The sisters seem lost in the light. Don looks a bit nervous that they will connect the dots that the hat isn't giving it off. Kayden keeps a tight hold on Emma's Aura and then slowly let's go. His ears dim and he puts his hat back on his head. Em lets go of his paw and the connection is gone. "That was beautiful," Brittany says.

"I know," Theresa says. "Is purple the only color it does?" Kayden nods his head. Might as well try to make it appear boring so they don't want another demo.

"Alright girls, let's leave Kayden alone," Don says. He carefully cuts his way through the quints and wraps his arms around Kayden. "Besides, me and him have homework we need to do before school tomorrow." The girls get a bit upset but they let them go. As soon as they're out of sight, Don picks Kayden up and carries him upstairs and into his room. Don immediately tosses the hat off Kayden's head and pets his rainbow ears.

"That was close," Kayden says. The fox's heart was pounding a bit. The thoughts of if he had got caught runs through his mind. He cuddles up to Don, needing someone to lean on and be close to. He pets his back and he starts to murr.

"I know," Don says. "But at least we should be ok. My sisters aren't the brightest people in the world and besides, Emma will make sure to bite down any rumors that will spread."

"That's good to hear." Kayden looks up and steals a kiss from Don.

He giggles as Don says, "Oh I see how it is, foxy's getting playful on me." Don pulls Kayden up and kisses him on the muzzle. They wrap their arms around each other and each other tight. Kayden can see pink all over them. To brighten things up, he gently tug on Don's Aura to read it. His ears start to glow pink and the room fills up with its sparkling light. Kayden breaks the kiss and just looks at Don.

"I love you, puppy," he says.

"I love you too, foxy," Don says. He teasingly licks his nose. "I see someone who has a bright future." Kayden giggles and blushes.

"Yeah?" He asks. "I just thought I'd shine some light on things." Don chuckles at that. The two kiss a little bit. The pink light continues to swirl around them, bathing them. Don takes his finger and carefully strokes Kayden's tail as it wags back and forth. Kayden, feeling extra affectionate today, deepens the kiss a little, hugging Don tighter and exploring the inside of his muzzle a little. Don French kisses Kayden back, murring and wagging his tail. He breaks the kiss and sends a trail of kisses on Kayden's cheek, nose, chin and neck.

"You two are so cute." Emma's voice startles them, making the two get off each other and blush. Emma closes the door and climbs the ladder to the top bunk. She sits on the edge, hanging her feet and tail over the side. "What else are you guys keeping from me? First Kayden has an ability that is very questioning and now you two are apparently in love." She doesn't speak for a minute, which worries Kayden. Has he upset her greatly?

"Em?" Don speaks up. His masculine voice right in Kayden's ear.

"Yeah?" She asks.

"Are you mad at us?" She sighs and lies down, her weight shifting causes the bed to creak. Kayden just hopes it doesn't come crashing down.

"No," she says after a while. "It's just, since I'm pretty much one of you guys now, so I wish y'all would fill me in a little."

"I'm allowed to have a social life too, sis."

"I know it's just..." Emma hangs her head over the side and looks at them. "You have been close since I moved with with you. I just... wish you didn't have to feel as if you had to keep it a secret." Don sighs and his shoulders go limp.

"She's right," Kayden says after a while. He sometimes forgets how feminine he sounds after a moment of not speaking. "We're sorry, Emma. You're right. We trust you with our secret." He opens his arms for her. She hops down from the top bunk and lands on her feet. Kayden leans over and hugs her tight.

"Oh, come over here," Don says. He hugs the both of them tight. When they let go, Emma climbs back onto her bed and lies down again. Kayden quietly kisses Don on the cheek, a bit of pink still within him. Don let's him crawl back into him and cuddle with him. The two lie there, looking up at Em's bunk. Kayden's mind fills with the dreaded thoughts of going back to school tomorrow. Oh well, he thinks, I've got a boyfriend and my abilities are changing.

What could go wrong?

Kayden's hat makes his ears cramp up a little. He takes it off and let's them perk up. He tosses his hat into his locker with the promise not to read anyone and keep his powers under control. Right now, ninth period is happening but Kayden asked to leave for his locker. He turns, shifts his backpack on his shoulder and walks to the cafeteria and goes to the building where his last period is.

His thoughts roam wild. Emma knows his secret and appears to want to keep it a secret. However, Don said once that his sisters aren't known for keeping their mouths shut except for Theresa. Sky's most likely to spill a secret so as long as she doesn't know, they're good. Also, Em now knows about how they're in love. Would she tell on them about that? Don doubted it. "She's been the closest quint to me since she was born," Don said when Kayden asked him about that on the way to school.

