Pokemon Isekai Journey chapter 8

Journey to Azelea town begins, a unexpected snow storm

“oh no not this again.” I said as I realized my dream was turning on me again. I found myself inside that very same room again, blood splatter all over the wall, and I could hear a very distinct growl coming from behind the door this time.

“You are an interesting human, Will. I wonder what you would do if I took everything you know and love.” It spoke.

“Why are you doing this? I know it you Donmario. I don’t understand why you are so bent on destroying everything.” I said, looking at the closed door.

“I am a product of dimensions. I was born in between realities, I’ve seen and felt everything that exist. I have learned that the root of all problem are you humans. In the pokemon world you act like you own everything and control everything around you. Even in your own world…. Yes I know your not from the pokemon world Will.” It spoke again.

“How would you know this?”

“I know everything Will. I’m the complete opposite of my sister Will. The one you know as Arceus. Even though she was born in time and space, she doesn’t have complete control of dimensions as I do. I can create worlds from nothing and I can destroy ones that I don’t like.” It went on.

“Why are you so evil?” I said.

“I’m not evil Will, I just want balance with everything. Like humans need to be put in check or they will destroy everything. Look at your own world and how it works. Humans do so much harm, most of the time they don’t even see it.”

“But we humans are all the same Donmario, there are those of us who can learn from our mistakes and try to make the world a better place.” I told him.

“It matter not, humans will always do what they do best…. Destroy. So I will simply bring about their demise. Enjoy your time while it last because in a year or so I will come for you and then I will destroy everything.” It broke out in a cruel laugh.

“NOOOO I WON’T LET YOU!!!” I yelled but as I did the door opened again and once again I saw my mother.

“Ease my child, calm thyself. All is well.” I heard someone say soothingly. I started to shake and cry violently. For the first time, I felt fear, truly scared of what is coming.

“It is okay, I’m sorry I couldn’t gain control sooner. It seems he’s stronger than I previously thought.” Arceus said calmly.

I continued to weep as looked up at her.

“How am I going to beat him? He told me he has powers over the dimensions. That’s on par with you if not more so. I’m going to need a lot more luck and power to best him. I was hoping to reason with him. But he as mad as they get. Like crazy, what he wants reminds me of something from my old world. From a movie, a tyrant want to bring balance to the universe and by doing so kill half of everything alive.”

“Anything is possible as long as you believe it Will. You were right to defend humans. Yes humans have done some really bad things but there are those who try to fix it. So again try to look pass what he said.” She said.

“I’ll talk to you later. I’m ready to wake up from this nightmare.” I told her and sure enough I opened my eyes and found myself back in my room of the pokemon center. I looked around me and found that Fira, Yuna and Princess were all still fast asleep. So silently I got up and decided to take a hot shower to ease my nerves. After that I came back out and began to pack up everything.

About an hour later once I was finished packing I woke everyone up.

“Come on everyone, we’re leaving now. I want to get this party on the road.” I said to them all. Fira groaned and so did Yuna but obey. Princess merely hopped down and sat next to me. I returned Yuna to her pokeball and place it in my pocket. I looked at Princess. “I’m going to put you in the your pokeball for awhile okay.”

“As you wish.” She said, she closed her eyes as she disappeared inside the pokeball.

Only Fira remained outside her pokeball. “Is everything okay Will, you seem tense? Are you still mad about yesterdays fight?”

“No but I will explain at some point. I’m not exactly okay at the moment had a really bad dream and I want to just get on the road.” Fira nodded and hopped onto my backpack and assumed her spot on top. I made my way out into the main lobby of the pokemon center.

“Morning Will, are you heading out?” Nurse joy greeted me.

“Yeah, there no point in me staying any longer since I’ve obtained the Feathers Badge. Oh if you see that Cylo trainer tell him sorry, something came up. I had to leave out.” I told her.

“Leaving without me?” I jumped as I heard someone say behind me. To my surprise Cylo was standing behind me, all packed up.

