Rules of Engagement

Chapter Nine

By Roofles

It was the same day, night even an hour later, as Togo reached around to stroke along Charles's shaft; down over his sack and cup a hand full of him.

“Already ready for more husky lovin?” Togo growled playfully chewing on the side of Charles ear. The man squirmed as Togo humped his rear roughly, petting down his naked side and dragging those dull claws back up.

The husky didn't stop there as he rubbed over his sides and up his chest, teasing the hair there some more to the husky's amusement. Togo turned him around slowly, staring down at Charles.

“Such a tasty, sexy man.” Togo nuzzled down at his neck making him groan as he nipped underneath it. Togo licked it softly, taking a slow breath of the man. The husky nosed his way down, sniffing until he found a nipple and slurped over it as Charles squirmed and giggle, trying to push him off.

Togo just wagged his butt as he chewed and licking over his chest.

A knock on the door drew their attention and the two looked over. Togo sat in Charles lap, grinding down against him as he looked at the door in frustration.

Reese wasn't amused. “Someone's at the door for you.” The nodded towards Togo. The wolf just looked at the two before rolling his eyes and walking out.

“He really does have the worse timing.” Charles joked as Togo got up. The husky was still in a high from it all and was nuzzling and touching, bumping his nose against Charles cheek. Any excuse just to touch the man and feel him.

That bubble of happiness burst as he saw who it was.

“Easy.” Reese was sitting against the couch, arms folded and was keeping watch over the situation.

Bret was at the door. The large husky still had a swollen eye and would for the rest of the day. He wasn't making eye contact and shuffled his feet, looking anywhere else but at them.

“The fuck do you want.” Togo just growled. His grip tightened on Charles as he spoke.

“Look,” Bret began slowly rubbing the back of his neck. “I came by for a reason. Was going too talk about it before but well.” And Bret chuckled lightly at that. “Forgot you could throw a punch for a runt.”

That made Togo's fur stand up. Like Charles, he only had on a pair of shorts. The husky fur was messed up, banged up from the previous confrontation and already Togo was getting ready for round two.

“Hey,” Charles finally spoke up finding his words. “Let's just hear him out. Then we can kick his ass.” Togo was still tense but didn't move further than he already have.

Bret only then seemed to notice the human standing next to his younger, half brother. “Well...” He said slowly and Charles could see the gears in his head turning trying to figure out why he was still there. “It's about dad.”

“Like I give two shits about that fuck.” Togo just replied tactfully, spitting to the side. Reese had to stop himself from kicking Togo's ass himself for that. He tried so hard to keep the house clean.

Bret frowned at him. “He's still dad.” The malamute said getting frustrated over it. “Forgot how stubborn you can be.”

“Yeah, you seemed to have forgotten a lot.” Togo just replied with a glare. “Like the beatings he called discipline. Or the fact when he got drunk he liked to take it out on Chrisie and you wouldn't do shit about that.” Togo gritted his teeth. “Someone had to step up and be the punching bag instead of your own kid sister.”

Bret took a step forward at that. “He apologized for that!” The malamute barked now, getting angry. Reese shifted his weight and the malamute backed down, still with teeth showing. “Time and time again. The alcohol just makes him a different person…”

“Oh, don't give me that bull shit.” Togo spat at him. “Going to AA meetings, claiming he was cured of the big bad disease and then would just go and do the same shit the next night.” Togo waved his arm. “Let's just give ourselves to God. We're just powerless. It's not my fault,” he quoted the very words his dad had said to him. “Nothing ever was HIS fault.” Togo gave him a cold stare. “Like not going to mum bed side when she got sick.”

“Hey.” Bret said trying to justify that.

“A whole month. Every day I found a means to go there. Even for a couple of minutes.” Togo shoulders fell a bit as he spoke. “Watching her waste away like that. Being there for her when she needed us most. And where the fuck was he?”

Bret just matched that look before giving up and shaking his head. “I told Rick this wouldn't work.” He grumbled, looking outside. “Look,” he just forced himself to say before leaving. “Dad's really sick...”

“Good.” Was all Togo had to say on that matter. “He deserves far worse.” And before the malamute could say another two words Togo was back down the hallway and slamming his door.

Charles just watched him go.

“I'll go check on him.” He told Reese.

