Honor Above All Else chapter 7
#14 of The Great Balancing
Tarn grunted as he thrust his fists at Kitt, whom with a single paw deflected them away; moving too fast for even Tarn to keep up with.
"How the hell did you get so fast?" Tarn blurted out thru his heavy panting breath.
"Practice I guess, I'm not entirely sure how I'm doing it myself." Kitt said his crimson red hair dangling down in his face.
Kitt then suddenly stood up straight from his stance and looked to the sky. "It's time..." he said deathly.
"I'd just be in the way if I said I wanted to come along, wouldn't I?" Tarn asked.
"Yeah, my friend...you would." Kitt answered softly.
"Thought so, I'll take command of the 1st fleet and escort you in."
Kitt nodded and tossed his hair back. "Go and monitor the UNN, I have to go and finish up."
Tarn watched the monitor on his shuttle as he saw the white furred fox omega appear. "Kitt Alistair, it is time to finish this. Our final battle happens on the Hyena home world in the capitol, you will have safe passage there. Be there..."
Kitt showed up on the shuttle, dressed in a black buttoned up trench coat, dark black sunglasses over his eyes and his hair trimmed short, gelled slight to give it the impression of being hard and spiky as well as being back in his blue gray furred form.
"Whoa, Kitt you lost the hair finally." Tarn joked.
"Was getting in the way" Kitt smiled and sat down in the co-pilot's seat. "Let's go..."
The fleet of several thousand Alliance ships spilled out of hyperspace into the barren area around beige savanna world of the Dominion capitol, meeting absolutely no resistance, not a Dominion ship anywhere in sight.
"Sir by our scans there's nobody on the planet" One lupine bridge officer's reported.
"They couldn't have moved everyone so fast." Tarn looked at Kitt.
"They didn't, the Omegas are blocking your sensors. They're waiting for me, once I'm on planet prepare for an ambush." Kitt said.
Tarn nodded. "See you on the other side we'll monitor you from here."
"Definitely" Kitt said calmly walking off the bridge and towards the flight bay.
Kitt landed right in the middle of the Hyena city, much like other cities in the galaxy it was massive, spanning hundreds of kilometers and standing at least a kilometer high. Kitt looked up along the side of a mirror windowed office building sensing his mate inside. Striding right into the building, Kitt's form fitting trench coat flowed gracefully around him. Exiting the elevator on the fifty-fourth floor into a sun lit conference room with a large dark wood table directly in front of the window and the Omegas standing at the head of it all, with the fox sitting in a large wide backed chair, Alec at his side.
"Glad you could join us Kitt." The fox said with an evil smile.
"Wouldn't miss this for the world, hello Alec" Kitt said coldly.
Alec simply nodded.
"Do you think you can put up a better fight than you did two months ago?"
Kitt shrugged. "Maybe, but tell me one thing...why? It seems that this whole war was setup just so you'd get a chance at me. You could have just called."
"You were right Alec he does have a big ego." The fox said. "There's a bigger picture than this petty fight. The Alliance isn't telling you everything, this war was long coming. The Alliance and Dominion are both about to implement inter-dimensional travel, opening up thousands of new financial and militarily possibilities. The Dominion is simply going to get there first."
"So really this has nothing to do with me?" Kitt asked.
"Basically, except for the fact of who you are. You'd have ended up in the middle of it all anyway. This just gets it out of the way now." the fox smiled.
"Ah...well can I at least get your name first?"
"Caster Delawise. And with that, I believe it's time for the end." Caster pressed a button on the table projecting an image of a fleet battle happening above. "As you can see we are already winning and with you and the Lupine Alpha out of the way nothing will stand in our path." As Caster finished his sentence the tiger and German Shepard Omegas leapt the three meter length of the table. Kitt saw it coming and flipped over them landing firmly atop the table then began to duke it out with the pair, Alec and Caster watching with pleasure.
