D.E1 Crossover - Chapter Six
#6 of Canis Major Stowaway
GTHusky and I created this crossover to have our characters interact, but we have not forgotten our roots of writing so the story continues forward!
Yukiomaru is lost from his home, without friends and among completely strange aliens. He does his best to keep his calm but his nerves are frayed. How would you react, lost and completely at the mercy of aliens you hardly know?
He was one of the most experienced Retcan warriors on board R105; one of the finest warriors that Lusceonis had given birth too. He had seen many things during his life, yet this little white furred alien of glorious tail and expressive golden eyes was something that Zonda never expected to see. He was genuinely astonished, but had to keep his seriousness.
Finally face to face with Yukiomaru Alexander, the Canideran, Zonda looked directly to the little alien's eyes. Both creatures had strikingly similar eyes and both showed almost no emotion.
"I must admit I am surprised," Zonda spoke with his well-known deep, and yet serene tone of voice. "I have seen you in the video feed that my friends the Evocanis sent us; yet standing in front of you, I notice that your appearance is far more similar to them that I would've anticipated."
So this alien had been granted the knowledge that I am present in this foreign ship too, thought Yukiomaru. He stared at the alien, holding his tongue still while he judged the alien.
When the alien spoke to Yukiomaru, some of the Evocanis had wandered off toward a larger ship on the other end of the hanger but Hasky, Husky and Fx stayed close, still giving the alien some room to speak freely with the white furred fox.
Glancing at the Evocanis, he could tell that they were relaxed around this alien but he still couldn't trust an individual of a completely different species so easily. Especially since he had only began to trust the Evocanis, and their secretive approach to the whole situation was waning on Yukiomaru's patience and trust.
Yukiomaru didn't betray his disturbed emotions but the Evocanis and the Rectan warrior could sense that he was bothered.
"I thought my ship was going to be repaired today," said Yukiomaru firmly, turning towards the Evocanis.
"And we will," Husky responded. "We just need to take care of something else first.
Yukiomaru had lost patience with the vague answers. He had been patient already by placing complete trust in complete strange aliens, but now that they were coming up with more delays out of nowhere, he had enough of it.
"No!" Yukiomaru nearly growled out. "You keep answering me with vague responses, and I've had enough. I want a straight answer. You told me that you would help me repair my ship today."
"Please calm down, my furred friend." Zonda interceded.
"Calm is all I have been doing since I've been here," Yukiomaru replied with his patience absence. He turned his gaze back toward the alien. "I have been calm and patient, placing my trust in an alien that I thought was in a discrete home." Yukiomaru turned to look at Husky with glaring eyes. He had expressed some of his deepest emotions, and Husky had witnessed it but here it seems that nothing was private.
"Who are you?" Yukiomaru said, once again turning his gaze to the grey alien. He had already introduced himself, but Yukiomaru's question was more intended on learning why this alien was here to talk to him.
Zonda didn't respond, and instead took a step closer to Yukiomaru. The fur on the white furred alien's neck visibly rose at the approach of the grey furred alien. Yukiomaru took a single step back and left no openings for this alien to attack or subdue him.
The moment Zonda was within arm's reach of Zonda, he raised his arm with an open paw over Yukiomaru's head as if wanting to pet him.
Before Zonda could lay his paw on Yukiomaru, the white alien's paw intercepted it with his own, gripping his wrist tightly. The movement was so fast that even Zonda had very little chance to see it.
"I won't hurt you, Yukiomaru," Zonda reassured.
"I don't take chances," Yukiomaru responded. After all that he had experienced with Husky and the Evocanis, Yukiomaru was reminded that he still was in unknown territory. He would protect himself against any threat, no matter the form they came in as he had done many times before when fighting against the alien parasite that had nearly destroyed his home. If this grey furred alien decided to force Yukiomaru against his will, Yukiomaru was certain that the grey alien would find that the little white alien could hold his own.