“Hey, wait.” Bret took a step forward reaching out for him. Reese was between the two before Charles had time to turn around. Bret lifted up both hands. “Look, just it's my card.” He said slowly as if the wolf had drawn a gun on him. “When he cools his shit down, have him call me. Or Rick. Or someone!” Bret ears splayed out as his face drop.

Reese took the card without a word, just staring at him. Unblinking. Until finally the malamute excused himself and left.

“Well that could've gone worse.” Charles shrugged, trying to lighten the mood a bit. Reese looked at him, grunted and went back to the kitchen counter. The wolf had his laptop out and seemed to be doing work from home today.

Charles noticed a small chat window in the corner though from a popular dating sight. He didn't bring it up.

“Give him five.” Reese told him before Charles managed to get down the hallway. The wolf seemed to know the subtle cues far better than he did so Charles just took his advice and headed back into the living room. He was starving, unable to finish his lunch with the table being flipped over.

“Want anything?” Charles asked opening up the fridge. He made sure to only take things from Togo's shelf in the middle.

Reese just ignored him, grumbling himself. Everyone was on edge and maybe that's why Charles was doing so well with this. He was usually the one people came too when the shit hit the fan able to be calm, reasonable and do what needed to be done.

Charles couldn't even pull out the mayo when his phone rang. He answered it without much thought, stopping dead in his tracks at hearing Marcy voice.

“Everything ok? You didn't come home last night.” She asked, sounding concern yet was clearly occupied with something else on the other line.

“Yeah. Sorry just some rough stuff came up and was helping out.” Charles said, trying not to focus on the fact Reese was giving him that look. He wanted to tell the wolf off, that he was aware what a scummy guy he was and it was none of his damn business. It only bothered him so much because he knew the wolf, who hadn't said a word, was right.

“Well we still are on today, right?” She asked getting a bit annoyed now that the issue was gone.

“Right...” Charles said unable to even recall what the plans were. He figured it'd be best not to push any further than he already had. “I'll be home soon, need to shower and such first.” He hung up. “What?” He glared at the wolf.

Reese just snorted.

“Things came up! I couldn't just like not help help Togo. He needed me!” Charles tried to explain, motioning down the hallway. “Like now.”

Reese just gave him that look.

“Oh, screw you.” Charles waved him off going down the hallway and knocking on the door. He came in even if Togo didn't say too. “Got a call. Have to go in.” Charles said being vague as he usually was when this subject came up.

Togo was going through his closet just to keep himself busy. The husky stopped to look over at him. He just grunted and went back to what he was doing.

“I'll talk with you later, ok?” Charles gave him a small hug from behind and headed out, putting on his shirt as he went. Togo watched him go but didn't say anything on the matter, choosing to keep his words to himself this time.

“And hey,” Charles said coming back into the living room. This was uncomfortable. So many things were going on right now and coming up everything was getting messed up. “Thanks.” The man just said to the wolf. “For helping out, for everything.” And he cleared his throat, already having embarrass himself for one evening.

“Uh,” Reese started making Charles stop near the front door. “If like you were going out...” The wolf didn't make eye contact, lowering his laptop screen down a bit to hide it. “Would it be too much for you to pick the time and place to meet up?”

Charles was baffled by what he meant.

“Usually, yeah.” He just said. It wasn't everyday Reese spoke, let alone to him.

“With someone.” Reese tried to clarify yet was still vague as all hell. “Would that be too much?”

“To pick the time and place?” Charles had to asked. Reese just gave a short nod. “Well uh… like me and Togo for example?” The wolf just nodded again. “Well I mean we've known each other for a while now so… for us it's fine. If it's someone like you just met, it might be good to not like… decide everything. It's not the 50s.” He chuckled. “People don't like not having choices. Or ordered around, usually.”

Reese frowned a bit on that, seeming to have a problem with that. An alpha being told he wasn't allowed to just decide everything was like telling Togo he couldn't do doggie style.

“Right.” Reese face fell a bit as he swiveled back around to start typing again. “And…” Reese didn't look over at him. “Do you know a good… Vegetarian restaurant?”

“Can just search on google.” Charles was curious but knew he was in a rush and said his goodbyes, heading out without looking back.

Charles was halfway down the street when Togo slinked his way out of his room and into the living room.

“He gone?” Togo asked, looking around. Reese only frowned, being disturbed again while he was working. “Can't believe he just. I mean after it all. And then there was the.” Togo began, tossing his arms up and walking around in a huff. “Just like could I have one day, a single day, just for us? Is that too much to ask.”