Kayden reaches the end of the hall. What happens next literally makes Kayden have a headache. Big paws shove him into the cold metal that is lockers. They grab him and pull him down the hall and to the doors outside. Someone covers Kayden eyes and pins him against the brick wall. They uncover his eyes and Kayden has to blink a few times before he can see straight.

A Doberman with three ear piercings, a spiked collar and a jean jacket was all Kayden could see. "What the?" Kayden breathed. He could feel some blood trickle out of his nose and some in his muzzle.

"What're you doing around the halls, gay boy?" the Doberman asks. He doesn't give him a chance to speak, he just rants on. "Huh? Aren't you supposed to be in class?" Kayden nods and tries to move but the dog holds him by the throat.

"What do you want?" Kayden begs and cries. Tears start running down his cheek. This guy's gripping him too tight.

"I see, you're trying to sneak a peak on other guys," the dog says. "I know how your kind is. You just love looking at other guys trying to get off."

"No!! I was just-"

"Your kind needs to go to hell!" The Doberman shoves Kayden to the ground and hits him down by his foot. "What's wrong wimp? Can't get up? I bet you'd just love getting dominated in bed a lot. Isn't that right?" The Doberman was shouting at this point. "I've seen you around this school, looking as if you weren't fully of peeping but everyone should know better."

"Help!!!! He-" Kayden shouted before the dog held his muzzle shut.

"You think anyone's gonna help you? No one will ever help you. You're a weak, pathetic, freak who doesn't belong in this world." The Doberman grabs Kayden by the shirt and lifts him up. His fist clench tight, he delivers a hard punch in the nose, enough to make Kayden start crying. "Get up you fucking baby! Just admit it already! You're a weak, worthless, pathetic, faggot!!" Something snapped inside Kayden. A new kind of energy he never felt before. It's almost as if the sun inside of him was covered by a hurricane.

He slowly gets up. The Doberman attacker balls up his fists again, but this time, Kayden grabs ahold of them pushing back, trying to keep him away. He throws his energy at his pursuer and gets a firm grip on his Aura. It's orange. Soon, his ears shine bright orange light, making the dog look up.

"I'm. Not. Weak," Kayden growls. He quickly searches for a color he never did before. Once he finds the white, he throws it into the Doberman's Aura with everything he's got. The dog's muscles loosen up and he blinks a few times. He rubs his forehead and looks around.

"Wha? Where am I?" He asks. Kayden quickly let's go of his soul so his ears dim. The two of them look at each other. Kayden, with a small sense of pride within him, smiles and walks back into the school.

"Kayden! Are you ok?" A familiar voice strikes Kayden's ears. Feminine like him, but also flamboyant at the same time. He turns around and the sharp eyes of a grey raccoon meets his. Behind him, a couple dozen student and some teachers who are trying to get them back to class.

"Vinny?"

Kayden sits in the nurse's office with a wet cloth presses to his nose. The nurse, a tiger wearing a stereotypical nurse's outfit, asks, "Can you tell me what happened?" She carefully cleans the few cuts Kayden got on his cheek.

"This Doberman, just... attacked me out of nowhere," Kayden says. He pins his ears down but not from being scared of the attack, but from changing someone to white. That dog was confused when he ended the fight. He wasn't happy, like Kayden wants people to be. Why did he use white? Did he enjoy seeing others that way? Of course not. Was he relieved?

Maybe a little.

"I called your parents, they're on their way to pick you up," the nurse says. "I suggest that you keep that cloth on you for a while just until the bleeding stops. What'd you say your name was again, son?" Kayden looks up at her. He stares at the blue eyes she has. Kinda like his boyfriend, wherever he is.

"Kayden," he says. "Kayden Marcola."

"Ok, Kayden, just sit tight until your folks get here." She goes back over to her desk. Kayden just sits there, staring at the door. He'd give anything to talk to Don right now. He needs the comfort of him. As for Vinny, he had no idea what he was doing here. He doesn't even go to this school. At least, not anymore.

Vinny is the raccoon Kayden encountered. He thought he recognized him even before he heard him. The two aren't exactly friends, and not exactly enemies. Frenemies, if that's what it's called. They were academic rivals in middle school and the first two years of high school. They were always trying to one-up each other somehow. So, when Vinny graduated early last year, Kayden thought that's the last he'll ever have to see of him. Apparently, he was wrong.

