Chapter 5: Live Bait

Later that night, the moonlight filtered in through all the windows through the house causing him to experience cabin fever like symptoms. What was worse his body ached as fur started to grow on his arms and he stared at it in horror. "No...it's getting worse..." he muttered looking at his claws. He wrapped himself up in a blanket hearing his two younger siblings running about the house.

"Hey! Go play outside!" His mother shouted.

There was a set of heavy footsteps approaching his room and his eyes widened looking over at his door. "Toby, are you in there!? Hurry up and get changed, we're hunting!" he said in a monstrous voice.

"Go away! I'm not changing!" Toby shouted.

His father barged in and threw a grey fur cloak and wolf mask at him. His father was already dressed with it, and he glared at him with his mask up. His face resembled that of the wolfman, and he was very angry with him baring his teeth and growling. "You have no choice! Get out of bed or I'm dragging you out! You are old enough to catch your own food! You will contribute to this pack"

"But I'm not hungry" He lied as his belly protested.

His father grew more impatient with him and grabbed his mattress with one hand and yanked it off the bed with Toby on it. Toby fell to the floor dazed, and his father pinned him down. His razor sharp claws pressed against Toby's neck dangerously close to vital arteries. "I'm giving you one more chance to comply!" he growled.

"Okay, okay! I'll do it! Jez" Toby relented.

His father grabbed the blanket and jerked it off, and he shook his head at him. "Your fur is going in huh? I'll have to admit. I've never thought someone could hide it for six months. I guess you have as strong a will as your old man, eh?" he said trying to hide his pride. He sighed heavily and put his mask on. "Come on, everyone is hungry!" he said urgently.

Toby sighed and struggled to put his shoes with the added difficulty with the modest swelling in his feet. He draped his cloak over his shoulders before he put his mask on and walked with him. He could hear his father's heavy foot pads and claws track over the hardwood floors downstairs followed by another lighter set approaching them. "Trying to go out without giving your dear wife a smooch?" his mother asked playfully.

His father stopped immediately as the short but very beautiful fair skinned shewolf grabbed him by the collar and pulled him down. When she lifted up his mask, she gave him a very endearing smooch, and he murred softly. "You take good care of him, okay?" she said resting her hands on his shoulders. She looked up at Toby and grinned. "And you better not give your father any problems. You got that?" she warned him.

Toby nodded before his mother jumped and clutched her gravid belly in pain. "Oh, ow!" she groaned, which his father looked at her alarmed before she looked up at the both of them happily. "I'm fine...the baby won't be due for another two weeks. Just catch us dinner" she said reassuringly.

"Alright" His father said before he opened the door.

Out in the front yard were a six year old boy an eight year old girl chasing after wolves. They stopped and looked over at their father and brother leaving while their mother stood on the doorstep to see them off. You could only see their glowing yellow eyes when the moonlight caught them from the right angle, but the rest of them were pretty much human asides from sharper than usual teeth.

They ran up to them, and the little boy grabbed at Toby's cape giving it a tug. He caught a glimpse of Toby's arm and his eyes lit up with intrigue. "Whoa! Toby's gone fully wooly" he shouted.

"I am not!" Toby shouted yanking his cloak from him.

Their father laughed and ruffled the little boy's head. "I want you and Phoebe to keep an eye out on your mother. She's very close to going into labor" he said.

Phoebe grew excited and squealed. "Is she really?" she shouted. Her little brother was not sure what was going on, but before he could ask any questions a chorus of growling bellies filled the silence.

"Stop bugging them and let them hunt. Your baby brother is hungry" Their mother hollered at them.

"Let's go Toby!" Their father said as he ran off into the thick forest. Toby looked back hesitantly, but his mother smirked at him waving him off. He jogged into the darkness, and he glanced around avoiding obstacles that a human could not see. He felt powerful and best equipped to kill something as he slowly became intoxicated with his supernatural powers budding. His discovery of his true nature was interrupted, when he bumped into his father who appeared to be sniffing the area.

"What is it dad?"

