This is a intro from my PUBLISHED book Dragon bonded. This is a copy of the rough that I had before release of the book... there is still a few errors including one name mix up. also my normal paragraphing and grammar errors! (which are in the book as well sadly)

An eternity ago the birth of the dragon bonded happened. The dragons, as mighty and formidable as the demons, began to die off. One after another the males of their species died until none remained. Uncountable centuries passed for those that remained. Forever alone knowing they are the last. So the female dragons devised a plan to save their kind from extinction. Using their near eternal youth and immortality they began experimenting with various species over countless millenia. Taking the form of one or another to crave their desires and purposes. Until one took it a step further and sacrificed her immortality and eternal youth for a mortal man she saved from death. The man soon found out the truth about her after she was discovered with child and his heart would not be swayed. He followed her to the dragon peaks where he met his end. She, when she discovered this, noticed her heart broken at his loss and died soon after laying three eggs. Each of the last females took turns roosting the eggs till they finally hatched. Each were males. One took the appearance of the father. One the appearance of the mother. The third a mix of the two. Able to stand as a man but with the looks and shapes of a dragon. The one that took the appearance of dragon was welcomed openly and poured with affection and attention. The one that took the form of man thrown from the mountain in detest. The third ignored by all but one. Who raised him as if her own. When he reached the age of maturity he knew he would never be welcome by the others so he left the mountain and wondered the world alone. Eventually he came to a land of war. In his surprise he also fell in love with another who admired his body and mind and he lived with that one till the day she died after the years of happiness passing by her and the war finally found them. Two twin children with the appearance of men emerged from the two however. On the day her body was put to rest he swore vengeance on the ones that took her from him. He returned to his first home and let his mother care for them while he fought the fight for a month. On his return he was surprised to see his son and daughter looking like he did in his youth. After much deliberation it was decided they would be accepted as them as well sense they had the appearance of dragons. Soon his brother too began becoming interested in children and there was an abundance of volunteers. To many's surprise many of those children too were like the declared dran race. None however took the form of human. However unlike the first dran's children who could shift from dran to man they can turn full dragon instead and many remained like so. Eventually loosing the ability to turn back. Feeling they were no longer welcome the human formed drans left and settled at the base of the mountain. From them venturing the world on occasion came the settlement of the dragon was formed. Those like the first to who had both human and dragon souls. Rarely did the dragons and drans communicate till an evil befell the ancient race. Demons attacked and a great war was waged and losses on each side were great. It was the drans that won them the war. In return favor was finally shown to the human formed and the dragons finally allowed affection to come to the human drans. Affection welcomed greatly.

A man in a cloak walked into the bar and sat at a distant table after ordering his drink. He places the copper coins in the waitresses hand after taking the mug. He sipped it slowly till a small group entered the bar as well. Three men and two women. “ Drinks all around. We just bagged us a fine score today.” the other patrons cheered slightly to the announcement. The female dressed in magical apparel stretched her arms wide. “ Ring me up a bath. Hot and with scents.” The cloaked man paid little attention to them. He only sipped his drink in silence and on occasion spoke to himself. His attention only being diverted by the glint of gold and only for a moment. Soon a hysterical man entered as well and screamed something about ogres. The five adventurers rushed out and saw a pair of ogres larger than the one that they slew and skinned earlier. With the town guard they began to fight it. The cloaked man only sipped his drink. “ Tasha aim for the eyes. Ox keep the small one busy while Lady Ann prepares her spells.” The large and muscular man yelled. “ Which one is the small one?” The third smaller man got on ones back and takes his blades and tried to cut it's throat but only left a scratch as he is thrown threw the window of the inn. Knocking over the cloaked mans drink. The cloaked man stood and walked out of the inn. With one hand took off his cloak revealing loosely fitting clothing and a thick bastard sword. He took it with one hand and his hand and body started to grow in size and scaly and red. “ Move out of the way mortals.” He ordered and all action stopped. The transformed man charged at the ogres and took ones head off with one swing. The other in surprise backed away to flee but was too late. The moment the sword was raised again he turned to the others in amazement. “ I killed them you can skin them. Then give me half.” Then the dragon man went back into the inn and sat on the strongest bench, which buckled to his bulk and weight, and began cleaning his blade. “ Barman spirits.” The barman hurried as he brung the small barrel. Receiving a pair of silver coins for his efforts. He drank half the spirits in one go before starting to return to his original form. When the blade was replaced on his back he got his cloak off the ground and placed it again on his back and sat where he originally did. Using the cup he used before he took the rest of the spirits out of the barrel and began drinking again slowly. Soon the leader of the band of adventurers set a bag of coins on the table beside the drink. “ What are you?” The cloaked man took the bag and shook it to listen to it's content. “ It is light.” The adventure leader sat down. “ I'm Lance. Some was took to pay for the damages to the town.” The cloak man put the bag under his cloak. “ I accept that.” He then took another drink. “ Thank you for the round earlier.” Then he continued to stare at his drink. Lance took the hint he wanting peace and left the stranger to go back to the others. “ How is Al?” Lady Ann answered him. “ I put him into a healing sleep to recover from the broken ribs. He will be fine by morning.” She they looked at the stranger. “ What manner of creature is he. That form appeared like a dragon.” The other woman said. “ He is a dran. A man that is bound to a dragon's soul. I come from a village on the outskirts of their territory. They normally keep to themselves. Why one is all the way out here is a mystery however. One only he knows the answer to.” answered Lady Ann. “ I draw my magic from a pool of power they lend those they deem worthy of trust. As those in my family before me.” The cloaked man overheard and stood and came to them. “ I am being told by Boonut that if you wish to keep those rights female it is advised you keep your mouth shut about us from now on. We honor our privacy.” He then takes the hood off. “ Me on the other hand does not care as much. If you really wish to know I am on my journey of adulthood. Or on my way home from it.” The man sits at the table with the others. “ I am Talktec. Tal for short. If Boonut appears in my voice I apologize now for his behavior. He is in a bad mood.” They all look at Lady Ann and he shakes her head. “ That damn ogre cost me a drink.” Tal then said in a broad hardened voice. “ Then getting less than wanted for their skins. Bahhh! Not worth the effort.” Then his voice returned to normal. Tal then shook his head. “ Well we will be off now. The road is long.” The cloaked man stands and exits the bar. “ Well?” Ox asked and they all look at Lady Ann. “ I've never been to their town. Very few mortals have. It is a sign of greatest respect to be invited by one. In fact he is the first I have ever encountered in their altered form.” She takes her cup. “ In truth all I really know about them are stories passed down threw my family for generations. On occasion one would have dealings with my father or brother. In acquiring fresh livestock or selling a shipment of some kind. They are mysterious. That all I can say for sure.” She then shakes her head.
