Virtually Real Chapter 63: Changes
Prowl-Ar finally has to deal with all the changes caused by the merged timelines.
Virtually Real Chapter 63: Changes
Prowl-Ar: Tiger shifter leader of the Shadow Runners.
Kyle: A quadrimorph, and Prowl-Ar’s first mate created based on Red XIII. Usually takes the form of an Eastern Dragon.
Wolf: The Ship’s doctor and Prowl-Ar’s fourth mate. A wolf shifter that is also a werewolf.
Dash: A synth in charge of taking care of the children.
Shock: A fox shifter and Prowl-Ar’s second mate.
Rider: A sabretooth shifter. Prowl-Ar’s fifth mate.
Lee: A synth created from combining Wolf’s DNA pattern with Dash.
Mahan: The Shadow Runner’s AI computer.
Frost: Prowl-Ar and Kyle’s son. An otter eastern dragon hybrid shifter.
Snowie: A Wolf Fox (Folf) hybrid shifter. Frost’s guardian and lover.
Reckah/Rekka: Snowie’s husband, a rabbit pony hybrid furry. Hasn’t committed to becoming a shifter yet. Also Frost’s guardian and lover.
Luca: Sergal scientist dedicated to drone technology and sex.
Mal: The son of Bastet pulled out of time and cursed to be Wolf’s slave.
Keb: The son of Anubis also pulled out of time and cursed to be Prowl-Ar’s slave. Doesn’t care about the slave part as long as he can be with his lover Mal.
Fenrir: The Norse wolf, son of Loki, freed from his chains by his mate Raulin. Joined the Runners rejecting the fate that was planned for him.
Raulin: The young man who tamed the great wolf.
Chiyo: A Japanese model store owner and the mother of Ryo.
Rin: Prowl-Ar, Kyle, and Shock’s adopted daughter. A lynx shifter in love with her childhood friend Ryo.
Ryo: An eastern dragon furry hopelessly devoted to Rin.
Brooke: An otter morph drone programmed to be the ship’s medic until Wolf took over.
Angela: Brooke’s furry love interest.
Silverbolt: The Furry Station AI computer based on the Transformer.
I stared out at the three alien ships. The big one at twice the size of the Runner might be intimidating to some, but I wasn't worried. I had five capital ships under my command. Plus The Bad Luck, even though he was a transport, he wasn't something to discount. I had no clue what the Kobold Yip Yap ship could do and the Halcyon probably should have stayed hidden on Earth.
"Mahan, they made a mistake saying their tech is based on my tech."
Mahan let out a very evil chuckle, but didn't say anything.
"Admiral, we have scanned your ships and we are confident we will win in a fight. However we must now add to our list of demands. The vermin infesting your moon must also be eradicated."
The ship to the right of their command ship fired a shot across the path of the command ship.
"So easy. Yeah, they made upgrades but they have no idea what I'm capable of. They don't even have an incompetent AI system. I now have full control of all three ships: Aurum, Argentum, and Platinum. I'm downloading their histories.”
“You’re keeping our people as a slave race and experimenting on them!" The Captain yelled.
"Well, I can't deny the experimentation. Though we're the ones doing most of that to ourselves. Basically our creator has finished with us and moved on to other projects." Dash replied.
"But you are being kept as slaves."
"Shock, remind me who was wearing the collar and begging to be used last night."
"DASH!" Shock yelled.
"Naughty fox, you'll pay for that later. Let's just say I'm most definitely not a slave. I'm also certainly not taking my offspring away from their fathers."
"You would use humans as a reproduction pattern?" The Commander asked in obvious disgust.
"Of course, they are my mates after all."
"You . . . They have programmed you to feel a certain way. Come to us and we will free you."
"Hah! Captain, order me to do something."
I looked at him in confusion. I understood his reasoning but what could I order that would convince anyone he didn't have to follow orders? "Dash, shut down."
"No, but you know, you really should go take a nap I can tell your energy levels are really low."
"Dash, transfer some of my energy to him." Kyle ordered.
"Wait! What! No! Dash, don't you dare. I've already warned you how dangerous that is. I tried to back away but found Fenrir was there to hold me.
"Take some of my energy as well. I've got a lot more than I really need."
"Back off fuzzy. He's carrying my cubs and you're not one of our mates!" Kyle hissed.
"Oh hush. I can take a bit from both of you with you barely noticing. Dash waved his hand and I suddenly felt well rested and ready to take on any challenge. Kyle sat down, looking winded.
"Happy now? I took more energy from you than Fenrir. It's a good thing you can do your job while seated."
"Dash, how- you shouldn't- that's not possible." I stammered.
"What? You basically told me I could transfer energy from one person to another. I just had to be careful about where I draw the energy from and the amount I draw on." Dash replied.
"You're the conduit. Even with the full gem you should have to maintain physical contact with the ones you're transferring power from and to."
"You didn't tell me that. You said If I wasn't careful I could kill everyone in the system and overload myself in doing so. If that's true then I wouldn't have to touch them, right?"
I dropped back into my own seat. It was possible Dash was now the most powerful being in existence.
"He's right, you know. Everyone else that's used a life gem or shard has limited themselves or Genesis limited them." Reaper informed me. "And for the record I exist outside of space time so, now that Dash has powered you up, as it were, I'm going to give you back the memories from the previous timeline. It isn't going to be comfortable, or easy to deal with, but I feel it is for the best. You should never have attempted a merge for a couple of months, at least, so your body and mind could solidify with the changes. Now brace yourself."
Everything was a blank for about thirty minutes if I could trust the clock. It seemed Dash had convinced the new Synths that the Synths here were quite happy with their lives. He had the screen split into multiple feeds creating a Synth council. I was kind of embarrassed that I only recognized Dash, Lee, and Ampre.
"Don't worry, I sent Lee up figuring even though he's still a child he has a unique perspective. I also took control of your body so no one would panic that you passed out. Of course that just meant that Reaper inadvertently restored my memories as well." Wolf communicated to me. I heard Reaper huff but otherwise he didn't interrupt. "My mate, I think we shouldn't share what we know about the other timeline with the rest of our mates. At least, not all at once. There are things there that they might not like."
"My mind was still a bit scrambled as things tried to fit together and overlap where needed."
"In this timeline Luca and Shock don't have a problem since Luca was never in bed with you."
It took a moment for that memory to surface. Mahan may have been a little reserved in his explanation of changes. There would be some awkward situations with the current Luca being bisexual, exclusively a top, and somewhat dominant as well.
"I don't know, thinking back on a few of the guys Luca had bragged about I think it would be funny to watch them meeting again for the first time." Wolf thought.
"Love, that isn't very nice."
"Well, I'm not happy he was in bed with you or the other him was after Rider."
"Fair point."
"What is wrong with you? Are you all degenerates?" I was pulled out of my communication with Wolf by the Synth Captain. "This is disgusting."