“I figured you would try something like this. Why?” He asked.

I massaged the spot in between my eyes around the center of my upper bridge of my nose. I took a deep breath.

“Follow me and I’ll explain.” I waved goodbye to Nurse joy after I gave my key card back.

Cylo followed me until I stopped right at the edge of town.

“Look I don’t think I can travel with you after all. I have something going on that I really don’t want to get you involved.” I told him. A gust of wind picked up and blew past us. I felt my hair swayed in the wind.

“What are you implying? You say it as if I’ll be putting myself in danger if I come along with you.” He said.

I nodded, “Precisely, there are things about me that no one knows and I plan to keep it that way.”

“I mean Will. I thought we were friend, you know I’d help you if you need it.” He told me.

I stared off in the distant. Cylo sighed closing his eyes. “Alright, I’ll concede for now. But in the future if you ever need help don’t hesitate to find me. I will be heading home since you aren’t up to traveling for now. I was planning on heading home anyway, lets exchange digits when you get to Goldenrod should come visit me. I’m right behind the department store.”

With that we did just that, once we traded numbers we went our separate ways.

In my heart I knew this was the right thing to do. I don’t need any one to find out about my path or whats going on in my party. Looking up at Fira who was sound asleep.

I looked onward and headed forward. I felt a cold breeze blow past me, making me bury my hands into my coat pockets.

As I walked I found that the temps were getting colder and colder, I noticed above me that the sky had begun to cloud up.

I pulled out my phone to look at the map. As I had figured, still a long ways from Azelea town. I did remember that along this route there was a pokemon center before you went into some caves. So I decided to make my way to that. I pulled my egg further into my jacket to keep it warm from my body heat.

An hour passed and the clouds above got thicker as I moved along the path. The temp dropped even more. “Will I think it’s going to snow soon.”

I heard Fira say above me. She hopped down and walked beside me. Sure enough I saw flakes of snow start to fall. “This can’t be normal.” I said. I picked up my pace.

I noticed that there were no pokemon out anywhere I could see. “There something coming.”

Fira decided to flare her fire up to try to keep me warm as I walked. “Thank you.”

“I figured you were getting cold Will. How much longer do we have until we get to some sort of shelter?” She asked.

The flakes of snow began to fall even harder, “Well there is a Pokemon Center just up a head but I don’t know how far it is.”

Soon the snow came down in thick white blanket, covering the path. Wind stared to kick up blowing the snow in every which direction. “Like shit, this is becoming a full blown blizzard. Fira I’m going to have to put you in your pokeball.”

“No I’m the only thing keeping you warm.” She protested. I noticed her flames had started to die down as well. She was getting cold too.

“This isn’t up for debate.” I told her, I pulled her pokeball out and returned her. She cried out before disappearing inside the pokeball.

I shoved my hands back into my pockets and walked a bit faster, trudging through the snow. The snow started to become deeper on the path. I honestly couldn’t see where the path was. I tried my best to keep going.

“Damn it, this is bad. If I knew this was going to happen I’d had stayed in Violet.” I said cursing at myself for my lack of choice “I should’ve check the weather before I left.”

I heard something behind me, I turned quickly and sawing nothing but the snow obscuring my field of vision. I heard it again which sounded like a growl. Fear started to take root, I took off running down the path. Running my best through the thick snow.

I wiped my face as I ran, suddenly my foot slipped on something beneath the snow and I slid down a hill. “AHHH.” I yelled, my head slammed into something hard. I blacked out.

“Will what are you doing?” I looked up and saw my mother. I looked around me, I was back in my room. I had my gameboy in my hands, drool hung from my face.

“Did you fall asleep?” She asked.

“I guess I did mom.” I replied, I looked around in total confusion. How did I get back here. That couldn’t have all been a dream.

“Come on sweetie, come have dinner. I made meat loaf.” She said. She walked back out of my room. I stood up looking around my room, still wondering how I got here.

