Finding One's True Self: Part 30

Several months had passed for the Kestrel, and it's crew as they continued to carry out their mission of finding suitable worlds for colonization. During these times, Feros had allowed Daniel to go planet side with him so that he could teach him how to set up the portable labs and shelter equipment for the others, so they could study their samples and make their reports. Over time Feros had gotten to know Rubicant, a name Daniel preferred to be called by, pretty well and was amazed at how easily he learned things.

As they got to another planet that sensors indicated as habitable, Feros decided to let him go at it alone while he supervised for the next survey. From space, the Earth-like planet was around one hundred thousand kilometers in size and a gorgeous blue, green color as it orbited around twin stars at the center of the system. Julyna noted that because of its unusual size that it was capable of supporting ten colonies, a rare find in a stellar nursery. Julyna had Raybia scan for a suitable landing zone and had her land the ship because Dr. Mortora had been bugging Julyna for weeks now about letting the crew have some shore leave to relax for a while.

Upon landing safely, Rubicant began working immediately to get things set up for the survey team. He started and finished with the living quarters first, so they could start moving their personal equipment. Once completed he moved on to the lab's section, starting with the lab for flora and fauna. Then on to minerals and metallurgy, and then toxicology for the atmosphere and water in the area. Feros was amazed at how quickly he had finished, a mere four hours. He checked over the work and was happy to report everything was ready. After which Feros give him the rest of the day to relax.

Rubicant hurried back to the ship and into medical because he was worried about something he started noticing that he wasn't doing. As he walked through the door, Mortora greeted him. "Oh hello Rubicant, and how are you today?" she asked.

"Well, I'm not sure, as I think there is something wrong with my body." he said.

She brought the scanner over and began to examine him. "All right and what seems to be the problem?"

"Well, I uh, well I'm not going to the bathroom as I should be," Rubicant said in a slightly perplexed tone.

Mortora stopped her scanning and looked at him. "Well, that's normal isn't it?" she calmly asked.

"Not for my species." He said in earnest.

"Well, it's normal, because that means the implant is working correctly." she explained.

His tone shows his nervousness, "Wait, implant?"

She looked at him confused until it hit her. "Oh my, I forgot to tell you about your sanitation implant." Now it was his turn to looked confused. "The Sanitation Implant or TSI for short is a device that removes all bodily waste. It's another reason why no one bathes, as the implant takes care of both internal, and external waste." She finished. He relaxed and thanked her for setting his mind at ease and started to leave. She stopped him before he could leave. "There is one last thing I need you to do for me." She said handing him a small bottle.

"What are these for?" He asked shaking the bottle and hearing pills rattling around inside.

She looked at him with a more serious look and tone in her voice. "These pills will make your sterile for twenty-four hours, and I need you to take one every day. This way if you want to mate with Julyna and Iris, you won't be able to breed them, as I want no unauthorized breeding on this ship until we know more about your DNA, and know there won't be any stillborns from your coupling. Not to mention we have no care facilities on this ship." she finished.

Rubicant knew the gravity of that situation having talked about that with Altair, even though it felt like a part of him had suddenly been taken from him he understood why it was necessary. She handed him a glass of water and watched him take a pill.

Later in the day, Julyna allowed everyone to have shore leave as she had planned to stay here for a few days to relax. This gave Rubicant some time to look for a nice spot for the three of them to be able to relax and enjoy some much needed alone time together, even though he wished Altair could be here with them.

He managed to get both Julyna's and Iris's physical dimensions and duplicated some swimsuits for them, as well as some other beach gear because the toxicology team had found a fresh water lake nearby that was safe for everyone to swim in. Once he had everything, he would need for an outing he mentally contacted them both and asked if they would join him for some 'relaxation' to which they both agreed, as he went to meet them at the ships exit.

The day was quite beautiful with a greenish-blue sky, mountains off in the distance with snow covered caps with a thick forest at their base, and the smell of wildflowers blooming all around. They walked a few kilometers from the ship when they came to the lake. Rubicant put everything down and was about to set it up when Julyna confronted him about the pills Dr. Mortora had given him. “I heard from the doctor that she had given you medication that prevents you from being able to breed us this morning." she softly said.

Rubicant paused in his work and stood up to look at her. “Yeah, she did. I'm not happy about it, but I do understand her reasoning for it and agree with it," he replied.

Iris overheard them and came over. “Wait, does that mean we can't bare your young?"

Julyna replied to her, “Not for the time being. The ship doesn't have any care facilities, and she's concerned about us giving birth to stillborns until she knows more about how his DNA will react to ours," Julyna finished.

