Another chapter in the bag! Really looking forward to pushing this new arc, oh and tell me if you like the scene dividers. I've been toying with them for awhile and I feel like they're better when you have to explain things going on in seperate places.

SKIES ABOVE THE KORCEN KINGDOM

The mid evening skies above Korcen were beautifully painted orange with delicate streaks of blue streaming across it. There was a reason Korcen was named the Sunset Valley and today it was definitively living up to it’s name. The C Wing hovered peacefully above the sparkling Korcen ocean, it was a lazy evening and the crew intended on catching up on sleep.

Shirlene was fast asleep at her post, snoring with Clover in her lap, though while they slept a certain wolf was struggling to achieve the same calm. Jeeve lay in his room one again troubled by the Dreamscape.

DREAMSCAPE

“This isn’t right . . .” The hero stalked through the Dreamscape’s jungle on edge. He had only been here a few times before , but this time . . . Something was different. The wolf dropped to all fours and began prowling towards the source of noise, praying he wouldn’t have to fight anyone this time.

Jeeve made his way toward the end of the jungle and peered through the brush. There before him sat the same old beach from his last visit, but with a guest this time.

“Nigel?” The cloaked figure turned around and smiled replying

“Hey J. Why don’t you pull up a seat . . . We got a lot to talk about.” The wolf carefully made his way towards the old fox and said

“I thought you left!”

“I did . . . I wasn’t safe there and neither are you.”

“Wait! What do you mean we weren’t safe? And where did you go?!”

“Well I left back to Earth. When we were talking I briefly connected with Kyoto, after all these years . . . He found me.”

“How?”

“You. I let my mental guard down when you asked about your grandfather and he took advantage, and that’s why I left.”

“ . . . Does he know I’m alive too?”

“No. Kyoto has only ever seen you, he’s never heard your voice and seeing as your human body is gone, he can’t trace your ether flow now. You’re an entirely new person.”

“Wow . . . So now what? What am I supposed to do?”

“What do you think? I know you’re already planning on getting the Sirius, you might as well follow through.”

“But is that what I’m supposed to do?! I don’t know anymore!! You’re the master! You should be here teaching me!”

“You don’t need me kid, what you need is to get to safety. Look I can pull up another portal and bring you back home. Granted it’ll be a challenge with your new body, but I think we can work something out.”

“Are you serious!? I’m not running away! What is that supposed to solve?”

“NOTHING!!” Jeeve jumped back at Nigel’s voice and watched as the old fox sighed saying “I’m sorry . . . You just don’t understand.”

“Then make me.” Nigel Gaiden looked upon Jeeve with a face of sadness contorted with regret and said “I’m no master. I’m no hero. I’m not a real patriarch.”

“What happened?”

“What do you think? I RAN! I ran okay!? When the time came for me to prove myself, I choked and ran, fled to the corners of the Alteria where I stayed.”

“What are you talking about?”

“I was there . . . The final fight. Kyoto had offed most of us, but a few of us remained, like your grandfather, Tyloc, and a few others. Kyoto had pinned us down at the monastery and we took up defensive position. Jethro and I were cut off from the rest so we pushed towards Kyoto and that’s when it happened . . .”

“What happened!?”

“I-I couldn’t move. It’s like the world was moving in slow motion, but I couldn’t move with it. Your father had Kyoto pinned to the ground and he was calling for me to deal the final blow and I-I just couldn’t.”

“What!? You just couldn’t!? What does that even mean!?”

“IT MEANS HE DIED OKAY! JETHRO, YOUR GRANDFATHER DIED BECAUSE I WAS WEAK!! HE DIED BECAUSE I COULDN’T DEAL THE FINAL BLOW!! DON’T YOU GET IT?!”

Jeeve lunged for Nigel and grabbed him by his cloak yelling “YOU LET MY GRANDFATHER DIE?!”

“I let your whole family die . . . I was there too when the shooting happened. I received a vision of that day and I went to prevent it, but when the time came . . . I just couldn’t act! I saw the man when he did it too! I watched him pull the trigger, but I failed to act! And to think Um’Kari charged me with protecting you . . . I’m sorry.”

Jeeve dropped the sobbing fox and took a step back. He couldn’t believe what he had just heard.

“This can’t be happening . . . How could you?!” Nigel immediately stopped his sobbing and turned, giving Jeeve a cold glare and said “wake up.”

Wha?”

“wakeupwakeupwakeupwakeupwakeupwakeupwakeupwakeupwakeupwakeupwakeupwakeup”

“ . . .”

“JEEVE WAKE UP!!”

C WING

Jeeve shot out of bed and began flailing his arms, causing Shirlene to duck and yell

“HEY WATCH IT KID! Every heard the saying Don’t smack the mouth that feeds you!?”

