#1 of Like Day and Night

I stood in front of the mirror and frowned.

This wasn't something new to me. I smoothed my silk dress down against my fur and sucked my stomach in. Hmm... not too much better. I turned to get a look from the side. I knew I looked thinner from the side. There wasn't much I could do about it now though, Whit and I had picked out this outfit ages ago. Whitney, my best friend, was due to arrive in the next few minutes.

I thought back to the conversation we had had a few weeks back.

"Cee Kay," she looked over at me. "You never wear anything girly, its about damn time we got you something other than jeans and a tee to wear to the club. You wonder why you bitch about guys not liking you, it's because you can't dress sweetie." She grinned, her golden eyes sparkling at me.

I knew she was teasing.

"Fine, I'll let you buy me what you want; I'll be your kitty cat Barbie doll." I knew this wouldn't end well but she had already made up her mind to get the clothes, and now there was no arguing with her.

BANG!! With a small screech I was pulled out of my memory. Whitney burst through my bedroom door, and slammed it shut behind her. She eyed me up and down grinning at her work.

She had picked out for me a tight blue silk dress that barely covered my ass. I have ample boobs and enough of an ass that I was really worried that I would flash the world or that either of "the girls" would fall out the top of the "V" neck dress or even better yet some lucky guy would get a peak at one or both of my ass cheeks.

"You look amazing darlin'," she told me, giving the motion for me to spin around so she could have a good look at me. "Hmmm, there is something missing I think. Go fix your hair and I'll look through your jewelry, and stop sucking in your stomach you look smashing!"

I rolled my eyes and walked into the bathroom, she knew me way too well.

I sprayed some hair stuff into my hair, usually I wore it up in a pony tail but tonight I wore it down. My hair is ebony with blue highlights, and naturally curly, which means naturally a pain in the ass. Its as dark as my fur, but my fur doesn't have the blue highlights. When it's down it hangs to right above my tail. I could have it longer but I hate getting it tangled in my tail. That's an unbelievable mess.

I dabbed some dark eye shadow on to make my eyes stand out, again Whit's idea, on my own my eyes don't need anything to make them stand out. They are huge and almond shaped. But the most amazing thing about them is that they are tri ringed blue. Cats are known for their beautiful my eyes and mine are no different. The furthest ring is the color of the ocean on a summer's day. The second ring is bigger and it is darker, the color of a perfect sapphire, the slit of my eye is a dark electric blue. The colors shift and move where they meet and almost seem to sparkle like the top of water on a sunny day.

I took one last look in the mirror and clenched my teeth against sucking in my stomach and walked out of the bathroom into my room.

"Put these on and we'll be ready to go!" She held out a dangly pair of sapphire earrings that matched my dress and eyes.

(At the club)

The club was beyond loud, so loud that I couldn't think past the music that seemed to slowly seep into my brain. There was a low bass beat beneath it all and it seemed to urge most of the people in the club onto the dance floor. It was a perfect night for dancing.

I love to dance; there is something so seductive about it. It's a like a game of cat and mouse. One partner gives and the other takes.

Whit and I strutted onto the dance floor and together began to dance. Together we make an awesome team. She is a light honey colored fox and I'm a black cat. Sunny blonde hair, midnight hair. Gold eyes, sapphire eyes. And we both know how to work it together. When we dance we know we look good.

I put my back to her front and slowly swayed my hips against hers, she put her hands on my hips and her breasts brushed against my back. I closed my eyes as she ran her hands possessively down my arms. We swayed and danced slowly touching the other with different body parts. Sometimes her hand would brush my breasts other times my hands would slide down her legs. I turned around to face her and ran my hands down her body enjoying the feel of her curves under my fingers. I loved the way her red silk dress felt against her fur. We laughed together as we danced, enjoying the scene we were making.

And slowly but surely we collected a crowd, no one can resist day and night. And that's exactly what we were to each other. But we had done this hundreds of times. Guys love the idea of getting two girls. Too bad they never really got me. All this was for Whit. I love her to death, and almost every time we put on this show she would catch herself a guy for the night.

I always wondered why I never got the guy, maybe it was because I couldn't follow up on the seduction. I can tease, I know that, but I can't put out. I sighed at the way my train of thought was going and gave Whit a last caress before heading to the bar. I adore a good margarita. On the rocks or frozen, both are equally good.