“That couldn’t have been a dream. Fira, yuna Princess.” I tried to remember the last thing but I couldn’t.

I walked out of my room and made my way down a hall into the living room where Mom had set up both us.

She was already sitting down and had started to eat her food. I saw my place and I walked up, sitting down.

“So how was school?” Mom asked.

“Wait what.” I said coming back to reality.

“How was school?” She repeated. I merely looked at her.

“You must’ve had a really interesting dream Will. Your pretty out of it." She said.

"Yeah I had a dream that I was in the pokemon world going on a journey to save it.” I told her. “I was picked my the god of pokemon to travel from this world to the pokemon world to help save it.”

“Well aren’t you going to save it.” She said.

I looked at her, processing what she said.

“I’m not really here am I?” I said. I looked around and the walls started to become distorted.

"WHAT THE!!!” I yelled standing up, the table, the walls everything began to melt away. I looked back at my mother, “AHH.”

She took on the same look as I seen in my other dreams. Her eyes became sunken in.

“Will you must wake up.” I heard someone yelling at me.

It was like a distant voice yelling at me. “WILL YOU NEED TO WAKE UP!!!”

I opened my eyes, I lifted my head and found myself covered in snow at the bottom of a hill. I looked back up, I could see two figures at the top looking down.

“Is there anyone down there.” I heard one yell.

All I could muster was a terrified yell. “Shit it’s a kid down there, Bobbie hold on to the rope I’m going down there.”

I tried to move but I had no strength what so ever. The cold had completely zapped my strength. I looked back up and saw a tall bearded man with a rope around his waist slowly drawing near me.

I tried once again to move, I realized I had blood gushing down the side of my head. How hurt am I?

“Easy kid, I got you, just stay still. Do you have any pokemon that can help.” He asked. I nodded and slowly pulled out all three of my pokemon. They all appeared in a flash, they all looked around before locking onto me. Fira eyes widen when she saw my blood.

“WILL.” They all said in unison. I carefully pulled out the egg and gave it to Yuna to hold onto. “Princess, Fira listen to anything this man has to say.” Was all I could muster to say. I looked one last time at the beard man who was looking me over.

I passed out again.

“Will can you hear me?” I heard someone say. I could only see darkness and I felt so cold.

“Uhn.” I groaned.

“Just take it easy, your in safe hands. Pleas hold on.” I could hear the worry in her voice. I knew who it was but I didn’t have the strength to talk.

Bitter cold was all I felt, though soon. The weirdest feeling came over me. I slowly felt warmth begin to seep back into me.

I slowly opened one eye, I found myself laying on a bed. I was hooked up to an IV bag that hung above me. I looked around, “Where am I?” I said. I moved my legs and felt something at the foot of the bed. I saw Fira laying curled up in a ball at the foot.

She abruptly lifted her head up looking at me. “WILL.” She yelled, she threw herself at me. Pain erupted over my body as her weight pressed down on me. It was like pines and needles all over my body.

“What happened? Where are we? I don’t remember much.” I said.

“I can explain that.” I heard a male voice. I looked across the room at a chair. Within it sat a man. It was the same bearded man I saw before I passed out.

“I must say your very lucky I found you kid. I don’t know how long you were down there but when I found you, you were barely conscience.” He said.

“Thank you for saving me. I’m assuming that we are at the pokemon center correct.” I replied.

“Yeah we are, It took me a better part of an hour to make the final trek to here. Nurse joy work round the clock to carefully warm your body up.” He said,

“How long have I been out?” I said.

“Its been about two days now.”

“Two days, I need to get going.” I said as I tried to get up. Fira pushed her full weight down on me. Pushing me back down onto the bed.

“There is no point Kid. The roads blocked from all the snow. It’s still snowing out there. Only those who have the proper equipment can leave. Might as well kick it back and recover. You took a hell of a hit when you fell down that hill. It’s a wonder you didn’t die.” He said.

“I guess. So whats you name?”

