He also recently put up a story, and I guarantee you that it's worth a read ^^. Anywho, i appreciate any comments, and i look forward to hearing what you all think :D.

****************************************************************************************************************************

Wayne awoke the next morning for school and everything proceeded normally, except for his thoughts. He took a shower, brushed his teeth, and ate breakfast; all the while he could only think about Lyn. Before he walked out the door to go to school, his mother stopped him.

"I want you home right after school young man, understood? The forest is off limits, it's not safe anymore."

After half heartedly nodding, he turned to leave. During his walk he was left to his thoughts.

‘I wonder how Lyn is feeling...I hope she knows that I didn't mean for that to happen. As soon as I can, I'm going to go look for her so I can apologize...' He decided that lunch was still the best opportunity to leave, so he would just have to deal with his thoughts until then.

After taking his seat in the classroom, the bell rang, and Mrs. Larkin slowly got up to greet her students. "Good morning class. I'm going to get right to business. I am very disappointed in all of you. Only one student managed to pass yesterdays test." She said as she walked around the classroom holding a small stack of papers. She stopped at one student's desk with a smile on her face. "Here you go Jay, its good to see that at least one of my students cares about his future." She said while placing his test on his desk. He gave a smirk as he glanced at his usual ‘A+ with a smiley face'. As she proceeded to pass out the remaining tests, her smile faded into a stern look.

As each student received their test back, many grunts and groans were heard, with an occasional "aw maaaan" and "my moms gonna kill me!" She soon reached Wayne, and to her displeasure he gave no reaction upon receiving his F. In fact, he seemed to not even be aware of her presence. Mrs. Larkin didn't take kindly to this and slammed a book onto his desk, which scared the living daylights out of him. He jolted backwards, tipped back on his chair and fell down. After a bout of laughter from his classmates, Wayne got up while gently rubbing the back of his head, which was throbbing from his fall. "This is precisely the reason you failed! You need to get your head out of the clouds and back to reality!" Wayne winced as she yelled at him in front of everyone. "Perhaps you need to stay in during lunch today so we can have a little phone call with your parents!" Wayne's eyes went wide at this, realizing that his plans were ruined.

Satisfied that she got a reaction from him, Mrs. Larkin turned to walk away as Wayne sat back down to think over his situation. ‘If I can't look for Lyn during lunch, when can I...? Mom will probably come take me home after the phone call...If I can't find Lyn and apologize, she will hate me forever... What do I do...?' With no solution coming to mind, he just sat there until lunch time came around.

After a morning full of work, the lunch bell finally rang, and all the students quickly leapt from their chairs. That is, all except for Wayne. Once the other students were all out of the room, Mrs. Larkin closed the door, and proceeded to take a seat at her desk, phone in hand. She asked him to stand near her and write down his mother's phone number. He complied, and during the call, he could hear his mother's loud, angry voice. Once the call ended, Mrs. Larkin turned to Wayne with a wicked smile on her face. "She is on her way here right now, to discuss your recent behavior. Now, until she gets here, let's talk. Why are you always spacing out in class? What is so distracting that you can't pay attention to reality?"

Wayne just looked at her, not fully paying attention as he tried to think of a way out of this. "I don't know..." was all he could muster.

Mrs. Larkin let out a sigh. "Well, isn't that a surprise. Well, we are going to get to the bottom of this one way or the other."

"Um...can I use the restroom please? It's an emergency, I really have to go." Wayne said after a moment of silence.

After letting out another sigh, she agreed. "Just make it quick, I want you in here when your mother arrives."

With that, Wayne ran out the door, rushing past the restrooms to the door leading to the outside playground. He wasted no time in making his way to the hole leading to the forest, quickly crawling through it and dashing through the trees, not once looking back.

Once he was a safe distance from the school, Wayne slowed to a walk, wondering how he should go about looking for Lyn. He decided to just wander around, hoping to find her, since there wasn't really any other choice.

After an hour or so of mindlessly searching, he was beginning to lose hope. However, before his hopelessness could set in, he saw something sparkling in the distance. It was the spring that he and Lyn played in yesterday! He rushed to it, hoping to find Lyn there. Upon arriving, he quickly glanced around, not noticing anything. Just then, he heard a noise from behind a bush near the waters edge. He walked towards it, and the noise got louder. It sounded like a sniffle. Looking through the bush, he saw Lyn sitting by the spring with her feet in the water, a sad look on her face. Wayne decided to make his presence known, and walked through the bush and make his way to Lyn.

She heard the bush rustling, and turned to see him approaching her. At first, she smiled, but soon after, she gave him an angry look that stopped him in his tracks. "Did you come back to look at the ‘monster' again?" She said coldly.