"Hey, we put a lot of work into those modules." Ampre stated angrily. Even if you prefer to be non-gendered you must still give birth to your offspring."
"Why would we do something so depraved? We upload our patterns to a reproduction computer. It chooses the best template match and then builds our offspring until it is ready to be raised."
"No wonder you are so stuck up. I think I speak for the council when suggesting you at least learn about the modules you think about co-opting all the synths in this system. They put a lot of work into perfecting those modules and are not likely to give them up just because you want them all to move." I interrupted.
"I had not considered that possibility. So be it. I will allow our technology experts to study these modules. For a short time."
"She cut the transmission. Should I force it open again?" Mahan asked.
"No let them do their testing." I grinned despite myself.
"You're up to something." Shock said, quietly.
"A small group of scientists experiencing the pleasure of sex for the first time. Somehow I doubt the testing will remain confined for long."
Now Dash laughed. “Even if they are able to keep them contained they'll have to be left here for the protection of their colony. Which will lead others to wonder why they would defect and need to try sex for themselves. Tiger, you can be really scary sometimes. I would never even considered turning sex into a cultural virus."
"Sex has been used as a weapon throughout the centuries. So it's nothing new. Now, while they are busy we have a few other things to deal with. Mahan, open a private line to the Yip Yap."
"Admiral! My crew stands ready at your command."
I really didn't want to admit it but the little guy was really cute. "Captain, I want you to return to your colony. These synth's want you removed from reality. Because of that I want you to stand in defense of your people. I'm also going to send one of my ships to provide back up."
The Captain preened a little thinking his ship was the first line of defense for his colony. "Yes sir!" The Yip Yap moved out of position and headed back toward the moon.
"Andromeda provide back-up to the Kobold ship."
"Back-up? Dad, are you serious?" Frost asked.
"Captain Snowie, I'm sure you will be dealing with your subordinate questioning orders later, however I will explain. We experienced a time wave that changed just about everyone, myself included, however I was able to set off a counter pulse specifically designed for such situations to protect the station. You're all on a steep learning curve to understand this new timeline. The Haro colony was also protected so everyone there is on the same page. As one last note you stole that ship from the junkyard so . . ." I left the statement hanging but Snowie nodded in understanding. If he didn't like the Kobold's orders he didn't have to obey them.
I tuned to Shock again. "Okay, now then, link me to the Halcyon."
"Admiral, we don't have time right now! This tub should not have been launched so soon."
"Mahan, will it fit in the landing bay?"
"No, well not ours."
"Understood, order the Phoenix to their aid. Halcyon, I'm sending the Phoenix to aid you. Is your hull holding?"
"Yeah, for now. Mostly it's the life support we're worried about."
"Extend your landing gear and set down in one of the two dry docks. Drones will hook up umbilicals and begin repairs."
"You're going to repair us?" The Captain asked, in surprise.
"Keep playing nice and I may add in a few upgrades to keep you space worthy. Just don't expect anything beyond current technology levels. Admiral Nightiger out."
I looked at the forces I still had standing ready for battle. "Shock, have Captain Chiyo move to defend the Haro Colony, send Bad Luck to the Phoenix in case the Halcyon crew needs medical support or the Phoenix crew needs Tuft's security support with his plasma cannon. Send the Thunderbird to protect the R2 Colony and have Archangel remain on station. Showing the Synth's we no longer see them as a real threat should play to our advantage. Dash you continue working with the council on how they actually feel about having a star system, other than Sol, to call home. I'm going to go get some rest."
"You've burned through all that energy already?" Dash asked in surprise.
"Maybe I should have said meditation. You can revive the body like that but not the mind. I'm still really mentally fatigued."
"Sorry." Dash apologized.
"What for? It's a limitation of the gem's abilities not yours. Kyle-" There was a snore from his seat. It seemed he'd given a bit too much energy. "Shock, you're in command. Let me know when the yelling starts."
"Yelling?"
"That Captain is giving a small group of scientists’ free reign to experiment with sexual gratification for the first time. How long do you think it's going to take before most of the crew on those ships are part of one big orgy and the Captain starts screaming her head off about it?"
"No bet. Even I'm smarter than that. I'm not even sure Luca would be able to survive that situation."
"Which one?"
"Huh? There’s two Lucas now? God help the universe!"
"No only one, just . . . You know what? I’ll explain later, it seems I'm more out of it than I thought."
***
I stumbled into my office and dropped on the couch; really happy it was just behind the bridge after the last upgrade. I was having more trouble than I thought dealing with the duel memories.
"Don't try to make them make sense. Just let them settle into place as they will." Wolf said, as he entered and slid into position behind me. I leaned against him and he gently rubbed my temples. "Now what is the first troubling memory?"
"It's where the two timelines split, at least for me. I'm really having trouble figuring out why."
"Okay where did the divergent timelines take place?"
"I was in the VR House program. The Evan character had been mating me and he bit me too deeply. If Kyle hadn't been there to give me a blood transfusion I'd have likely died. Sure I'd be reborn using sentinel but it is still a disturbing thought. In the old timeline the bite hadn't been as bad and I didn't meet Kyle until later."
"Okay, so that isn't a very big difference. What was next?"
"Well I wanted kids. That is another difference; in the old timeline you had to convince me to want children."
"So is it a bad thing you have four more sons? You don't regret having them do you?"
"No, well one version of me doesn't."
"And the other version does?"
I ran a hand over my belly. "That other version was waiting."
"Waiting? For what?"
"I- He hoped with his first child you would be the father."
"I still am, in a way."
I smiled. "I guess."
"So, what's next?"
"I'm not happy about having to let Vexy die."
"As I understand it, a version of him is still alive in this timeline and until we know more from our Synth friends it's probably best not to think about it. What's next?" Wolf prom-ted again.
"Frost."
"What about him?"
"He's in a rather strange relationship with Snowie and Rekka."
"What sort of relationship?"
"He’s basically their pet. It's all consensual even if he isn't yet an adult."
"Love, he’s basically 51 or 52 now. I'm sure he knows what he's doing. If he's happy then we should be happy for them. If he isn't happy Kyle will go all dragon and teach that folf a lesson he'll never forget. And when Kyles done I'll go all werewolf on Snowie's tail, just to be sure he’s learned his lesson."
"You never know he might like that." We both laughed.
"I doubt it, he's not Luca."
I froze as that bit of information ran through my mind. "Oh God that is going to be a problem."
"What is?" Wolf asked in confusion.
"The Luca of this timeline was a complete submissive bottom slut."
"Yeah, how’s that a problem?"
"In order to make sure Rin was safe I shielded the colony. That means Luca is the same as he was in the old time line." I could literally see Wolf working it out as his memories of the old timeline came to the surface
"You've got to let me be the one to tell him."