Kitt spun around with his boot, connecting with the Shepard, flinging him off the table then back flipped over the head of the tiger, as soon as his paws touched the wood he pushed back off thrusting his feet at the tiger smashing him on the back, sending him to the floor. Kit's motion ended with him standing on both feet his almost cassock looking trench coat floated back into place.
Caster clapped his paws sarcastically. "Well done Kitt you didn't even transform."
Kitt sneered a bit. "Guess I'm full of surprises."
"Not really, it's quite predictable. You've obviously improved but you're holding back until you've lulled us into a false sense of superiority then bam you power up and destroy us." Caster explained smugly. "And I'll bet you believe you know our limitations as well, just because you fought us that one time.
"Maybe..." Kitt responded "...how about this theory; I'm running at maximum power right now, I just chose not to use it because I don't have to."
"Interesting theory, let's test it..." Kitt was slammed from behind by the tiger, thrusting both of them booming out of the window and plummeting from the fifty-fourth floor towards the street.
Kitt and the tiger exchanged punches on the way down, the building whipping by their heads. At the last second they split apart, landing kneeling on one knee, the force of the impact rippling out the asphalt of the street. Without skipping a beat Kitt launched himself at the big cat, which responded catching Kitt's fist and tossing him towards ground; Kitt planted his paw down and swung his leg out tripping his opponent. The tiger caught his balance mid fall and twisted his body into a corkscrew kicking Kitt, sending him flying at a dumpster. Kitt planted his feet down, skidding a mere inch from the green steel container. Kitt steadied himself raising a single paw to the cat his other held behind his back, smirking cockily.
The tiger growled and rushed up, time seeming to slow down as the tiger threw his fists at the wolf, which dodged left and right ducking out of the way. Time sped up as Kitt shifted to the side, one punch from the tiger casting the dumpster across the street. Kitt countered by leaping up, bringing his knee to the tiger's jaw then with the same leg side kicking him across the chest , the cat careened backwards several meters crashing through a plate glass window.
Everything went silent for a moment Kitt turned to see Caster, Alec and the German Shepard walking out of the officer building. "You are full of surprises let's change the pace, shall we?" Caster said
Doors and windows from both sides of the street burst open as alpha and beta series super soldiers poured out around Kitt. He instantly forced himself at the barrage of soldiers as bullets flew at him. Kitt close lined two of them, then spin kicked another, knocking his gun into the air; Kitt caught it, snapping off several point blank shot into several soldiers. Back flipping into the middle of the street the wolf threw his guns in the face of a solider leaping up and delivering three consecutive kicks to his body sending him crashing through the mob.
Caster and Alec watched from the side lines of the brawl, seeing Kitt knock the lower class fighters every which way. "He hasn't transformed yet, our projections said he shouldn't be able to keep up." Caster exclaimed quite annoyed.
Alec hid back his grin. "I've learned not to underestimate Kitt his drive to win is like no others. Let's see if I can break him." Alec grunted and leapt into the air towards the fight.
Kitt managed to clear a circle around him, giving a slight breather when Alec came crashing down at his head, Kitt reacted by sliding backwards unfortunately back into the crowd. He dodged as fast as he could to avoid the twenty or so simultaneous attacks.
Finally having enough Kitt growled fiercely as a ripple of powerful energy exploded from his body knocking away the majority of the alpha and bet series super soldiers, Alec however being little affected and slid right up muzzle to muzzle with Kitt.
"Still the exact same Kitt as before, so predictable" Alec snarled and struck Kitt on the chest, firing the dark blue gray wolf through the side of a building.
Kitt rolled to a halt in the middle of a clothing department of a shopping mall with Alec in quick pursuit. Locking into tight combat the two wolves duel it out but knowing each other inside and out neither gain an advantage over the other. Both of them locked arms together, their legs pushing and moving jockeying for position to trip the other when their expressions changed from serious blood fight to a simple sparring match.
"I missed you hon." Kitt panted out.