"I understand that you feel threatened, Yukiomaru," Zonda said calmly and otherwise not reacting to the tight grip Yukiomaru had on his wrist. "You stand before complete aliens and have limited options. I can assure you that our intentions are pure, and you can trust my word on that."
"Please, Yukiomaru. Let him touch you." Hasky now said.
Yukiomaru turned slightly to look back at the Evocanis trio, but kept the corner of his eye on the grey furred alien whose wrist he still held firmly.
"You trust Hasky, right?" Husky chipped in. "You trust Fx and you trust me. Please trust Zonda. He's our friend and we love him as much as he loves us."
In the eyes of the Evocanis, Yukiomaru saw the desperation for him to remain calm that he had seen the day before. The Evocanis had shared some of their history, and that they have fought to protect themselves before but still had a pure core to them. They also seemed to naturally trust Yukiomaru because they were so similar in appearance, and through their actions it was not only their appearance that they shared such close resemblance with, but also their essences.
Glancing up at the gold-eyed grey-furred alien one final time, Yukiomaru searched the emotions of the one who had introduced himself as General Zonda. Was there a reason why he distrusted them? When he thought of the reasons, such as them being secretive, it seemed completely irrational. The Evocanis had their reasons to keep this alien species secret for him, and that was likely because Yukiomaru would have responded negatively to it as he was now.
Jun wouldn't treat these friendly aliens so hostile.
After some seconds of hesitation, Yukiomaru released the alien's wrist and relaxed his composure the best he could.
"As I said, I am not going to hurt you," Zonda repeated softly. "I just want to feel your intentions."
To prove to Yukiomaru that he was not a threat, Zonda knelt down so that they were at the same eye level. Gently, Zonda placed his paw on top of Yukiomaru's head, between his ears and almost smiled slightly.
Yukiomaru's first reflex was to pull away but he forced himself to stay put. He stared into the other alien's eyes, while the alien stared back with golden eyes.
"You are nervous, Yukiomaru," Zonda said softly. "You are also frightened. But I sense an incredible strength and discipline in you like I've never sensed in any other being before. That keeps the fear controlled in a way that only one of us Retcan warriors would be capable of." Yukiomaru did not respond while he kept the alien's gaze locked with his own. "Yukiomaru," Zonda continued. "All I see in you is a beautiful and pure creature. It couldn't be any other way, as like us, you are a furred being."
Zonda removed his paw from between Yukiomaru's ears but stayed at his eye level.
"What is it that you want from me?" Yukiomaru asked directly, he kept his growling tone at bay but he could not hide the fact that he still wanted to be given some direct answers for once.
"We just wish to know more about you," Zonda replied. He stood up to his full height and took a step back from the white furred alien. "That is all, nothing more. We should get going."
Yukiomaru still hadn't been given a direct answer, but the curiosity reminded him of how Jun would act. The marten would want to learn everything he could about these aliens, and maybe that's why they were treating him the same way right now. These aliens were trying to learn everything they could about Yukiomaru.
"Please, come with me, Yukiomaru Arekusanda." Zonda said as he walked towards a much smaller ship.
"Where are you taking me now?" Yukiomaru replied with a question. He was doing his best to keep his annoyance and impatience in check but Yukiomaru disliked being ignored.
The black-clad armored alien seemed to be of a higher rank than the other armored soldiers of similar alien appearance because they gave way to Zonda.
Yukiomaru noticed how the others had their weapons drawn, but he ignored it because he knew they had reacted to Yukiomaru's aggressiveness toward Zonda when the alien tried to rest his paw between Yukiomaru's ears. Regardless of his understanding, Yukiomaru didn't take a paw step to follow Zonda who walked by the other soldiers. If one of them tried to attack, Yukiomaru was still at sufficient range to dodge and counterattack, or flee.
"Please, my brothers, sheath your weapons," Zonda ordered his crew, in which they immediately obeyed. "Yukiomaru is no threat to us." After the order, they yielded their weapons, placing them in a special quiver built into their armor's back plate. Zonda stopped and gestured to Yukiomaru for him to follow. "Our captain wishes to speak with you."