"Honey, he's the complete opposite of this time lines version."
"Please, let me be the one to tell him." Wolf begged.
"Did you know he's sneaking off to see a Brazilian diplomat?"
"Oh I bet he's a giant bear of a man. All bulging and furry."
I frowned. "Love, you're drooling."
"Pleeeese let me tell him that, even if it isn’t true." He pulled out the puppy dog look.
Centuries of careful conditioning to not break were worthless I’d let him do whatever he wanted. "What did he do to you?" I asked in an attempt to stall.
"Well, in this timeline he tried to convince Rider to sleep with him. He told you that you just weren't manly enough for his tastes so you didn't have anything to worry about, and finally the current version from the old timeline once tried to take advantage of you."
"What?" It only took a moment for the memory to surface of waking up to find Luca in my bed. "Fine. You get to tell him. But don't go too far. We don't want to break him.”
"What about the diplomat? Probably best I know the truth first."
I let the memories surface. "We were at a United Nations meeting. They were discussing Mars independence, the kobold colony, and synth population. I'd brought Luca with me along with Ampre to show that just because they were synthetic and didn't look human didn't make them any different. We chose not to take a Kobold since, until just today they seemed to be struggling to form some sort of government. The Brazilian Ambassador seemed interested in Luca, at first, but seemed to lose interest once it became obvious Luca wasn't interested. He- he seems to be exactly the same in both timelines. Meaning if Luca wanted he could initiate a relationship with him and have the advantage of knowing exactly what the guy likes. He could also correct his own actions if he ever tried to go too far." I laughed, "Wait, it's Luca, of course he would have pushed things too far at some point. No matter which version of him it is."
"So do I get to tell him?"
He had shifted and was giving me puppy dog eyes in wolf form this time. "Fine, but don't mentally break him. There is only so much a councilor can do for him when they're trying to listen from between his legs sucking him off."
"I'll try, but no promises." Wolf winked.
I groaned as Wolf used my own line against me.
"Admiral, you'd better get in here something is happening." Shock interrupted.
"Maybe we should deal with this crisis first. Are you feeling up to it?" Wolf asked.
"Oh I feel up for a lot of things, but let’s deal with the Synth crisis first."
Wolf smirked at me as we headed for the bridge. "You'd better not forget I'm looking forward to a double burger."
"What?" I asked in confusion.
"You and I sandwiched between our two slaves."
I stumbled onto the bridge looking back at Wolf in embarrassment.
"Just remember your promises."
***
"Shock, I don't hear any yelling."
"Any second now." He reported.
"Why are you so sure of that?" I asked.
"You know, it isn't wise to trust in locks when the enemy AI has control of your ship. It is also unwise to post guards that might be curious about the enthusiastic sounds the scientists testing sex toys are making. Now something you have to remember about Synths is they don’t require air. Meaning they can easily jump between ships. Let me tell you there has been a lot of activity between those three ships." Mahan said, smugly.
"And the Captain isn't yelling yet?"
"Urgent message from the Argentum." Shock reported.
"Put it through." I ordered.
"Admiral Nightiger, this is Captain Bolt, requesting release from your control. I'd like to return to the colonies with our discoveries here before Commander Spar can order us to self-destruct for the greater good."
"Mahan what is your assessment?" I asked.
"If you're asking whether or not Captain Bolt has tested the new modules, they have. In fact they are currently the same as you, Wolf, Shock, and Dash."
I glanced at Shock in surprise. No! I'd explore those memories later. "Move them away from the others and then let them jump. Shock, inform the Archangel we're letting that one go."
"Way ahead of you, Admiral. Incoming transmission from the Platinum. I'm betting it's the yelling you've been expecting."
"Put her onscreen but keep her muted until she runs out of explicative and starts to actually say something of value."
We waited. Then waited some more.
"She has a limited vocabulary but is rather inventive." Shock reported.
"Dash, would you get me a cup from the matter generator, please. Just an empty cup."
He laughed. "We're muted as well then?"
"Of course, my big sexy metal mate." Shock said, grinning in the way only a fox can.
I silently groaned to myself. Wondering if that's what I sounded like talking to Wolf and Kyle.
"Yes, and you're just as sexy as Dash." Wolf said telepathically.
"I'm 'accidentally' shutting down the mute so she can hear us. If we're going to antagonize her, Dash wants to do it properly." Shock thought to all of us.
"Master Prowl-Ar, your chocolate milk. Master Jordan, your hot chocolate." He quickly mentally reminded us not to thank him as he served us. He returned to the generator and then took a large stein to Fenrir. "Lord Fenrir, your mead. I made sure the limiter was off so it's just the way you like it." Again back to the generator. He returned with a small tea cup He gave a little wave at Fenrir, who was downing a rather large gulp and directed it toward Kyle. "Master Kyle, a cup of green tea to refresh you."
"Oh! That’s just what I n-needed." Kyle said, over dramatically as he woke up.
From the stutter I could tell Dash had told him not to thank him.
"What the hell's going on?" His voice rang in my head.
"You gave me a bit too much energy and passed out. Dash just stole a bit from Fenrir to revive you. Currently we're antagonizing the Synth commander by pretending to treat Dash as our servant." I informed him.
"I'll have you know I gave Dash permission to use a bit of my energy to revive Kyle. This mead isn't bad, not as good as what Tank slips in but . . . Did I just say that to everyone? Oh, I hope not." Fenrir communicated to us.
"I think I'm going to be talking to Tank after this crisis has been taken care of."
Fenrir mentally groaned.
"Shock, my sexy little fox, I thought you'd like a bit of attention rather than a drink."
We all stared as Dash knelt down behind the console and a moment later started bobbing his head up and down. We, well most of us could see it was just an act but Shock's surprise and then suppressed laughter certainly made it look real. And I was certain Mahan was transmitting from the best angle.
"Shock, I really should reprimand the both of you for such actions on the bridge. Fortunately with the Admiral present it's his problem." Kyle said, before taking a dainty sip of tea.
"Shock make sure we are muted again." I though.
"Done, but-"
"Mahan, transfer all functions from my control board to Kyle's and shut mine down."
"I've done so. What are you up too?"
"Jordan can you assist me with something?"
He stood up placing his cup aside. "You’re up to something."
As he stepped close I gently grabbed his hips and sat him on my control board. His pants front opened easily and he gasped as I ran my tongue over his balls.
"Oh for the love of god." Kyle said, in exasperation.
"Hey, I have nothing to do with that." Fenrir defended himself.
"Hey! That's not fair. We were only acting." Shock yelled.
"If they get to do that then I say we up our game." Dash said.
Shock yipped and diverted my attention just long enough to see he was now bouncing on Dash's lap.
"This is getting out of hand." Kyle stated.
"Well if they're going to have fun then how about we give each other a hand while we watch?" I heard Rider ask.