Iris huffed in anger but sadly understood the ramifications. Rubicant pulled the both into a hug, “I want to have a large family with the both of you, but I want to do it without any complications" he said to which they smiled and returned his hug.

After having everything set up on the shore, Rubicant reached into his bag and pulled out two boxes that had the swimsuits in them, and handed the boxes to them. “What is this for?" Iris asked as both she and Julyna opened them and pulled out the contents. Rubicant did his best to find colors that would appeal to them. Both suits were a single piece while Julyna's suit was red, and Iris's suit was purple.

“It's a swimsuit. It's clothing design for swimming in the water so that you don't get your regular clothes wet," he explained.

Julyna gave a light laugh and put it back in the box. “I don't wear anything while I swim, only because it's harder to dry my fur when I get done," she said with a suggestive look.

Rubicant hadn't thought about that being an issue.

“I've never actually learned how to swim," Iris said.

Rubicant stated he would teach her in the shallows of the lake, as he watched both of his mates completely strip down in front of him, causing him to blush slightly, as he also joined them in removing his clothes and then followed them into the water.

It turned out that the water was quite a bit colder than he was expecting, but it didn't seem to faze the females at all. After a few minutes of getting used to the temperature, Rubicant finally joined them in slightly deeper water. He began using the training he remembered from his old swimming class from school with Iris, as Julyna swam around them. He taught her about the over the arm stroke, the breast stroke, the “doggy paddle" and finally how to tread water.

Unfortunately, her butt sank like a stone, and he had to teach her how to kick when she swam to make things easier. So he held out his arms and had her lay across them as she learned how to kick and stroke together in a pattern that worked.

Julyna was swimming underwater when she turned to look at Rubicant and saw he had an erection and wondered why. It wasn't until she surfaced and looked at Rubicant, and saw that he was staring at her naked butt that was literally in his face that she laughed hysterically. They both looked at her as Iris continued to practice which was a good thing because she couldn't see how red his face was. Iris asked her what was so funny, but Julyna waved her off saying it was nothing as she came over.

Julyna then held her arms out to let Rubicant relax a bit, or so he thought until she sent him a mental image encouraging him to bite her butt. His eyes went wide in embarrassment, but now understood what she found so funny. Rubicant's face turned red that it looked like he had a sunburn. He checked on her to make sure she was ok in her swimming, to which Iris said she felt like she was getting the hang of it. He then moved back, as he gently ran his hand down her back, and couldn't believe himself as he leaned in and gently bit her butt. She 'Eep'd' loudly as she fell below the surface of the water. Julyna lost it again as Rubicant started to laugh lightly. Underwater Iris turned to see Daniels erection and understood why Julyna was laughing and why he bit her, not to mention she could hear Julyna laughing at her reaction.

'Well, if they want to play dirty.' She thought as she moved around underwater behind Rubicant while he wasn't looking and bit his butt, causing him to jump and crash into Julyna as they fell under the water. Iris stood up laughing at them in return as they resurfaced, “Not so funny is it?" She said sticking her tongue out at them. Only to get splashed with water by Julyna, to which she returned it.

Rubicant just sat to the side laughing and enjoying the moment. That is until they started splashing him as he now had to defend himself against the two of them. Their playful moment allowed their minds to relax away the stress that had built up over time, and just finally enjoy each others company. After a time, they came together as both Julyna and Iris nuzzled under his chin in a submissive manner, as he took them both in each arm and walked them to the shore.

Once they got on shore, they both stepped a few feet away from Rubicant, and shook their whole bodies, and sent water flying everywhere even as some landed on him. He then tried to shake as they did and only succeeded in making himself dizzy as they caught him from falling over. He thanked them as he went and sat down on the beach towel he had brought with him, and began to rummage around in the large pack he had brought with him. Iris came and sat down next to him as he started pulling things out and sat them off to the side, as he finally managed to pull the food out he had brought which nearly emptied the sack. He passed some of the food to each of them as they sat under the large umbrella for shade as the twin suns blazed overhead.

They enjoyed the cool breeze that was coming from the mountains across the lake in the distance as well as seeing a few large flying creatures. After they had finished, Julyna decided to take a towel and lay out in the Suns for a while, as Iris decided she was going to do something she saw in Rubicant's mind, and build a sand castle. Rubicant began to collect rocks and some wooden sticks for a fire later that evening and into the night. Once he finished, he started setting up the tent he had brought with him, as he wanted to camp out and leave the conveniences of technology behind for a while even though he couldn't completely leave all of it behind.