His father reached down grabbing pine needles off the ground then stood up with his arm out sprinkling it into the wind. "I've gauging our distance and direction from our prey. You understand vectors don't you?" his father explained. Toby nodded slowly before his father started growing like the hulk and turning into a massive beast. "They are close! I want you to lure them towards me" he said before he lost the ability to speak completely, which he pointed in the direction their prey was with his thick swollen padded finger.

Toby nodded and took off running indirectly towards deer in an attempt to flank them. He overtook them and came back around. He did not know what happened, but when they started running, a switch was flipped, and he chased after them. The thrill of the hunt coursed through his veins, and he ran them into his father's ambush. He timed his pounce and managed to grab one by the neck and another by its hind foot. The one lagging behind changed direction, which Toby tackled it growling as he blacked out.

When he came back, his hands and face were covered with blood, and in his mouth were the organs of the steaming deer carcass. He jumped back on his rear staring at the massacre, and he spat out the raw meat. "What the hell just happened me?"

His beastly father ripped off another hind leg of the deer and watched him carefully. He knew Toby was distressed, so he tried to speak only to come out a garbled mess as his large wolf muzzle and lack of lips limited his speech. "Yeh ga hunry" He managed to say before he nudged the carcass towards him encouraging him to feed.

Toby was too horrified at what he has done as he was doing what he saw in the nature film he saw earlier today. He kicked back the carcass much to his father's chagrin, but he stripped another piece of meat off the leg like it was a chicken drumstick, while he watched his son very concerned.

They were soon joined by two other cloaked figures. "Holy Shit! They caught three already!" shouted monstrous female voice.

Toby snapped out of his nervous breakdown, and he looked towards the shorter of the figures. "Zoe? What are you doing here?" he asked.

"We're hunting stupid! You took my prey I was stalking!" Zoe shouted as she crossed her arms over her chest. Her father laughed at her, and Toby stared off into the distance. "Hey, are you going to finish that?" she asked before she pointed at the carcass.

"No...knock yourself out!" He said getting up onto his feet. He looked at his hands once more in disgust, and Bernie was no longer laughing.

"Sweet! I'm starving!" She shouted before she took a few steps towards it reaching a hand out for an organ before his father grew annoyed and growled at her ferociously. She snapped her hand back and yelped nearly getting bit. "Okay, okay! I'm sorry. Gez!"

"What's wrong, Toby? Aren't you going to feed?" Her father asked.

Toby looked away ashamed and shook his head. "Nuh, I prefer mine cooked"

"Really? A werewolf that don't like raw meat? You have to be pulling my leg!" Her father said before he turned towards Toby's father. "Hey Steele, I think there might be something wrong with your boy" he said.

Toby's father reverted back and sighed heavily. "His grandmother has something to do with this. She wants him to be civilized human. He's been holding back his instincts for so long that he went completely feral for fifteen minutes"

Toby gasped looking back at them shocked. "You mean I did all this!?" he shouted. He was still trying to dismiss himself as being capable of being a mindless killer.

"Oh shit! That's not good" Bernie said as he lifted is mask. He squatted down and removed an organ and consumed it. "You know pup! You really shouldn't keep your wolf caged up all the time. The more you keep him in there, the more he wants to escape. It's not a coincidence that all werewolves transform on the full moons. It's the perfect time to hunt! We cannot deny our instincts to do what we are designed to do" he spoke firmly to him.

Zoe jumped onto Toby and brought him down to the ground giggling. "You're not a human silly! Quit trying to act like one and just eat" she told him before she wrapped her arms around him and nuzzled him. She found his neck and started biting it as she growled into his ear. "Do you need me to show you how to act like a wolf again?" she asked before she reached down petting and giving his groin a grope.

"Zoe...get off of him!" Her father scolded her before he looked around. "And where the hell is your brother!?"

Zoe huffed and looked over at him annoyed. "He's probably banging his girlfriend again" she grumbled.

"For his sake, I hope he doesn't plan on having pups because I'm gunna have him neutered!" He shouted.

Meanwhile at Sasha's home after everyone finished their meal and went to bed, Sasha got up out of bed and saw the moon light filtering through her window. She gulped and grabbed her jacket off her chair. Makita looked up from her bed and whimpered nervously. She reached over smiling brightly while giving her beloved pup a pat on the head. "It's going to be okay" she said lightly.