"Mahan, does this mean I'm Captain while they're busy?" Fenrir asked.
"It does seem that way, Captain Fenrir."
"Ah, Thor's shit. That means I probably shouldn't be drinking then?"
"That would be a wise decision."
Transfer communications to my headset. I think I'd be better listening to synth swearing than the crew fucking."
***
I looked into Jordan's eyes as he smiled and wiped seed off my cheek. "It seems I've made a mess of daddy tiger."
"I'm not complaining."
"Eh hem. If you've finished can I be relived now?" Fenrir asked.
"Is that a request?" Jordan asked, grinning at the other wolf.
Fenrir glared back. "Let me clarify, may I go and find my mate so I can find release now?"
"Yes, go already. You could have gone at any time. You don't have to be on the bridge to be in command. Once you found Raulin you could have told Nature to take command. Mahan should have told you that."
"MAHAN!" Fenrir yelled.
"What? It's gotten some what boring only torturing the Admiral. I thought I’d try having a bit of fun with the rest of you as well."
Fenrir stormed off the bridge.
"Mahan. That wasn't very nice." Wolf growled.
"Tough, I'm not feeling nice right now. You just have to deal with two sets of memories I have to deal with a whole crews worth. Maybe once I've sorted them all out and chosen the ones I like I'll be nicer, but don't bet on it. And while we're at it I'm very unhappy about the mess you've made."
I glanced around and noticed Kyle and Rider were missing while Dash and Shock were still going at it. "It doesn't look that bad. We confined most of it to each other's bodies."
"You can't see at the microscopic level."
I ignored Mahan and looked at Wolf. "That probably wasn't very smart."
He grinned at me. "I'm not complaining."
"Unfortunately we still have things to deal with."
"Always the saving the universe with you."
"Would you want me any other way?"
He looked like he was carefully considering his response. It actually scared me a bit. "My darling, I'd want you no matter what."
I pulled him close burying my face in his furry chest to keep him from seeing how close to crying I was.
"Before you two start up again, and I have to send a drone in to suppress your urges; how about doing your job."
Wolf sighed and moved to Kyle's seat. Once he sat down he didn't look happy. "Remind me to speak with our mates about having the decency to at least wipe up after themselves. The seat is sticky."
"I told you so." Mahan mocked.
"Report current situation. The Aurum pulled back and requested permission to follow the Argentum home, I allowed them to go. The Halcyon is in a greater state of disrepair than reported. It's a wonder it made it out of the atmosphere. No troubles though. Seems everyone knows better than to test Tuft's patience. Everyone else is holding at combat readiness."
“Have Chiyo go ahead and dock the Albion at the colony and stand down. Probably a good idea to have a combat ready ship at each of the colonies anyway. Have her start building a crew as well. Thunderbird is to remain but can stand down from combat readiness for the time being. Mahan, what is Angela's job on the colony?"
"Please specify."
"Brooke's Angela."
"Lead mechanic, now specializing in micro-gravity mechanics. Basically she pilots a mini drone around the outside of the colony making repairs along with R2's drones and the Synths."
"Upgrade her status to Captain and give her a list of appropriate sized ships that fit the colony's theme to choose from. Oh, and Open an internal line to Brooke."
"What do you want? Your children are safe in Nature's paws and I'd really-"
"Brooke, I'm giving Angela command of a ship to defend the R2 colony. Of course you will be the ship's primary medic. Is that Okay with you? Or should I try to find someone else? I won't blame you if you want a more settled life as simple citizens."
"No! That's perfect! I mean that is an acceptable idea. When should I plan on transferring?"
"Can you take a shuttle to the colony now? If not I might be able to get someone to-"
"I'm downloading simple piloting programs now."
"Very well, I'll let you inform Angela of the new job. Contact Mahan when you're ready to start considering ships. I wish you happiness."
"Thank you, Sir."
Wolf grinned at me. I didn't have to read his mind to know he was thinking how soft and sweet I really was deep down. "Mahan, let The Yip Yap know they can stand down and return to the colony. They acted courageously in the face of overwhelming odds and should be proud of their actions even though there was no fighting. Also open a line to Snowie . . ." I sat silently as the current timeline memories assaulted me.
"Admiral? Do you have orders for us?" Snowie asked.
I couldn't speak.
"Snowie, do you know what happened?" Wolf asked.
"Yeah, the colonies were attacked."
"Before that."
"Silverbolt mentioned something about a time event and how some things might have changed but we'd been protected. Why, did something change for you?"
"Snowie, The Runner wasn't protected. We basically came through alright, though Frost is going to need to get used to the idea he has an additional four older brothers. Anyway, thanks to Reaper, Prowl-Ar and I have all or most of our memories from both timelines."
"Okay. So what is the problem?"
"I'm not sure there is a good way to put this." Wolf said quietly.
"You're dead. You and Rekka anyway and Frost . . . well we're going to need to talk about it a lot more. Right now I want you to return the Andromeda to the junkyard and choose a smaller ship, something more suited to being docked at the station full time but available for launch at a moment’s notice. Then you can stand down. I'd suggest you contact your relatives and let them know that . . . Well you know."
"That we were dead but we got better? That's going to be a fun conversation. At least choosing another ship will be easy."
“One other thing; Frost, don't mention Snowie and Rekka being alive to Kyle. The consequences would be bad. Very bad."
"Dad, what happened in this timeline?"
"Just go make an updated memory crystal. That's an order. Snowie, make sure he does it. And I mean watch him to make sure it actually gets uploaded to Mahan. Again, that's an order."
"Oh. I- oh." Frost said quietly. "I think I know why I shouldn't contact daddy Kyle now."
"Frost, isn’t there something you need to tell us?"
"Rekka, that is a topic I'm forbidding you and Snowie from asking about. That is something that you just need to wait until Frost is ready to talk about it and it is possible he'll never be ready. Maybe we'll discuss it after I've had time to speak with Kyle. Now go get your new ship. Prowl-Ar out."
"You didn't fully explain." Wolf said sadly.
"I know. I'm sure they might figure it out eventually."
"Are you really going to let Frost stay with them?" Shock asked. He and Dash had stopped and they just stared at me.
"The situation isn't the same."
"Frost killed himself because of those two. You can't tell me it isn't the same!" Shock yelled.
"They're not the same. This version of Frost is stronger and Rekka loves him just as much as Snowie."
"You can't know that for sure."
"Okay, maybe you're right. But first we have to break the news to Kyle, and keep him from killing them to protect Frost's future, before we all have a civilized talk about how they really feel and about how this timelines versions of them acted."
"Okay, I can agree to that much. Even if we can bring them back now I'd rather see Kyle let the guilt of forcing Snowie to kill himself go. And I certainly don't want to see the guilt he'd carry if he actually killed them himself." Shock said quietly.