Reese didn't feel the need to point out that Charles was engaged to this woman. That seemed like something clearly evident and that Togo was the mistress in this situation.

“Like, I get it. I do. I understand that he's like. But it's just like.” And Togo wrung his hands in front of him with a growl. “You know what I mean?” He asked the wolf.

“Do you know a good veggie restaurant?” Reese asked him, without looking over. The massive black wolf was hunched up over on himself typing on the tiny laptop using only the very tip of his nails on the keys. He had to be careful not to put too much pressure or he'd break the thing.

“No, but I got some grass in my closet if that's what you need.” Togo offered, thumbing over his shoulder.

“Don't you work?” Reese asked finally sitting up and stretching. Bending over like that agitated his back after a while.

“Well I had taken the day off to spend it with him but now he's off being all Straight.” Togo gagged.

“Give him space. You clinging fucker.” Reese just growled as he shut his laptop and headed out himself.

“I'm not that clinging!” Togo whined from the doorway as Reese went into the bathroom to give himself the once more.

On the other side of the sink they had a large full body mirror. It was normally used to make sure your fur looked decent all over. Reese had to use it due to the other mirror being too small.

The wolf was in a salmon over shirt, a pair of loose shorts and was trying to see if the beret was a little too hipster douche. It was and it went right into the garbage can. He looked over his teeth, his whiskers and tried to smooth each eyebrow out.

Reese was meticulous about his appearance. He still looked like a wild man with his fur sticking up all over. His sharp wolfish features didn't help either. Most kept their distance from him. Giving him a wide birth both inside and out. No one wanted to rub him the wrong way and he was perfectly fine with that for the most part. Problem was, experience had taught him through trial and error that it made getting to know people extremely difficult.

Humans thought it was bad, being judged on first appearance. Try being a hulking wolf. Even spending a good hour brushing his fur out, it looked like he had just climbed out of bed. He had used fur gel but not only was it expensive, it bothered him to no end. Over the years he had made a lot of sacrifices and adjustments to try and be less intimidating.

“I'm not too clingy am I?” Togo asked from the doorway. Reese batted an ear at the sound of his voice.

“Yes.” Reese just said grabbing the dog by both arms and moving him to the side. “You are.”

“What?” Togo whined, following after him like a puppy. Reese rolled his eyes, only to drag a hand down his face as they weren't the only dogs in the house anymore. Brigsby and Muff had gotten home and they had taken the tv. Being loud, noisy and unsanitary as usual.

One of the chip bags were ripped open, potato chips flying all over as the two dogs hungrily devoured the whole bag by themselves.

“Brigs, vacuum. Muff, dishes.” Reese just laid out the chore list for the day as he headed for the door.

“I'm not that needy, ok.” Togo just went on, still following after him.

“Right.” Reese just rolled his eyes and going out. The wolf had to stop to see the car parked behind his own. He hated taking Muff's as it was an unreliable piece of shit that the wolf had been working on for the past year just to keep it up and running.

He wasn't in the mood to move it or get one of the other dogs too; he just didn't want to go back in and listen to Togo complain about being in a rather messed up relationship.

“At least he has one.” Reese snarled a bit, holding back and letting out his breath slow and steady. He needed to watch his temper. The wolf just snagged his helmet from the garage and peeled out on his bike and went around the cars. He preferred the quiet models over something like a Harley; maybe it was just the wolf in him but he liked sneaking up without being heard.

Reese made great time. Most people liked to show up a little late as if to make it seem like they had a life. He saw it as them having more important issues than what they were doing, something rude and uncalled for. Reese was just old school in a lot of ways.

The place was quiet and there was a smell in the air. Yogurt, sliced cucumber and a hint of something else. A family recipe he could tell. Tzatziki, a greek classic for gyros. The place had gotten good stars on “feed me now” app, not like he trusted it.

Glutton free this. Organic that. Non processed, locally grown. Signs hung all over boasting about how fresh everything was, yet his nose could tell they still cut corners here and there. You couldn't lie to a wolf nose.

He took one of the middle tables, lifting up the menu resting on it. It was seat itself and the lamb at the counter couldn't form words to talk to the hungry predator looming over him. Sheep, he had to correct himself. Lamb was food, sheep was not food.