Todd waited outside her bedroom with his arms crossed over his chest ready to confront her. "You're really going to be going out? On a full moon? What if you get attacked?"

Sasha paused before she looked back up at him with an optimistic smile. "It'll be okay...they will protect me. They know what I'm about to do"

"They are going to eat you stupid!" Todd protested.

"Give me an hour...if I don't come back, you tell grandma and grandpa" She said before she started to walk down the steps lightly trying to not to make any more noise.

Todd grabbed her sleeve and refused to let go. "I'm going with you!" he said quickly.

"Okay fine!" She said giving up. She heard her dog's scared whimper as if telling them not to go outside. "We're late..." She said before she rushed downstairs. She slid open the heavy glass sliding door, which the pine needles in the track made it difficult to open. It was freezing outside, and steam rose up from the marsh and blanketed the forest with a thick fog. The moon light made the forest floor and fog give off an ominous bluish glow. Everything was quiet asides from the periodic hooting from spotted owls and barred owls scattered throughout the forest.

They stepped outside, and Sasha shivered stuffing her hands into the pockets of her hoodie while they walked towards the street. They both could see their breaths in the air, and she stopped hearing a noise. Sasha looked around and gulped, and Todd bumped into her. "Why'd you stop?"

A gust of wind hit them, and Sasha shivered rubbing her arms feeling her pulse begin to accelerate. "It's quiet...really quiet...too quiet" she muttered continuing to walk down to the road. She looked around expecting to find glowing eyes watching them, but for some reason, the lack thereof made her more uneasy.

Back at Toby's house, Steele and Toby had brought back their kill, and Bernie sat on the deck relaxing with his daughter looking out at the mountain. The fog bank was starting to materialize over the tree canopy in the valleys and obscure the lake below, and the wind shifted and started to pick up as well blowing cold dry air from the north east instead of from the north were the tall stratovolcano shielded them from. They observed the lenticular cloud over the summit shift and change shape, now looking like an alien spaceship flying overhead.

"Weird...what's going on with that cloud dad?" She asked.

"The winds are changing...maybe we'll have some better luck tonight" He told his daughter. They watched Toby and Steele walk up the flight of steps onto the deck before they headed into the house. Steele came back out holding three cans. "Hey, Lager coming!" Steele shouted before chucked a beer at Bernie.

Bernie caught the can and ripped it open. "So, you plan on teaching your boy how to clean a deer? You caught three of them in what? Thirty minutes?" he asked before taking a swig.

Steele handed Zoe a Mountain dew before he leaned up against the house cracking open his can. "Five minutes actually. It took me longer to get Toby changed than it took to catch them" he corrected him before he took a chug.

"Naw! You're kidding! Only five!? It has to be fluke. Zoe and I have been hunting to two hours now, and we haven't caught a whiff of any on our hunting grounds! We have to come clear out here to find any, and you have a butt load over here" Berne shouted.

"I don't think it was a fluke, but it shouldn't have taken us that short of time either" Steele muttered.

Bernie knocked back another gulp before he wiped his face. "You aren't just being a little modest are you? You're boy is talented...come on! Admit it!" he said reaching over and giving him a playful shove.

"Think about it though. You're having a hard time, and I've been having easy pickings. Something is shifting them over towards my end, and it isn't the wind either" Steele mentioned.

"What would cause them to do that? You don't think there are too many werewolves here do you?" Bernie asked.

"I don't think so...from what I've heard is the deer population is quite healthy. We aren't overhunting or else I'd be having trouble too. I'll have to look into it some more" he said before his wife opened up the door and took a couple steps outside.

"Honey? Did everything go alright? Toby has locked himself in the bathroom again" she asked him concerned.

The three of them looked back at her, and Steele sighed heavily. "Actually everything went really well, only Toby's freaking out about going feral for fifteen minutes" he said.

"Oh my god! He went feral? Is that bad?" she asked.

"I warned you this would happen, but yea, he pretty much started acting like a thrall. He has to stop doing this or it's going to happen more often" he told her. Zoe and Bernie both nodded before Terry finally appeared out in the clearing with his cloak on.