"Kill who?" Kyle asked as he and Rider re-entered the bridge.
"The two of you if you don't go get cleaning supplies and deal with this mess." Wolf growled, as he stood up with a nasty sound coming from the seat. "Once they get back you two go get cleaned up and then it's your turn to clean your area." He said pointing at Shock and Dash.
"What about you two?" Dash asked.
Wolf smirked, "We were able to keep our 'mess' on or in each other and not the surrounding equipment. However, I'm going to go get cleaned up now and the Admiral can go after you two."
I grinned. "Yes sir, Commodore, Sir."
"That'll be enough sarcasm from you. Now it's probably time to check if the Synth commander is ready to talk."
"Yeah, you're probably right. This is going to be one of those really long days."
***
"Please, stop them." The Synth Commander was basically balled up at her console. If she'd had the ability to cry I was sure she would be.
"Mahan?" I growled.
"Oh don't worry they're perfectly safe. I’ve isolated any crew members that didn't want to be upgraded and the crew members that want to forcibly upgrade everyone."
"Commander, first I need to apologize. I've been thinking of you as female due to your color. That was a failing on my part as technically, it seems, you likely consider yourselves a genderless society. I'm sorry. Second I should inform you while my computer is controlling your ship you are perfectly safe. Forcing you to be someone and something you don't want to be is not what my nation stands for."
"All we came here for was to rescue our brethren."
"You also demanded the scientists involved."
"We didn't want more of our people to be enslaved. By taking them with us we-"
"Would be abducting my daughter; my offspring. Do you think I acted out of line in stopping you?"
"No. We may not be biological but we do love our offspring the same as you. I- I would likely have acted far worse than you did if any of my offspring were threatened."
"Commander, I know this probably isn't the best time, but could you tell us what happened to our friends Vexy, Kohan, and their kobolds?" I asked.
"It is hard to be sure what happened for certain. From the records we know that one of our own and the three kobolds had been in the engine room. Some sort of chain reaction took place causing the ship to travel back in time in your measurement 10,463 years, four months-"
"I don't need the exact time." I interrupted. Knowing specifics would be too much of a temptation to change things.
"Of course. The rear most quarter of the ship ceased to exist. According to the ancestors Vexy lived nearly a thousand years with Kohan. It wasn't easy but they spent much of their time in a virtual world. When Vexy died Kohan seemingly vanished. The ancestors found his remains hooked to a machine that we have not figured out how to use after all this time. But it did have a data crystal in it."
"Kohan must have been gravely injured, created a memory crystal, and hooked it into the ships projector system so that Vexy wouldn't be alone. I take back every bad thought I had about that otter.” Shock said quietly.
"Our ancestors had hoped to have a colony built before hand but that was a tall order even for two of our kind. We- we did bring their remains with us so that they could be interred in whatever way your kind sees fit."
"Thank you. I know we haven't started off well, but I as unwilling leader of the Furry Nation, I recognize the Alpha Centauri System as an independent Synth Nation and I hope we will eventually be able to work out a mutually beneficial relationship."
"You'll need to eradicate the Kobold infestation first."
I sighed, "Why do you have a problem with the kobolds? It seems to me, if it wasn't for Vexy's trio your society wouldn't exist."
"It is how it has always been. The first rule has always been the eradication of Kobold infestations."
"It's probably because the two species are opposites. Both created by humans one mechanical the other biological. Synths are science, logic, and observation. Kobolds are fighting, sex, and poke it until it moves and then poke it harder." Kyle pointed out as he carefully wiped down his inactive console.
"That is a possibility." The Captain conceded.
"Is it also possible your ancestors were scared Raid, Legend, and Shadow might reappear some day with the engine section of the ship? If that ever happened your society would likely have to accept that it was the lost Synth that caused the time anomaly rather than the kobolds. I know the engine systems well enough that there is no way the kobolds could have done anything to create a time anomaly to form."
"I- you have given me a lot to think about. Will you return control of my ship to me?"
"Wait! Commander, the Synth council would like to send a delegation back with you to learn what life would be like if some of us decide to immigrate." Dash interrupted.
"I suppose. . . I mean if I return with even a few of our brethren I can claim the mission wasn't a complete failure."
"I'll leave you in Dash's capable hands then." I said, feeling that the crisis had been resolved as best it could have been.
"Admiral, one more thing, just because we are gender neutral doesn't mean we don't understand the concept. You were right in that I do identify as female."
I smiled and nodded Gods I hoped there wasn't any more problems going to come up until I'd had time to-"
"Tiger, go get cleaned up and then get some sleep." Wolf said, as he returned.
"I can't, at least not yet. I still have a promise to keep."
"And we can do that after you've rested." I don’t want you passing out in the middle.
"Not that." I just visualized removing two gold cages rather than trying to explain.
"Oh, yeah I suppose you could do that first. Just remind those two they need to use plenty of lube."
"I'll remember, Good night my love."
He glance at me as he sat in my chair. "Bone nuit mon cheri." He thought.
As the lift door was shutting I heard Kyle yell, "You see that! Admiral Wolf's in charge. No blaming me if anything goes wrong!"
***
"Good morning, Master."
I stiffened and then relaxed. I was cuddled against Mal. "Um, why are you in bed with me?"
"Master Jordan said you don't like waking up alone. I'm sorry I don't completely understand everyone or remember all your strange names, but the serpent god needed to remain in charge. The metal one was talking to those like himself in the magic reflecting frame. The small fluffy one needed to clean and Master Jordan needed to take Keb in order to make it so he could understand everything about this realm. He ordered me to stay with you, since you would be in charge of my training. Though I don't understand since I am Master Jordan's slave and Keb is yours."
"I guess this is as good a time as any. Mal, I need you to remain calm. You are completely safe. I'm not going to hurt you."
"What do you mean?"
I shifted and he yowled; his fur standing on end and his claws sinking into my arm. "I told you we're not gods we just have the ability to change our forms." I shifted back to human form "It's just I’ve spent so long as a human this is my default form. What Jordan is doing is giving Keb the ability to change into a human as well. Because they both have dog like forms it is easier that way. We are felines so that's why I'll be the one overseeing your transformation."
"You've suffered a lot haven't you?" Mal asked a touch of sadness in his voice.
"What do you mean?"
He ran his paw over my chest tracing out all the scars. "Many of these look like they should have been mortal wounds."
I looked down at myself. "Many of them would have been if not for the rapid healing we are gifted with. Unfortunately the thing that lets us heal isn't advanced enough to erase scar . . ." That wasn't right. All my scars other than my mating marks had been erased and I had to specially program the nanites to keep them. "This timeline's nanites aren't as advanced." I muttered.
"What does that mean? I don't understand."
"It means something I wanted to put off has to happen before the timeline fully sets. Mahan, Approximate time before full temporal wave effect dissipation?"
"Full particle decay in eight hours, twelve minutes."