I sat down and flashed a smile at the bartender and told him what I wanted.

I slowly sipped my drink and watched Whitney dance. She had already picked out her guy for the night, another fox by the look of him. With the strobe like lights it was sort of hard to tell. I could tell that he was slim with russet colored fur. He danced close to her, pulling him into his body to shield her from the other men that wanted her attention.

"Um, excuse me miss," I looked over at the man behind the bar and raised an eyebrow at him. "I couldn't help but notice your little show out on the floor tonight."

"Oh well thanks I guess," I said not really knowing what to say to him.

"This isn't the first time you've been here, last time I watched you and your friend I thought I was going to choke from the amount of testosterone that filled the air," he laughed at me and winked.

Slightly confused by where this was going I turned away and tried to ignore him. It wasn't my thing to make friends with the bartender. I wondered to myself why I really came to do this. I mean what was the point of going if you don't get your jollies out of it. I shrugged and sipped my drink letting the music block out my thoughts.

"Miss," I felt his warm breath whisper across my ear and tried not to shudder. "You could have any man you want here, but you sit here at the bar, why?"

"I really don't think that is any of your business," I said turning to him. The bartender had come from behind the counter to sit by me. I tried to scoot away from him.

"Well I just wondered, you always sit here looking so lonely. And no one ever comes up to you to say anything, doesn't that bother you?" he asked

I sighed and gave him my full attention. It was better to scare him off now than have to do it later. "No one wants the night when they can have the day." I hopped he would chew on that for a little while and leave me alone.

I felt more than saw him scoot closer to me, "I love the night."

I looked at him fully and gave a soft hiss, "You are more than bothering me, now go away." My eyes dilated and I could feel my claws softly unsheathe. Man this was pissing me off.

He laughed a throaty chuckle, "You're a little hell cat," he told me as he got up to go behind the bar again.

I looked away from him and thankfully Whit give me the signal that it was time to go. I hoped this new guy she had picked up kept her happy for the night.

The next night Whit begged me to go back to the same bar with her. There had been too many "adorable" guys there for her. And she wanted to go back. I couldn't argue with her so that night I found myself back in the same club doing the same thing. Usually we rotated clubs because Whitney liked a variety of men in her life.

After our usual dance I sat back down at the bar. I loved dancing with her but I knew that I would slowly be replaced by one of the men that had circled to watch her dance. I didn't bother looking to see if the same bartender was there. I didn't need to drink to get through tonight. I watched all the dancers out on the floor; it was fascinating to me how strangers could dance so closely.

"Hello Hell Cat," the voice from the night before said from behind me. "You're here again; you're friend not like the fur she got last night?"

I heaved a sigh and turned to give him a good "go to hell look" what was with this guy?

"Again I have to tell you that it is really none of your business, I don't know why you think that you can ask me questions a second night in a row. I thought you got it last night. I really don't want to talk to you." I told him.

"I really beg to differ, this the second night in a row that you have sat down at my bar. I would say that you're just suppressing your interest in me by trying to ignore me."

"Arg! Just.. just.. leave me alone!" I stuttered wishing that I could melt into the floor. I couldn't help but silently fume at his silly ideas.

"Oh so you like girls? And I shouldn't even try? Is that why you stare at your friend so much?"

I bit my lip trying to keep my temper in check. "Look!! I thought that you got the hint to leave me alone!" I growled at him. "And I don't want her!" I said indignantly, I knew I sounded silly, like I was arguing too much.

He laughed at me. A huge great belly laugh, he was laughing so hard he was shaking. What was so funny? He just couldn't stop, every time he looked up at me he would burst into more peals of laughter. I didn't know whether to be incredibly mad or just join in. And before I knew it I was laughing just as hard. And I couldn't even tell the reason why.

He slowly got himself under control, and grinned huge pearly white canines at me. "I hoped that I could make you laugh little Hell Cat."

I smiled back at him, the awkwardness that I had felt before had shattered somewhere between the laughter and the giggles. I couldn't help but smile now.

"Maybe after I get off you would like to meet me around the block for coffee? I get off at one the coffee shop around the corner stays open late." He beamed at me.

Before I knew what I was saying I had told him yes. Was I sick? And then Whit was at my elbow with her guy for the night ready to go home. I looked back over at the man behind the bar and he mouthed "See you at one."