"You all have a curious nature, but I still trust that you are sticking to your word on helping me get back home," Yukiomaru stated, demanding an answer.
"Yes. I give you my promise." Zonda replied.
Complying, Yukiomaru followed Zonda pass the other soldiers. The alien walked into a black transport ship, signaling the in-two white furred creature to follow.
"Wait," Yukiomaru said when he had walked into the entrance of the ship's passenger bay. He noticed that the Evocanis family was not following them on. "What about Husky and the other Evocanis?"
"They will board that large ship and meet us in ours," Zonda replied. Yukiomaru let out an annoyed sigh but he complied by taking a seat in the passenger bay of the transport vessel. These aliens seemed to follow their procedures obsessively strict.
"Listen, Yukiomaru," Zonda intervened when he felt a peak in Yukiomaru's brain waves. He thought it would be a good time to explain the little alien a bit more about their operations in order to distract him. "I know you feel nervous and upset, but your patience will be greatly rewarded; that I can assure you."
It was the first time he could feel brainwave energy impulses so strongly from that distance. He wasn't even touching Yukiomaru. The feelings in this little alien were so intense, yet it was incredible how he maintained such a calm posture. Anyone else would be at the verge of collapse. Was it fear? Was it anger? It was probably something else what tormented that little white alien. Could it be pain, or sadness? Whatever it was, these feelings were erupting inside the little white alien of majestic tail and blazing yellow eyes.
"That large ship you saw docked in the hanger is called the Defense and Exploration Cruiser," Zonda explained. The transport vessel closed its doors and started to warm up for departure. "The Defense and Exploration Cruiser is commanded by a Canis Major's elite team of trained warriors and intellectual scientists. They are in charge of all the special operations outside of Canis Major for security or research."
All passengers buckled up, the ship finally made its way outside Canis Major. It wouldn't be a long trip, but it would take enough time for Zonda to continue explaining Yukiomaru the way Retcans and Evocanis operated in this harsh environment known as space.
"You already met some of the D.E1 squadron, Husky, Hasky and FX," Zonda explained. "They are the finest and bravest warriors Canis Major has given birth to. They will efficiently ensure you get home and will follow our plan as safely as possible for us, them and you alike."
"So Husky is and his family are elite, disciplined soldiers?" Yukiomaru questioned. He was now more open to respond to Zonda's conversation now that Zonda was giving him some appreciated information. "That would explain why they were the first individuals I encountered after I crashed my ship."
"Appearances will always be deceiving, Yukiomaru," said Zonda, causally gazing at Yukiomaru who sat across from him but the white furred creature seemed more interested on the stars outside. "And I'm sure that's something you know very well. You look small and agile, but ever since I saw you I noticed the strength that lies within you. For a second I felt... intimidated."
Yukiomaru knew that he had betrayed his expressions subtly that Zonda may have picked up, but it seemed that this alien could sense that he was infected. Or at least the affects of that infection, such as the strength it granted him.
"I've brought down armed opponents weighing as much as four times my own weight, with nothing but my claws and fangs," Zonda continued. "I've seen many battles and bled for my brothers and friends countless times. The cold hands of death have threatened to drag me to the other side more than once. Trust me; fear for another being is something that I long stopped feeling. But you... you have made me feel... cautious again."
"You are right to be cautious around me," Yukiomaru said firmly. His expression did not show arrogance, but shame instead. "Whatever strength you can detect from me is something unnatural. The Evocanis had already discovered it in the tests that they have performed on some of my blood samples. They had come to an understanding to not discuss it. I wish for you to hold that agreement with yourself as well. All you need to know is that I am no threat to you, as long as you are no threat to me. I will defend myself if necessary.
"And you will have all the right to do so, Yukiomaru. I wouldn't expect anything else." Zonda replied, getting closer to Yukiomaru, and placing his handpaws on the little alien's leg. The friendly gesture was intended to calm Yukiomaru; while it worked somewhat, it mostly reminded Yukiomaru that the Evocanis' behavior was very similar. "I will prove the trust we have in you already, but I will request that you trust on us as well."
