Chapter 1: The Lake

"Is everything ready?"

"Yes sir!"

"Now, we wait..." 2 suspicious men were hiding in the bushes were waiting for someone or... Something. They waited. Just now, some-one walked past their hiding place and sat on a bench to rest. The men looked at them. They checked the result with a strand of hair they found. They checked the result. The machine buzzed. It was wrong. Another walked past. The men did the same thing with a child. The machine buzzed again. After and after again, the machine buzzed. The men weren't sure if they were going to find the person they were looking for.

Before the men started to leave, they saw a young boy walk past. They checked the result. The machine pinged and said

"DNA MATCH" on the screen. The men jumped out of their hiding place and pointed at the boy.

"You!" One of the men shouted (Supposedly the leader of the two) "You're the one we're looking for!" The man kept on pointing. The boy replied, confused.

"What do you mean?" The other man said.

"This is a DNA machine. With this strand of hair, we finally found you!" The boy looked back looking at the two men. He looked confused.

"I still haven't got a clue what you're on about." The men exchanged glances. They nodded and grabbed the boy by the arms. The boy was shocked. Two random men that he never saw before grabbed him by the arms and restrain him. What were they doing?

"You," the leader said "you going to open a portal to the other world and take us there?"

"What do you mean...? Other world?" The boy asked, innocently.

"Don't try that on us!" The other man shouted "You are our prisoner now." The two men dragged him to the lake and let go. The boy fell on to his head and looked around. There were many trees and the lake looked blue and clear. The men held what looked like futuristic guns and pointed them at the boy.

"Now," The leader said "The spell. Chant it!"

"No... Gregory??" The boy replied "Your names Gregory?" The man blushed.

"That was my name when I was born. This here is Keith."

"Keith?" The boy questioned. "That's not really a threatening name... Keith." Keith growled at him.

"Calm down Keith." Greg ordered. Keith backed away, still growling at the boy. "I won't ask you again. The spell!"

"What do you mean spell?"

"You are trying my patience, boy."

"Oi," The boy snapped "Back off with boy! My name is..."

"Adam!" Adam was interrupted by a voice saying his name. Gregory looked and around, so did Keith.

"Where are you?" Greg shouted "Show yourself!" The voice replied.

"Why should we?"

"If you don't, I'll open fire and shoot anything that moves." Keith looked around trying to find the voice.

Adam was in the background listening to the conversation, hearing the mysterious voice and the men talking and arguing. Adam was puzzled. What were the men's plan and how did this mysterious voice knew Adam's name? So many questions and none of the questions he thought were answered. He heard something splash behind him. He looked behind him. It was a golden fish. It said on the fish "Sodo caru maruvay."

"Sodo caru maruvay? What does that mean?" The fish splashed around the place furiously and shaking terribly. The fish swam to middle of the lake and span vertically and caused a whirlwind to start. Adam gasped as the wind blew. "W-w-w-what's happening?"

"What?" Keith shouted back. The men tried to stand tall and teleported away. Adam was left alone with the wind blowing against him. The voice was now in his head and whispered

"Do not worry; you have activated the portal to come home." The voice blocked out the winds sound. Adam looked up and saw the lake starting to glow.