“Wha!? Where am I?!”

“You and everyone else on this ship is in trouble! Get some clothes on and get down to the bridge!” Jeeve nodded, grabbed his green shirt and dashed out his room towards the bridge.

“Sorry to interrupt nap time kiddo, but this is serious.”

“What’s going on?!”

“Look out a damn window and find out!” Jeeve did as he was told and gasped at the sight.

“What on Earth is that?”

“That my canine friend is Canus Prime, a warship developed ages ago when civil unrest broke out some near 30 years ago, wasn’t even alive when this thing was introduced! It’s a warship so massive and deadly that one round fired from its cannons could obliterate whole cities! You see that hull? It’s the size of the Ferren Tower alone!”

“What the hell is it doing here!? It looks like a floating building!”

“I have no idea what it’s doing here, but let’s hope it doesn’t want to start anything with the C Wing. Hey Computer!!”

“YES CAPTAIN?”

“Run cloaking protocol F-11, oh and get aquatic engines ready. Never know when we’ll have to make a quick escape.”

“ALREADY ON IT CAPTAIN, BUT YOU ARE RECIEVING A TRANSMISSION FROM THE CANUS PRIME. I COULD NOT CLOAK THE SHIP IN TIME!”

“Shit!! Uh kid, you take Clover and get outta here, I’m going to see what this ship’s pilot wants.” Jeeve wordlessly nodded and scooped up Clover, leaving for the kitchen.

“Patch em’ through Computer.” A few seconds went by then without warning the transmission came through, half startling the rabbit. On the screen before her was a white female wolf, wonderfully dressed in a low cut miniskirt, flaunting her golden locks for the world to see. If Shirlene didn’t know better, she’d say this was a cheerleader rather than a military officer.

The wolfess smiled brightly and casually brushed one of her bangs aside saying “Hello there! How’s your day going?”

Shirlene raised an eyebrow, then poured herself a glass of wine saying “It’s going? Is there something I can help you with?” The wolfess’ smile grew even larger and she happily brought her paws together saying “Yes you can! If you’d be so kind as to surrender yourself and your cargo unto the Kydon empire, you make this whole incarceration process so much smoother Shirlene Yara.”

Shirlene looked at the wolf then set her wine glass down, opting to chug straight from the bottle.

“Are you using facial scans on me? I guess the Alterian Privacy Act’s not a thing anymore!”

“You’re stalling Yara. I’ve set my forward artillery to fire in twelve seconds, unless you yield to me.”

“ . . . I yield to no one.”

“Very well then . . . Fire at will.” The Canus Prime’s weapons began whizzing and whirring leaving Shirlene to say “I love a challenge . . . Hang on kiddos! They wanna play hard ball!” Jeeve and Clover exchanged worried glances as Shirlene began laughing while pressing buttons.

The C Wing suddenly throttled to life, barreling forward at impressive speeds. The Canus Prime began firing, but Shirlene’s dodging skills were far above theirs. The C Wing zigged and zagged through the barrage making the Canus Prime seem like a joke.

“Hmm . . . You maybe an ace pilot, but you’re extremely cocky.”

“Rightfully so flea bag. You ain’t hit me yet!” Just then the C Wing’s left wing burst into flames, causing the entire ship to tilt to one side.

“ . . . Haven’t hit you yet? Well if that was a miss, I’ll make sure this round hits . .” Shirlene watched angrily as a heat seeking missile began making its way towards her at top speed. The rabbit banked left then made a sharp nosedive for the ocean.

“Shirl! Do you need me to take care of it?!”

“NO!! They don’t know about you and we’re gonna keep it like that! Don’t worry! I always come prepared . . . Unless it’s Tuesday cuz’ for some reason Tuesday’s just not my day.”

“ . . . today is Tuesday.”

“Well ya better pray this works! Computer! Engage aquatic mode! We’re going deep sea diving!!”

“ENGAGING AQUATIC TRAVERSEAL MODE. SEALING ALL AIRWAYS . . .”

“The C Wing is a submarine too!?”

“The C Wing is anything I want it to be.” The C Wing rocketed towards the ocean puling every last resource possible so it wouldn’t explode. The missile’s tip was mere millimeters from the C Wing’s rear and it was at the moment that everyone aboard each ship looked at the scene with suspense. The wolfess growled angrily shouting “DON’T LET HER ESCAPE!!” But alas her yelling was in vain, the C Wing slipped beneath the waves and continued it’s escape.

The missile floated down the murky depths and bumped a rock, setting off the massive explosion.

“Did we get them?”

“No . . Ma’am! It would appear they have escaped!”

“Can you track their movements?”

“There’s too much interference in the water. I believe they charged the water as the dove in, making it impossible for us to pinpoint them.”