Zonda sat up and looked at one of his friends. "Hatchi!" The words that followed from the alien's muzzle was completely foreign to Yukiomaru. They were speaking in a completely alien language, but through his travels, Yukiomaru was used to hearing a lot of different languages. He was actually surprised that the dialect of the language was somewhat similar to the dialect of Yukiomaru's own native language. Much easier to grow accustomed to than the dialect of some other alien races that he's come across.
With Yukiomaru still incapable of understanding the foreign language, he just waited patiently across from Zonda, until not ten seconds later, a brow furred alien approached the grey alien and passed a small object over to him.
"Yukiomaru," Zonda said, turning back to the little white alien. With a gentle touch, he held Yukiomaru's paw and allowed for it to open before placing the small object in his paw. "We recovered this from the crash site, and it belongs to you. We will provide no hostility towards you and there is no reason why you should be kept from your own equipment."
A spear, hardly different from the Rectan Lancthracit blades, had been placed in the paw of Yukiomaru: The spear that he had wielded to help him escape from his severely damaged ship, and one that he had left behind when he had first met the Evocanis soldier team.
"You have no idea how much we appreciate the ones who carry honorable weapons like these," continued Zonda. He even smiled a little at Yukiomaru, still holding his paw. "A weapon like this is an extension of yours fangs and claws, and you have complete control over. These types of weapons allow you to know the damage you're inflicting, and is most honorable for warriors. I am sure that this weapon is valuable to you, Yukiomaru. Please feel free to carry it with you at all times. If you sense your life is in ddanger, do not hesitate to use it to protect yourself."
Yukiomaru stared at the armored paws holding his own. He was legitimately surprised that they were giving him back this weapon. Was it their confidence in defending themselves the reason why they gave him back the weapon? If so, that was heavily misguided confidence. A Perfected Infection like him could cause an inconceivable amount of damage.
"Thank you," Yukiomaru hesitated to say. These Evocanis and other aliens seemed completely trustworthy, but were they so trusting of other strangers? Yukiomaru didn't like the idea of them trusting the wrong alien. Then again, they have referred to some of their past struggles before and fights for survival so maybe they know how to judge someone beyond first appearances and attitudes.
Sounds a lot like Jun.
It wasn't their confidence in defending themselves that was the reason for Zonda to give Yukiomaru back the weapon. It was their confidence in Yukiomaru. He looked up at the scarred alien, still somewhat bewildered but only received a friendly expression in return.
"We salvaged your ship and armors already," Zonda continued revealing more information as they approached R105. "Our engineers have been analyzing the damage your ship had endured since yesterday, and we hope we can discover a second option for you to return home."
They have been working on the ship. That was surprising since they never told Yukiomaru that. They've always avoided his questions. But something still bothered him. "I wasn't told anything, but I do appreciate that you have been helping me, but what do you mean by a 'second option'?"
"We're working on all possibilities," Zonda answered. "Once we know more, we'll let you know. First we have to arrive on R105. The D.E1 Squad will be onboard too to help explain. In fact, we'll be boarding shortly."
True to his word, the transport vessel was in visual range of the massive carrier, R105. Yukiomaru couldn't see it outside the ship other than the stars slowly starting to disappear, as the ship was made with a black finish similar to Canis Major to help prevent it from being seen. The ship was massive, compared to the ships that Yukiomaru has seen before but it still seemed to be nothing more than the short brother to Canis Major.
"Welcome to our home, Yukiomaru; R Series One-O-Five. This ship is a former Retcan battle cruiser from the main fleet of Lusceonis; our home planet. We recently baptized it as Rage of Lusceonis, in name of its main weapon. It's a long story, but one that I will be glad to tell you sometime." Zonda said proudly as the small transport vessel was swallowed by the huge black disc-shaped ship.