“My name is Steve. I live near by, I was heading home from Violet City when I noticed your tracks.” He said.

“Thank you.” I said.

“My pleasure Kid, I’m glad I was able to get you here in time. Try to relax now. I’ll go and let the Nurse your awake. Though before I leave I must tell you, your pokemon are quite something. They were the biggest help in carrying you. That Quilava hasn’t even left your side since you’ve been here.” He said before turning and leaving out of the room.

Once gone I felt something smack my face.

I held my hand to my face in shock, Fira looked at me with fire in her eyes. Tears rolled down her face. She remained quiet until finally her voice shaking. “You fool, I told you not to put me into the pokeball.”

“Fira I had to.” I tried to protest.

"No you didn’t you fool. I would’ve been able warn you about the hill. I could’ve melted some of the snow to help see the path. I already figured out what happened.” She said in between breath.

“I thought I’d lost you Will. When we called us out, back when you were still at the bottom of the hill. My heart dropped and I was really scared Will.” She said. She abruptly grabbed my face with both her soft paws. She leaned in and kissed me.

I wrapped my arms around her embracing her. We stayed like this for a moment before she pulled away. I reached up and wiped her tears from her eyes. “I’m really sorry love. Lesson learned.” Was all I said.

She slowly pulled herself off. “I’m going to get the other two, I’m sure they both wanna see you awake.” She darted out of the room. I laid back in my bed staring at the ceiling above me.

I laid there thinking, this had to be the closest I’ve came to actually dying. Odd feeling to be had. I stared at the ceiling tracing the lines of the tiles that make up the ceiling, I watched a dim light fixture flicker. “I wonder how Mom is doing?” I said out loud.

The door to my room opened up and Nurse Joy came in with a tray containing a bowl of hot steamy soup and some slices of bread. She placed it on a table that she wheel closer to my bed.

“How are we feeling? I figured you must be hungry, so I brought you some soup.” She said. She placed a hand on my forehead, checking my temp. “Well your fever has gone down but your still very warm to the touch. How are you feeling Will?”

I slowly propped myself up on my pillows, “I feel like I’ve been put through a meat grinder to be honest. MY whole body feel like pines and needles.”

“Well that’s to be expected, your body temp was way below than it should be. You very lucky that Steve found you when he did. Otherwise I feel you probably wouldn’t be here. Thank Mother Arceus that you made it.” She said. “I’ll leave you for now to eat your food, I’ll be back after while with some medicine. Try to relax, it’ll be at least a couple days before you fully recover.”

With that, she turned and walked out of the room. Before the door shut two more enter into my room. Whom I’ve honestly been wanting to see. Yuna and Princess walked up and hopped onto the bed both throwing themselves at me. I winced as pain shot through my body.

“I’m so glad your alright, when you released us. We were afraid we’ve lost you.” Yuna said crying. She hugged me tightly even wrapping her tail around me.

"I’m sorry, I made a mistake in leaving Violet city before looking at the weather. That snow storm came out of nowhere.” I told them. Even Princess had some tears rolling down her face, truly grateful that I’m alright.

“Truly I’m alright girls, it’ll take a lot more than that to take me out.” I told them.

“That’s not the point Will. Fira told us how you put her into her pokeball while it was getting worse. I agreed with her, that was a huge mistake. Have more faith in us Will. She could’ve helped you keep on the path. Like what happened.”

So I began recalling the events on after I initially returned Fira to her pokeball. I began to run through the snow, and how I ended up slipping on something beneath the snow and ended up sliding down a huge hill.

“After that I blacked out, because I remember seeing that I was back in my own house in the other world. I remember someone yelling at me to wake up. When I came to I was at the bottom of the hill, blood gushing from my head, I remember seeing the guy named Steve. Than the last thing I remember was releasing you three from your pokeballs to help him.” I explained.

“We did everything we could to help that kind man. Fira helped clear the snow as Me and Princess help bring you up the hill. It took us awhile to finally get here.” Princess explained.