It took him a moment to catch his breath; however he was not able to after thirty second, which Bernie and Steele could tell that it was not from exhaustion. He was having a full blown panic attack. Steele sat his beer aside, and Bernie jumped off the deck. "Hey, what's going on!? What's wrong!?" he shouted.

Terry was on his knees digging his claws into the soil. "It's Penny...she's...missing..."

Bernie grew annoyed that his suspicions were correct, and he growled lowly. "What were you doing at her house?"

"Dad! Her parents called me! They said something happened to her a month ago, and they asked me some questions... and I..." Terry said before Steele crossed his arms over his chest.

"You told them didn't you?"

"I don't know what else to say? How can explain any of that shit? I thought I was being careful with her. I don't even bite her...I did everything right, and she still ended up..." He sniveled before Toby came out of the house cleaned up.

Toby stared at them in confusion before Zoe stood up. "Toby! You need to tell them about the Dark Crew!" she shouted.

His mother crossed her arms over her chest with contempt. "What are they doing now?"

Toby pursed his lips and blew out some hot air. "They are going to have Sasha meet them on the Glade tonight, to haze her" he said before he looked over at Zoe. "Why? What's going on?" he muttered.

"Fucking fantastic! Just what we need!" Bernie shouted before he finished his beer and crunched up the can. He looked towards his daughter and threw the scrunched up can aside in disgust. "Let's go!" he shouted before he took off.

"Wait a sec! What's going on!?" Toby raised his voice in a panic as he rushed out onto the middle of the deck.

"Fucking go!" Zoe shouted giving him a shove in the back before she ran ahead of him.

Terry got up and flipped his mask on. "There's a thrall loose in town!" he said.

Steele looked back at him and sighed. "Lilian! Call her Grandparents. We'll go find Sasha!" He shouted before they took off into the night. Lilian immediately rushed back inside while shoving her two youngest into the house.

Meanwhile Sasha and Todd wondered onto the trail using the flashlight app on her cellphone to illuminate the path. They could hear talking and laughing ahead, which they both naturally walked towards it. It was in a shaded patch just off the trail, and it sounded like a couple of teenagers had joined in on the fun. "Well, looks like she chickened out" Meghan said.

"Wait!" Sasha called out shining the light onto them.

They shielded their eyes and tried to block the light out. "Oh my! She did show up" Meghan said.

"Well of course I'd show up!" Sasha huffed.

Meghan looked over at Todd and grew annoyed. "Why's he here? He's going to snitch on us"

"It's okay, he's cool..." Sasha said reassuringly.

"Fine, whatever" Meghan said in a huff.

The two twin teenage boys stared at her chest and their jaws dropped. "Hey Ken, look at those double Ds" One of the teenagers said pointing at Sasha. She glared at him covering up her chest with her arms and pressing them in to conceal them.

"Hey Levi, isn't she that ghost hunter girl from youtube?" Ken asked.

"Oh my god, you're right! I can't believe she's a freshman" Levi said salivating over her before he grinned evilly. "Do you have your camera?" he asked looking towards Meghan.

"Got it right here" she said pulling out the ultra high definition camcorder from her backpack. She turned it on and started filming everyone.

"Well, we'll draw straws to see who will be the bait" Meghan's brother said.

"B-bait? We aren't going out to look for one?" Sasha asked.

"Screw that! Have you seen how big this forest is? They'll find us faster than we can find them!" Ken said.

Levi pulled out straws from his pocket. "The one with the short straw is the one who has to stand out in the meadow" he said before he made Sasha pick. She unsurprisingly grabbed the short one, and he laughed at her. "Well, looks like we have a winner" he said.

Sasha was very upset with herself going first, but then something Toby said earlier popped back up in her head. She snatched all the straws from his hand revealing that they were all cut in half, and the other half were still in his hand. "Oh yea? Looks like everyone is a winner with you, huh?" she scolded him, which Meghan snickered to herself.

"Exposed" She teased pointing the camera on him and zooming in on his face.

Sasha sighed thinking to herself how she could spin this all in her favor. "It's fine...no really. You know what? I'm not afraid of them...but you all are!" she said before she looked back at them smugly. Of course she was afraid, but she knew how to act, and she walked out into the clearing confidently.

