The pod rumbles as it passes through space, I feel the impact as metal buckles, I get out of my seat, I grab my gear as the pod opens, I jump out as I rev my chainaxe and I say "Alright, let's disable the ship." as I begin to move.

Alarms blare as I see a small squad of toads, their attire is a blue jumpsuit with green armor plates, the letter 'K' is on their shoulders and they're armed with blasters, these are storm toads the core of the Toad Army. I open up with my sidearm, the bullets mostly miss but a few do strike home, I swing my axe which destroys one of their blasters. One of the toads lunges at me only to be greeted by a knee to his chest, I quickly finishes off another by firing a quick burst, the last two quickly try to retreat but I unload the last of the magazine, ending their withdrawal. I reload and continue onward.

I hear from my captain "Our shields are starting to buckle!"

I say "Bring up known schematics, I'm in hallway 27-A!"

I hear "Continue until you reach junction 52-F, turn left and you should reach the core reactor!"

I say "Affirmative sir!" as I charge down the hallway.

More toads get in the way but half of them hear the vicious rev my axe and run, those that stand their ground are quickly gunned down, rammed into a wall or even cleaved. It's gross as the gore splatters all over me, but I'm not worried about it, what matters is covering the training frigate and whatever happens after that happens. I see the reactor room dead ahead but these huge blast doors seal, I stop and start to try to find anther way to get to the core but I get ambushed by a heavy weapons team armed with somekind of laser turret, I look to where I came from and another squad comes with one of them armed with what look like a grenade launcher, I go to try to suppress the launcher but that laser weapon quickly pins me down to where I can't even aim my gun.

I think 'So this is how I die, hopefully I bought enough time.' as I get ready to leap out of cover.

Suddenly more blaster sounds take the air, the weapons of that laser machine gun stops and no explosions come either, I hear footsteps coming from both sides, thinking it's a trick I brace myself with my chainaxe at the ready and I hear "Come out Adam, it's us!"

I say "Bucky!?" as I ease off and step out to see Bucky, Jenny and Bruiser.

Jenny says "When your captain said you had boarded we feared the worst, looks like we made it just in time."

I say "What about the training frigate?"

Bucky says "They cleared just before we decided to drop by."

I sigh in relief and I say "That's good news."

Jenny says "Head back to the Toad Croaker and relocate to the Righteous Indignation, we can take it from here."

I lightly shake my head and I say "I'm sorry but I'm staying here, I need to accomplish the mission."

Jenny nods in understanding though she does look a little hesitant about it.

Bucky says "Alright, we're going to split into two teams. Bruiser and I will tackle the core, Adam and Jenny try to take the bridge."

I say "Aye captain." as I ready my gear.

Jenny and I begin to make our way to the bridge, her blaster and my assault pistol making short work of the squads that come our way. We soon make it to the bridge, a guard comes at me but a quick swing of my chainaxe destroys his weapon and the whole bridge crew surrenders as we train our weapons on them. Jenny radios to Bucky that the bridge has been taken and soon the ship is ultimately ours... victory. The ship is escorted by Bucky's ship while we're on board to a nearby U.A.C. station, there the training frigate sits docked and soon both the toad ship and the Righteous Indignation join it at the docking platform. After all the p.o.w.'s are counted and all accounts are given, I hold my helmet as the captain of the frigate approaches me in front of everyone.

The captain says "Cadet, thanks to yours and Captain O'Hare's efforts we were able to get away and for that we are grateful. I have also spoken to him and his first mate about their accounts on your actions.", he salutes and he says "Congratulations, you graduate!"

I salute back and I say "Thank you sir."

The captain says "I'll have your diploma sent over.", he looks to Bucky and he says "He's all yours O'Hare."

After getting my stuff onboard the Indignation, I first of all get my suit and chainaxe clean which is a bit of a pain but I wasn't expecting anything less. I look at myself in the mirror wearing a U.A.C. uniform, it's grey-ish blue as the U.A.C. badge shows on the shoulders, I hear the bell to my quarters, I open it and I see Bucky, Jenny and Willy.

I say "Hi guys." with a friendly smile.

Bucky says "May we come in?"

I say "Yeah sure, sorry if it's a little messy I'm still putting stuff away." as I step aside.

The three enter and Bucky says "U.A.C. headquarters sent these over." as he presents me with an envelope.

I say "Thanks captain." as I carefully take and open it with a curious smile.

Inside the envelope is what looks like a few rank badges and my certificate of graduation.

Jenny eyes the badge and she says "Lance corporal? Graduated and promoted at the same time." with a proud smile.

Bucky says "Hmm, rare but not unheard of." with a slight nod.

Willy says "Bucky, it seems whenever a major accident happens you get someone added your crew."

Bucky smirks and he says "Yeah it seems it."

I say "Willy, if you don't mind me asking. How did you come to the Aniverse?"

Willy basically unloaded quite a story, he explained how he built a photon accelerator and that it somehow connected to the one onboard the Righteous Indignation and that's how he first encountered the Toads. But wait, that means....

I say "Are you able go back and forth between the two universes?"

Willy shakes his head and he says "I use to, you see the photon accelerator had to be in operation for it to work and I guess my parents shut it off... so I'm stranded here."

I think 'It was worth asking at least.'

Bucky says "We have some time before we have to deploy once more, come with us and we'll give you a tour of the rest of the ship."