“Well then . . . This was an interesting first day. I’m sure my father will love this . . .”

“ S-Should we send a search and seizure unit after them?”

“No. Delete this encounter from all logs. No one outside this ship is allowed to know of what has transpired here today! Do I make myself clear corporal?”

“Of course Major Kydon!”

“Set course for Kydon Castle. I’ve been gone for far too long.”

BENEATH THE KORCEN OCEAN

Shirlene exhaled in relief as the Canus Prime flew over the horizon, leaving her to stretch and say “Hey ya’ll alright back there?”

“Yea we’re good Shirl, though I gotta ask! Who was that!?”

“Don’t know, but I know she’s related to Kyoto somehow. Only the royal family wears that emblem.”

“Yea . . . She was something.”

“Aw don’t tell me you’re getting a crush on this one too? Does seeing wolves almost kill me get you hard?”

“Language! There’s a cub here!” Clover innocently looked at Shirlene and tilted her head in confusion.

“Don’t listen to her girl. She’s just a silly rabbit.” Shirlene waved her hand dismissively and replied “Well that whole little dogfight was fun but we gotta a mission to complete so take us to the top Computer!”

“REQUEST AWKNOWLEDGED CAPTAIN!”

“Now we obviously can’t just fly over Korcen, because she’s probably already alerted the Korcen Air Guard for any suspicious activity, but . . . We can use that to our advantage!”

“What’re you getting at Shirl?”

“Computer! Deploy . . . The Yiffing Yacht!”

“The . . Yiffing Yacht? What the heck is a yiffing?”

“Language kid!”

“What I say? And besides! Since when do you have a yacht?”

“Just wait until the ship tops out.” The trio waited patiently as the ship began floating back to the surface, though along the way the C Wing Shook violently as if it was dropping something.

“What was that?”

“Give it a second will ya?” Jeeve grumbled and sat back with his arms folded, clearly annoyed with Shirlene’s vague answers. The C Wing finally floated to the top revealing Shirlene’s creation.

“Behold peons! The excellence that is the Yiffing Yacht! A maritime vehicle so deadly, so devious, so impressively named, that only a genius like myself could have created it!”

Jeeve looked at the boat and shook his head smiling . . . This truly was something only she could make. The vessel was excellently crafted, painted with a shiny coat of white paint and adorned with golden streaks across the sides. Jeeve looked the boat up and down and smiled at it’s size. It was most certainty a yacht, just a very small one. It looked as if it could hold no more than a few people, but he was willing to bet the ship was hiding a few more bells and whistles.

“She’s beautiful ain’t she? She was the first vehicle I made . . . Sorry got a little emotional for a second. Well what’re we waiting around for? Let’s get in!” Shirlene grabbed her tan flight vest and weapons, motioning for the others to follow her.

The trio climbed the service ladder and slid of the ship into the yacht, leaving Shirlene to say “Alright C Wing! Stay safe and alert me of any aerial activity.”

“OF COURSE CAPTAIN. COMMENCING CLOAKING MODE NOW.”

“WHOA!! YOU’RE SHIP JUST DISAPPEARED! CAN ALL SHIPS DO THAT?!”

“Nope . . . Just mine! Now focus kid.” Shirlene pressed a few buttons on the Yacht’s control panel bringing up a hologram of two separate places.

“Alright this building on the left is the Kydon Embassy and it’s where we’ll most likely find info on the Sirius. I’m going to infiltrate it, leaving you to compete in the Kingdom Rally. Make sense so far?”

“Yea just one thing? Why can’t I come with you?”

“You know why. We have to be split up for this operation to work. No one can know you’re Jeeve Javari! That’s why you’re now K’Yulla, wolven warrior from the Yangorri plains. I wanted to go with something kinda low key you know?”

“I guess, but what about Clover? Someone has to look after her!”

“You’re right!” Shirlene reached over and picked up Clover saying “COMPUTER! Watch the pup while we’re out.” Shirlene tossed the pup over towards the waiting ship, much to Jeeve’s horror. Clover squealed happily as she flew from the boat to the ship. The C Wing opened it’s top panel and moved itself, allowing Clover to land safely in the soft captain’s chair.

“Please never do that again!”

“You’re no fun. Well I better get you to the course . . . Computer get us to the shore.” The Yiffing Yacht’s engine’s roared in response sending the duo skidding along the waves. The tow mostly rode in silence, neither of them wanting to talk about the reality of never coming seeing each other again. The Yiffing Yacht pulled up to port and docked itself at an empty spot. Shirlene killed the engines and sighed saying “Well this is our stop . . . You know where to go?”

“Uh . . . Yea.”