"Missed you too, don't go soft on me now though, still got a show to put on." Alec smirked and spun around back fisting his mate across the muzzle.
Alec's strike put Kitt through a glass display case but barely caused the powerful wolf to flinch as he jumped back at Alec cart wheeling over an attempted sweep kick. Kitt caught Alec's leg and thrust him through a concrete pillar, it shattering like it were Styrofoam. "How do you want to play this Alec?" Kitt asked as the two block and punch at each other.
"Caster is very perceptive and intelligent but he's arrogant, just follow my lead." Alec answered sweeping Kitt's legs out from under him and knocking him right into a concrete wall.
"What's taking so long?" The German Shepard, Tybal asked impatiently.
Caster smiled putting a paw up "Don't worry Alec will finish the job."
Out of the crumbling remains of the mall came the pale white furred, cream leather clad form of Alec dragging Kitt by the collar of his trench coat. "As expected, he wasn't much of a challenge." Alec said dropping Kitt at Caster's feet.
"Then why isn't he dead yet?" Caster asked.
"I thought you would want that honor." Alec responded coldly.
"No, no, I insist you have more against him than I do." the fox replied confidently.
"Why not..." Alec smirked and raised his paw towards Kitt, generating a small white ball of energy at him. "...Good bye....Tybal..." Alec said firing his ball at Kitt whom with lightning reflexes redirected the ball at the Shepard, exploding on contact vaporizing his body. Kitt and Alec vault into the air landing several meters from Caster both wolves in identical open palmed fighting stances.
Caster smirked evilly "Ah the power of love...conquers all boundaries. You know I've never tested my full powers. Guess I get to now."
"Caster, you and I both know you can't take the both of us." Alec growled.
"Just because you've been hanging around for the last two months don't assume you've seen everything." Caster responded.
Alec and Kitt thrust themselves at the white fox, all of them engaging in a fierce melee, Caster easily deflecting all of the punches and kicks from the two wolves.
Caster caught Kitt's leg as he tried to land a kick and flipped him through the second story window of an office building, turning instantly lashing his leg out and swiping across Alec's muzzle, twirling him mid air until he crashed into the concrete.
The massive battleship Hun-son in command of the Alliance fleet in orbit of the Hyena capitol shuddered and creaked as heavy weapons fire rakes across its hull. Tarn steadied his footing shooting orders to the other ships.
"Alpha, shields down to forty-eight percent and detecting another wave of Dominion vessels on approach." One of the officers shouted.
"Sir we have to with-draw, there's too many of them!" Tarn's second in command barked.
Tarn simply shot a glare to the admiral. "Negative, we stand our ground, send out a priority one call for any Alliance ships for backup, but we're not leaving!"
The battleship was rocked again as a torpedo struck it, several bridge consoles explode sending two crew members tumbling to Tarn's feet.
"Sir!" the admiral pled.
Tarn sighed and nodded. "Order all ships for a general retreat..." He closed his eyes trying to locate Kitt. "If you can hear me, we have to pull out, sorry we'll be back."
Kitt stood shakily after being batted across the pavement by the fox when he heard Tarn in his mind. "I hear you Tarn, we'll be alright." Kitt inhaled deeply dashing back at Caster as he hit's Alec square in the chest. Kitt slid right up beside him steadying him.
"The fleet is pulling back, we're on our own." Kitt panted.
"Told you, you had no chance." Caster said.
"We're not dead yet." Kitt snarled in response.
Alec looked at Kitt. "He's right, he's too fast." Alec telepathically said to Kitt.
"We have to keep trying..." Kitt responded "Caster, why are you still playing defensively?!"
"Just biding my time, the long you two are alive the better for me."
"What do you mean?" Alec growled harshly.
Caster's face developed a serious evil grin. "It's simple, the longer you two and Tarn are here, the easier it is for my fleets to make strikes on the Lupine, Vulpine and heart of the Alliance home worlds."
