Chapter 2: Notes of You

Maybe it's just me but every time I go school I can't wait to get out of it but with the lingering feeling that I'm going to miss it. Leaving my friends, memory and with this being my last year here.

Breeze glided through my fur as I walked towards school with these thoughts in my head. Reaching homeroom I sat right somewhat in the middle closer to a window, class was going to start in about 5 minutes, I was looking around and I wanted to get accustomed to my new classmates but I never really clicked with any of them anyways.

Our teacher, Mr. Rendrof a coyote came and told us we got a new student again. Saying that some of us must have known him by now. I was thinking that Diego didn't really got introduced by all of our class yet but I couldn't believe who it was.

Trevor wearing a red hoodie and jeans strolled right in and introduced himself. He was having a chat with Mr Rendrof and I tuned my ear to try and catch their conversation while looking somewhere else but it was sort of noisy. "Because... mistake I was put up with... but I got mines now."

By now I couldn't help but notice he was glancing over by me and I started to look back at him. He looked around at first as if searching for another place but gave up on it. He headed straight my way and sat next to me, funny Diego was suppose to sit there but he's not the new guy now. Trevor gave me a wary look and I was looking only at his golden eyes.

He was just glancing about and he had his hands to himself, feet tucked in close with his tail and the he looked at me. "Hey... Raze right? Do you know where Diego is?" "Oh, he's not here today I guess." He almost looked disappointed but didn't pressed on and he dug in his bag for something and pulled some papers.

"You forgot this yesterday, here." He handed me some papers and I was looking confused, "Thanks." was the only thing I muttered and without even looking I grabbed his hand by mistake. Both of our face quickly flushed and I acted like it was a mistake, I pushed myself to stop having dirty thoughts and scanned the first page. Oh it's my IT notes I gave Diego, he must have dropped it when he talked to Trevor.

Diego came 2nd period because he missed his bus and his mom had to carry him, when I told him that Trevor was in our homeroom now he seemed happy that someone he knew was going to be with him. "Really? That's great!"

With recess, I came to the table to see what Tim and Sam were arguing about, "Well yeah you could have kept them back if you stayed with me." Sam snapped back. I sighed, it always bothers me because of how they take games so seriously and also no one can break their argument, Diego was interested and also wanted to join them so I left them and sat next to Anna, who is, surprise, texting.

"Hey A, don't want to join your amigos in their conquest to get ladies?" She chuckled with her mouth full, "Doesn't seem entertaining enough and I don't know about you, you never argue with them about the 'ladies'." I shot her a grin and started arching my eye brows, "Oh, might as well entertain a 'lady' then."

"I have always wondered why people bang their heads against brick walls..... then I met you."

I gave out chuckle and asked, "So Ann, what have you been up to lately? People still harassing you?"

"Nah, they all just want to talk about their problems so I just got an idea and started doing this last week. You know, hook them up with people with similar personalities and stuff. So I find them a new person, lover, blah blah and then they leave me alone." She was almost out of breath as she was also texting.

I just chuckled about the thoughts of it, "So you're playing cupid now?" then I started giving off a fake whimper "And what about me? Don't I get my special someone?"

She just smiled and just brushed her hand on my arm, "Aww, big wolf like yourself still don't have a girlfriend? Don't worry, I know you ain't got any problems (If only you knew, I would die.) and if you were really serious, you would have gotten a couple of girls."

"Heh, special someone, I wonder what makes them special." I mumbled as I stared at my charm when I held it up.

She got off her phone and twisted her body around with her back arching and her hands on her thighs. She then talked all her latest gossip which goes on about a mink who could get all the boys she wanted. My mind still on Trevor gives me this gut feeling to just ask her about him. "Hey, do you know any jaguar in our year name Trevor?"

Her eyes now glued to her phone, "You know, curiosity killed the cat." I was just rolling my eyes right at her like not everyone had overused that phrase. "Well sorta, he transferred here last year and I had some classes together with him, he seemed like a loner. Never saw him with anybody actually, some girls kept dropping hints but he ignored them also." Satisfied with my answer I turn my head to see if their heated exchange was worth it only to see them already joking and goofing off.