“Look kid, I know I don’t say it enough, but I love alright? Just promise me you won’t go and do something stupid.”

“I promise as long as you don’t go out and do something stupid.”

“Heh. You’re alright Jeeve, you’re alright. Stay safe kid . . .” And with that Shirlene left leaving Jeeve to watch as she walked down the dock, blending in with the ever growing crowd.

The wolf sat back and idly ran a claw across Ethos saying “What am I about to get myself into?”

KYDON ROYAL PORT

Kira always knew she was treated different from her sister, but it was times like these that she really saw that difference. The wolfess sighed as her sister’s ship pulled into port, a war vehicle so massive that the entire Kydon dock had to be closed just for it to land. Kira looked left and right watching the entire castle staff cheer and congratulate as the ship lowered it’s landing platform. Everyone who knew her absolutely adored her, she was the center of everyone’s affections and that puzzled Kira to no end.

Kiza had left ages ago to handle rebel groups in the Western Hemisphere, but that was it. That was all she had accomplished, she had no accolades to her name, but she received praise like she did. The Canus Prime’s crew began filtering out the ship, waving and smiling as everyone clapped them on . . . Kira was ultimately disgusted.

The wolfess looked to her parents to see if they shared her revolt, but as usual they were against her. Her father was sporting a rare genuine smile, while her mother’s gaze was soft and warm . . . Her mother. Kira made sure to do a double take as she watched her mother for it wasn’t every day that she left the confines of the castle.

Lizal Kydon was considered a mystery outside the castle walls, animals around the world rarely saw her and always were suspecting she had died of old age or something, but Kira knew. Her mother was actually quite young, she didn’t know a date, but the white fur littered on her body was sharp and pristine, unlike Kyoto’s which had been ravaged by old age. Lizal’s eye’s were yellow and sharp, almost feline like. She had a look to her as if she was always searching for something . . . but what? Kira looked at her mother’s figure and was actually impressed, her mother’s body was excellently toned and it seemed like she had taken her advice about exercising. Lizal noticed her daughter staring and said

“Well hello to you as well my daughter. Is something the matter?” Kira looked away at Canus Prime then replied “Yes mother. Something is very wrong! I can’t believe we’re actually letting Kiza come home! Shouldn’t she be protecting the outer kingdoms, instead of gallivanting through our home?”

“Kira! Have some respect! Your sister has finally come home to us, maybe things can finally go back to normal around here.”

“What’s that supposed to mean huh? You like things around here better when I’m gone? Did you too wish for me to die when the Ferren Tower collapsed?”

“You know I did not say that!”

“But you’re not denying it. It’s alright mother, I now know it’s I against the world. You don’t have to pretend to tolerate me anymore.”

“K-Kira! I-” Lizal tried her best to apologize to her daughter, but the sounds of Kiza’s calling stopped her.

“We’ll table this for later” She harshly whispered. Kira ignored her and instead growled as her sister walked up to them.

“HELLO FAMILY!! Oh how I’ve missed you guys! Give me a hug daddy!” Kyoto chuckled as his oldest daughter attempted to hug him. He was so large that she ended up just hugging one of his legs, but he appreciated the sentiment no less.

“And mommy! Look at you! You’re drop dead gorgeous!” Lizal Kydon blushed madly then said “Oh stop it Kiza! You know I look plain.”

“Aw why do you lie to yourself? I hope daddy’s been counting his blessings recently! Come on and give me hug!” Kiza wrapped her mother in the largest hug she could muster, nuzzling her the entire time.

Kira gagged at the sight and turned aloof from her sister, hoping she’d get the message. Kiza stopped hugging her mother and said “Well ,well, well, save the best for last I always say! Hiya Sis! Come on and give me a hug!”

“You touch me and I’ll kill you.”

“Aww why so rude? Don’t you love your big sis?”

“I loved you when you were on the other side of the planet, So . . . Why are you really here?”

“Is it so wrong to come home and be with my family?”

“Yes.” Kyoto growled at Kira then said “Enough you insolent worm! You will pay your sister respect, for it’s because of her grace and mercy that I haven’t disposed of you. Remember our talk . . . Disobey her and I’ll make sure it’s the last thing you do.”

Kira barred her fangs and turned aloof, furiously stomping away. Leaving Kiza to chase after her.

“Sis Wait up! Come on you know daddy gets grumpy before lunchtime!”

“Leave me alone you harlot! Can’t you see you’ve ruined my life enough?!”

“Please Sister! I love you! I would never want to hurt you!” Kira came to a hover transport then stopped saying “If you loved me, you wouldn’t have come back!”

Kiza shook her head then said “Let’s go for a ride sis. I have to go check in at the Kydon embassy and we have things we need to talk about, so it’ll be like a mini intervention!”

