"Did you two sleep well, boys?" Kumatetsu whispered Ventus and me, as we shared a morning hug inside our tent for three, before the extinguished campfire. We were looking forward to camp together for a while, until I finally reached these two guys at one of my several backpacking trips. My online friends and I spent our first day at the campground training martial arts and sharing working out tips, which led us to closer ways of bonding like cooking dinner together and heart-to-heart conversations that warmed our intimacy inside our tent. We broke camp the following noon, right after Kumatetsu promised Ventus and me to take us to a secluded pond these two guys knew. Kumatetsu and Ventus' jokes while we were swimming together—which highlighted the length of my sword as massive as Kumatetsu's—were both heartfelt and memorable. We left the pond behind once we got dry and dressed, Ventus leading our way, Kumatetsu and I with our backpacks on. When I realized it, I found the three of us hiking behind an enormous waterfall that roared like a beast equally powerful and serene! We halted our stride without speaking a word, Ventus cheerful and misty-eyed, Kumatetsu contemplative and content, and me taking my backpack off and sitting on the grass, while my two friends and I gazed at the monumentality of the cascading waters. "This place belongs to a folk rock song," I reflected out loud. Without taking his eyes from the widespread flow, whose transparent droplets reminded of an impressionist painting, Ventus grinned: "What you said, Jey, reminds me about a song by Richy Mitch & the Coal Miners." Suddenly, Kumatetsu laughed, his bearish face taken over by that wide smile Ventus and I used to love and cherish. "Evergreens are actually surrounding us, boys," Kumatetsu celebrated.
