an interesting experience. Ever since he married Kiva, he spent his life living in homes that ranged from too small for her or too large for him. The cabin was technically too large for him, but he had acclimated to all the idiosyncrasies of living in a home that was scaled for people much larger than himself. Walking through the house and using things at his size was uncanny. The refrigerator was shorter than him, but besides that, it was all perfect. He didn't need a stepladder to reach the high cupboards, he didn't need to put much effort into opening and closing doors, and the tables weren't so high that he looked like a child standing next to them.
Vinny returned from his pilgrimage with two plastic jugs of water that would have each required two hands to carry when he was smaller. Kiva wordlessly accepted one from him and they sat on the end of the bed together, drinking water and talking about their future.
“What if I grew a rare material and gave it to everyone?"
“Like titanium or gold?" Vinny still wasn't used to his low voice. He sounded like he was speaking through a heavy filter. “Let's assume that it keeps all of its properties when you expand it and nothing seriously changes to it at a molecular level. You defy physics and just make more of it. If only the US gets a giant supply of titanium then other countries will immediately catch on. That's not something you can hide from people, especially in the quantities you're proposing."
Kiva's ears stood still and her tail wagged gently behind her, occasionally batting her husband. She was immersed in his ideas, hanging onto every word that came out of his mouth.
"Even if you don't crash the market other countries will probably get their size-shifters to do it too. Then you're starting a different kind of resource war. Plus, we don't know if growing or shrinking things has bad long-term effects yet. What if that car outside turns back to normal later or explodes or something? What if when you die the world's supply of titanium instantly shrinks back? What if they do that with uranium?"
The Direwolf leaned forward and settled her weight on her knees. The water jug dangling from her hand was already halfway gone. Her ears suddenly perked up and her tail wagged faster than ever.
“I just realized something! I can go to the store and buy clothes meant for small people, then grow them to my size! That'll save me money and It'll let me have any kind of clothes I want."
Kiva grinned and showed off rows of terrifying teeth. Vinny instinctively smiled back.
“That's a great idea! Only one problem: the clothes aren't just small that way either. They aren't built for a woman of your uh... shape."
Kiva tilted her head in thought. It took her a second to comprehend, but when she did her eyes widened and she slapped him on the arm. Vinny couldn't help laughing at her expense, then laughing even harder at his foghorn-like voice. He put an arm over her shoulder and eventually calmed down.
“Alright alright," Kiva lifted her water jug “to the future."
Vinny mimicked her and they toasted with a loud plastic crinkling sound. The couple began chugging the rest of their water, not stopping until they were both completely drained. Kiva stood up to her full height and stretched, reaching for the ceiling but not quite making it. Vinny mimicked her and reached for the ceiling, unable to touch it but getting closer than her. When he finished, he flashed a smug grin at her and patted her head.
“I told you not to get used to this." she said. “Let me remind you of who is in charge."
She reached up and grabbed his shoulders. Electricity danced down them and made his heart stutter. Earlier while he was growing he felt a pulling sensation in the pit of his stomach. Now he felt the opposite; like he was falling from a great height. His vision incremented lower until he was staring straight ahead into Kiva's crimson eyes, and then staring up at them, and eventually, he felt like he was at his original height. Her chiseled abdomen lay ahead of him, and he could barely see her lecherous grin beyond her monumental chest. Her now giant hands wrapped around his shoulders and her fingers stretched behind him and tapped his back. The falling sensation continued and Vinny's vision crept lower until he was face-to-face with her soaked crotch. Now that she had a break, she was ready for more action.
The giant clawed hands came off his shoulders and fell onto his head. They were large enough to completely wrap around him, but instead, they pulled him into her and mashed his face into her soaked pussy. At his normal size, her entrance was large enough for Vinny to seriously dive into. Now though? He could probably fall into her at this rate. Kiva moaned while he shook his head back and forth, struggling under her iron grip. She rolled her hips a few times, crying out with each forward thrust. When she finally let go, Vinny took a great gasp of air. Kiva bent down and grabbed him under his arms, then hoisted him up to her face.
“Oh my goodness, you are so cute like this!" Kiva brought her lips to him and smothered his face in kisses. Her larger lips covered his entire face and each smooch left him breathless.
Her kisses trailed down his body and forced a few giggles out of him when her soft skin pressed against his chest and stomach. Each peck went a little lower until she got to his waist and gave him a long, soul-sucking kiss that left him breathless. He couldn't tell when exactly her kisses became oral, but he could feel more of his size disappear with each suck. Eventually, he diminished so much that she stopped bothering to hold him up with her hands and left it up to her tongue. The giant slippery organ slid between his legs and lifted him, soaking the inside of his legs. He leaned forward and grabbed onto her nose for support. She began sniffing him and basking in his scent, creating a feedback loop where the more she pleasured him the more he would sweat and the more she wanted to smell.
Finally, Kiva halted the shrinking. He was twice as tall as Hank was, able to fit in her palm but almost as tall as her hand. She picked him up from her tongue and gently carried him to the bed where she lay on her back and dropped him onto her chest.
“Now then," her voice boomed above him and reminded him of that time when she first started growing. “Climb up here and ride my nipple. Tease some milk out of them before we get to the main course."
Not wanting to anger the giant, Vinny complied and climbed up one of her sandy mountains to her dark nipple. It was almost as long as his leg, and the areola was almost as large as him. Feeling adventurous, Vinny began wrestling with the protrusion and trying to find new ways to grip it. Kiva's steady breathing picked up and caused her slowly bobbing breasts to bounce. Vinny straddled the giant nipple and rode it like a bucking bronco, even making hooting and hollering noises. Kiva laughed, causing him to slip off and tumble into her cleavage. The job was finished though, and he climbed up to the next one.