“You don’t get it do you?!”

“Well we have the entire ride there for you to make me understand!” Kira scoffed as her sister hopped in the transport, her never ending enthusiasm was quite annoying, but if Kira had to admire her perseverance was admirable. The younger wolfess sighed then hopped in the transport with Kiza saying “Let’s get this over with.”

KYDON EMBASSY: KORCEN KINGDOM

“This is Bun-Bun 1, I repeat this is Bun-Bun 1, do you copy?”

“This is Mad Dog 4, I repeat this is Mad Dog 4 . . . Wait can I be something else Shirlene?”

“Damn it J! You’re supposed to maintain radio secrecy! And no you can’t be Big Apple 4!”

“Why Not!? That’s the nickname of my home city!”

“We ain’t in your city no more! Now focus! Where are you kid?”

“I’m at the Kingdom Rally registration camp. There’s a lot of people here, kinda intimidating at first glance.”

“Don’t worry about those posers kid. You got this in the bag, now just remember the plan! I’m about to infiltrate the embassy for the weapon blueprints, just keep yourself busy and wait for my call, if things go south, head back to the Yiffing Yacht.”

“I got you Shirl, just please be careful. I’ll call you when I get in a jam.”

“Godspeed kid.” Shirlene then ended the call and returned to staking out the embassy. “Hmm. 10ft tall fences, C.C.T.V surveillance, guards on a 15 minute rotation, and autonomous high velocity weapons equipped with animal tracking sensors . . . Sounds easy enough.” Shirlene got down on her stomach and began crawling towards the outer wall.

The rabbit was making good time until an assault rifle saw her. The weapon fired two warning shots, forcing Shirlene to stay back, but the pilot was more than determined to get around it. Shirlene picked up a nearby rock and launched it over the fence. The rock collided with the embassy’s dumpster, making a loud clang noise. The sentry gun quickly diverted it’s attention to the noise and began scanning the area, leaving Shirlene a few precious seconds to scale the fence and scale she did.

The rabbit gracefully leapt from the fence and rolled up against the building, taking cover as the sentries returned to their scanning. Shirlene shimmied against the wall looking for a blind spot to exploit when voices interrupted her

“Check sector 7! The Auto Weapons fired off warning shots!” Shirlene spouted foul curses and continued feeling against the wall. The rabbit sighed in relief as she felt an air grate scrape against her leg. Shirlene then bent down and pried the grate off, sliding inside before the guards came around saying

“Alpha team resume patrol, Bravo team will investigate the malfunction and make sure the embassy is secure.” Shirlene smirked as the guards left then went on her way crawling through the air duct.

“Computer help me out will ya?”

“I AM HERE CAPTAIN. HOW MAY I BE OF ASSISTANCE?”

“I’m stuck in the Kydon embassy and I need to find the server room. Can you locate it?”

“APOLOGIES CAPTAIN, BUT I CAN NOT LOCATE THE SERVER ROOM.”

“Why the hell not?! You found the damn federal port in the first place!”

“THAT IS CORRECT CAPTAIN, BUT LOCATING CREDENTIALS AND A SPECIFIC ROOM ARE TWO VERY DIFFERENT PROCESSES. THOUGH I DO HAVE AN IDEA. SERVER ROOMS EMIT LARGE AMOUNTS OF EXCESS HEAT, AND I AM DETECTING A VERY LARGE AMOUNT OF HEAT VERY CLOSE TO YOUR CURRENT LOCATION.”

“Now that’s using the old memory bank! Send me the steamy coordinates now.”

“COORDINATES SENT. GOOD LUCK CAPTAIN.”

Shirlene looked over the coordinates then continued crawling through the air vents, she was a rabbit on a mission and nothing was going to stop her. After a minute of crawling, Shirlene crawled over where the heat was coming from and peeked inside. The rabbit smiled as she saw the memory severs being unguarded, she tied a nylon rope to the vent and slid down silently.

“Hmm. Severs upon servers filled with precious government secrets, but no one guarding them? Sounds like a beginner’s trap to me.” Shirlene reached in her vest and pulled out a spray can saying “Let’s see what we’re working with.” The rabbit began spraying the floor below looking for laser trip wires, but to her surprise she found none.

“No trip wires? Something’s off.” Shirlene hopped off the rope and stalked to a nearby computer. She pulled out a hard drive and inserted it inside saying “Computer! Look for blacklisted weapons or weapons of mass destruction, then mask the search by downloading every else.”

“DOWNLOAD COMMENCED. ESTIMATED TIME IS . . . FIVE MINUTES.”

“Hurry computer, I don’t know how long before someone realizes they’re being robbed.” The computer continued the data mine, until it detected several voices “CAPTAIN! ALERT ALERT! VOICE SIGNATURES DETECTED!”