"I came back to apologize... I completely forgot that my friends were coming, and I had no idea that they would act that way...It all happened so fast, I couldn't stop them...please forgive me, I still wanna be friends..."

Lyn stared at him throughout his heartfelt apology. "So...so you didn't set that up? You don't think I'm a...monster...?" she said with new tears forming in her eyes.

"No... you're my friend. I wouldn't think that. Monsters aren't nice like you..."

She blushed at that, and ran over to him wrapping him in a tight embrace for a moment, and then licked his cheek. "Thank you...I thought that I lost the only friend I ever had..." After a second, she realized what she was doing and quickly let go, looking down. "I'm sorry, I gotta stop doing that..."

Wayne put a hand behind his head and said, "It's ok, I know how sad you must have been since ‘that' happened....Anyways, wanna swim while we're here?" Lyn smiled and said "Sure!" then jumped into the water. She surfaced, wondering why Wayne didn't jump in.

"Um...what are you doing...?" She slowly said as she saw Wayne taking off his shirt. "I can't get all my cloths wet this time, or my mom will know that I was out here again." Lyn looked away with a new blush on her face. Sure she never wore cloths herself, but she was covered in fur. "Don't worry," he said, "I'm not taking everything off, I'll keep my shorts on." And with that he jumped in next to Lyn in an attempt to splash her in the process. "Haha, I'll get you back for that!"

After an hour or so of swimming, they decided it was time to get out. Wayne put his shirt and pants back on, and they sat down to rest.

"That was fun!" Wayne said

"Yeah, I'm glad you came back. It's no fun alone." Lyn said with a smile.

"Yeah...but sadly I gotta go home now. My moms gonna be very angry at me. She probably went back to work though."

"Oh...okay then...I guess I'll see ya some other time then..." Wayne could see Lyn's sadness on her face, and had an idea.

"Hey, wanna come see my house? We can play there for a few hours before my mom and dad get home!" Lyn instantly perked up at his proposal.

"That sounds great! I'd love to see where you live!" And with that, the two set off to Wayne's house.

Thankfully Wayne lived not too far from the woods, so they didn't have to travel into town or anything. Upon arriving at his house, Wayne was relieved to see that both his parents' cars were still gone, and Lyn looked awestruck. "Wooow! This is huge! You live in this?" she said with wide eyes, staring at the large structure. It's not a very big house, just a standard sized 2 story house, but anything is big compared to a small den in the woods.

"Yup, this is it! C'mon, I'll show you around!" he said as he ran to the door, Lyn quickly following behind. Wayne unlocked the door with a key from under the welcome mat, and opened it to Lyn, allowing her to go in first. "Everything looks so...nice..." Lyn said, curiously looking at everything. She ran from one thing to the next, getting a close look at all the interior had to offer. "What's this?" She said while cocking her head to one side, letting one ear fall. "It's pretty." "Oh, that's my moms vase, she got it a long time ago before I was born." Wayne explained. After admiring it for a little longer, she glanced around and found something else to run to. "And what's this thing? The inside keeps moving..." Wayne laughed a little and replied "That's a clock, we use it to tell what time of the day it is." Lyn turned to Wayne with a confused look. "Can't you just look at where the sun is?" "Well, we aren't always outside... Anyway, lets head up to my room!" Wayne said as he turned to the stairs and began walking up them.

Wayne opened his door and ran into his room, Lyn slowly following. He turned to her and smiled. Lyn looked around and asked, "What do you do in here?" Wayne leapt onto his bed and replied "This is where I sleep! Come on, lay down, its really comfy!" She walked over and sat on the bed, then laid down. "Wow Wayne, this is comfy! You're lucky that you get to sleep on this every night!"

"Heh, yeah I guess I am. He said as he sat up to look at her. She sat up too, but before she could say anything, her stomach growled rather loudly. "Sounds like somebody is hungry." Wayne said with a chuckle. Lyn looked away with a shy smile, then looked back to Wayne as she heard him getting up. "Wait here, I'll get ya something to eat!" Before Lyn could even reply, he was out the door. Lyn looked out the window near the bed. It was a nice view of the forest. She then proceeded to examine the rest of the room. She giggled upon finding a few pictures of Wayne when he was a baby. Just then, Wayne came back in saying "Hey, whats so funny?" in a mock annoyed voice. She laughed and said "Nothing, nothing at all."