As with Canis Major, the blackness of its exterior was highly contrasted by the strong illumination systems of the hangar. It was like walking into a new world. Instantly, Yukiomaru recognized the ship as being completely different from Canis Major however. This ship was built for war, and it could be seen in its design that housed many fighter ships.
"Drach'n Fury..." Yukiomaru muttered, being reminded of the advanced ship he had once commanded.
"What is it, Yukiomaru?"
"Nothing," answered the little white alien. "I have a vivid memory that's often triggered by the smallest similarities. Sometimes, I consider it a curse."
"Our ship reminds you of something?" Zonda asked the little alien. He was very happy that Yukiomaru seemed much more open now. At least it was obvious that he wasn't so tense like when they first met.
"Not really," Yukiomaru responded. Artificial Intelligence technology, like the A.I. on board Drach'n Fury was a controversial piece of technology. It'd be best not to share that information with alien races that he knew so little about. "Is this a war ship?"
Zonda let out a sigh and thought about the answer. It was probably obvious for Yukiomaru that this grey furred alien also had many memories of recent events that probably were difficult for him.
"In essence, it is." Zonda replied pausing between each word, making sure he would give Yukiomaru a proper answer. "It's... complicated. This ship was built for other purposes, but without knowing, we built them as fortresses made for nothing but battles."
Yukiomaru was given yet another vague answer, but given by the alien's response, he knew it'd be unwise to push further. It seemed to be a sensitive topic for the alien. Though the combination mix that Yukiomaru had landed in seemed illogical and it bothered his curiosity.
"Zonda," Yukiomaru said, carefully saying the alien's name to ensure he pronounced it right. The similar dialect made it easier for him. "Canis Major is a colony ship, am I correct?"
"Yes," answered Zonda.
"I can justify why they're out travelling through space, but what is a battle cruiser doing out here, travelling next to a colony ship inhabited by an alien race?" questioned Yukiomaru. "Our warships don't venture so far out, let alone stay close to another alien race we've encountered. We have other diplomatic ships for that. When have you come to travel along side the Evocanis anyway? I know that you two are not the from the same planet, the Evocanis claimed that they have been on their colony ship for as long as they knew. It just doesn't make sense to me."
"You are very inquisitive, Yukiomaru," Zonda said, exhibiting an almost imperceptible grin. "The truth is that R105 never had a valid reason for being in space. No R Series ever had. When we came by the Evocanis by coincidence during one of our patrols, Rage of Lusceonis had adopted a truly valid reason for our species to be out among the stars. To answer your second question, we have been travelling alongside the Evocanis for almost fifteen standard universal years."
"How long is that?" Yukiomaru questioned, but was quickly interrupted.
"Pressure equalization complete, General. We are free to leave the ship." The pilot announce in the intercom.
"That's a difficult question to answer," Zonda explained, while he started to stand up. "We'll answer more of your questions better when we've had some time to learn more about you, Yukiomaru. If you would please come with me, I'll direct you to where my Captain is waiting."
Standing from his seat, Zonda waited for the hesitant Yukiomaru to follow him until they exited the transport vessel. The grey alien knew that Yukiomaru might be a little overwhelmed by seeing the new hanger, especially with it so populated with Rectans walking around, performing their various tasks such as repairing ships, pipes and many strange other activities that seemed very specialized.
"You must excuse the appearance of our hanger, Yukiomaru," Zonda said, still leading the fox. "It may seem chaotic right now but Rage of Lusceonis is still finishing some little retouches."
The hanger isn't as big as Manis Major's but Yukiomaru allowed himself to glance around, moving his pointed ears back and forth trying to absorb as much information as he could. Reflections from every corner in the hangar could be seen in his golden eyes as they scanned their surroundings.
"The D.E1 cruiser will be docking shortly in an adjacent hanger," Zonda told the fox. He had to slow down as Yukiomaru was still taking in the scene. "You're probably more comfortable around them so don't worry, they'll be meeting up with us soon. Now, please watch your step."