Reese frowned at all this. This was a joke. What was he doing here in a vegetarian restaurant waiting to meat someone that… meet, someone that is a herbivore. Oh, if his family could see him now. They'd fall over dead. That made Reese snort a chuckle, looking over the menu still. There wasn't a single thing on the menu that looked appetizing.

Though Reese, like any anthro wolf, could eat most things. His stomach growled for a big slab of rack of lamb. Mutton chops. Rump roast. The very thought of it made him drool and he didn't even notice the waitress standing there.

“J-j-just you s-si-sir?” She stammered, holding up the menu's in front of her like a shield. Reese looked over at her with his bright, hungry eyes. She took a timid step back.

“Waiting on someone.” He spoke slowly, keeping his jowls mostly closed the whole time. He had to swallow loudly to keep from drooling. The act was a bit too much for her poor heart and she quickly went to help someone else.

“You know, it's usually not good to drool after someone else while on a date.” A voice blew in with the sound of wind chimes. The white fur sheep offered a hand with slightly hoofed fingers. “Reese I take it?” He asked in that sing song voice that made the wolf's ears perk up.

“Y-yes.” Reese got up, bumping the table and knocking over his chair as he shook the sheep's hand.

“Bill.” The sheep reminded him with a wink. Reese wasn't sure if sheep was the right term, the guy had slightly curved horns. Shouldn't he be a ram then? Or were they the same? All he knew was that he wanted to gnaw on those horns like a dog bone. “Nice place. I love coming here.” He said looking around.

Reese moved around to pull his chair out, much to Bill's amusement.

“Thanks. No need for such formalities.”

Reese didn't say anything on that as he lifted his chair back up and took a seat only after Bill had.

“That your bike outside?” Bill asked, turning around to see if he could get a look at it. “Remember you talking about it a while back.” The ram just smiled.

Reese grunted his reply.

“Something a'matter?” Bill dared to ask.

Reese finally looked back up at him with a quizzical expression. “No?”

“Ok, then.” Bill just tapped his fingers on the table top. Waiting for Reese to say something more. The wolf did not. “You still working as a mechanic?”

Reese grunted a response.

“Glad to see you got the bike up an running after, who was it?” Bill asked trying to fish for something to talk about. Reese had been far more conversational online. “Clam or something?” Bill said Clem's name wrong on purpose.

The wolf looked up at him again with those stunning, captivating eyes. They were slightly larger than normal and could entrance the ram all night long, staring deep into those liquid pools.

“Yup.” Reese just said simply.

Bill wanted to face palm after that, glad to see the waitress come back over. She stayed close to Bill and seemed to forget about the wolf, pretending he wasn't there at all.

Reese was about to speak up, ordering for the ram but bit his tongue on that. Stupid human Togo was fucking had said it wasn't good to be too dominant.

“Classic gyro with the creamy tomato Orzo soup.” Bill ordered.

The gyro's here were all vegetarian and didn't even mention meat, let alone lamb. They had several different types of cheeses, yogurts and hummus or such to compensate. And Reese was baffled to what would he could even stomach. Everything looked so… healthy. It was disgusting.

“And he'll have the special with a Soulvlaki.” Bill ordered for Reese. She thanked him and quickly left. “Hope that's ok.” Bill smiled with baby blue eyes, catching the wolf off guard. “It's tofu but still better than anything else on the menu I think.”

Reese frowned a bit, thinking that over. Was it a double standard then? That he couldn't order for him but Bill could order something for the wolf?

“If that's ok.” Bill added, getting a bit concerned. Reese didn't type much or talk a whole lot online but at least it was something. Bill was sure he had done something wrong, maybe it was too fucked up for a wolf to be eating out with a sheep.

“Would it have been wrong...” Reese finally spoke up. A deep, gruff sound that made his chest rumble softly. “To have ordered something before you got here?”

“For you or me?” Bill just asked, glad the wolf was talking about something. Even if it was a bit odd. Yet, he was expecting that from him.

“Both.” Reese just stated.

“Well, have you been here before?” Bill offered lightly.

The wolf just frowned at him, saying enough with that look alone.

“Of course not.” Bill snorted, laughing and shaking his head. “Well do you know what I like?”

“Oats.” Reese said dead serious. Bill snorted at that too.

“I had been joking! Well I do, but it's just so cliché.” Bill waved it off, resting back.