After once again sitting down on his bed, Wayne handed her a plate with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on it. She looked at it questioningly, then at him. "Try it, its delicious!" She decided to take his word for it and took a bite. ‘WOW! THIS IS GREAT!' she thought. After swallowing, she turned to Wayne and said "This IS delicious! Where do you get this stuff?" After a small laugh, he replied "At the grocery store. We buy the peanut butter, jelly, and bread, then put it all together to make this." She was too busy eating the rest to answer, and Wayne just smiled at her while she finished up.

*Belch* "Aaaahhh...thanks Wayne, it tasted great!"

"It's no problem at all, I can make you another whenever you want" he said with a smile.

Just then, they heard the door downstairs open and close. Wayne looked out the window and saw his dads car in the driveway. "Uh oh, my dads home!" Then they heard footsteps coming up the stairs. "Quick, hide in my closet." Wayne whispered to Lyn as he pointed to his closet door. She quickly ran in and closed the door, just as Waynes father opened the door and walked inside.

"Wayne...your mother told me that you skipped out on school while she was on her way to meet you and your teacher. What's gotten into you? We will talk about this once your mother gets home." After shaking his head disappointedly, he closed the door and walked back downstairs.

"Phew. You can come out now. I guess we will have to wait until everyone is asleep for you to go home." Lyn slowly stepped out of the closet and said "Guess so... oh well..."

They both walked to the bed and relaxed on it together. "So Lyn...what's your family like?" She replied without turning her head, "My mom is very nice and caring, and she's always looking out for me and tries to make sure that I'm always safe. My dad is also nice. He hunts for us to bring us back food, and keeps us all safe. He's strong, and nothing can ever stand up to him. He always makes me and mom feel safe around him, like nothing will ever hurt us..."

"Wow...that sounds very nice..." Wayne said, while staring at the ceiling. "My mom also always looks out for me, but she's a bit overprotective. She thinks every little thing is dangerous, like the forest, and animals. My dad is really nice, even though he looks threatening. He usually sticks up for me when mom is mad at me, but I don't know about this time..."

Lyn turned to look at Wayne. "I'm sorry, it's because of me that you're in so much trouble isn't it..."

"No, no, not at all, it was worth it. I couldn't just leave you alone could I?" He said while turning to smile at her.

After a while of just talking, it got late, and the sun was beginning to set, casting a yellowish tint across the sky. Wayne's mom got home, and after calling him downstairs and yelling at him for who knows how long, sent him back up to his room for the rest of the night with no dinner. Once Wayne got back up, Lyn got out of the closet. "What happened?" she said with a worried look. Wayne gave her a smile and said "Nothing really, I just got yelled at for awhile, which I'm used to."

A few minutes later, Wayne heard the voices of his friends from school coming from downstairs. Before Lyn could hide, his door burst open. "Where did you disappear to after lun.....AAAHHH" Derek said, and screamed as he noticed Lyn standing there next to Wayne. "SSHHH shut up Derek!" Wayne said, but Derek didn't listen and ran downstairs. "This is bad." Wayne told Lyn. Before she could answer, Wayne's dad ran in holding a baseball bat, followed by Derek, Jason, David, and Mark. Lyn was scared as hell, and began to look around for a way out. Before Wayne's dad could make a swing at her, she crashed through the window, cutting herself on the shards of glass. She easily landed on her feet after the 2 story drop, and dashed towards the forest with amazing speed.

All this happened too fast for Wayne to do anything except watch. Once she was gone, they all looked at Wayne for a second, then ran downstairs, with Wayne in tow.

His dad rounded up some neighbors, and after telling them how a creature almost killed Wayne, they all grabbed their hunting rifles and flashlights. Wayne tried to tell him to stop, but he just yelled "Go back to the house, we will handle the beast!" The group then went to where Lyn landed, and noticed a blood trail, along with tracks. ‘Oh my god, there's blood. I hope she's ok...' Wayne thought. "Alright, let's follow that thing and hunt it down!" Wayne's father yelled. Everyone followed him into the woods as he used the blood trail and tracks to hunt Lyn down.

Wayne followed his father along with the group, but stayed a little ways back to avoid detection. He was hoping they wouldn't be able to track her down, and call off the search soon. As the group spread out, Wayne lost track of his father, along with half the group.

It was strangely quiet... Wayne was getting a bit scared as they went deeper into the forest. He wasn't scared of the forest or for himself, he was scared for Lyn. ‘Poor Lyn, she must be scared, and hurt. I hope those cuts weren't too bad. Oh please, nobody find Ly'*BLAM* Wayne was jolted from his thoughts by what sounded like a gunshot! *HOOOOWWLLLL!!!* *BLAM BLAM, BLAM* "I GOT IT!" Wayne heard his father yell in the distance. As he dashed toward where he heard his father, he felt tears forming in his eyes...