"Kitt, he's not kidding." Alec telepathically said to Kitt but getting only a nod from him. "You have to ascend...it's our only chance."
"I'm already running at my peek. If I ascend I won't be able to control it." Kitt responded to Alec's mind.
"If you don't we've lost."
"Fair enough...I need a couple minutes to build up."
"You got it sweetie..." Alec levitated off the ground and soared like a lightning bolt at Caster swinging his leg out at the fox's head, who easily ducked out of the way.
Looking on Kitt growled deeply, balling up his fists. Digging into his very soul unleashing the energy he'd kept controlled for months. Around him a distortion wave coursed out then burst outwards with a deep yellow fire that cracks the concrete of the side walk and the side of the building beside him.
Caster looked around at Kitt as he powers up. "Ha! I knew you'd have to ascend eventually."
Taking the momentary break in his concentration Alec side swiped Caster on the side of the muzzle, careening him through a brick wall "Kitt hurry!!" Alec shouted before following in through the hole.
Kitt bared his teeth as he pushed harder, the clouds in the sky darkening as they began to swirl around with a hurricane fierce wind Kitt's energy kicking up.
Alec caught Caster's wrist and twisted it trying to get control but the nimble fox flipped his body repositioning himself delivering a series of jabs to Alec's rib cage then tossed him along the tiled floor. The battered wolf ignored the blinding pain and injuries, climbing back to his feet back into his fighting stance.
"Still have some fight left in you I see." Caster said
"I'll keep fighting you until my last breath." Alec panted.
"Give it up Alec, if you think that bitch of a mate can beat me then you'd better wake up! Come with me, Alec we'll rule existence."
"Like hell Caster, you're the one who's gotta wake up, look at Kitt's energy, you haven't been concentrating and it's too late to catch up now." Alec grinned.
The fox gasped as he realized Alec was right and charged at him shoving Alec right back out onto the street, where the sheer force of Kitt powering up shaking and crumbling the foundations of the surrounding buildings.
"Too late Caster" Alec laughed as Kitt let a window shattering howl, a beam of pure white light shoots out of Kitt that extended all the way into space followed by a concussion wave that rips all the buildings in a kilometer circle down to rubble then blasting it away; the light dissipated as Kitt threw his arms to his sides, his golden and red ascended form pulsating, streaks of blue lightning crackle from his body, he stares coldly with his turquoise eyes at the bewildered fox.
All of a sudden Kitt's aura and calamity of his ascension dies leaving a dead silence, an inaudible breeze whipped Kitt's trench coat around. Kitt's now short haircut stands on end and looks like it were made of fire. "Thank you Caster." Kitt said calmly.
"F-fff...for what?" the fox stammered out.
"Teaching me, control is a much better weapon than any energy bolt."
"You're welcome. Too bad you won't get to test it today." Caster quickly reached into his pocket pulling out a small remote control and pressed a button opening a white vortex portal behind him and in a flash the battle between the trio was over as the vortex closes taking Caster with it. Kitt looked up at the sky sensing every Dominion ship in orbit, simultaneously sending a telepathic message to Tarn, telling him to bring the fleet back. Kitt took a deep calming breath stretching his paws to the sky and grunted sending hundreds of golden energy spheres launching up into the heavens.
"On screen" Tarn commanded as the battered Hun-son followed by the remains of the fleet approach the planet, seeing the Dominion ships light up like fire flies as a barrage of Kitt's energy pelted them, annihilating near three quarters of them before they begin to retreat.
"How is this possible sir?" the bridge admiral stammered in disbelief as he witnessed the massive destruction.
"It's Kitt, I think...but I don't know how he's doing it." Tarn responded in an equally amazed voice.
Quicker than it began the Alliance fleet surrounds the planet, retrieving the battered and bruised warriors, Kitt rushed to Tarn after exiting the shuttle. "Listen we have to get to the Capitol right now. The Dominion set us up!"
