Surviving Solitude part 10
Everyone had eaten and gathered in the living room, socializing or watching Marilyn read to Marvin. Liam and Nate were coming down, followed by Shane. He was wearing a pair of black shorts. Aiden was missing here, so I decided to go look for him, since he normally is awake at this hour. The door was open, so he most likely was awake. When I entered, he was standing there with a hand on his cheek. Something happened, so went up to confront him.
Walking slowly, I asked, "you alright?" He looked into my eyes, and shook his head no. "Want to talk about it?" He nodded yes, and released his grip on his face. It was red. I wrapped my arm around his shoulders, and led him past the stairs to the small landing, holding a love seat, side table, and a vase with flowers in it.
"Nate slapped me, if that's what you're wondering." He said, resting his head on my shoulder.
"Nate slapped you?!"
"Yeah. We got into a fight because I was trying to keep him away from that foxy guy. I don't trust him because he just waltzed on up to Nate and was trying to seduce him or something. Also they saw each other naked already, with me in the room! Even worse he was smelling my pillow." I have no doubt that this Shane guy is creepy, but I just hope he isn't ticking him off by anything else. For all I know, he is a real threat. Thanks to Billy, he told me something very important that threatens us all. I really did want to tell him, but someone came up to use the restroom.
"Let's go to the balcony before we continue, I have something to tell you."

That night, we were gathered around and listened to "Arise," but one part got my attention.
Repeating herself, the singer said, "Hold on, to the world we all remember dying for! There's some hope left in it yet. The snow on your face, and your razor blade." After she said that, memories of Marvin sprung up again, and how he was making a snow angel in a field of snow. I still couldn't pin this down.
"Hey Nate, want to sleep with me?" Said Shane. Nate looked over at me, then nodded yes. That didn't get me upset, but what did, was that his hands were slithering to an unexpected wolf's upper thighs. All the while, he was grinning wickedly at me. Nate was fine, but to Daniel, that was crossing it. Everyone was gone, except for the four of us. Daniel and Nate talked away, while us two glared at one another. He made butt grabbing motions with his paws close to Daniel's butt. He even made his middle finger go "in and out" while biting his bottom lip, tilting his head back, and then opening his mouth. All just for my annoyance, and he knew it.
That night, I fell asleep quickly, with Daniel sleeping next to me this time, since Grant and Chase wanted to crash together. Daniel also made me feel more comfortable. Then I awoke to banging and moaning. But this voice was familiar. It was Nate's. Another thing was that I woke up in the living room. Daniel, Chase, and Grant were also here.
"Where's Nate." I demanded, standing up. They all looked at me perplexed.
"Who's Nate?" Asked Grant.
"My cousin!"
"You don't have any family left, you came here alone three years ago. What's wrong with you?" The others said. Were they insane! I got up, headed over to his room.
"I'm telling you! He's in here! Having his way with Shane!" I tried to open the door. It was locked. I was banging my shoulder against the door. It would not budge.
"Dude, there's no door!" Said Chase. When I looked from them, I saw the door was replaced by the normal wall, and the doorknob was now Marvin's toy. The voices and noises were gone. Furious, I pounded the wall with both fists over my head. On my fourth blow, I poured forth all my energy. The plaster broke, fell, and crumbled into nothing but a glass room. I was in the glass room. Outside was a field of snow, at night. It was dark, all but a full moon above my head. In the reflection, I couldn't see myself, but something sinister, yet familiar. I turned to see Marvin in the snow. He was making a snow angel, with a guillotine over his head. He was oblivious of it.
"Look mama!" He said innocently. I banged on the glass closest to him, but would not shatter. Again and again, I pounded until my bones broke. The guillotine was just a thin frame at his head, the blade, and a rope held by a black robed man. His back faced me, and his tail was a black wispy substance. My heart raced for him not to let go. When he turned his head, I saw who it was. It was half of Shane, half of Nate; split perfectly down the middle and sown together by thick thread. It smiled Shane's evil grin, and let loose the blade. I screamed and cried as the kid lay dead. My knees buckled, bringing me down to my knees. I bawled and sobbed hysterically.

"Aiden!" I yelled, shaking him from his howling terror. He kicked and punched, all while trapped in his nightmare. When he calmed for a second, his eyes opened the door to everyone's terrorized faces. I buried his face into my chest, and began to rock him. Nate's face was cupped by his mouth, his eyes watered with mine. "Shhh, it's ok, it's safe, I got you." I kissed his head, looked at everyone again. Although everyone wasn't there. Shane was missing from the group. When Aiden passed out from fatigue, I went over to Nate before he entered his room.
"How's he doing?" Asked Nate, rubbing his eyes.
"He's fine, for now," I said, looking to the door of our room, "was Shane awake when he was screaming?"
The ram looked at me and said, "Who wouldn't of have had?"
"Ok, I just didn't see him in the room."
"What's wrong with that?"
"It's just I'd run to anyone if they were screaming. Don't you find it odd he didn't come?"
"Maybe he was too tired to come, ok? Just leave us alone." With that, he closed his door shut and locked it.
I stared at the door for a while before uttering, "...what happened to you?"
