The Dimensional Traveler- Chapter Two
#4 of The Dimensional Traveler
Sorry for the short chapter, but I was trying to emulate the thoughts that would be going through the main character's mind.
---A Surprise Heritage--- Wow! A lot has happened today. Okay, let me start where I left off. I was in the cave that I had conveniently found along my path when night fell. I was terrified to say the least. I mean, I was in a strange new world, at night, outside, without anything to sleep on except the hard ground. As I laid down, however, I realized that the ground was soft and moist! Almost like a...tongue... I looked up as I realized this and saw a uvula (the dangly thing in the back of your mouth)! I jumped up and ran out of the cave-mouth-thing! It was a normal cave on the outside, but inside it was actually ALIVE! Luckily for me, the daylight had just started. I ran towards the Capital City, following the signs the entire way. I reached the city before the sun was a quarter of the way UP the sky! It was then that I realized something was missing. I LEFT MY SWORD IN THE CAVE-MOUTH-THING AS WELL AS ALL OF THE PROVISIONS THAT I HAD PICKED UP AT THE VILLAGE! I had just entered the city when fanfare erupted from all around me! Just as suddenly as the fanfare had started (I was terrified because I didn't know what was going on), it stopped. Confused, I looked around and there was NOTHING around me no people, no speakers, no instruments, NOTHING! "Wha...Whe...uhuhuhuhuh..." *THUD* I had fainted. When I came to, I was in a fancy room, which would be expected from the capital of whatever the Underworld would be called. I started to get up when a gravelly voice said, "I wouldn't do that if I were you." "Who are you?" I asked. "Show yourself!" I demanded. "Heheheheheh, yep. You are definitely the descendent of them," the voice chuckled. "We recovered your supplies from the Rinachoentalotorna (rina-cho-ENTAH-low-tore-nah). Not that you'll need them anymore." "The Rinacho...whahhhh?" "The cave-mouth-thing, as you called it." "Oh. By the way, you still haven't answered my question: WHO ARE YOU!?" "I go by many names. The one that I prefer to be called by "business partners" is "Margret" so that is what you can call me," the figure provided the requested information...maybe, "and I am what you would call a female." 'So, this being, I don't think it is human, is a female that goes by the name "Margret". Seems legit. Wait! There was a character in a video game that sounds familiar and goes by the same name. Eh, coincidences happen.' Margret explained what occurred when I fainted. Apparently, the entrance that I had gone through, was for the royal family only. There were sensors that could detect the DNA structure of anyone that passed by them. These sensors had been set to activate an electric-like current to a set of extremely tiny speakers that play the fanfare that caused me to be so confused that I fainted. The sensors only activate the current when someone enters that gate that has the DNA of the royal family. Otherwise, the sensor activates a different signal that sounds an alarm. "Okay, so let me get this straight. I entered through the Royal Gate," I interrupted. "Yes," Margret patiently responded. "I was allowed through because I apparently have the "Blood of the Royal Family" running through my veins?" "Yes." "Is this a dream?" "No." "Is this a practical joke?" "No." "Okay, please continue." "I have said everything that there is to say, because that is all that occurred, except that you were brought to the palace seeing as you were the only one that had been around when the fanfare went off, but how did you get to that gate? It has been sealed for at least a decade or so." "I just ran straight, only pausing for breath once I was in front of the gates, but now that you mention it, when I had stopped, there were people around the gate, and I had stopped for maybe half a minute or so." "Teleportation." "What?" "You teleported there. The only way for you to be able to do that is if you had been there before." "Whaaaahhhhh?"
