This section is meant for character description, if you do not wish to read this or are uninterested by the basic details of the characters in this part of the story, then skip ahead to the title.

Theodore: A young, spritely rabbit who is usually very quiet and well behaved. However, when he is around his best friend Kyle he changes into a completely different person, but for the better. Theodore is one of those children who are always pleasant to be around if you know them long enough, but with new people he can come off to be annoying or socially awkward.

Kyle: A young and athletic dragon who is always up for adventure. He and Theodore had been friends since early childhood, however Kyle's original parents dies in a car crash when he was young so naturally Theodore begged to let Kyle stay with them in their home. Despite his troubled past, Kyle never seems to let anything bring him down for too long. He and Theodore seem to share an inseparable bond that allows them to perform even the most difficult tasks when they work together.

"Hey wait up!" Theodore shouted, running towards his friend, who was already on the playground. "Man you're fast, you need to teach me how to get that fast someday." Theodore's friend stood silent and motioned for him to come closer so he did. There was a small stone in the little dragon's hands, it was white, shiny, and misshapen, but it filled both children with wonder. There was a shimmer in their eyes when they looked at the stone. "Where did you find that Kyle?" Theodore exclaimed excitedly "It's so shiny!" "I dunno Theo, I just found it in my pocket this morning," Kyle explained "do you think it's something special?" "Maybe it's magical!" Theodore squee'd as he imagined what this shiny stone could possibly do; the possibilities were endless in his young mind. Maybe it could let them travel through time, or even teleport anywhere they wanted, or maybe even let them fly. Yeah, that would be cool_Theodore thought to himself. After they marveled at the stone the scheduled recess went off just like it always had in the past and after recess all of the children went back to class for the rest of the school day. After school let out Theodore and Kyle proceeded to walk home together all the while singing their favorite tunes like 'Call you baby', '23', 'Abundantly ecstatic', and many other popular songs that they heard on the radio. In the midst of them singing the ever so catchy tune to 'Take me to the chapel' the two boys stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and turned. There was this one house that they passed by every day on their way home from school, it was always dark inside, and nobody had ever seen who lived there or even if anybody had lived there in the first place. Kids would always challenge each other to go up and ring the doorbell, but the farthest anyone has ever made it was to the front steps. There were rumors that there was an old fur who lived in that house and anybody who dared to ring his doorbell would be captured and never seen again. "This place always gives me the creeps..." Theodore murmured to Kyle. They both stared at the house for a while, there was a chimney on the roof, but nobody ever saw any smoke coming out of it so the rumors of the old man just became a scary story older brothers told their younger siblings to scare them at night. The two continued to walk past the strange house and made their way home. Days passed and life went on as usual for the two, but one day Kyle had to stay home because he was sick, leaving Theodore to play by himself that day at school. The young rabbit was surprised at how quiet and bored he was without his friend there. On his way back home, Theodore walked past the strange old house like he usually did, however something caught his eye, there were no lights on in the house, but there was smoke coming out of the chimney and he could have sworn that he saw something moving in the shadows. The young rabbit was a little shaken, but played it off as nothing more than maybe a bird flying overhead or something like that, but he couldn't deny that there was smoke coming out of that chimney. Theodore quickly returned home to see if Kyle was feeling any better. "Kyle I'm home..." There was no response from within the house. "Kyle..." Theodore called a second time whilst walking toward their room. "Kyle, you in here?" Theodore cracked open their bedroom door to see nothing but an empty room "Where could he b-"*thud*. The sudden noise cause Theodore to jump a bit. _That sounded like it was coming from upstairs Theodore thought to himself. The sound had come from where the bathroom would be upstairs. The young rabbit made extra careful to stay silent when he eased himself up the stairs, the lack of paw pads really helped muffle any sound he may have caused whilst climbing. Theodore quickly but quietly tip-toed his way to the bathroom door refusing to say another word until he knew what had caused that noise. He slowly grasped the door handle with his hand, and turned it. The locking mechanism made a faint "click" as the door was now able to move freely on its hinges. Theodore gently pushed on the door while trying to get a peek at what was in the bathroom. The door was about half open when the small rabbit was able to see what caused that thud earlier. "Kyle!?" Kyle was laying on the floor with a small amount of blood dripping from his nose. "Uuggnn... My