Once the tent was set up, he went back to sitting under the umbrella and just watching his mates while relaxing. He did his best to keep his thoughts to himself because they were gorgeous to him. Julyna looked like a sunbathing beauty, and Iris was on her knees playing in the sand with her back to him. He watched her as his mind idly drifted as she reached over to shape more sand as her tail raised exposing more than just her round butt to him. 'What about you?' Rubicant asked.

'I'm sure Altair told you that I love watching, besides we'll have our time together later' she finished while giving him a kiss on the cheek.

Rubicant thanked her and got up and quietly came up behind Iris as she was humming a soft tune. She sat back up, as he reached for her shoulders and began to massage them, causing her to moan softly. He then started to gently scratch her back as she arched her back toward him while moaning deeply in pleasure. Once he finished, she turned to look at him and saw his mating-rod standing before her.

She sniffed, as the strong male scent filled her nose. Rubicant was the first to awaken from a short nap that they all took, and saw that the second sun had started setting. Both his mates had wrapped their bodies around him in a comfortable manner that he didn't want to get up, but he needed to get a fire going soon. He gently woke them up as they both kissed and licked him sweetly, while they got up and helped him get a fire going. Ravenous as they were, they still had to wait for the food to cook that Rubicant had brought with them, but once it was finished, they ate well, and slowly watched the last rays of light sink behind the mountain as they cuddled up together next to the fire. It wasn't too long after that they retired into the tent to sleep for the night.

Rubicant woke up sometime later unsure of how long he had been asleep, but what woke him up was the sounds of ambient wildlife outside. It was completely alien to him that he couldn't sleep anymore. He looked towards to tent door and saw that the fire had died down to a light glow. So he carefully got up making sure not to disturb the females and went outside to add more wood to the fire.

Once outside the night sky caught his attention. While it was beautiful with three moons and a nearby nebula, it was also very alien to him. For the first time since coming to this galaxy, he suddenly felt very alone and lost as none of the stars were familiar to him. He looked out across the landscape and saw that everything was unfamiliar to him. Seeing plants that glowed, small flying things that glowed that were nothing like lightning bugs back on earth as he watched their light changed colors. The sounds he heard disturbed him the most, as he had never heard anything like them and it terrified him.

He quickly added a few more pieces of wood to the fire, and as it began to gain strength again, he sat down on one of the towels by the fire and began to think. It wasn't the fact that things were alien to him, it was he who was the alien here. He was the only one of his species to be in this galaxy. He was alone. There were no others like him. Everything else was normal which was why Julyna and Iris didn't wake up to these sounds. It was funny when he thought about it with as bad as he wanted to get away from earth and his abusive family, that he had run so far, and now he was lost. His only familiarity that he had came from his mates, and even then he was still alien to them, and that upset him because he wanted to be Derlenian. He wanted to be what they were, and something like that just wasn't possible. He began to weep quietly by the fire while jumping at some of the night sounds close by that scared him.

He heard the zipper on the tent open up and looked over to see Julyna coming over. She thought to him as she came over and sat down behind him wrapping her arms around him. 'Whats wrong hun?'

'Sorry if I woke you up' he said.

'It's all right I just felt how scared you were, and came out to comfort you.' She thought.

He leaned into her body a bit as she hugged him tightly. 'I'm not sure why this suddenly came over me, or why I feel so alien compared to everything else I've been through.'

'Well, for starters this is your first time off the ship for this long since you've been with us. So everything is new for you. It's not uncommon for anyone to have these feelings, even some Derlenians' she finished.

He cuddled into her more trying to relax, 'I just wish there was some way I could become Derlenian.' he thought.

She paused for a moment as he had never thought or said that openly to them, 'Well, if it is possible, then Dr. Graphra would be the one to know and perform that procedure' she replied.

He looked up at her in surprise, 'Seriously?' he questioned.

'Well, I can't guarantee that he can, but since he is the leading geneticist in the galaxy, he would know more than Dr. Mortora.' She could sense his mood change for the better, but it worried her. 'You know I love you regardless how you look' she told him.

' I love you as well Lyna, it's just this body reminds me of where I came from, and it brings up painful memories I don't want to remember anymore' he said softly to her while kissing one of her handpaws.

It was at this point that Iris came out and sat between his legs and leaned on him as he wrapped his arms around her. 'Whatever you decide to do we'll support you fully, as we just want you to be happy' she said as Julyna agreed and kissed his cheek. After a while, Julyna pulled another towel over them as they laid out next to the fire, and fell asleep in each other's arms under the stars.