"Aww don't worry I got this next time." "Yea right, next time your dead bub." They all laughed and then I turned to them now, "So you guys kissed and made up already?" I was blowing some kisses to them while they looked at each other and then smiled at me. "Oh yeah, you got to include us when your talking about guys." Tim pretending as if he was fainting and Sam was giving one of those dreamy sigh's. "Uhh" Damn was I looking flustered, gripping my hands together as it sank below my waist, how can they argue and still eavesdrop on me. They saw that they won this argument and continued with a new topic.

Diego sat up and came next to me ears down and eyes narrowed towards me, he must have heard also. "Hey.. Is it ok that maybe Trever can join?"

I looked at him and saw that he was worried and he probably just wanted to help a friend out. I wanted to squeal out but held it in, "Yeah, anybody is welcome, you wanna go look for him now?" His expression got brighter and his tail started wagging, "Ok."

We went by where we had saw him and he was actually there. He didn't seem like he wanted to talk but we went over anyways.

"Hey Trev! Good to see your in our class." As usual Diego said excitedly.

"Oh, I wasn't expecting you to be here today." He glanced at Diego and then looked over to me as he was talking.

"Don't worry about it, I was just late. Now that we're in the same class, we can talk, joke, even compete, like old time sake." As soon as Diego said that I caught a glimpse of Trevor forming a snarl. Better not remark on it and change the subject. "So you wanna hang out sometime?"

He was taking aback by the question and didn't want to make eye contact and started by shoving his hands in his pockets. "I..I don't know, maybe I'll think about it." With that he left and both me and Diego were puzzled. Diego now with a frown, "He wasn't always like this, even now he would have been glad to be with his friend."

Got to get a cheery atmosphere going, "Don't worry, give him time he might come about."

His expression didn't change though. "Yea, guess your right."

We headed off to our classes and I told him not to worry to much about Trevor and that tomorrow we can go straight to him. I looked at my schedule and I got science now. When I got in class I saw Trevor, he looked even more glum than when he was in the hallway with his tail twitching, I opted not to ask what was bothering him. Mr. Hansen, a badger with a stocky frame, our science teacher scanned the class. "Alright everyone, I got the test results from last week, I will say for the first test I'm not to happy about it."

He called names out to collect their tests and then it came to me, "Mr. Lahar, 73 not bad. Could have been better."

I sat down afterwords and looked over my pityful mistakes, I kept on forgetting to place the units in silly places. Then after everyone got their test papers he gave a speech to everyone that it's only going to get harder and harder from now on.

I looked over on Trevor's desk to see what he had got.. Let's see... Ouch 53, I turned quickly back to my test when Mr. Hansen came over by Trevor and sighed, "I know you got this subject by mistake and for what I hear you can't change it so I suggest that you look for someone in class and get acquainted with to study for this subject." Trevor just nodded and didn't want to look him in the eye.

Realizing this is my chance I quickly looked over and opened my mouth, "I can help him." The badger beamed me a smile, "That's the spirit, Raze can help you." Trevor only just looked up to me with his dreamy golden eyes and watched his test, "I... don't want to be a bother to you" he mumbled.

I couldn't help but wag my tail and smile, "Well I can help you in class, I can point out what can help and in the recess you can ask me about problems you have. My table is somewhat in the right from the entrance by the cafeteria."

He seemed thankful and not so glum anymore and rose to be more lively now, at least he got some life in him. "C'mon let's get to it right away."

"Uh, alright."

We reached the cafeteria right away and we sat somewhat by the edge of the table, everyone couldn't resist and barrage him to death with useless banter. Diego just came and already noticed Trevor and fast walked over. "Uhh, why don't we start tomorrow?" I said as I rubbed my head, "It's best you introduce yourself to everyone and then we can get to it."

Trevor fidgets for quite a bit and sighed and was silent for a moment, "I'm Trev and I'm here to study and that's it." He got up and looked me in the eye, "I'll be here tomorrow." I looked over at everyone and sighed, "Don't worry he will open up when he's ready, he's probably shy." Tim just barked out a laugh. "Oh well, fresh meat keep on coming."