Shirlene crawled over to the door and peeked through the window, cursing as she saw the figures walking towards her.

“Kira and . . . The wolf from earlier? Computer run a quick scan on her!”

“FIGURE IDENTIFIED . . . RECORDS FROM EMBASSY SERVERS IDENTIFY HER AS KIZA KYDON. OLDEST DAUGHTER TO MONARCH KYOTO KYDON. SHE IS NOW IN CHARGE OF THE OUTREACH MILITARY AND ALL FOREIGN INVESTIGATIONS. RUNNING EMBASSY LOGS SAY SHE IS HERE PULLING BACKGROUND CHECKS ON ALL KINGDOM RALLY APPLICANTS.”

“Fuck! She’ll find out Jeeve’s a phony! Pull all information on the applicants, leave no file behind.”

“THAT WILL ADD ANOTHER MINUTE AND A HALF TO THE TIME CAPTAIN.”

“Well then you better hurry! I’m gonna bolt the doors down.” Shirlene made a mad dash for the rear of the room and grabbed a steel chair and propped it up under the door handle.

“Computer what’s the download statue at?”

“DOWNLOAD IS AT 73% CAPTAIN.”

“Speed that shit up Computer! We gotta bounce!” Shirlene peeked out the window then quickly ducked as she saw the two sisters outside the door chatting.

“Sister I’m telling you the truth, why won’t you listen to me?!”

“Why won’t I listen to you?! Have you gone mad!? You pretend to love me, but we both know the truth! You turned your back on me when I needed you the most! You’ve never been there for me! No one has!” Kiza stifled a tear then rushed her sister, enveloping her in a hug saying “Sister! I don’t care if you ever believe me, but I do love you and I’m here for you now! I want us to be close again!”

“I-I-”

“Please lil sis!!”

“I-I d-don’t know if I can . . .”

“Let me help you! I want to get to know you again! We’ve been apart for 15 years! I haven’t seen you since I was 6! Come on!” Kira bashfully rubbed her forearm saying “You really want to become closer?”

“Honest sister! I jus-”

“Shut up for a second.”

“No I will not be silent! You will listen to me!”

“Be quiet Kiza! I hear shuffling inside this room!”

Shirlene shrieked as the two wolves began fighting with the door handle, the rabbit glanced at the status bar on the hard drive and cursed at the percentage.

“95%?! Hurry up Computer! They’ll be beating down this door any second now!” Shirlene grimaced as she heard Kira’s booming voice “Federal Agents! Open this door!” Shirlene ignored them and continued pouring every ounce of her mindpower into speeding up the download.

“Kira! Slice the door open!”

“On it!” Kira spun Jericho then dug the weapon’s tip deep into the metal door frame. Shirlene watched in horror as the door began melting off causing pieces of molten metal to drop to the floor like jello. A nice sized hole formed allowing Kira to see Shirlene, and to say the wolfess was angry would be an understatement.

“YOU!?”

“In the fur kiddo.”

Kira began reaching for Shirlene yelling “You wait until I get my paws on you! I’m going to do terrible things to you!”

“Oooh!? I’d love to experience that! I can see why Jeeve liked you.”

“TRANSFER COMPLETE CAPTAIN!”

“Well that’s my cue! I got places to be, things to do!” Shirlene grabbed the hard drive, then hopped back on the nylon rope, climbing back up towards the ceiling. Kira continued cursing and reaching for her until Kiza said “Stop it Kira! She’s obviously heading for the roof! We can cut her off and intercept her there!”

“You’re right! Let’s go!”

Shirlene poked her head out the air vent and said “Computer get the Yiffing Yacht’s engines up. I think you might have to make a pickup.”

“ENGINES ARE NOW ONLINE . . . AWAITING FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS CAPTAIN.”

“Standby. I got two wolves on my tail and I know they’re not looking to give up. Patch me through to the kid real quick!” Shirlene looked hopped out the air duct and took in her surroundings . . . “Three stories high, two killers on my tail, and . . . a body of water a half mile away . . . Today’s looking up!”

The rabbit then broke into a full sprint towards the edge of the building, the nearby building was twelve feet apart, not jump-able by normal standards but she was gonna try today. Shirlene heard shouts from directly behind her prompting her to turn around “Damn!”

“Surrender now Shirlene! You can’t outrun the law!” Kiza shouted while dashing towards her. Shirlene opened her mouth to respond, but stopped once she heard Jeeve’s voice

“Shirl you okay! The computer told me it was priority one! What’s going on?!”

“I got into a little sticky situation with two wolves, so I gotta make a mad dash.” Just then the rabbit leapt the distance and rolled along the rooftop safely.

