#3 of Backstories

And here is the second part for Frost as I promised. I don't like breaking promises so when I found out that I had a few weeks ago when I had said that I'd upload the first chapter for the second part of Xrohne and didn't I felt pretty bad. But as usual if you enjoy my writing or the story in general please vote, fav, comment, or watch, (I just realized that I forgot to put comment in there the past two uploads that I've done today... curious) because any support would be awesome

Now we continue our story of the young Drake some years later on the coast of P.E.I. Frost was now a 400 year old drake and had traveled over much of the known world, including it's almost endless seas, he had also found during this time that he was able to change his size to something much smaller than it was so that he might go about, more or less unnoticed in the world that seemed to keep filling up with humans, he had heard stories from a well-known individual whom we might call Ylfing, as such was his name. Ylfing had told Frost that the dragon tribes' around the world were starting to lose their grip because of mans' ambitions and fear. It was because of this that Frost had many scattered horde's throughout the world, some larger than others, and some he didn't visit often. It was his horde on P.E.I that he was in now, one of his well hidden underwater caves that contained easily 50 million in gold when compared to today's economical gold standards. It was one of his smaller horde's but one of his most important being that it was his closest horde to where his tribe had been.

Frost had revisited his old home once he had felt that he'd waited a long enough time. What he had found scared him. All that was left of his old town after the attack was nothing but rubble and the bones of his fellow drakes scattered across the landscape. As he returned to the fateful place that he had stood, directly outside of the cave he noticed only one set of bones lying there. His sisters' was gone. The young drake shook his head, dismissing the thought as he wondered into the cave, digging in the back where his family's favourite jewels were, thinking about taking one of them for a keepsake.

As he dug the jewels up his eyes settled on his father's old necklace with a ruby gemstone, taking the necklace to be half buried under the snow he carefully picked it up by the chain, revealing that half the ruby was gone. Frost looked at it, his eyes swirling in their sockets randomly. Giving his eyes a confused appearance, shaking his head again and clutched the rest of the necklace in his paw tightly, pushing the rest of the gems back into the hole and covering it back up before flying away.

Frost, now some 500 years old was flying across Ireland when a mass seemingly came out of no-where and tackled him to the ground from almost 300 feet in the air, when they crashed into the ground the young drake rolled to the side, throwing the mass off of himself. When he rolled up onto his feet he whipped around as to face this said mass and bared his fangs, hissing venomously at his opponent. He then noticed that it was another drake. That sight in itself caused him to stop hissing, while simultaneously starting to growl at the other drake. The other drake, another that was trying to hide no doubt as he was around the same size as him, was an emerald green in colour with spines running from the back of his head and tapering out at the tip of his tail, between the spines was a green webbing of some kind that Frost thought would help with flight. His eyes were a deep green, much like the green you might find on moss in a dark part of a forest.

The young male continued to stare at emerald green drake until he finally broke the silence, "why did you attack me?"

The other drake snorted and tilted his head down towards the ground, starting to laugh like it was the funniest thing he'd heard, when he finally regained control he spoke in a thick Irish accent, "Attack lad? You'd best ret'ink your words. I don't fig't, I was merely saving your arse from a catapult. Y'see lad, we dragons aren't welcome on t'is 'ere planet anymore. T'e 'umans 'ave become aggressive in t'ere nature, making them selfis' and abusive t'wards t'ings t'at t'ey don't understand."

Frost nodded slowly, "I understand what you're saying, though I thought it was just the north. Not everywhere on the planet."

The emerald drake laughed again, "only the nort' you say? Anot'er t'ing you mig't want to rep'rase. It's everyw'ere lad. Not just in your nort'."

Frost nodded again, "if you don't mind me asking, what's your name?"

The emerald drake smiled and replied, "a've I not already? Very well t'en, my name is Schlioct."

The two drakes traveled the world for a few years believing there to be safety in numbers, each trying to protect one another even if one of their group had taken a vow not to. It wasn't until Frost was almost 600 that he left Schlioct, and another few thousand years until he met his next friend in Norway, another drake trying to hide from the way people had become, this one completely rust-red in colour.