Reese just looked at him. “You didn't answer my question.” He stated rather flatly.

“Well, no then. You haven't been here. You don't know what I wanted, I could've changed my mind or wanted to try something new!” Bill rectangular eyes lit up. “I love new.” He just said with a large smile.

Reese just watched him talk, his eyes shifting and moving with every word he said. It was the only sign other than an ear flick here or a tail twitch there that Reese had even heard what he had said. And it took some time for Bill to get used to it. Once he did Bill was the one to fill in the silence.

“Went skydiving last month. Man oh man! I thought my wool was just going to fly off! Was crazy.” Bill tugged on his chest. Reese watched, wanting to reach over and rub his hand through it. Bill took great care of his wool and it wasn't matted or muddy. It was almost a snow white, untainted and clean. A contrast to Reese's own rich black. The only thing darker than his fur, which he had to look up, was Vantablack.

“And I totally want to take a ride.” Bill just said, cleaning his snout with a napkin, folding it neatly and placing it back where it had been before. Reese liked that. “On your bike,” the ram chuckled. “Got to buy me dinner...”

Reese had already given his card to the waitress for the bill.

“I was joking!” Bill pulled on his ears. The ram had thick wool all over his body save for his face, thought he kept his hair trimmed short otherwise he'd have wicked wool bangs. It reminded Reese of the sheep dog. “You don't have to pay.”

Reese just looked at him. Bill rolled his eyes and nearly face planted the table. It was hard enough having a conversation with the wolf let alone an argument.

“Fine. Next time is on me.” Bill chuckled. Reese tail did a full wag at that. “So… can I ride your bike?” Bill eyes lit up once more, the adrenaline junkie wanting a good fix.

Reese left a nice tip before getting up and walking out without a word on the matter. Bill just followed behind. His mother had always told him never follow a wolf, an extremely common saying amongst his large family. Much like never take candy from a stranger. Bill would've gladly risked it for a chance.

Reese picked up his helmet and placed it over Bill's head without a word. The wolf tossed a leg over, giving the engine a good dose of gas. The wolf smirked at the excitement on Bill's face as he patted the seat behind him.

“Hold on.” Reese looked back at him with a smug look plastered onto his face. “Don't you dare let me go.”

The back wheel spun quickly, sending up smoke as it tore into the cement and the two were off. Going far too fast around on the busy road, Reese maneuvered with a skilled experience around the cars and even leaned his full weight into the turn to counter weight of the extra passenger. He even let the nail of his toe drag along the ground in the run.

Reese was showing off now as Bill cheered after.

“Hold tight!” And Reese gave a good grunt as he lifted the front wheel up and did a wheelie all the way down the street.

The wolf used to taken motocross as a pup. The bike was bigger now, but so was he. When they went out to the cabin he'd bring his other mountain bike and practice, coming back all beat up and bruised. It was worth every hour now as he spun the bike around and went back down the road.

“Holy shit dude!” Bill said loudly, holding his waist even tighter as they nearly hit a truck, cutting into a side ally and down. “Fucking awesome.” The ram finally said with wobbly legs as they came to a stop and he was able to get out.

He spun around and grabbed Reese's hands with his own. “Can't we do that again!”

“Well...” Reese thought that over. “I think the cops are catching on.” He muttered, splaying his ears out. He rather not be the one getting picked up from jail for once. The wolf had gone a bit over board this time around, showing off.

Reese was actually flexing now, showing off his ripped biceps a bit more for the ram. Reese was still wearing the salmon color over shirt as he flexed his other arm, letting Bill feel him up as he asked about how much he worked out.

“Enough.” Was all Reese said letting the ram hold on and lift him off the ground a bit. The wolf nosed at him, sniffing at the soft wool.

“Hey there.” Bill chuckled, blushing a bit as he let go. He fluffed up his chest a bit.

“Smells nice.” Reese just said staring at his chest. Bill only flushed some more as the wolf closed in and pressed his nose right up against him and sniffed some more.

“Well if you like it that much, come winter I'll knit you a sweater.” Bill just said trying not to focus too much on the wolf's forward advances in public as they were. Reese just continued, nosing at him until Bill felt that cold wet nose against his bare skin and pulled back with a giggle.

Reese wiggled his nose and stood back up with saying yes or no to that offer. The wolf wasn't sure if he was kidding or not.