Over the week Trevor studied with me 3 times, he seems to have problems with memorizing formulas and where to apply them. By the 2nd time he caved in and he also started to indulge in our conversation, as he started to warm up to the group his interest were alike to mines, he doesn't do sport which is weird cause he looks fit for someone who doesn't. By the 3rd time he had gotten most of what we rehearsed in class.

After school we decided that we would hang out for a while and headed to our local coffee shop, Cuppie's coffee. Only Anna and Sam weren't there because of personal matters. Diego and Trevor seems to still be catching up, I reminded him that we had a test on Monday and he just nodded. Good and all but Trevor looks like he's in the dumps again.

I turned over to face the spirit bear blowing on his cup while looking over our biology project, "Hey Raze, we can add some more info over the various task and orders the nerves have to do," I grabbed my cup of Mocha and took a sip, "and maybe if you want to, add diseases that can affect them."

"Sounds like a plan" I was actually lost in thoughts when he was talking, it felt so long that we weren't here, the smell of coffie, the sight of other students that hanged around.

Tim was jabbing down some notes and took some gulps of his coffee,"Alright, then after you can review the report and then we can even hand it in before the deadline."

A smile crept on my face, thankfully Tim is in a working mood, usually he slacks off and makes me bust my ass researching. "Sounds good, tomorrow night I can just organize it and finish it." He gave out a hearty smile and elbowed me, "Haha, we can finally put this behind us, I think I'll get to work on it now, see ya."

I just casually wave as he walked out but just then I was jerked to the side of me and was facing Diego, "Now that your done, me and Trev are going to leave, you want a ride?" I saw that Trevor was done getting up, I replied with a quick yes and then we were on our way out.

We all stepped in Trevor's white Corrola, nice looking and affordable however I'm still not interesting in driving. As we were heading home we just had small chat over trivial things and school. Then Diego got out and was welcomed by his mother and we just waved goodbye. Sun was setting as we drove from Diego street, I wanted to break the ice so just wanted to spice it up a little.

"So, how was it like in your school before you came here?"

"Oh, um it was okay, It's just that over there... I didn't like the classes but It's better here."

"Was it hard leaving all the people you knew?" I questioned.

He gulped as he shifted gears, "No.. I mean I didn't really had friends not like you guys," Trevor said as he gripped the steering wheel." oh I know a shortcut we can just cut through my street."

As soon as he pulled a corner to his street I saw a similar female jaguar walking with bags and she was looking quite tired. That's when she noticed the car and waved, Trevor just stopped and asked "Hey mom, need a ride?"

"Oh goodness, good evening." she said as she got in but then she noticed me and smiled. "Oh hello, you must be the wolf he's always talking about, I'm Trina."

Trevor started blushing that his mother had said that, "Mom!"

I started blushing too because I didn't expect his mother to say that either, "Oh? My name is Raze, pleasure to meet you Ms. Clement, you look lovely."

"Oh why thank you, oh Trev are all your friends gentlemen?" Then she looked out and then at him through the rear view mirror, "It's nice to see your making friends than back in Florida."

And then we finally stopped by his house, not so small or big but nice for a family. As she stepped out she gave Trev a peck on his cheek to which he whined (xD) and then she looked over to me "Why don't you come over sometime? Trevor would like the company, as we all would."

I just grinned and looked over to him and he was still blushing of embarrassment and then I said "Sounds like fun, maybe next week."

Trevor just said bye to his mother and that he was off to drop me off, he was looking uneasy with all of what his mother said. I just started giggling, "Oh come on, it happens to us all the time."

He stopped blushing and was smiling and tried to play it off, "I just talked about how I scored high for science and I told them I had help from you. And then I told my parents about how we were going to hang out. And they got all excited."

Then I turned to look at him again, and then I saw my home. "Oh right here." I pointed out. "Thanks Trevor." as I got out by my drive way.

He then shifted his gear and smiled at me, "No prob. See you Monday" That's where I turned and waved and entered my house and peeked out by the window curtain as I saw the light and sound of the car disappear, I just propped myself right by the window sill, getting all giddy as I said to myself softly "So we're friends..."