"You all have your paws pretty full," Yukiomaru mentioned, upping his pace to catch up with Zonda. "I don't want the reparation of my ship to inconvenience you, and frankly I do not wish wait for the time that it'd take for your busy crew to get around to fixing my ship. Wouldn't it be better if you would just allow me to set off my beacon?"
"All our options will be discussed shortly," Zonda answered. "Like I said, we have some of our best engineers already working on examining your ship and searching for all options."
Yukiomaru had remained patient but he was given another vague answer. However, Zonda has been a little more forthcoming so the little white alien allowed the vague answer pass this time.
Rectans passed by, focused on their own tasks while Yukiomaru was led across the hanger. However, Yukiomaru noticed a large figure that was compromised of twisted and warped metal. Yukiomaru had to examine it for a second before he suddenly recognized it.
"My ship," exclaimed Yukiomaru, trailing off from following Zonda. Now seeing the ship for the first time in a well-lit hanger, and not suffering from severe injuries, Yukiomaru realized how lucky it was that the entire cockpit did not collapse and crush him.
Leaving Zonda behind, Yukiomaru went up and gently placed a paw on the ship's twisted hull as if to check if it really was there and really that damaged.
"Hey there, my friend," a voice spoke behind Yukiomaru. Turning around, Yukiomaru saw a black furred Rectan walk out from around the ship and approached the little white alien. "You have a very impressive ship. Couldn't have designed it better myself, I must admit." The black furred alien stared up at the twisted hunk of metal almost in appreciation before turning his gaze back to Yukiomaru. "Greetings. My name is Storm. I'm chief engineer in Rage of Lusceonis. I serve as a pilot in delicate operations as well."
Storm placed his handpaw on Yukiomaru's shoulder, showing him trust with the friendly gesture.
"You should have seen it before it crashed into a solid wall," Yukiomaru commented, staring at the black furred alien. He again felt the strange feeling of how easily these aliens trusted him but he was learning to accept it, like he had of the Evocanis. "I suppose there is no need for me to introduce myself, however. My presence is known across all Canis Major, and that seems to hold true over on this ship."
Storm let out a mild chuckle, which only seemed to deepen Yukiomaru's frown. He was not trying to be amusing. "Yes, the Evocanis and us Rectans keep very close communication at all times. We trust each other completely.
"Good, you met Storm then," Zonda's deep voice pronounced after having caught up with the little white alien. "Yukiomaru, Storm will be in charge of repairing your ship if necessary."
"I have to be honest," Storm started, "The ship is totaled. There is nothing to work from here, so I'll have to adapt our ship's components to bring it back to life. That, or probably just transfer its system core to one of our small transport vessels and accommodate it for a inter galaxy travel."
Storm obviously was trying to come up with some solutions to helping Yukiomaru get home, but the little white alien only interpreted his words as another delay. "There is no need for that," Yukiomaru said, walking by both aliens and walking around the ship. The least he could do would be to alert home so that they knew he was alive.
"Yukiomaru, I know what you're doing," Zonda said firmly, quickly intercepting him. "You are not authorized to activate that beacon here and now. Please respect that."
"I won't activate it, Rectan," Yukiomaru said. He stepped around the taller alien, and proceeded to lift himself up on the twisted metal. "I want to make sure that I have some solutions if all else fails. I just need to make sure it is still functional."
With that, Yukiomaru used his small size to squeeze through the same breach of the ship's cockpit that he had initially used to exit it.
Zonda stood waiting outside, disturbed by the little alien's actions. Even though the little white alien spoke with a strong sense of authority, Zonda couldn't agree with allowing Yukiomaru to meddle in something that could potentially cause the Rectans and Evocanis to revisit the troubles that they had just escaped from.
"Give him a hand, Storm," Zonda whispered to Storm in his own language.
"Yes, Zonda."
The young Retcan crawled inside of the remains after Yukiomaru, without getting in the little white alien's way so that he didn't feel threatened or restrained from accessing his own property. Still, Storm wanted to address the concerns that they all had.
"Do you need a helping paw?" Storm asked in a friendly manner.