“What was that!? Is it Kira!? Do you need backup?! You know I can help!”

“Damn you kid I said stay put! It doesn’t take a fancy mystical warrior to take care of these punks. Keep mission integrity, if I need you again I’ll call you. Don’t worry about me kid! I’ll make it back home.”

“And if you don’t?”

“ . . . End transmission computer.” Shirlene continued running across the roof until she got to the edge and noticed a problem “30ft drop into a shallow pool of water. Tsk tsk tsk, not what I wanted to see. I need a pick up Yiffing Yacht.”

“I AM EN ROUTE CAPTAIN. ESTIMATED ARRIVAL TIME IS . . . FIVE MINUTES.”

“I don’t think I got five minutes. Can you put some ballistics in the air?”

“TOO DANGEROUS CAPTAIN. ANY FORM OF BALLISTIC RETALIATION WOULD ULTIMATELY HARM YOU AS WELL.”

“ . . . Computer. Would you do something for me?”

“ANYTHING CAPTAIN.”

“When I die you need to pick up Jeeve and leave. Don’t just sit in the ocean like a log!”

“BUT CAPTAIN! I AM NOT PROGRAMMED TO ABANDON YOU!”

“You won’t be abandoning me! You are my legacy, I need you and those two knuckleheads to survive. Can you do that for me Computer?”

“ . . . AFFIRMATIVE CAPTAIN. PLEASE BE CAREFUL! TRANSIT IS EN ROUTE AS WE SPEAK!”

“I’ll do what I can . . .”

“Shirlene Yara! Finally at rope’s end I see?” The rabbit turned around and grimaced at the taunting faces of Kira and Kiza. Both wolves had finally caught up to her, and they had no intention of losing her again. Kiza stepped forward and politely said “Please Yara Give up! We have you surrounded!”

“Give up!? Didn’t think it was possible to put those two words together.”

“ARRGGH! You’re wasting out time rabbit! Your time has come! You will pay for what you did in Ferren!”

“You don’t care about Ferren. You only care that I kicked your ass and that you took the bar press for the whole thing. You don’t care about animals . . . You didn’t care about him!”

Kiza looked between the two and asked “Who’s him?”

“None of your business Kiza!”

“Aww what’s wrong Kira? You afraid of the truth?”

“The only thing I’m afraid of is how short your demise is going to be!”

“You know he trusted you . . . I saw the surveillance footage. He honestly thought you’d help him, and what did he get in return? An untimely demise, and a broken promise. I hope he haunts your conscious every day.”

“Kira what is eh talking about?”

“What does it matter Kiza!? She’s a threat to Alterian security, and it’s our job to dispose of threats!”

“Y-You’re right. Let’s finish this now.” Kira drew her famed spear and pointed the tip towards Shirlene saying “You may have bested me last time, but you won’t be so fortunate this time. There are no more animals left to die for you . . .”

“Low blow Kira, Low blow. But I don’t need anyone to fight my battles, I’m more than capable of mopping the floor with you two brats.” Shirlene pulled out her dual pistols and loaded them, aiming right for the sisters. Kiza shook her head disapprovingly and said

“I was honestly hoping I wouldn’t have to use these . . . Ezra I call on upon you. Lend me your power!” Just then the warrior drew out a pair of nunchucks and swung them violently around saying

“My sister tells me you’ve survived a bout with Jericho. Impressive, but my weapon Ezra has never missed his mark. Forged during the time of the patriarchs, this weapon has seen more battles than you’ve dogfights. So this is your final warning.”

The rabbit smirked and replied “Do your worst . . .” Shirlene’s smirk quickly disappeared as a nunchaku came careening towards her, the rabbit dove out the way and shrieked as the weapon collided with the rooftop. Shirlene looked beside herself and noticed the gaping hole where she had been standing. The rabbit growled and stood up, firing off five shots. Without warning Kiza jumped in front of her sister deflecting every shot with her weapons.

Shirlene fired off more shots, all of which were either dodged or deflected back towards her. The rabbit took a tentative step back saying “Well this is not how I envisioned today going . . .” Kiza swung her nunchucks towards Shirlene and grabbed her guns, effectively disarming the rabbit.

Kira smirked then picked up the weapons, reading “Property of Commander Faze . . . Disgraceful! You took his weapons for yourself?! Have you no honor?!”

“Funny. I was about to ask you the same thing!” Kira growled then dashed towards Shirlene. The rabbit was no arch warrior so she had no way to anticipate when Kira kicked. The force of the blow sent the rabbit flying across the rooftop, skidding and scraping herself as she came to a stop.

Kira casually walked over to the downed hero and said “Surprised Yara? I’ve gotten much faster since our last encounter.”

