After some encouragement from writers' crossing, i opted to diverge further from the film's muddled pacing. i tried to balance this with what's said in the film, hopefully casting a new light onto what we do know transpired.

This was my submission for writers' crossing's 2022 march writing prompt. i don't know how i cranked this out as quickly as i did, though having a smaller limit on length than usual might've helped. this one's for anyone who's had to suffer in retail.