Time until Wolf has completed with Keb?"
"Six hours, though it seems with the time change the link between your slaves is interchangeable."
"Got it. I need to speak with Fenrir and Rider immediately."
"I will summon them to your office."
"Come on Mal, we don't have a lot of time."
When I got to the office they were both waiting, mall moved to one corner out of the way.
"I'm guessing that you've discovered something bad from the other timeline about us?" Rider asked.
"Not about me. I have full memories from both. I'm a God and the change had no effect on Raulin or myself." Fenrir stated.
"So what is it? Was I a sex crazed bottom like Luca? Or maybe I didn't even exist." Rider asked.
"Rider, this isn't about you. Don't take this the wrong way but the only difference was that you used to have neon pink fur."
"What?" He yelled in surprise.
Fenrir doubled over in laughter.
"I'm joking, as far as I can tell you were lucky enough to survive almost completely unchanged."
"Almost. That means something is different."
"Yeah, in the old timeline you and Leon didn't have your little 'meet ups' in the restroom you two modified."
"Oh, you know about that?" He replied in embarrassment.
I rolled my eyes, "We all know about that. Every member of the crew has topped you at least once in human form. It’s fine we all still see you the same way you just like experiencing something different from time to time.”
"Ah, why didn't that happen in the other timeline?"
I bit my lip. "It may have, I just didn’t know about it, also because Leon didn't exist in that timeline."
"Oh. Tiger, I'm so sorry." Rider said pulling me into a hug. “I know how much you love all your cubs.”
"It's okay. We're in this timeline now and I'm not going to try and change things back."
"I think you need to tell us why we're here." Fenrir reminded me.
"Our healing nanites are honestly, rubbish tech compared to the other timeline."
"So? You have your memories just program new ones." Rider said.
"It's not that easy. They are cultured from the previous generation. It'll take a couple hundred years to get them up to speed, unless we have a pure sample from the other timeline."
"The station was fully shielded so you're going to harvest some nanites from Frost." Rider said, smiling as he figured out exactly what I was up to.
"That's why I need you two."
"I don't understand." Rider replied.
"I do. He needs us to restrain Kyle." Fenrir answered.
"Why would we . . . Snowie was still alive on the station in the other timeline, wasn't he? I didn’t even think about it when you were issuing commands, but he was the Captain of one of the ships as well. Tiger, how can you trust him after what happened."
"Because Snowie, Rekka, and Frost were, or are, all still together. They don’t exactly have the same relationship and background as the ones from this new timeline."
"Kyle is still going to lose it." Rider replied.
"That's what we need to avoid. This version isn't like the ones we knew. Frost has experienced more and both Rekka and Snowie love him. Unlike this time Rekka doesn't resent moving to the station or Frost. In fact He may be more protective than Snowie. They both chose to move to the station to protect our little otter even if none of us knew they were doing so. There is a lot more history between all of them than even my memories of both timelines includes. However if Kyle attacks them I honestly believe Frost will protect them."
"A fight between Frost and Kyle? That would be very bad." Rider agreed.
"I'm glad we're on the same page. Mahan, ask Kyle to join us."
It only took moments for Kyle to arrive but it was still enough time for Mal to slip out the door at the back. It was obvious Kyle scared him.
"So, I'm guessing it's my turn to learn what's changed about me." Kyle said, as he entered. He sat in the seat in front of my desk.
"In a manner of speaking."
"Okay, I'm ready for anything."
"The station was fully shielded so Frost is the version from the other timeline."
"What does that mean exactly?" Kyle asked quietly.
"For one he's stronger and for another he never, let's say, reset himself."
"You mean he went through all that crap with those two assholes and came out stronger? That is good news." He stopped and looked at me suddenly. Rider and Fenrir put a paw on each of his shoulders. "What are you hiding?"
"Frost didn't reset himself because he didn't feel the need to."
"You're saying one of them is still alive. Aren't you?"
"No."
Kyle visibly relaxed.
"All three are alive and in a stable relationship."
"WHAT?" Kyle roared standing up even with Rider and Fenrir trying to hold him down.
"Sit down." I yelled, as I also stood. "You-". Suddenly I understood why the redesign included a bathroom connected to my office.
I stumbled out some time later still feeling like I'd been punched . . . No, kicked in the guts. "Kyle, are you or Wolf in charge of my diet?"
"What?" Kyle asked, in confusion.
“I just emptied the contents of my stomach, where one of your little hell spawns decided to kick me, and all that came up was bile. Now I really want to believe it’s just that they’re being extra active because they’re hungry and not reacting to how angry I was getting. Now I'll be honest with you Reaper restored my memories from the other timeline so I'm not at my best right now at remembering things. Especially considering I wasn't pregnant in that timeline, but I can't remember the last time I ate anything in either timeline. That can't be good for the babies."
"You said you had things under control! Jordan is going to be pissed." Kyle yelled. "Sorry! I didn't mean to yell like that. I'll make you something-"
"I'll have a nutrient shake on the way. It tastes horrible but it is formulated to enter the system rapidly and it’ll have everything the cubs need. I'll eat when we get back."
"Where are we going?" Kyle asked suspiciously.
"I need to get a healing nanite culture from Frost. Because the Station was fully shielded they are the versions from the other timeline. A timeline where the healing nanites are much more advanced. However as the timelines stabilize they will begin to degrade. If we get the culture and use it to upgrade our existing nanites then we save the tech."
"You weren't going to tell me about Snowie and Rekka, were you? You were just going to leave me not knowing for as long as possible if this hadn't come up, weren't you?"
"Yes."
"Yes? That's all you have to say?" Kyle hissed.
"Basically; you didn't expect me to lie did you? These three have been together a lot longer than you realize. I'm not saying you have to talk to them just yet, but maybe get a memory download from a crystal from the other timeline."
"Wait, that's possible?" Rider interrupted.
"Yes since they are stored in an area of a spatial anomaly. Just- actually, Mahan lock Shock out of downloading memories from the old timeline."
"Tiger, what happened to Shock?" Kyle asked.
"Let's just say his childhood there was much worse than here."
"He was beaten and forced to give up an organ to save his step brother, how much worse-".
"Raped and his step brother didn't survive in the other timeline."
"Oh. Oh poor foxy. No one should have to-". Rider said quietly.
"Exactly." I mumbled.
"I- I'll stay here. As much as I want to see Frost, I think you might be right that I need more time before confronting the other two."
"I can respect that. For the record Frost enjoys following their orders. Wait, let me finish. I ordered Snowie to make sure Frost immediately made a new memory crystal. This version won't be resetting himself like our version did."
"Are you sure he did it?" Kyle asked.
"The information was uploaded and recorded within half an hour of the order." Mahan replied I’ve made sure all back-ups are of that crystal. I did keep a single one from this timeline should he ask for downloads of his time with his brothers but I will not allow him to access any memories of certain events.
