Ballad of a humble desert bard (prologue)
Heyo! Back with something new! Actually trying my hand at some SFW stuff! Sorry, no smut will be found if this becomes a series lol I do have some smuttier stuff on the way, though!
This is just a general concept introduction for a series I want to write if there's an interest!
It takes place in a harsh, unforgiving, wild west inspired fantasy setting! It's about.... Well, exactly what the title says! A cute little corgi bard named Milo traversing a dark and miserable world to bring the joys of music to all! This series would be somewhat episodic, each "part" featuring Milo in a different local with different characters!
This will generally be a comedic and wholesome feel-good series about the hijinks of a musical corgi in a setting he is extremely out of place in. Think if Looney Tunes met madmax lmao
Anyways, let me know what you guys think! Does this sound enticing? Would you be interested into seeing this as a series?
In the country of Arivada, in the actual genuine middle of nowhere, in the dry, hot, and generally unpleasant desert, there could be heard a single tune from a ukulele echoing for miles, breaking the ambience, accompanied by a high pitched youthful voice.
"All day, I face
The barren wastes
Without the taste of water
Cool water~"
The sand crunched under the young Corgi boys feet as he eagerly skipped along the barren wasteland.
"Ol' Dan and I,
With throats burned dry
And souls the cry
For water
Cool clear water~"
The young Corgi’s voice serenaded birds and tiny creatures that sprouted from the ground. (Or scared them away. Everybody's a critic these days.) There were beaked beasts that sprinted across the desolation, and clawed monstrosities that chased after them.
The boy wore an outfit that made him a walking target. All bright and extravagant colors. He wore a green tunic, white pants that were tucked into a pair or brown boots, and a big, green, flowy feathered hat, the feather being bright red.
"Oh, Dan, can't ya see
That big green tree
Where the waters runnin' free
And it's waitin' there for you and me~"
The desert was beige with an orange sky and blistering unforgiving white sun. The ambience was occasionally broken by geysers erupting with acid, coating and sizzling on the surrounding sand. Not a drop of water was in sight.
"The nights are cool
And I'm a fool
Each star's a pool of water
Cool water~"
The boy gracefully stepped around the acid stains on the ground, seamlessly ducked under hawks swooping down with their razor talons barely brushing his back, and paid no mind to the skulls and bones scattered across the surface of the land.
"But with the dawn
I'll wake and yawn
And carry on
To water
Cool clear water~"
The boys voice and the strum of his ukulele were the harmony that broke the desolate silence of the wasteland. The boy cared not for the dangers, injustices, or general harshness of the world, he just wanted to play his songs. He kept serenading the ugly and uncaring world until it appreciated his artistic voice..... Or, more likely, he was gruesomely mauled to death by wild dogs. Whichever came first, really.
