Oscar entered the lonely cave, and quickly felt the urge to cry, but sucked it up and sat himself just inside. The cave was more like a den than anything else: a stone wall a few meters in, bedding and no spikes uprising from the floor. Oscar waited around for a couple more minutes before someone he knew arrived. They wore an orange and white striped tee, with a fluffy jumper consisting of only red. They also wore lanky brown denim shorts with plain white sneakers. The friend smiled at him, before flashing a smile back. He continued to go place himself neatly on the bedding.
"How are you holding up Oscar?" He asks through mouthfuls of a sneaky bar he must've grabbed before coming here.
"Good I guess... but I don't feel so good knowing what'll happen to me when school starts for the second term." Oscar replied back, flexing his paws and feeling a short trip of anxiety.
"Well. Why did you call us here? Just for a talk, or for something more important?"
"Uhhh... you'll see. We just need Ark to show up"
As they finish the small conversation, a figure about fifty meters away starts jogging over to them. She wears a black tee with a black jumper, a white sweatband on her left arm, black trousers and purple runners.
"Did I - miss anything - Oscar and Rhys?" She said through breaths rather slowly.
"Probably not" Rhys responded looking up at Oscar, and he shook his head.
"So, you know how I was ditched? I want to find some, uhh, answers" Oscar started, a minuscule tremble in his voice. He knew this could be a bad idea, but he was sick of being so dumbfounded and clueless. The least he wanted was the truth.
"Yeah, I get you. But what do you want us to help you with?" Ark continues with another question, a slight amount of sympathy poured into her sentence.
"That's what I was going to say!" Rhys laughs it off and gets Ark to sit next to him, a nice and comfortable gap between them.
"Firstly, I think we should uncover why people don't like me. As in, I do know, but maybe something happened earlier on, like a minuscule 'war'" Oscar wandered around the cozy opening, while the two other twelve year-olds nodded, acknowledging that it could be possible.
"It could be true" Rhys budded in. "Our town rarely talks about our history, if not at all. I believe we should start on this idea" The way Rhys' voice sounds is of complete confidence, and this is seemingly a better idea then what Oscar originally thought.
"Thanks. Could we have little meetings here every-so-often, maybe once a week?" Oscar questioned, making sure to add a tint of convincing voice.
The two nodded and plucked themselves off the bedding, and waved a goodbye to Oscar, as the two began a conversation into town.
Oscar, left on his own once again in the wasteland of snow, leaned against the stone, mulling over whether or not the hypothesis was that great. It did have its flaws, like suspicion from the other untrustworthy humans or finding out something that would make him feel even more minor than he was now. Oscar pushed himself off the wall and squinted as the suns rays blinded him when he looked outside. He cursed and tripped over, a groan escaping him.
"Couldn't get any better huh" He mumbled before persuading his body to get up again.
The rest of the morning was quite surprisingly fun, with Oscar finding Ark and Rhys sitting on a wooden chair next to the fountain. He joined them and they went around buying all sorts of weird crap, like mini soccer/football balls, to paw/hand-sized lollipops. Oscar thanked them, and trudged through the snow-covered town of Druffledown, until he was out of the town fully. He noticed a few guys from his school playing a dangerous 'game' behind the dead trees. They were seemingly hanging from a long rope attached to a colossal tree, and each daring each-other to see how far they could land when the let go. Oscar tried to walk past with pace. He managed not to be discovered, and went ahead onto a snowy trail that lead to a 2-path split. He instantly went right, the direction heading to Serimas, a bright-glowing establishment with plenty of bubbly and enthusiastic civilians. This was probably Oscar's favourite destination to go to, as these humans are practically the best he knows. Not that he knows much about the furless specimen, but from as far as Oscar could tell some humans are better than others. He found that out the hard way.
Upon getting into the sweet atmosphere of Serimas, three young children, a girl and two boys, waved ecstatically at Oscar, who waved back with an immediate grin spreading across his face. He strolled through town, passing subtle brink homes with a few homes having smoke exhaled from chimneys. This village also had terrifically cut pine trees, and the smell from the pine wafted over Oscar. Once he got to where he wanted to go, Oscar blew into his hands and rubbed them together, then looked up to the interestingly large building. Seemed like a factory more than anything if you didn't know the village well enough, but Oscar's been in this place several times, at least twice a week. He then sees the entrance, a newly-installed auto-sliding door and makes sure to wipe his back paws on the mat just inside the facility. Hopefully he can put a couple of pieces in place.
Inside, the majority of the civilisation stayed. It was beautifully warm, as the heaters breathed the warm gas. There were also rows upon rows of wooden chairs and tables, where most of the kind humans are stationed at. Oscar walks around and into the clump, making complete sense of his surroundings, as he doesn't want someone to judge him, even though these humans would understand. The floor creaks in protest from holding the weight of all the people, creating a meaningless worry inside of Oscar. Fortunately, Oscar exits the mass on the other side and ahead of him are wooden stairs leading up to another lounge upstairs. He plants one foot on the luscious wood, testing it. Easily stable, Oscar raced up the stairs, and soon came to the second level, where he may get some truly justified answers from.