bad..." Kyle groaned as he was trying to get back up. "I think I tripped on that stupid rock that I had." Kyle bent down to pick up the whit stone. "I was about to take a shower but then this happened" Kyle gestured with both of his hand towards the ground. His story seemed to check out with Theodore because there was a towel on the bathroom counter and Kyle was sporting his birthday suit. Kyle walked out of the bathroom and to the window at the end of the hall. He opened the window and shouted "Stupid rock!" just before chucking the stone a good distance from the house. Kyle walked back into the bathroom to take his shower leaving Theodore in the hallway. The small rabbit made his way back downstairs and begun to watch cartoons while waiting for Kyle to finish. Thirty minutes pass and Kyle emerges from the second floor fully dressed in PJs and without a bloody nose. "So when are Mom n' Pop s'posed to be home?" Kyle asked. "I dunno, they said something about staying out late or something." Theodore replied "Guess that means we get to stay up later then!" The two boys were really excited for a few moments until they realized that their bodies wouldn't let them stay up past 10 when they crashed like a Prius into a brick wall. The next morning Theodore awoke with a start due to Kyle yelling "THIS STUPID ROCK IS BACK AGAIN!" "Are you sure it's the same rock?" Theodore asked "Maybe it's just a rock that got caught in your PJs last night." "No, it's the SAME rock that I've had for the past week, you even SAW me throw it out the window!" Theodore couldn't deny that it was the same rock, it had the same curves, the same bumps, and it was even the same color. "Well then how did it get back in here?" Theodore asked in a concerned voice. "The heck if I know, but it's starting to give me the creeps." Kyle was staring at the stone for a few seconds, then he clenched his fist around the stone. "What if we destroy it?" Kyle proposed. "I guess that might work," Theodore responded, "but how are we gonna do it?" The two stood there thinking for a bit. Then Kyle's face lit up as he raised a finger. "I have an idea!" Kyle left the bedroom in a hurry and returned moments later with a hammer in his hand. "We'll smash it." The young dragon set the stone on the desk in their room and lifted the hammer. Kyle swung down as hard as he could. There was a flash, a blinding flash. Then it was gone just as quickly as it had appeared. Kyle was blown back a bit by an unknown force and shaken to the core. "What the heck is this thing!?" Kyle demanded. Without skipping a beat, the stone seemed to respond to Kyle's question. It was vibrating violently. It was also really loud so their parents should have been awakened by the sound, however it seems they never returned home last night. Kyle was furious now, he wanted nothing more to do with this stone. "Stand back Theo!" Theodore obliged and retreated to the farthest location in the room. Kyle let out an aggravated shout and charged at the stone on the desk. He raised the hammer one more time and swung it as hard as he could at the stone. This time the bright light showed up again and blew the young dragon back once more except this time stone shattered into many small fragments and turned gray like a normal rock. The vibrating stopped as well and the whole hones was silent once more. Both children were visibly shaken by the events that just occurred and couldn't stop staring at the now, very dull looking, broken rock. "W-what was that?" Theodore asked, obviously a little frightened. "I dunno, but at least it's-"suddenly a very low moan could be heard coming from the stone. Wind was blowing towards it, which was odd because no windows were open at the time. The strange wind rushed faster and faster when, from seemingly nowhere, a hole opened in the middle of the air. The hole began sucking everything it could pick up into it like papers, pencils, and toys. Both Theodore and Kyle could not stop staring at the strange hole, they were in shock, paralyzed in fear and confusion when suddenly Kyle began to slide towards the hole. The movement snapped Kyle out of his shocked state and he began to panic. He was being sucked towards the hole. "Theo! Help me!" Kyle pleaded. Theodore, hearing his friend's distressed voice, snapped out of his trance as well and scrambled toward Kyle. Theodore grabbed Kyle's arm and began pulling. The pulling worked enough so that he could grab onto the bed post, but the hole's pull was getting even stronger. Kyle was being lifted off the ground by the force of the hole. "THEO! PULL HARDER!" Theodore would have pulled harder if he could, but the hole was too strong for the young rabbit. Not even 10 seconds passed and Theodore's grip began to fail him. A surge of fear and panic began to fill both of them. "THEO DON'T LET GO! DON'T LET ME GO! PLEASE!" Kyle pleaded tears starting in his eyes. "I'M TRYING! I CAN'T HOLD ON MUCH LONGER!"

"Theo... Please... I don't wanna die..."

And with that, Theodore lost his grip on his only friend and Kyle went flying towards the hole. Kyle reached out one last time "THEO HELP ME! PLEASE! HELP ME!" He flew through the hole and just as he entered it the hole closed and everything was calm again. Everything that was in the air dropped and Theodore was left alone, staring with tears in his eyes and disbelief in his heart, at the spot where he saw his friend disappear forever.
