Ra's Plan
#5 of Ra's Rise (Finished)
Ra and Anubis are coming towards their final confrontation, hold on to your hats because this is where the final battle starts.
Ra grinned as his subjects bowed before him; it had been three months since his resurrection to the earth. He had gained many followers since his initial invasion, some willing others not so much. Now that most of the continent that used to be called Europe belonged to him he was planning on extending his reach further. "My lord Ra how may we serve you?" His general Herep asked him, "How you may serve me is to find that meddling dog Anubis!" He growled at the bowing birdman, Herep nodded and cawed an order to some of his guard who immediately ran off to fulfill his orders. Ra glanced over his subjects and slowly stood, "My followers I have something to tell you." Every one of his followers looked to him with aw in their eyes, "In one week we shall be starting the invasion of the world. We shall spread our glory across all of those who know not of my splendor, rejoice for in one week I shall be the king of the world!" Every one of the changed humans stood and cheered for their king, their god. Herep grinned as he watched all of the people cheer for the god, he had been there since the beginning and soon all of their plans will be coming to fruition. Ra exuded a golden aura as he strode off the stage, as he stepped of his harem ran up to meet him. It was full of both women and man; he had no preference as long as they were his. One that he had marked specially ran up to him, the ex-lover of Anubis's general. "How are you doing Perida?" He asked, Perida chirped in pleasure at being acknowledged. "I'm doing extremely well my lord, though I'm glad that I can now be close to you!" Ra grinned, soon not only would he have Europe in his clutches but the whole world. ******************************************************************************
Derek ground his teeth is anger as he looked upon the whole procession, Ra had finally laid down his hand... claw. He had enough gall to attack the whole world, it was ridiculous. The general strode back through the town towards his base; he glanced around to look upon how much the city had changed. In three months the once normal city had been changed into one that resembled the pyramids of old.
Derek walked up to a normal looking pyramid and set his hand on an oddly marked stone slab, after a moment it slid open a nearby hidden door. The man glanced around quickly and slid into the door and winced as it slammed shut behind him, "I should really get that fixed..." Derek muttered to himself, as he walked down the hall he slid past both Jackals and humans. People stopped to salute to him as he walked past, as Derek walked into a giant meeting hall his eyes drifted over the advanced machinery lining the hall. Anubis had used his magic to bring in some machinery from unknown places. As Derek strode into the middle of the room he found the god in the flesh, there sitting in a swivel chair was an average looking man reading a newspaper. The man laughed out loud as he read a particularly funny comic, "Oh I can't believe how many funny jokes humans can make, you all never cease to amaze me." He looked up and smiled at Derek, "Ah there you are, I've been wondering when you'd get back." Derek frowned at the god, "How are you still getting newspapers in the middle of this invasion?" Anubis grinned a broad grin, "Why America of course." Derek rubbed his nose in irritation, "Can't you be serious for one minute?" Anubis put on a trench coat and sunglasses and saluted, "Aye aye captain, what is it that we have to be so serious about?" Derek wanted to smack that smug look off of the god's face, "Well other than Ra announcing that he's going to be invading the rest of the world in a week, nothing much." Anubis sat up suddenly serious, "Well... that's something worth going serious for, isn't it now?"
Anubis's sunglasses and jacket disappeared as he got up and threw down his newspaper, he walked down to a station which had maps and notes scattered all over it. "Well if that's the case then I believe we're going to have to get our plan moving, now shouldn't we?" Derek nodded and stood beside the god, Anubis glanced up at his general. "If you're going to be serious can't you at least be in your Jackal form?" Derek blushed and mumbled something, Anubis's lips perked and he leaned in towards Derek. "Now what was that oh general of mine?" Derek's face turned an even brighter shade of red, "I said that I don't think I look attractive in black." Anubis burst out laughing, "So even when you're being serious you're worried about looks? Spoken like a true human." Derek glanced away in irritation, as the two were talking two humans approached them. "Excuse me sirs." Anubis and Derek looked over to see a pair of teenagers looked up at them seriously, "Yes twins?" Derek said as he straightened up, the pair had just joined them a week ago so he was still trying to learn their names. "We would like to lead an scouting party so we can learn more on the invasion." The twins said in tandem, Derek's eyebrows furrowed at this, "I'm sorry but I can't let you do this, you two know that you haven't done the change so you're still susceptible to Ra's changing powers." One of the twins stepped forwards, "Please Derek we... we just want to see if our parents are still human." Derek winced, just the week before he had saved the pair from a chain of prisoners. He had been trying to save everyone in the chain but he had only succeeded in saving the pair, he had to pull them away from their parents. "I...I..." Before he could continue Anubis set his hand on his shoulder, "I'm sorry boys but you can't, Derek knows what he is talking about." The pair looked down in sadness and walked away, "It's alright Derek don't feel guilt for what happened with their parents, that you were able to save those two from Herep's chain was a miracle in itself." Derek slowly nodded, "I still can't believe that Herep himself was there, he's way too powerful to beat..." Anubis shook his head, "He's powerful I'll admit, but I'm sure you could beat him in a one on one match. Remember it wasn't just him you were fighting, you were also fighting his elite guard." Derek nodded and finally let his illusion fall and showed his Jackal form, "I think it's time for us to start our plans." Anubis nodded and let his illusion drop as well, soon there was a pair of Jackals making plans for a counterattack. ******************************************************************************