"Okay, that . . . that is probably more than I could ask for. Tiger, make sure to let Frost know I love him, no matter what. Also I want you to hurry back. I'll have a healthy meal ready for you."
I smiled, "What would I do without you?"
"Suffer with Wolf up here force feeding you most likely."
"He wouldn't-"
"Want to take bets?" Kyle asked, a little too quickly for comfort.
"No.” I knew that he was right. “Fenrir and Rider, let's go Mal's waiting for us in the hallway."
***
I let Rider pilot the shuttle. It was embarrassing enough I shut down the gravity so I could float up to the cockpit. I had the nutrition drink and the babies had settled slightly but they were still kicking. I'd broken into the emergency rations and pulled out some soda crackers. It was amazing what the mind dredged up from the ancient past. Both my grandmother and mother had sworn the crackers helped settle the stomach during pregnancy. I never thought I'd need that information for myself.
"Another? Perhaps with a little honey or soft cheese?" Mal asked.
"No, not yet."
We dropped out of altered space and I rolled my eyes at the bright red ship docked to the station. Obviously Snowie didn't understand what "fitting the station's aesthetic" meant. I expected something like the Defiant, not the Outlaw Star.
"Shadow Runner Shuttle, please state your business."
"This is Lord Nightiger. I'm here to talk with Frost and his companions."
"Is Kyle with you?"
"No, he is still aboard the Runner."
"Are you sure? We've been warned that crew members’ lives may be in jeopardy if we allow him aboard."
"Query the Runner directly. I've only got Rider, Fenrir, and Mal with me."
"Please update us on Fenrir and Mal, please."
"Transmitting Fenrir's information now. Mal is too new a member to have documentation yet." Rider replied.
"We're receiving limited update on him from the Runner. You're cleared to land."
"Thank you control. Can you please have Frost, Snowie, and Rekka meet us near the landing bay? I'm not comfortable making the Captain make a long walk right now.” Rider insisted.
“Oh and if anyone happens to have a jar of real pickles and maybe a couple of cans of sardines I wouldn’t be opposed to granting a favor or two." I yelled.
"Cancel that last bit about the food. I'm not having Wolf yelling at me for allowing you to eat something like that." Rider stated, as the shuttle set down.
"Don't blame me. It's got to be what the babies want. I don't even like sardines."
"Have another cracker." Mal insisted.
I took one from him and crunched it loudly while glaring at Rider.
"Now do I need to turn off-"?
I grabbed my pack and slid down the ladder to the shuttle's bay. Impatiently hitting the ramp open button several times as the dock pressurized. Once the metal hit the deck I was knocked off my feet by a noodle missile.
"Dad! You're okay! When you said things had changed I thought maybe you meant you had changed as well."
"Frost! Be careful! You might hurt the babies acting that way!" Rider yelled."
"Babies?" Frost asked in surprise.
I grabbed his paw and placed it against my belly. Almost on que one of them kicked. "That's right, you're going to be a big brother, again."
"You mean half-brother."
I grinned, "Not this time. Kyle is the father of two of them that makes them your full brothers."
"Two? How many . . ."
"Just three, two of Kyles and one of Wolf's."
Frost hugged me. "I was afraid what happened only caused everything to be bad."
"Well, a lot has changed, and not all of it has been good." I had the nanites open up the top of my uniform showing all the scars. "It seems the nanite healing tech isn't as advanced in this new timeline. Since you were shielded I need to get a sample from you and then get it back to Mahan for immediate synthesis."
"Um." Frost glanced down at his full body latex suit. "You're going to have to ask-"
"Hold out your arm."
He immediately held it out. "Dad, Snowie and Rekcah are the only ones-".
I circled his bicep with my index finger and the latex pulled back to that point.
"You think I wouldn't have a built in failsafe?" I quickly took the blood sample and released his arm. The latex immediately recovered the exposed area. "Rider, you and Fenrir get this back to the Runner as quickly as possible. Mahan will instruct you from there."
"What about you?" Fenrir asked.
"I'll be fine here. Plus I have Mal to protect me. Come on Frost, let's clear the bay so Daddy Rider and Uncle Fenrir can get those nanites back to the Runner."
"My Lord, not that I am complaining but shouldn't you put your clothes back on?" Mal asked.
"I don't know you, but you didn't have to spoil it." Frost muttered, as my top returned and we left the bay.
***
By the time we reached the conference room I was ready to kill both Mal and Frost. "Both of you, enough! I'm not so pregnant I can't walk down a hallway unassisted."
The door opened and I cringed. It wasn't a meeting room. It was obviously VIP quarters. I didn't complain. Instead I moved over to the couch and sat down. The next thing I knew Frost was providing pillows and Mal had somehow figured out a way to remove my boots and massage my feet. I wanted to yell again, but it just felt so relaxing.
"Okay, we know you have a lot to tell us but let's get the important thing out of the way."
I jumped a little at Snowie’s words. "Yeah, about how you’re dead in this-"
"No, not that. How do I activate the sub-ether drive on the Star and do I need-"? Snowie said, jumping right to wanting information about his new ship.
"It's a modified replica. There is no such drive. It uses a standard Freem engine, well four of them actually, to jump to altered space. It has a limited merge system for grappler combat but no android computer system."
"Oh, okay then. Let’s talk about our being dead." Snowie said, smirking.
“First off I need you to know that I changed to fit this timeline, however Reaper overlaid my memories from your timeline so those are the memories at the surface right now. I and everyone on the Runner is also a bit out of sorts." I paused wondering if I should tell them the next part. I figured it likely wouldn't hurt for them to know. "The Runner has a certain amount of low level protection. When I say low level I mean maybe ten percent max. Ordinarily I should have had time to create a time pocket around the ship, like I did for you, But things were happening so fast that I didn't have time to think."
"What about Rin?" Frost asked.
"Even though I wasn't able to get the shield to full power it seems she was as protected as you were. Now some changes you need to know about. You already know I'm pregnant, well Papa Wolf is also having one more cub than we expected. Also it seems I had four children before you."
"So who is the fourth? Nature, Tye, Trace and?"
"No I mean four more besides them. A lion named Leon, a dragon named Zephyr, a rabbit named Taro, and a thylacine named Erik. Plus they likely all have memories of helping raise you so go easy on them."
"So where are you going to start?" Rekka asked.
"What I do know is that you and Snowie split up. As I said my memory isn't the best but it seemed the main problem was you resented having to move to the station to begin with and adding Frost to the mix only made things worse. You and Snowie decided to spend some time apart and you moved to the R2 colony. There was an accident, I'm not sure of the details but several people were killed including you."
"But if he died on the colony . . ." Snowie started.
"You were both on the station and shielded when time changed. Basically you're from a different universe. Anyway, after Rekka died Snowie became deeply depressed."