“I heard. So I guess we’re are going to stay here for a few days while I recover. I wasn’t planning on something like this to happen.”

“Neither did we, I get the feeling that the snow storm wasn’t something natural to be honest.” Princess said.

“What do you mean?”

“Well before we left Violet the sky had no indication nor did the air feel like there was going to be snow. I think a pokemon brought about it. My question is which one.” She said.

“I did have that feeling when the sky began to cloud up all of a sudden and the temps dropped like a rock.” I said, I leaned towards the table picking up the bowl of soup and began to eat.

“Are you sure your okay?” Yuna asked, finally taking note of the bandage wrapped around my head.

“Yeah I’m okay Yuna, I promise.” I said in between bites. I consumed the entire bowl and the slices of bread quicker than I’d like. I was hungrier than I thought I was. I placed the bowl down and took a sip of something that Nurse joy had also brought it. Tasted very similar to sprite. I placed the cup back down and slowly leaned back onto the pillows. I sighed heavily, looking at my pokemon.

“Oh hows the egg doing?” I asked.

“Oh that, Nurse Joy is currently looking over it while you recover. I wouldn’t worry about that.” Princess said.

“Good, I’m glad its in good hands.” I said, I felt really tired all of a sudden. I laid there trying my best to keep my eyes open.

“Will if your tired, rest we can leave and go back out to the main lobby. Nurse joy had set up an area for us to stay in.” Yuna said.

“I honestly would feel a lot better knowing you all were near me. I’d rest easier.” I said. Princess came up to me and planted a kiss onto my forehead.

“If that is what you wish, I will stay.” She said. She laid herself down on my side. I placed my hand onto her and ran my hand through her soft fur.

Yuna did the same on the other side.

“I hope you not forgetting about me.” I heard from the door. Fira was standing in the opening. I patted a spot next to my head. She ran up and hopped up onto my bed lying next to my head. I rolled my face into her soft fur. Her scent filled my nostrils. Just her scent alone, relaxed me. For some reason or other I had a knot in my chest. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

“He looks so cute when he’s sleeping peacefully.” Yuna said looking at Will. Fira lifted her head looking at Will’s expression.

“Yeah, but girls we need to try harder to protect out master. He doesn’t know his own limits.” Fira said.

“I agree, he might be strong but he is after all still a human. He’s not a pokemon.” Princess nodded.

“I don’t know what I would’ve done if anything were to happened to him. I love him so much.” Fira said, trying her best not to get emotional.

“I know Fira, we love him too. Honestly theres going to come a time where we need to pay him back for being so nice to us. He’s not like other humans.” Yuna said.

“I know Yuna, honestly I’ve been wanting to have a conversation with you two about him. If you two have develop feeling for him. I would be willing to share. I mine pokemon do have more than one partner. Or least from what I’ve known from pass experience. I’m sure he would be more than willing to accept all our love.” Fira said. She looked at Princess. “And I know about your little stunt in the bathroom the other night as well.”

Princess blinked, her face going red. “How could’ve you known about that?”

“Well your not exactly quiet Princess. We heard your moans from the bath. He must’ve been doing some really naughty to you.” Fira said smiling.

“I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be, I understand completely. Like I said I’m more willing to share him now, I’ve come to terms that I’m not going to be the only one who will fall for him. He is very likeable and he doesn’t even know how he makes some feel for him. I mean look at him. He’s so handsome, have the right body to boot.” Fira said.

“So are you giving permission to actually do stuff with him?” Yuna said.

“If you want to yes. I won’t stop you. I understand now how you feel towards him. Just remember that I get him first if I ever need him okay.” Fira said.

The other two simply nodded, understanding.

The three laid there heads down and promptly fell asleep. Nurse joy quietly opened the door to come in and collect the bowl. She smiled at the scene of all three pokemon cuddled up to Will. She could see how much they cared for their trainer. She turned and left the room closing the door behind.