Frost had been flying over the colder areas of the world in a sort of saddened state, trying to figure out what was becoming of the world as the small villages started to expand and the humans become even braver and unafraid of nature. The place Frost flew over as of current was a place that would be known as Norway in today's age when he heard roaring as well as the faint cry of humans followed by the faint smell of what he thought to be rotten eggs at the time. A small voice in the back of his head telling him to not intervene while the larger part of him told his mind and heart to help what could only be a fellow drake that was undoubtedly ailing at the result of human pesterment. The latter thought causing him to tuck his wings into his body and spin into a deep spiral towards the ground while he opened his mouth and started to spew liquid ice in front of his body. The liquid ice completely encasing his body in a solid shell of green ice that had jagged edges. Meanwhile in the cover of trees just beyond the meadow where the fight was taking place stood that same wolf-like being with glowing red eyes.

As Frost slammed into the ground the ice-casing shattered and flew out in a large wave in a flat line around him, giant shards either killing the humans or mortally wounding them eliminating them from the fight, one of the giant spikes slamming into the tree beside the wolf as Frost stood up and turned to his fellow drake whilst panting lightly, the drake startling Frost slightly as per his appearance. The drake was easily eight times as big as himself in his largest form at around 1000 feet and about 2000 feet long, the giant drake slowly lowering his size as to not intimidate the frost drake. The appearance of said drake is as follows. He was a somewhat dull rust red with black spines long his entire body while his tail was segmented and could be used like a whip or a tool to knock something off of his body while the spines on his tail were facing outwards to act as a blade while his body was as sleek as a cheetahs. His legs were set like a canines' legs and his front legs had nearly 15 spines along them all curving upwards to a wicked point while his claws were polished to a shining ebony black. His head had a large frill behind it that was studded with more spines while his eyes were pools of liquid fire and encased in scalene slots.

It took a few minutes before Frost finally spoke to the drake in front of him, and even then it was a stuttering, nervous tone, "y-you mind telling me your name?"

The drake then slowly nodded, his mouth eventually closing as well as the four hollow fangs in his mouth folded into his gums and he spoke with a heavy Nordic accent, "Ylfing."

"Ylfing? That's a curious name. Do you mind if I ask where you got it from?"

The rust coloured dragon, clearly not normally in the mood to talk usually spoke in the shortest sentences possible, "yes."

Frost, clearly surprised by the gruff answer didn't question it and quickly dropped the topic, "o-ok, um. Do you mind if I ask what made them attack you?"

Ylfing nodded tersely before replying, "I hunt them for sport it was only a chance problem they started to win."

Frost who was surprised that someone was fighting back nodded slightly before dropping the subject and trying to change it again, "so you're a fighter?"

Ylfing nodded quickly and grunted his affirmation before starting to walk off into the woods.

It was another few thousand years before he conversed with another being, this time the wolf that had been following him from the shadows unseen since his birth. Though he had forgotten that chance meeting so long ago and had bumped into him by chance. Frost was nearly 10 000 by now and this meeting he forgot some time later after writing it off as non-important.

Frost had been wandering through a jungle just to see what it was like having not done it before, he didn't really like the heavy fog that hung over the whole area though he did find some interesting creatures that lived there, one of them being an ocelot and another being those multicolored tree frogs. It had been in a small misshapen clearing that was still covered by trees that he bumped into the wolf

The young drake looked down at the wolf curiously, wondering why he was there but being polite, "hello."

The wolf smiled warmly up to the large drake before he replied, "hello."

Frost nodded, "who are you if you don't mind me asking?"

The black wolf smiled at that, "I'm surprised you don't remember me. I'm the wolf that saved you all those years ago."

The blue drake frowns and shakes his head hesitantly, "not ringing any bells."

"Ok then."

Frost nodded before speaking again, "so what's your name?"

The wolf smiles, "My names' Sear."

Frost nodded and smiled in return before replying, "Frost, it's a pleasure to meet you."

Sear nodded, "it's a pleasure to meet you, yeah."

Frost exhaled slowly after having had held his breath for a large portion of the conversation, "so what are you doing here if I may inquire?"

Sear smiled happily, "I've been looking after you all these years."

Frost frowned at Sear before spreading his wings, the conversation having taken a rather stalker-ish sort of vibe to it, "that's... kind of creepy don't you think?"

Sear nodded and sighed, reaching a hand into his pocket and pulling out the other half of Frosts' fathers' amulet, "wait. Before you go take this."

The young drake scowled at Sear and flapped his wings once, and was instantly above the tree line. The half of his fathers amulet still sitting in the wolfs' hands.