Things took a turn for the worst when she was grabbed from behind by the two boys and forced her up against the tree. They wrapped her arms back around the tree and zip-tied her wrists. Levi stroked her cheek smiling evilly. "Scream for me...they won't come if you're quiet" he said before he looked down towards her breasts. His hand trailed down before Sasha kneed him in the crotch.

"If you try that again, my boyfriend will fuck you up!" She shouted as Todd ran up to try to stop them. Ken snatched up Todd and covered his mouth dragging him off.

"Quiet you! You're going to ruin everything!"

Levi was down on the ground wallowing in pain. Meghan and her friends were partially horrified but impressed with Sasha's guts. "You dumb bitch! I was only acting!" he shouted

"You weren't acting! You were trying to cup a feel!" Sasha shouted back.

"You're crazy! I do this all the time!" Levi shouted before he glanced over at his crew. "I never touched you did I?" he shouted while he struggled to stand up.

"What the hell are you tying me up for!? Wolves prefer to chase things not go after something tied down! No wonder why you couldn't catch a damn werewolf! You are so incompetent!" She chastised them.

"Tch, there are no werewolves here stupid! Don't you get it? We're here to expose the fraud you really are. Now I want you to tell our audience here that there are no such things as werewolves! Then maybe we'll cut you free!" Ken shouted.

Out of the corner of their eye came the very same creature from the month before, which Levi looked over hearing the growling and bolted leaving her behind. Sasha stayed quiet annoyed that the perverted teen left her to die. Levi ran with a limp screaming. "Run! It's a werewolf!"

"Yea right! It's just TJ in a rubber costume again" Meghan said.

"Did he buy a better costume? This one looks realistic" her brother asked.

The werewolf ran past Sasha and went to attack the limping teen as if seeing him as the weakest of the herd. The creature tackled him to the ground and quickly clamps down on the boy's neck. Sasha watched in horror as the boy shouted out a loud gurgle before going limp. Sasha was even more upset to see the kids running away screaming, and she shouted, "Hey! Zoe! Over here! Leave them alone!"

The werewolf glanced back over and turned towards her; whoever, the it got out in the moonlight, Sasha could see that it was a she due to her five rows of small breast mounds from chest to just under her navel. "Y-y-you're not Zoe" she muttered as the werewolf continued to draw near.

Todd doubled back and ran towards his sister after breaking free from Ken's grip. "Toby! Somebody! Help us!" he shouted being the only one brave enough to save his sister.

"Get back, kid!" a monstrous voice shouted.

A large humanoid figure in a cloak blew past him and hockey checked the creature sending it flying head over heels and letting out a loud yelp. Sasha stared at the figure and then realized that there were two others who surrounded them. One arrived and stood by supervising them, and she felt some one cut her free from the tree.

Another cloaked figure was checking the boy. "Shit! He's alive" he said disappointed, which it was obvious that they all were not human from their voices

The one supervising growled at his subordinate. "Does that upset you?" he asked in a thick German accent. He glanced over at the werewolf starting to stand back up, and the large figure got behind the creature and put her into a sleeper hold.

She looked back at the tall figure behind her, and she rubbed her wrist sorely. "Thanks" she said before she started shivering. She backed up to the figure feeling safer beside him than closer to the creature. "You like some sort of super powered humans or..." she asked. The figure looked down at her, but shook his head. "Then what are you? Normal people can't send a werewolf flying head over heels like that" she said before she could smell a familiar scent. It was no surprise that she huddled up to him then pressed up against him as if prompting him.

Finally he put a hand over her shoulder and onto her arm rubbing it softly. Something felt different about him, but others felt familiar. She smiled and turned into his chest reaching up to touch him, but she felt fur. Not from his cloak, but his chest was covered in it. She clutched onto it and closed her eyes listening to his heart withdrawing into the safety of his custody. "Thank you, Toby" she said lowly.

"Heh, Real smooth dog" the female said with her arms crossed over her chest.

"Zoe! Go get Haley!" Steele said before he looked towards Toby and Sasha. "Heh, she has to be real close to you for her to recognize you in your costume" he said with a hint of pride.