“Could do socks. Or a wool cap. Or anything wool really.” Bill chuckled, fluffing himself up some more. The ram wasn't a that big of a guy but when he fluffed himself up he looked far larger than he was. “Too bad I got a trim last week or I'd have saved the lot.”

Reese just tilted his head to the side as they walked down the street together.

“Well, I'm a sheep see.” Bill chuckled as if that wasn't obvious already. “So when I go in to get my wool trimmed down they keep the lot of it and I get a free trim. Well, sometimes after a heavy winter I'll actually get paid for it. Depends on how much I get rid of.”

Reese thought that over. “I could use a pillow.”

Bill chuckled at that. “Well, until then.” He slapped his fluffy chest. “You'll just have to make do with me.”

Reese gave him a thoughtful look at that.

Things were beginning to cool down in the day as Reese laid back on the fluffy wool chest. Bill had removed his vest and was laying on his side up on one of the hills in the park, under a tree. The ram had a book out as the wolf rested back against him, enjoying the feel of the soft wool against his face. Reese turned onto his side, facing the sheep and nuzzling his face against him some more; Bill could feel Reese's warm breath wash over his face as the wolf let out a slow exhale, relaxing into him. Reese wrapped an arm around him, hugging his pillow as the ram continued to read late into the evening.

Bill scratched Reese's head as he continued reading his book.

Some sheep sheer off their whole all together while others don't at all in protest. Both sides seemed extreme and Bill kept a happy middle. He liked his wool, it was part of him and who he was. And it felt nice for the wolf to slide his fingers through it, tugging lightly as Reese growled and pressed into him as he enjoyed his afternoon nap.

“You got black fur all over me.” Bill chuckled later that night.

“I can do better.” Reese said looking him over.

“What? Going to make some gray? Cause white wool and black fur… fifty shades? Hah?” Bill waved him off. “Screw you. That was funny.”

Reese just gave him a look, snorted and shook his head. The black wolf stretched out in front of Bill's jeep. “Best pillow I've had.”

Bill just smiled at that. “I am rather comfy.”

“Come over.” Reese ordered, thought he meant to ask.

“What?” Bill did laugh at that, the force in which the wolf had said it.

“I need a new pillow.” Reese scratched the back of his neck, looking to the side a bit. “And well been meaning to get one...”

“Most people just ask if I want to come in for coffee.” Bill rubbed his nose, shaking his head. “I'd love to come over.”

Reese tail wagged once at that.

“Just ignore the other dogs there an follow me.” Reese motioned with his head as he got on his bike.

It didn't take long for the two to get back.

“I really didn't think you actually meant a pillow.” Bill laughed, the sound of it shaking his chest. Reese murred softly at the feel of that as he rested back against him in his room.

Reese's room was the largest in the place. It was a master bedroom with a king size bed on the floor. It didn't have a bed frame, most canine's preferring them to be flat on the floor than propped up. It was covered in pillows with chocolate silk sheets.

Bill couldn't fathom as why the wolf needed another pillow, having a rather large collection already. Fluffy brightly colored things. The sheep had figured he wore the shirt to come off less threatening, in fact it just seemed the jet black fur wolf happened to like colorful, fluffy things.

Reese explained they just felt nice and looked good, much like Bill. Which was very blunt for the sheep who was used to playing games while on a date.

It was almost refreshing to meet someone who literally meant, use him as a pillow rather than try that just to get him into bed. Well he was in bed, but that was different. Sort of. Maybe Reese was far better at this than he thought.

Of course the wolf had taken his shirt off, neatly folding it and putting it back on a hanger in the closet. He was watching TV now on the large flat screen on the far wall, with cross legs and folded hands.

Bill had been waiting for him to make a move, to do something like take his pants off but Reese seemed to be happy with where they were at now. Even as they changed positions, Reese sitting behind him with both arms draped over his shoulders and legs on either side.

“We're friends right?” Reese spoke up.

“Sure.” Bill sadly, trying to see where this was going. He was already undoing the top of his pants. He'd never had wolf before.

“Can I chew on your horns?” Reese asked, moving back to look at him. The wolf was drooling slightly.

“Uh… Wow, I honestly did not see that coming.” Bill blinked a few times, shrugged. “Sure.” It would be a first for that too.

And Reese just chewed on one of them as they spent the night together.