The sight of some metal panels being removed that covered the communication computers, and Fury's core that would allow Jun to not worry, disturbed Yukiomaru. Frustrated, Yukiomaru tore out some of the fried components and half buried himself inside the wall where the metal panels had been removed.
His irritation was peaking when he realized that the beacon was not in the ship. Pulling himself out of the panel, he turned to look straight at Storm. "Where is it?" He demanded in a stern tone.
"All devices and parts that I have identified as essential components of the ship's systems have been removed, Yukiomaru."
"Why would you do that? How do you know that you didn't destroy the beacon by removing it from the ship? You couldn't possibly understand our technology already."
"I'm sorry, Yukiomaru," Storm said neutrally. "All power had been already severed from all the components. I'll show you where we have stored them, but the reason why I removed the devises is because one was emitting a strange signal; a signal that's erratic pattern is only seen in forms of artificial intelligences. "
Yukiomaru didn't seem surprised by this. "That's my ship's computer," he replied. He knew he should have expected the aliens to react to Fury the way they had. "Fury can set off the beacon, I need to make sure he is still alive."
"I'm sorry Yukiomaru," said Storm. It was obvious that his tone of voice had a bit of nervousness on it. Yukiomaru doubted he was intimidated by him, since the Rectans didn't seem like a race that would be easily intimidated. Storm's nervousness seemed to stem from the fact that he was trying not to upset Yukiomaru further. "We could not risk allowing an artificial intelligence being on our ship with power."
Yukiomaru's expression softened, and he stared silently at the black furred alien.
"If your ship is controlled by an A.I, why didn't it send a distress signal when you crashed?" Storm asked. He didn't intend to sound suspicious towards Yukiomaru, but he had to care for the security of Rage of Lusceonis and Canis Major.
"My ship's main power was destroyed when the ship crashed," Yukiomaru answered slowly. "Subroutine programs were still redirecting power to essential programs when I woke. I could have redirected the power to the beacon but the Evocanis team interrupted me."
"Yukiomaru," Zonda's deep voice suddenly called out from above both of them. Looking up, Zonda was looking down through the broken hatch at the little white alien. "We will adapt one of our power supplies to you're A.I. if needed but you had agreed to allow us to keep our security in mind while trying to help you. Please, trust us to take care of you as we already trust you to not willfully compromise our security."
Yukiomaru stared up at the Rectan for a moment before he relented. "Very well," Yukiomaru muttered and he started to crawl out of the ship, passing Storm on the way. Crawling out of the ship, Yukiomaru hesitated before turning to Storm. "Thank you for your efforts, Rectan. I do appreciate it."
"It is my pleasure to help you, my furred friend," Storm replied seeming pleased with Yukiomaru's small expression of gratitude.
Zonda moved back to allow Yukiomaru to exit the ship and land his hindpaws back on the floor of the carrier's hanger. He could understand that seeing the ship probably reminded Yukiomaru of home, and his urgency resurfaced so he tried to be understand and remain gentle with the white furred alien.
Landing next to Yukiomaru, the grey furred warrior led Yukiomaru to the exit of the hanger finally where they walked through the inner decks of the ship. They walked from deck to deck, from corridors to corridors, going through large halls and various small sectors. It was a massive ship, although not as big that they needed some sort of tram system like in Canis Major. Within a few minutes, they had reached the bridge deck.
"This deck is where the bridge is at, Yukiomaru," Zonda explained softly. "You are the second alien, besides the Evocanis, who has visited this area." They walked through a corridor surrounded by glass walls; some of them translucent, some of them very dark. On the floor, Yukiomaru could feel the soft and mushy carpet, which ran parallel to softly lit floor panels.
The technology was strange but still shared some similarities with the Canideran's own technology but it was definitely different still. "You truly are a different civilization from the Evocanis," Yukiomaru mentioned. "Your architecture and technology varies greatly from Canis Major. It's difficult to explain but it seem that your ship is built more customized to creatures like ourselves."
