#2 of Can I Trust Him?

People under 18 should leave. * * * Just a proper introduction of Anorith's father, Drake, and mother, Nela. With some parts of the story as well. Is He Really Bad? By Floralfur "WHERE IS HE," shout the angered teal dragon as he ran to the dungeons of the enforcer headquarter. "WHERE IS THE SON OF A BITCH THAT HURT MY DAUGHTER," Drake bellowed as he entered the dungeons. Looking from cell to cell to find the one responsible. Other criminals would make rude gestures towards him as he passed by their cells adding more fuel for the already burning dragon. He was close to the heart before finding him. "I finally found you, you bastard," said Drake as he banged on the cell doors of the black dragon. "You'll pay for what you did to her," with malice laced over every word. "I don't know what you're talking about. Why was I arrested? I didn't do anything to anyone. I'm innocent," said the black dragon looking at Drake. "You're innocent, you didn't to anything. My daughter is in the Healer's Cave in critical condition because of what you did, and you have the audacity to say that YOU DID NOTHING," screamed Drake. "You just weren't satisfied killing her friend, Shelk. Oh no, you just had to attack Anorith too, didn't you?" "Shelk? Anorith? I have no idea what you're talking about," he replied with a bewildered tone, "I'm telling the truth. I don't know anything about those two at all," as he approached the bars. "Mark my words once we get all the evidence from my daughter, I'll make sure you hang," Drake said with a threatening finger looking at the dragon. "As soon as she wakes up, she'll tell us everything we need to know and you'll be sorry. As he turned to leave. "I didn't do anything to your daughter. I SAVED HER LIFE," the black dragon barked at Drake. "I'm telling the truth." Drake merely looked over his shoulder, "That's what they all say," as he left the dungeon. "Damn it," he said as he banged on the cell walls before slipping down onto the floor, "I'm innocent" he whispered to himself. Elsewhere, "Will she be alright doctor?" asked the tearful emerald dragon as she looked at her daughter. She was a complete wreck. Bruises and scraps littered her body as well as a cast for her left leg and both wings. "The worst has already passed. Her injuries will take some time to heal but she should be fine for now. She just needs plenty of rest," said the white dragon as he looked over the Anorith's charts. "Thank you, doctor," said Nela without looking at him. She could see him turn to leave out of the corner of her eye but didn't pay him much thought as she moved to her daughter's right and held her hand. "Oh Anorith, why would someone do this to you," she said kissing her daughter's hand. She looked at the archway as she heard someone enter. "How is she?" asked Drake as he entered and took a seat on the opposite side of his mate. "The doctor said she needed rest but should be fine," she replied. "Where'd you run off to anyways?" as she looked at her mate. "To see the bastard who did this," he replied in an upset tone. "I can't wait for the elders to sentence him." he finished "You really shouldn't say such things yet. We don't know if he's the one responsible," as she looked her mate "How can you say that, Nela. Not only is he suspected of being Shelk's murderer but he brought our injured daughter to the healers," he said shocked that she would even say such a thing. "But that's just it, HE brought her here. That's what I'm referring to. If he really was the one responsible for what happened to Anorith, then why bring her here instead of just letting her die?" she started, "Also, if he was responsible for Shelk's death wouldn't he have heard the announcement about the enforcers looking for him so he wouldn't have risked getting caught. It just doesn't make sense, that's all. "Hmmm," Drake said as he digested what Nela suggested. "Well it is a possibility, but we won't know everything that happened until Anorith wake up." In the back of his mind, however, he could shack the feeling that she was right. "I can't stay here, it's too depressing." as he stood to leave." "Where are you going?" asked Nela with concern at Drake's strange attitude. "I'm going back to HQ, I'm still an enforcer and they may need me for something," he said as he left before she could ask more question. Thankfully she didn't follow as he made his way to exit and flew off. It wasn't long before he stood back in front of the cell from before. "What is it now? Have you come to harass me more, because I don't want to hear it if you didn't," said the caged dragon. "Or did you finally come to your senses and came to let me out." "Neither. I came to hear the truth," said Drake trying to steady his voice and stay calm but his balled fist gave him away. He merely looked at the dragon before sighing, "What do you want to know?" "Well for starters, what happened to my daughter," Drake said in a slightly saddened tone. "O.K" he replied as he sat down the bed of the cell. "It was about noon when I left my cave to hunt. I looked around the forest surrounding my cave for something to eat. I spotted a deer not to far off and was about to catch it when I heard something. I hide, not sure of what or who it was, in a nearby bush keeping an eye on the deer but also looking for the source of the noise afraid it might scare the deer away." "That's when I saw her. A beautiful, emerald dragoness emerge from out of nowhere and killed the deer I was hunting. I'm guessing she's your daughter, right?" He asked cutting the story for a response. "She gets her beauty from her mother, scales and all," Drake replied, "But yes, that was probably her. Go on." "Well, anyways, I followed her to the lake close by. She had but the deer down as she went into the water. I wanted so badly to say something to her get her to notice me, so I stole the deer hoping she would follow. Soon enough she found me and called out to me to stop. But when I turned around to look at her she looked like she had seen a ghost or something. Before I could ask her what was wrong, she just ran away and I gave chase. Looking back on it now though, I sort of wish I hadn't." he sad looking down at the ground. "But you still haven't told me how she ended up like she did," said Drake. "I'm getting there just hold on," he said pulling himself back from his thoughts. "I know the terrain around there pretty well and I knew where she was running too, so I tried to stop her. There was a slope up ahead and I tried to warn her but she just kept running. I could see the tree's begin to thicken and knew that if I didn't stop her soon she might get hurt. She opened her wings to try and fly her way out but I guess her eyes where on the sky and not the ground as she tripped over a fallen branch." "I followed her down the slope and found her, barely conscious, at the base of a tree. She wasn't conscious for long though as she just looked at me before passing out. I carried her to the Healer's Cave and told them what happened. They took her into one of the rooms but before I could an enforcer emerged and arrested me. I've been here ever since," he finished with a sigh as he looked at Drake."If I had know this would have happened I would have never took that deer. "Your not in here just for what happened to her. You know that, right?" Drake said with an unsure tone. "You said something killing someone, but what does that have to do with me?" he replied staring at Drake. "Well, we received a tip that a dragon that looked just like you was responsible for her death, so we had announced to be on the look out, so when she saw you, she was afraid that you might kill her and ran." Drake said, "but now, I'm not even sure if you're really responsibly for that either." "You said the dead dragon, her name was Shelk didn't you. I swear I heard that name before but can't put my finger on it. Could you describe her to me?" the black dragon asked. "She was a small dragoness for her age, but very brave and spirited. She was a silver dragon with amber eyes and was the same age as my daughter," he started. At that moment, the black dragon stood as though his bed sent a shock wave through him."I remember now!" he stated looking at the wall of his cell, "Awhile back, there was a forest fire. I saved a dragoness from it and brought her to my cave to get her out of the smoke. From then on, she seemed drawn to me and would drop by my cave every-so-often. But, recently she stopped coming and just shrugged it off. I wasn't really drawn to her and actually found her to be annoying. I didn't now that she had been killed though," as he sat back down. There was a long silence before Drake said, "I guess I should get back to my daughter, but before I go can I ask you your name? I want to tell her that much about you, at least," Drake said with a smile. "My name's Arranco," he said with a slight smile back. "Well it was nice to meet you Arranco. Mine is Drake," as he turned to leave. "My daughter's name is Anorith, i case you were wondering," before he disappeared. "Anorith," he whispered to himself. "I hope you can forgive me." * * *