"Dad...there's nothing going on between us. We're just really good friends" Toby shouted. His voice was the only one that did not change, except his voice was a little scratchy and hoarse like it was trying to change.

"You're a lousy liar Toby. We know that you like each other...we can all smell it" she said pointed towards her nose before she rushed off into the fog. "Oh hey Marty! Bye Marty!" she shouted.

"What are you going!? Where are they!?" He shouted.

"Grandpa! Over here!" Todd shouted.

A bright flashlight was shining at them from up on the trail. "What the hell is going on here, Steele!?" Sasha's grandfather shouted wielding a shotgun at his hip. Makita was beside him growling lowly, but she whimpered noticing Sasha cozied up to Toby sensing what the other wolves were.

Steele glanced over at the man and held up a thumb up. "We have the situation under control"

"Grandpa! Those kids tied her to a tree!" Todd shouted.

Sasha grandfather walked up to the boy while the figure attending to him applied pressure to his carotid arteries. Steam rose up from the blood trickling down the puncture wounds. "He's not going to make it" he told Steele.

Steele surveyed the blood on the ground and snorted. "He'll live" he said before he crouched down. "You're holding his neck wrong. You're blocking the trachea" he said as he repositioned his subordinate's hands. "Relax your grip. You're going to give him a stroke if you block all the blood"

"I don't know how to do this!"

"Terry, calm down. You're doing fine" Steele said before he looked over at the other checking on the lifeless body. "Bernie, do you have Penny secured?"

"I have her sedated already...I'll deal with her" he said before he lifted his mask glaring at his son. "We'll talk about this later!" he shouted before he transformed into a huge wolf more massive and advanced than Penny similar to Steele's therian form from earlier. Sasha gawked at Bernie's transformation and watched him carry off Penny.

"Oh my gosh! You really do have more than one form!" She shouted looking back up at Toby.

Marty looked towards Sasha still huddled up against Toby, and he sighed. "Toby! Follow me!"

Toby looked towards his father who waved him off casually. He then turned and walked towards Marty who was walking back home with his grandson. Sasha remained on autopilot walking beside her knight in furry armor. "You're so warm..." she said while she slid her hand up his shirt pressing them up against his hairy abdomen.

Toby was caught off guard, and he against lost control over himself; although, he rubbed her shoulder in return murring softly. Since he saw her approval, he did not fight back his instinct, and he allowed her to continue what she was doing with him; however, another urge was flooding his mind. He was too embarrassed to whisper it into her ear, so he held back the thought.

Todd turned around and looked at her, which he saw the way she was distant from the outside world and absorbed into his body. The thought of her gratuitous exploration of this werewolf's body made the boy sick unaware of his sister's discovery of her sexuality towards the opposite gender.

By the time they arrived at the house, Aoife was out on the porch waiting for them. "Oh? Is that Toby? My, you've really grown during the summer" she remarked. Sasha immediately pulled her hand from under Toby's shirt, but not fast enough for her grandmother to see. She said nothing and watched the two walk up the steps of the patio.

"Come inside. Sit down on the couch" Marty said as he stowed his shotgun away inside of the closet. He looked at Todd and gave a stern look as he was placing unused shotgun rounds into a plastic container. "Go to bed!"

Todd huffed nodded slowly and followed Makita up the steps, but he stopped watching his sister sit on the couch with Toby as if bewitched by his supernatural aura. His dog whimpered wishing for him to leave the danger in their living room, but he was determined to hear what his grandparents had to say when they sat in chairs across from his sister. "Take off your mask! I want to look you in the eyes when I'm talking to you!" his grandfather said.

Toby sighed heavily and removed his mask unveiling his pointed ears, blackened nose, and yellow eyes. Aoife covered her mouth trying to suppress a giggle fit, and she waved herself off before placing her hand over her heart. "Oh my...you've definitely been through some changes during the summer. You're turning into quite the attractive wolfman" she complimented.

Sasha looked up at him stunned, but she had to agree with her grandmother. She reached up to touch his sideburns that advanced to his jaw line. She smiled up at him while she felt up his ears rubbing the tips between her fingers. Her grandparents were watching them intensely as if they were judging if it were feasible for him to be in a romantic relationship with their granddaughter.