It was surprising and very pleasing for Zonda to hear the little furred alien start conversation. He stopped just before a doorway to turn and respond to Yukiomaru. "We've helped rebuild Canis Major before, and even this ship has suffered quite a lot. We're doing our best to keep both ships magnificent and tailored to our specific needs." Zonda proudly replied. "We are here, Yukiomaru."
They had finally made it to Rage of Lusceonis' strategy room; the well-known room where their last battles and situations were planned from. A dark room as night itself, with an oval table at the middle, as black as darkness itself.
The only light came from the rim of the table, as well as a holographic image that was projected from the middle of it.
Yukiomaru seemed surprised, and not very pleased to see that what this holographic image projected was footage of him in the decontamination room. There were all sorts of information being displayed in a strange language, but he knew it was information on him. One sub screen showed something that Yukiomaru knew very well; the parasite that lived in his bloodstream. Others showed different angles of him, and a few others his ship and footage from his crash.
"The Evocanis will be here shortly," Zonda informed the little alien. "Feel like in home, Yukiomaru. I will leave you here, but I will return shortly once I have settled some other business."
Yukiomaru turned back to see Zonda leaving the room, and disappearing where they came from. He was left alone, or did he? Before Yukiomaru could react, the door to the strategy room slid shut, leaving him in the coldness of the dark room.
For a second he thought he was once again being imprisoned, but before he could start planning on what to do, he saw one of the chairs round the table move in the darkness. The large chair spun around until it revealed someone sitting in it.
"Please have a seat, Yukiomaru..." A soft female voice spoke. "We have much to talk about."
He didn't react immediately while Yukiomaru tried to focus on the individual that had spoken to him. Certainly it was another alien of the ship but he didn't freely trust others only because their brethren are kind; and the attitude from this alien gave the white creature an uneasy feeling.
"I'd feel more comfortable standing," Yukiomaru replied.
His tone was not defiant, but Silver preferred that others followed her orders.
The little white alien gave out the same peaceful energy than the Evos or her own Retcan brothers, but there was something else within him. Somehow this small furred creature let out a very strong sense of authority.
Silver didn't intend to be aggressive with their guest. This little creature was not a threat to them so far as they could feel, but she had to be cautious for the sake of her ship and Canis Major. She stood up and approached Yukiomaru, somehow trying to maintain control over the situation.
"Before we discuss anything regarding the assistance we will provide you, we need to discuss certain matters that involve our security. I require nothing more than straight answers from you. Is that clear?" Silver said directly. She was as gentle as possible in order to keep her guest calm, but she maintained her well-known seriousness and tone of authority.
"You are the commander of this vessel then, I assume," responded the little alien. Yukiomaru looked up at the taller alien, but resisted the urge to take a step back. He held his ground no matter how intimidating this alien appeared. "I will answer your questions, but please, I have done this several times before. Invite all personnel you see necessary to be involved in any security discussions. I've grown wary of answering redundant questions."
Silver certainly didn't expect such a defiant reply from this little alien that barely reached her chest. This tone full of authority could be felt deep inside her despite his soft and high-pitched voice. This little creature had said nothing but the truth when he mentioned being a former Admiral.
Silver had gone through a lot in the past months. Having someone trying to demote her authority on her own ship was something she wouldn't allow. Her jaws clenched, and her pupils contracted at the fearless attitude of this little alien. She might not be the strongest Retcan on board R105, but she was certainly one of the most fearsome Lusceonis Warriors on board, and without a doubt could prove her authority to anyone at any moment.
But something was strange. This little alien's golden yellow eyes glared with such force at her silvery eyes, that pierced right through her, almost breaking the temperance that kept her from showing a defensive behavior. Not even the powerful Zonda would be able to do this to her. Who was this little furred alien of radiant white fur? His scent was one with the Evo's scent. He had the same warmth of both the Retcan and Evo race. But there was strength within him that not even R105's army could possibly break through.
Regardless, Silver needed to maintain control no matter what.
"Listen to me very carefully, Yukiomaru Arekusanda..." She said, not showing a hint of insecurity.