Her fur made great leverage for climbing. Once again, he made it up to the dark brown pillar and fought with it to get the blood and hopefully the milk flowing. He battled with an enemy that only grew stronger with each loss. Her nipple grew in size and strength along with her moaning. Vinny took a moment to look around and he saw her rubbing her finger over her entrance while he teased her chest with his tiny body.
“Hey honey, check this out." her voice sounded like a roar to him.
Kiva pinched the nipple Vinny sat on and tugged it. A torrent of milk sprayed out of its pores and soaked him to the bone, blasting him off her chest and onto her dense abs. The giant laughed at his plight, shaking her body and bouncing him around while he fought to regain his footing. When she finished, he stood up and yelled incomprehensibly at her. She just laughed some more.
“That's revenge for the facial. Now then…" She leaned forward in a crunch, almost crushing his feet between her abs, and glared at him. “Remember that old game you played with me back then? It was called cave explorer."
She gave a knowing look to him, then her giant maroon eyes lowered toward her crotch. Vinny smiled and accepted his fate. He trudged down her stomach toward it, bracing himself whenever he walked and the Direwolf giggled at the patter of his tiny feet on her most sensitive areas. When he reached her soaked entrance, he slid down to the hole and attempted to do things the 'old-fashioned way.' Kiva wasn't having any of it though and she stuffed him inside of her.
Vinny's world became a hot and humid cave that pulsed in time with his wife's heartbeat. He knew the score: wiggle a bit and grab at the walls and she would be kissing him in a few minutes. What he didn't expect was how different the physics worked now that he was shrunk instead of her being a giant. He had real strength here. Compared to that first time out in the woods, he was a solid object and he could throw his weight around. Kiva howled outside, her deep voice vibrating inside her body and shaking Vinny. He felt her heartbeat down here, blood pumping into her loins faster and faster and gaining in intensity. She crushed him between her lips and he felt her finger push him in deeper and tap at her clit while he squirmed. He fought for air and freedom for what felt like forever until finally, a deluge of cum soaked him and mixed in with the milk and precum he was already covered in.
Once she calmed down, Kiva went silent except for her consistent and strong heartbeat. Vinny slipped out of her and onto her palm, which gently carried him to her looming face. Kiva cleaned him with a hand towel on the nightstand next to her, then furrowed her eyebrows and a familiar pulling sensation marked the start of his growth. Feeling himself slide against his wife's massive furred body and the sheets of their bed was interesting. It was akin to being dragged two directions at the same time. Once he reached his original height, Kiva finished and let out a deep breath that she must have been holding the entire time. She licked and kissed him, slobbering all over his face while he fought back with his own kisses and attempted to hug her. She retaliated with her trademark hug that enveloped his entire body and threatened to crush him completely. Instead, he merely had the wind knocked out of him and she rolled onto her back with him laying on her stomach with his face between her breasts. Without trading a single word, the couple drifted to sleep immediately.
Waking up atop a giant wall of furry muscle wasn't unusual for Vinny. When he regained consciousness that morning it took him longer than usual to remember what had happened yesterday. Kiva's heavy breathing gently bobbed him up and down and her ponderous heartbeat threatened to put him back to sleep if he didn't force himself to move. He was filled with a listless energy one gets when they wake up on the right side of the bed but they don't have anything to do that day. He figured that if he was going to be productive at all today, he would need coffee. Vinny picked up his clothes from last night and dropped them in frustration when he realized they were still meant for a ten-foot-tall giant. Settling for a fresh pair of boxers from his drawers, he set out to the kitchen.
In their mad race to make up for a week of abstinence and then some in a single night, Vinny forgot to fill the machine with coffee and water. He checked the clock on the oven.
9:27. It would have been made almost a half-hour ago.
Dejected, Vinny filled the machine and manually started it, and stood in the kitchen while it ran. Right as he saw steam wafting out of its vents, a knock on the door startled him out of his morning drowsiness.
People don't come out here often. Smith again already?
He carefully made for the door and grabbed one of his coats hanging on the rack to cover himself before pulling it open. A tall bovine woman stood outside and nervously eyed him up. She had small horns poking out of voluminous red hair, a curvy figure that wouldn't look out of place on a model, and white fur with red splotches scattered randomly around her. She was a full head taller than Vinny and probably outweighed him significantly. She reminded him of some of the Cows he went to school with, and some of the ones he met at the local fair. She also seemed incredibly familiar.
“Can I help you?"
“Hello, uh…"
“Vinny."
“Vinny. My name is Millie. We met at the fair last year. We had a disagreement and it ended with your wife ripping a building apart and spraying us with milk."
Memories came rushing back of a trio of Cows ambushing him in a dilapidated office building. And his wife, subtle as ever, answering with disproportionate force.
“We uh… may have gotten physical with you."
“You sexually assaulted me." Vinny sniped back.
Millie recoiled like she had been struck. Her haughty demeanor crumbled instantly and she went from a dignified looking figure to a young woman out of her depth. “I-I, we did some bad things. I can see how you might not w-"
“What do you want?" he interrupted.
“I need your help!" she blurted. “After you left us there I didn't think anything of it, but one of my friends started growing and now I don't know what to do."
Vinny raised an eyebrow at that. “And your first instinct was to come to me instead of the government because…"
"I figured you would know what to do since your wife is a size changer. Plus, I can't lose Jenny. She's a third of my business and without her, I lose a lot of money. I'm not gonna let them take her from me."
Taking a deep breath, Vinny closed his eyes and held it before slowly letting it out of his mouth. First, they get done with Hank, and now this? He opened his eyes and smiled, causing Millie to freeze in place.
“Alright. Where is she and how big is she?"