Shirlene strained herself trying to stand and said “S-S-Sh-hu-t u-u-p!” Kira then kicked the rabbit again, forcing her back down to the ground. Shirlene laid still for a few seconds, then returned to trying to stand only to be kicked back to the ground. Shirlene tried once more to stand, this time only to be propped up by Kira herself.

“Look at me rabbit. Look into my eyes.” Shirlene made no eye contact and resorted to looking to her left. “I said look at me.” Shirlene faced Kira, then spat blood in her face. The wolfess growled angrily then began drilling Shirlene’s face with blows. The rabbit suffered punch after punch, until her face was reduced to a bloody pulp.

Kira raised her blood stained fist to strike her again but was interrupted by her sister who said “ENOUGH KIRA! You’ve made your point! We can’t interrogate her, if she’s dead!!”

“Have you gone soft sister!? Do you know who I hold in my grasp!? Let me fill you in on what you’ve missed. This little drudge has stolen a hover car, murdered Faze and Faux, stolen an impounded ship, stolen millions of credits in Renegade Rubies, stolen the legendary weapon Ethos! And all of those thefts in two and a half days!? What more is there to find to prove she’s guilty!?”

“Sister, sister, sister. Don’t you know there’s always a motive behind every action? Why do you think she did what she did? I understand you’re upset about the Ferren Tower, I get that! But there’ll be a time and place for brutalizing animals.”

Kira looked at her sister than looked back to Shirlene, punching the rabbit once more. Shirlene violently coughed, vomiting blood and stomach acids all over Kira. The wolfess dropped her, clearly disgusted, then resorted back to kicking her. Kiza shook her head and shoved her sister out the way saying

“Ugh! Don’t you have any tact?! You think father cares that you can kill a rabbit!? Father wants results, now watch and learn something.” Kiza slung the dying rabbit over her shoulders and walked her over to a water pipe. The older sister produced a pair of zip cuffs and bound her to the pipe. The wolfess reached inside her vest and pulled out a folded piece of paper saying

“Do you know what this is Yara?”

Shirlene dizzily looked up towards her and slurred “T-T-T-hhh-e F-u-uck I-f I-Know?”

Kira growled then swung Jericho like a bat, striking Shirlene in the face. The rabbit’s head violently twisted to the right, eliciting a chuckle from the younger sister.

“Now I’d advise you to answer my sister correctly next time. She may have an endless bounty of mercy, but I do not.”

“Please sister. I think I can handle a simple interrogation. Now Ms. Yara, like my sister stated earlier, you’ve committed a plethora of crimes that seemingly have no connection. Care to share what we’re missing?”

Shirlene looked up at Kiza with a defiant face and said “N-Now w-w-why would I-I tell y-you?”

“Because you’re in pain and I can make it all go away . . . For every piece of correct information you give, I’ll heal one of your injuries. But! Don’t tell me what I want to hear and my sister here will do twice the damage I healed. So tell me about your escape from Kiren? How did you pull that off by yourself?”

“Just talented.”

“Kira?” The younger wolfess smacked Shirlene with Jericho saying “Answer her . . .”

“What is there to answer? You know how I got out that shithole! Why don’t you tell her who helped me?”

“Who helped Yara sister?”

“That is none of your concern! Can’t you see that she’s trying to deceive you?!”

“I can see that my baby sister isn’t telling me something! What is it that you don’t want me to know!?”

“AGGH! FORGET IT! I am through playing games with you rabbit! Tell us why you were in the Kydon embassy today!” Shirlene let out a pained chuckle replying “That’s easy . . . I felt like doing some digging around on your sister here.”

Kiza cocked her eyebrow then said “You broke into a federal embassy to find information about me? Very likely story if it wasn’t for the fact that you downloaded nearly everything else in the database, which tells me two things. One; You were looking for all the information you could grab or . . . Two, you were looking for only one piece of info.”

“What’s it to ya?”

“The security of my country is my top concern . . . Let’s move on. The digital reports we received indicate that you downloaded the personal information of those participating in tomorrow’s Kingdom Rally. That really stood out to me for one major reason . . . It was the last thing you downloaded. So what I want to know is . . . Who are you looking for?”

“No one and everyone.” Kira grabbed Shirlene by her neck and held her in the air saying “You are an absolute enigma! Why do you defy us!? TELL ME NOW!! WHO ARE YOU!? Kira threw the rabbit on the ground then raised her spear overhead. It was at that moment that everything seemed to slow down for Shirlene. She had seen death up close many times before, but this was the only time that she had seen her life flash before her eyes.

Death by being impaled . . . Shirlene was fine with this, she had lived the life she always wanted to. Though if one thing still bothered her it was what Kira asked her . . . Who was she? Shirlene thought she knew the answer, but did she truly?