"What happened out there?" Her grandfather asked.

Sasha snapped out of her trance and looked back up at him ashamed. "I was being stupid. Toby told me not to go out tonight, but...I just wanted to prove to those kids that I wasn't a liar! If it weren't for him, Todd and I would be wolf chow!" she explained. She retreated back into him and started tracing the contours of his muscles through his shirt.

Toby's eyes were glazed over as her actions resulted in him being so relaxed that he nearly fell asleep. He was very embarrassed that he gave in, but it felt so good. He went limp and closed his eyes all while Sasha petted him. "Are you asleep?"

"MmmMmm" He managed to say.

"Are you hungry Toby? We have some meatloaf left over" Sasha's grandmother chimed in.

"Mmmm"

"Was that a yes or no?" Sasha asked pressing into his side.

Her grandmother was already up out of the couch giggling. "He's a werewolf dear...they never say no to a good home cooked meal" she said.

Her grandfather glanced up at her and scowled at her. "Why are you giving him tomorrow's dinner?" he groaned while following her into the kitchen.

"Oh please! He saved our grandkids after all. The least I can do is reward him for his troubles" she said as she moved the bread sized loaf into the microwave.

"Tch, I'm sorry, but I thought Sasha was the reward?"

"What is this the old times? Arranged marriages are frowned upon this day and age mister"

"That's not what I meant. What I was saying was, isn't giving him the right to date our granddaughter enough of a reward?"

"What would you have stopped her from dating if this particular situation didn't happen?"

"Well, it is good meatloaf" he said trying to change the subject.

"You do realize I can hear you right!?" Toby shouted from the other side of the house.

"What are they talking about?" Sasha asked as she looked up into his eyes. He looked down at her nervously and blushed. She started scratching behind his ear saying, "Wow, I can't believe I have a real live werewolf in my living room"

He brushed her hand away lightly and gulped. "You do know that I'm not a dog right?"

"Yea, but you aren't human either...besides, you like it. I can tell" Sasha stated before she pulled out her phone to show him her research notes from the journal. "See? I read up on you guys!" she said proudly.

Toby snatched the phone and started skimming through it. "Holy...just how much of this stuff did you read?" he muttered.

"Eh, not much...I skimmed through only the last pages. The rest did not seem really interesting. It has nothing to do around here" She said.

He glanced at her annoyed. "You have no idea what this is do you? This stuff talks about your grandpa's days working for the Supernatural Affairs Ministry!" he whispered to her.

Sasha's jaw dropped. "Say what now? That can't be right. My grandpa works for a Supernatural Organization?" she asked. He stared at her with a patient and straight faced expression then she blushed realizing her grandparents' casual attitude towards his transformed appearance and cooperation with others. "Oh wow...why didn't I figure that out sooner?" she mumbled.

"It's a little hard to soak in for the uninitiated. Some people just push things uncomfortable away in their minds and pretend they don't exist" he rambled before Sasha took her phone away from him.

"I guess this means I'm comfortable with you then" She said before she leaned in putting her hand on his thigh. "Say, how come you don't go crazy like that other werewolf?"

He sighed heavily and looked away. "I do go crazy...except...I don't know. I have control over it sometimes, but others it just takes over me, and I'm just in for the ride. I guess it's a little easier for me because I'm gradually gaining my powers whereas that werewolf was bitten and given it all at once"

She looked up at him with great concern. "Have you ever lost control around me?" She asked. He nodded slowly and sank his head down. "When was the last time you lost it?"

"About...five minutes ago...when you were petting me"

She stared at him in disbelief. "You mean to tell me you went crazy just then?"

"No, not crazy...but my wolf side was out"

She let off a heavy sigh of relief and smiled stroking his jawline. "Maybe I know how to please the wolf inside" she said giggling. He looked at her weird, but she laughed at him scratching behind his ear. "It'll be fine. I mean it worked out between your mom and dad right?"

"My mom got turned into a werewolf before she had me. I mean sure it worked out"

"Well did she get to have a choice?"

"How the heck would I know? I never thought a human would ever like me, so I never asked"

"Oh...maybe I should ask her next time" Sasha mumbled to herself.