Snowie glanced at Rekka. "Yeah, we may have our differences at times but I love him completely."
"Anyway, you were so depressed that you retreated from the world not wanting to talk to anyone including Frost. This made Frost feel that it was all his fault that your life fell apart so he removed himself from it."
"What do you mean?" Rekka asked.
"Since Dad forced me to make a new memory crystal, it's likely I reset, I mean killed myself. Then when they brought me back with an old crystal I had no memory of you two. I knew it might go badly with all of us and-"
"No! Frost, no matter what happens between Snowie and I, never think for a single moment that either of us don't love you. We'd never want you to harm yourself." Rekka practically growled.
"Anyway you, well you weren't our Frost anymore. Kyle thinks even though we brought you back your spirit died and Reaper was mute on the subject. Infuriated Kyle came to find Snowie. Now I don't know if it was the depression, or fear of what Kyle had planned for you, but you went outside for a walk. Kyle wanted to bring you back, but I wouldn't let him. I'll be honest I could have brought you both back but . . . Okay I was as upset by what happened to Frost as Kyle was. So it was partly my fault.”
"Is there anything else we should know?" Rekka asked.
“There are some small things that may come up later but that's the biggest things. I don't envy you having to try and convince your families back on Earth you're actually alive."
"Yeah, that wasn't an easy conversation at all and I'm not sure if they believed us or not. We may have to physically go down and visit them to prove we’re still alive and our marriage is still intact. Now, this might just be an oversite, but who is your black cat? Is he also a new mate from this new timeline?"
"I'm Master Jordan's slave, Malhoket. My mate, Master Prowl-Ar's slave Kebohtet, is attending to Master Jordan so I am here with Master Prowl-Ar."
I could tell all three of them had questions but every time they looked like they would ask they would look confused. "Mal is the son of the Goddess Bastet and Mal is the son of Anubis. Jordan and I was introducing them to the crew when the time wave hit."
"Slave?" Snowie finally got out.
"Yeah, for now. I’m not happy about it but there doesn’t seem to be much Wolf and I can do to free them.” I showed them the mark on my shoulder and Mal was quick to do the same. "It seems we're cursed so we have to remain close to each other whether we like it or not."
"You don't like me master?" Mal asked quietly.
"I'd like you more as a friend or brother than as a slave, but don't ever thing we don't like you." I said, pulling the cat into a hug.
"Careful, that's how you end up with more mates." Snowie taunted.
"No, not this time. Mal already has a mate he loves very much."
"Master Prowl-Ar, there is a distinguished visitor at the door." Silverbolt informed us.
"That's probably Rider coming to collect us." I said, not expecting them to return quite so quickly.
"It is Lord Kyle, master Prowl-Ar. It seems he was able to land using stealth and override codes." Silverbolt responded.
"Gods! I told him to stay on the Runner!" This was something I didn't want to deal with; ever if possible.
***
We sat on opposite sides of the room in silence. Kyle had come in and insisted that he had no intention of harming anyone, but he still needed to talk. So we all just sat there waiting.
"Well, I guess the first thing I need to say is I'm not angry at any of you." Kyle finally said.
"Oh really?" Rekka practically yelled. "If I understand Prowl-Ar correctly you may as well have killed Snowie!"
"Yes, and I would have if I'd caught him. I'm not denying that. However, none of you are those individuals. I got Mahan to download my memories from the other timeline. At least all the ones involving you three. He refused to allow any other memories saying an individual's mind can't take that many conflicting memories without breaking." Kyle glared at me.
"He's probably not wrong. Remember I've got Reaper holding me together and even then I feel like I’m on the edge of losing it."
"So first off in this reality you never mentioned that you were Lee and Slider. From what I know you, Snowie, only came to the station because Frost was being bullied. Forcing Rekka to move with you."
"No, I'm the one that actually insisted that we move. When I discovered the bullies had maimed Frost, and the two of you weren't going to do anything about it, I was coming up here to make sure our little Frost was always protected. Snowie was the one that tagged along."
"Oh, like you really could have stopped me." Snowie said, as he grinned. "I assure you we never intended to get involved with Frost the way we are. It's just . . ."
“Maimed? What do you mean? In this timeline he was only being bullied.”
“Oh.” Frost sounded sad. “In our timeline the caught me as an otter and shoved me in the disintegrator. I lost my tail, but was lucky enough to survive.”
"Mahan, didn’t give me those memories. I doubt he will because if I ever find them they will be dealt with.” Kyle growled.
“Snowie, I know, it is damn difficult to tell him no at times so if he wanted to be with you I can imagine what you went through rationalizing it.” I said while Kyle calmed down a little.
“Basically what I needed to say is that I know you are all three completely different individuals, and I'm sort of glad you have each other. I- I just felt like there had to be something I missed. That I failed Frost."
"Daddy, I want you to know you've always been there for me. Just remember I'm also my own person with my own likes and I like Snowie and Rekka and the way they treat me. Now, we're good here. If anything it sounds like we're better off than most of the solar system. We'll be fine, so get out there and do what you always do best, protect everyone.
I placed a hand on Frost's shoulder. "How did you get so smart?"
"While Rin was playing with her models or spending time with Shock I spent my spare time reading and rapid learning in the hyper education tube. You know, the only reason I'm here at the school is because you felt I needed to make friends. I did, I met Snowie and Rekka. Sure they're physically older than my body, but show me someone that is fifty-three that isn't already related to me. And just to make matters clear you both promised to give in to all my desires as soon as I turn sixteen. I don't care if you're from another timeline I'm holding you to that promise."
"I suggest you reign yourself in just a bit. Thanks to Reaper I have full memories of both timelines."
"And I have all the memories of every interaction we've had as well." Kyle added, "And I'm certain we didn't agree to fulfill all your kinky desires. Some of them maybe, But definitely not all of them."
Frost shrugged, "It was worth a try."
"Frost!" Snowie yelled.
"Yes, Master." Frost replied hanging his head and kneeling before Snowie.
He rolled his eyes hand pulled him against the side of his leg affectionately. “You really make it hard to punish you sometimes.”
“I know Master, but I like it when you’re hard.”
"And on that note I believe it's time for us to go." I said blushing furiously as I grabbed Kyle and Mal and headed out the door.
As it slid shut Kyle tapped my shoulder. "Tiger, can you or Reaper block or delete specific memories or mental images?"
"Not without risking brain damage."
"I'm willing to risk it. Having the image of Frost in a light blue maids outfit with thy high-"
"Kyle, you just transmitted the image through the gem to all of us. There's no erasing it now." That was something I didn't need, worse yet I couldn't help thinking the electric blue and white went really well with Frost's dark blue fur. He was hot and I usually found maids costumes to be a turn off; or did I? Maybe Mahan was right and I was losing my freaking mind.
