Anorith just lay there as she slowly began to open her eyes. She had no idea what had happen or how she ended up here. She could hear noises from somewhere but didn't now where. Her head was throbbing in pain so she couldn't even think straight. She tried to sit up but found the task impossible. She just hurt all over. She turned her head to see her parents asleep against the one another. She wanted to say something but even talking hurt so she decided against it, as she continued to survey her surroundings. She turned her head to the side and her eyes opened wide with shock. There he was, the black dragon that had did this to her, laying against the far wall.

"What's he doing here," she whispered to herself as her eyes where transfixed to him. "Why isn't he locked away?" She continued as tears began to run down her face. She saw him shift around a little and instantly fell silent, afraid she might wake him. She needed to get away somehow, she couldn't stay here with him so close. Why was she even alive? Didn't he try to kill her? Why had her parents allow him to be here? All these thought rushed through her head as she tried desperately to escape.

"Anorith," she heard him say as he continued to sleep.

"How does he know my name? Who is he? I have to get out of here," as she continued her struggle to try and move. "Please, mom, dad, anyone, get me out of here," she pleaded to herself as she looked desperately towards her parents. She could see them begin to move as well giving her some hope that she might be able to get away, if only one of them would wake up. She could see her mother yawn as she slowly began to awaken. She turned her head toward her daughter and was immediately wake when she saw her daughter moving with her eyes opened and tears running down her face.

"Anorith, ANORITH," she cried out as she ran up to her daughter and embraced her. "I.... I was so ... so worried. I thought I'd lost you." she choked out as she cried. Her mother cry had awaken both her father and the black dragon from their slumber as they looked at Nela as she wept over her daughter. "Look Drake, she's.... she's finally awake," as she felt her mate place his paw on her shoulder.

The room was silent, except for Nela's uncontrolled sobs as they all looked at Anorith. Finally, Nela regained some control as she released her daughter who immediately turned to the black dragon in the corner. "What's he doing here? Why is he in jail?" Anorith asked looking at him like trash.

"He saved your life Anorith," said Nela as silent tears continued down. "We thought you would like to thank him."

"Saved me!? He's the one that hurt me in the first place. He's the one that killed Shelk. You told me that the dragon that killed her was a black dragon with a scar on his right arm. He matches the description perfectly, so why isn't he in jail," Anorith shrieked as loud as she could in her injured state. She just looked her parents waiting for a response. "As for you," she said looking at the black dragon, "Who are you and how do you now my name?" He merely looked away with a hurt expression on his face.

"Anorith, we know what we told you but we were wrong, it wasn't him." injected Drake. "The source was unreliable or was mistaken. He's really not a bad guy once you get to know him.

"I don't want to get to know him. Why would I? I mean, just look at what he did to me. How can you even try to defend him?" Anorith replied in an agitated tone. The room fell silent once again. "That's what I thought. Now if you don't mind I'd like to be alone. " Slowly Anorith's parent began to leave.

"I'm sorry, Arranco, I didn't think she'd react this badly," said Drake as they passed by him.

"I understand," he said as they turned to leave. He stopped just short of the door, however, and turned back towards Anorith.

"What the hell do you want," Anorith said not looking at him.

"Listen, I know that your mad and I'm sorry for what happened to you, I didn't mean for you to get hurt," he started.

"Well sorry doesn't cut it; I got seriously injured because of you. So why aren't you in jail anyways? I don't know how you tricked my parents or the enforcers into letting you off," she said finally looking at him.

"I didn't," he said looking away from her glaze. "At first, your father went on a rampage just to find the jail cell I was in but later he came back and asked to hear my side of what happened. They just let me go yesterday and I've spent the time here waiting for you to wake up." he finished turning back to her. She merely looked back at him with a softened gaze. " I could tell you what happened, if you want." He added

"Before that, can you tell my your name?" she asked in a soft tone.

"It's Arranco, and if your still wondering how I know your name it's because your dad told me." He replied. "Now, what would you like me to tell you?

"Well, you can start by telling me why you stole my deer," she asked slightly confused. "No matter anyway I look at it, I can't figure out why you would do that and then chase after me.

"Well... I.... uhhhh." he stuttered as a blush began to form on his face. She could barely see it in his black scales but it was there. "The thing of it is, is that... uhhh ....I took it to get you to notice me," he finally spat out.

"Notice you? Why didn't you just try saying something," she giggled as his blushed worsened. "Or was it because you found me attractive and were too embarrassed and shy to talk to me," laughing at how uncomfortable she was making him feel.

He merely sighed, "Bingo, you got me," now laughing trying to hide his embarrassment.

"So, you stole the deer to get my attention and then chased me off a cliff," she laughed again. "Not exactly the best way to get to know someone."

"I tried to warn you about the cliff but you wouldn't listen," he countered.

"Well under the circumstances, I don't think either of us could be blamed for what happened," she exclaimed. "My father was right, your not so bad. Your even kind of cute," she said with a smile. He blushed at the compliment.

"Thanks," he said scratching his head in embarrassment. "Err.... uhh.... after you've recovered, I was sort of hoping we could...go out for something," he asked. She stopped laughing when she heard this, looking at him. "You don't have to, I was just asking," he added looking away

"I'd love to go."