I accept the invitation and the three start showing me around and while the ship looks small from the outside it has a lot of space to it. Deadeye is in the armory working on a couple of blasters, Bruiser is doing some training and Blinky is doing some maintence work in the engine room... but then there's the bridge. Part of the station is in view but the view of space takes up most of the sight and it's breath taking to say the least.

I hear Jenny "That's one thing I like about you humans, your sense of wonder." with a warm tone.

My gaze looks at the stars I can see, a distant comet comes and goes as the cold void contrasts it's stellar bodies. Space has always been mysterious and alluring, but it's just as lethal and uncaring.

I hear Bucky "Also Adam, why do you use a chaindrive axe?"

I look to him and I say "To help give me a psychological edge in combat." with a slight smile.

Meanwhile on Aldebaran, Audrey is looking at a projector that's showing news from U.A.C. as it talks about Adam's boarding of the Toad Ship and promotion.

A voice from behind her says "Impressive don't you think, master?'

Another cat moves over to Audrey, her fur is a golden brown, the suit she's wearing is teal with standard silver armor, the jewels that adorne her armor are blue while her eyes shimmer in amber and her hair is dark brown.

Audrey says "Irene?", she nods and she says "Indeed, quite the display."

Irene says "It was a good idea to have him board that ship, I wouldn't mind having a spar with him." with a light smile.

Audrey says "Hmm, could be interesting.", she looks to her apprentince and she says "Anything to report?"

Irene says "We are ready to launch at your command."

Audrey says "Exellent, then let's head out." as she gets up.

The two felines head down to the launch pad and enter their ship.

Audrey says "It's a shame that the next time we see this place, it'll be a battlefield. But it is necessary."

Irene says "But master, you said it yourself that a new sisterhood is needed."

Audrey says "Yes, I did. And it'll be easy considering we have some of the more elite elements under our belt. And after our conquest we'll assert ourselves to the top of the food chain, the U.A.C. will be begging us to destroy the Toads... and we will, for a price." with a smirk.

Irene agrees with Audrey as she takes over the helm and flies it out of the planets atmosphere.

I'm in my room getting everything furnished, so far it isn't much but it'll work just fine. I look over to my desk which has my cerificate on it, now that I'm offically part of the war... I wonder what tricks our enemy has. Based on records the U.A.C. only has total of three capable warships, all of them retrofitted.

I think for a second and crack open a sketch book I had picked up, just something I can doodle on yo pass the time. Thinking back on science fiction from Earth, I begin to do a rough sketch of a warship and the next is done more like a schematic to show weapon placement and I also list systems and equipment, but the thing is that I'm not an engineer so I can't even guess at the numbers of thrust but I do list weight and size. I can't really think of a name for the ship though it'll come sooner or later.

I hear the bell to my quarters and I say "Please come in." with a light smile.

The door opens and Jenny enters, she comes over and she says "You look pretty settled in." with a smile of her own.

I say "Yep, I'm all unpacked. I'm still not use to the confined space of a ship though."

Jenny says "You'll get use to it, it takes everyone a while to adjust.", her gaze drifts to my drawing and she says "What's that?" with curiosity.

I say "I decided to doodle a starship." keeping my smile as I hand the drawing over to her.

Jenny takes it, she says "Hmm, plasma cannons, fusion cannons, missile launchers, warp drive system, a.i. assist system... sounds like quite a craft. If it existed it would help shift things around for us." while looking it over with a light smile and she hands it back to me.

I gently take it and I say "I'm not an engineer, but if I could make it real that would be pretty cool."

Jenny says "Also, Queen Katrina and Felicia heard the good news on your sortie and they are proud of you. As am I, you have come a long way since we first met." with a smile.

I say "I'm happy that you guys are proud of me, but I think I still have a lot to learn." with a light smile.

Jenny nods and she says "You'll do fine, we've got your back." keeping her smile.

A sharp pain suddenly hits my head, almost like I just hit my head against a wall and causes me to wince, Jenny instantly grabs my shoulder and she she says "Are you okay?"

I say "Uh, yeah.... I suddenly got a headache. I'm not sure how though." as I hold onto my head.

Jenny says "Hmm, maybe it's stress. How about you lay down for a little while?" as she lifts me out of the chair.

I say "Aren't we suppose to be deploying soon?" with a curious look.

Jenny says "We still have time to prepare, but you still aren't fully use to being in space. So, please get some rest... that's an order." with a wink at the end and she's trying to suppress a giggle.

I say "Aye." with a light smile and trying to suppress a chuckle.

I simply lay down, Jenny pulls the covers on me and she leaves after wishing me a good rest, not long after that I fall asleep.

Jenny arrives on the bridge where Bucky and Willy are and she takes her position at the helm.

Bucky says "How's our new marine?"

Jenny says "He's resting, a headache hit him possibly from stress or adrenline. So I ordered him to go to bed."

Bucky says "Hmm, he seemed fine earlier."

Jenny says "He winced in pain, I honestly just thought it was some form of battle fatigue."

Bucky says "Yeah, it happens to all new recruits. But do you think him and Bruiser can handle the mission?"

Jenny says "I saw Adam in combat, he basically acts like a shock trooper and Bruiser's fighting style is the same way. I'm sure they'll complement each other well."

Bucky says "I'll join their assault just in case, elements from any available U.A.C. forces are meeting up for this assault, if it goes well, we'll have a launching point at least."