Kayden's ears perk up when he hears distant voices in the hallway. One made his tail wag, the beautiful dark sound that is Don got closer and closer to the door. "I need to see him!"

"Don! You're not allowed to! You need to go to class!!" Kayden barely recognizes it, but it sounds like Mr Vandertramp, a bear who teaches science here. The door opens and Don comes in, he quickly closes it before Mr V can intervene.

"Is it ok if I'm here?" Don asks the nurse. She shrugs her shoulders.

"Are you gonna do anything illegal?" She asks. Kayden and Don look at each other confused. He looks back at her and shakes his head. "Then, whatever." She picks up a stray magazine that was supposed to get thrown away and starts reading away.

Don looks at Kayden, the red rag, that was originally green, and the few scraps on his muzzle make him pin his ears down. "Are you ok, honey?" He asks.

"I'm fine. I just really want you right now." Kayden holds his arms open, letting go of his nose. A little blood still shows but has stopped flowing too much. Don quickly embraces Kayden and gives him a small kiss, not caring who sees.

"What happened?" Don asks.

"A dog just attacked me out of nowhere. He's a Doberman."

"Black and orange fur? Spiked collar? Jean clothes? Yey high?" Don asks, raising his paw to just above his head. Kayden nods and Don shakes his head. He lowers his paw and says, "Ross. Mason Ross. He's the biggest bitch on school. He enjoys belittling other people. Especially gay furs." He rubs Kayden's ears when he says that.

"I didn't know," Kayden says. He can still feel the hateful orange from their fight.

"Well, what happened to your hat? You were supposed to wear that!"

"I left it in my locker. It was making my ears cramp up."

"Oh. I guess we... should've thought of that before. Well, at least you know to be more careful." Kayden nods. He hands Don the cloth and he rewets it for him. Pressing it carefully onto Kayden's nose, he says, "by the way, he could've killed you. How'd you stop him?"

Kayden looks over at the nurse, who looks busy reading People. "Let's just say a change needed to happen." Don looks confused for a second before his eyes light up with what Kayden is trying to say.

Kayden sits with his mom on the couch in the living room. The watch Scorpion on TV. A bowl of popcorn set out in front of them. Kayden went through two other rags before his nose stopped bleeding. "Where's dad?" Kayden asks.

"He went to talk to the lawyers," his mother says. "I'm really sorry if this divorce is way too much for you. I get why you're upset." She pets Kayden's head like she used to do when he was younger. She looks down at his pink arms and asks, "when did you have that done?"

"Hmm? Oh, uhh... Don helped me do that. I just thought that it'd go nice with my ears."

"Oh. Well, it suits you." She smiles at him. He can't help but smile back. He hasn't been able to talk to her much since the phone call but he has no reason to be upset right now.

"Mom, I'm sorry if I ever said anything to upset you," Kayden says. "It's just... this divorce is getting crazy and... it kinda makes me... sad."

"I know, honey," his mother says. "But your father and I don't really get along anymore and we think this is for the best. In one month, he's going to move out and get a new house across town."

"What'll that mean for me?" Kayden asks. His tears return along with the limp ears and tail.

"You'll get to see both of us. It's just that you won't be with both of us at the same time anymore." Kayden turns back to the TV, not trying to think about anything. His powers, the bully, his blessing nose, even Don. He just wants to sit here and let his mind go blank for once.

But of course, he has a lot to think about. If Ross really has a thing against gay people, there's no doubt he'll be there tomorrow and when that happens, he might have to face him. Plus, there's the situation with Vinny. What's he doing here? And what does he want?

Kayden's phone interrupts his thoughts. It's Emma. He quickly gets up, telling his mom he's going to the bathroom. He goes into the hallway and hits the answer button. "Hello?" Em says.

"Hi," Kayden says, scratching behind his ear.

"I heard what happened up at the high school. Are you ok?"

"Yeah. I'm fine." Though he really wasn't. This is his first time with a bully and doesn't know what to do when it comes to being face-to-face with one. "I had to change his Aura to get away. Now I'm worried that he'll remember the bright light and confront me about that."

"Don't worry, pal. Me and Don have a plan." When Emma says that, Kayden isn't sure what kind she's talking about. He does want to hurt anyone but at the same time, he does want to give a little bit out of what he received.

"What is it?" Kayden asks. What Emma says next is such a shock to him, he almost drops his phone out of confusion and surprise.

"You're gonna practice your ability."