The younger of the pair of twins glanced back nervously as they walked down a hall, "Are you sure of this Becker?" The older of the two grinned back at his little brother, "Of course, I would never steer you wrong now would I Stratus?" Stratus nervously twitched his fingers, "I guess you're right bro... though once Derek and Anubis hear about this they're going to kill us." Becker laughed, "Once they catch wind of this we'll have given them all of the information that they need." As the pair slip out of the base they glance around and run into the shadows, "Now we're going to go into Ra's base and steal their information." Stratus nodded and followed his older brother down the halls, as the pair traveled down the streets they listened for any noises. As they reached the end of an alley they nearly got caught as a shadow passed in front of them, Becker shoved his younger brother into the shadows as a large form stood in front of them. General Herep glanced around as he did his nightly patrol, he was about to look into the alley as a rather noisy bird ran up to him. "General Herep! I found something!" Herep looked down at the sentry, "what is it this time Morol?" The bulky falcon held up a dead rat in his hand, "I found this sir! Is it important?" He grinned at the general in excitement waiting to be praised; Herep slowly raised his hand and smacked the dumb falcon across the street. "You moron! That's a fucking mouse, how could that possibly be important you ignoramus?!" The falcon stood up and looked at his feet in fright, "I... I'm so sorry general..." Herep sighed in irritation, "Go and bother somebody else, I'm on patrol." The general turned his attention back to the alley and walked in to see if anybody was hiding in there, but the alley was void of any life besides some bugs crawling up the walls. He grunted in irritation as he heard Morol bumbling around in the dark, "How is it that such a stupid bird is one of our strongest warriors?..." He mumbled to himself as he walked out to help the idiotic guard. Becker finally started to breathe again as the falcon walked away, during the little interruption from Morol he had taken the chance to get out of the alley. Stratus pushed away Becker's hand in panic and gasped for breath, "Becker you nearly killed me!" Becker apologized to his younger brother, "Hey Stratus Herep is out here..." Stratus itched the back of his head in slight irritation, "Yeah I kinda noticed." Becker grinned at his younger sibling, "You don't understand. This means that Ra's palace is unguarded!" Stratus grinned as his brother explained it to him, "You're right! That means that all of the information is ours for the taking!" The brothers quickly ran towards the palace in the dark, as they got closer to the palace they breathed in at the sight of the palace. It had been made of pure gold, the week after Ra's initial invasion he had all of his subjects go out and gather all of the rarest materials. After two months the very palace in front of them had been constructed, no matter how evil Ra was they had to admit that the palace was a true masterpiece. As the twins snuck up to the palace they grinned as they saw that the guards were gone, "They've gotten sloppy." Becker whispered excitedly to his brother and they slipped into the palace. As they glanced around they marveled at the sight, adorning every wall was a painting or picture of the Falcon god. "He's a tad bit conceited, isn't he?" Stratus asked Becker who agreed wholeheartedly. As the pair snuck deeper into the palace they had a few close calls with the god's personal cooks, "That food smells absolutely delicious..." Becker whispered as his mouth watered, Stratus's stomach seemed to be in agreement as it growled. The pair suddenly shuffled into a corner in fright of someone hearing the teenager's stomach, after a few minutes they confirmed that no one heard and continued on. As the pair passed a door they heard a voice emanating from inside, "You idiots how could you not find the mark?!" They both jumped as they heard the crack of bone, "That's what happens when you don't follow my instructions to a t!" The brothers looked at each other and slipped by the door and glanced in the crack of the door and saw Ra in all of his evil glory. The god stood over the corpse of one of his followers, "Now you are going to find that picture of me, do you understand?!" One of his cowering followers gathered his breath and nervously stepped forward, "H... how do you know it still exists my lord?..."
Ra swung his shoulder to face the group, they all looked to see what looked like a tattoo on his arm. "This is proof enough, as long as this tattoo exists so does the cursed inscription that can seal me away once more." His followers slowly nodded, "Now, the inscription should be around where I was resurrected. Meaning it should be at the archeological site where my host was digging." A light suddenly appeared around him and suddenly everybody seeing the light suddenly had a map imprinted into their minds. "Now that all of you know where it is, go!" He thrust his arm out and teleported them all out of the room, he sighed and sat back in a beautiful throne. The god rose his hands and clapped them, out of a side room a harem of men and women ran up to him and started to stroke his muscles. The twins slowly backed up from the door with giant grins on their faces, "You know what this means Stratus?" The younger of the siblings nodded vigorously, "It means that we not only have a weapon against Ra but we also know where it is." The pair quickly crept back towards the entrance, but as they were walking Stratus noticed something to the side. "Hey Becker!" He whispered to his brother, Becker glanced to where his brother was pointing to see a door. "What is it Stratus?" Stratus looked over at his twin, "I think that's the dungeons..." Becker cocked his eyebrow, "How do you know?" Stratus furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, "I don't know but it just feels like that." Becker hesitated then shrugged, "It might be worth a look."
The pair opened the door and looked down a long staircase, "Well if it is a dungeon it definitely has the feel for it." Becker whispered as they shivered from a cold breeze passing over their skin, they quickly walked down the stairs and gaped as they looked upon a long hall of cells. Stratus quickly ran down the hall to look for their parents, "Mom?! Dad?!" He hissed out, as Becker followed closely behind he noticed that most of the cells were empty save for a few. "Becker?... Stratus?..." They jumped as they heard their dad's voice, "Dad!" Stratus ran to a cage and looked in to see his parents, tears ran down his cheeks. "Oh thank god! You haven't been changed yet, hold on we can get you out of here." He looked around for a key but he froze as he felt his parent's hands touch his own. "No son..." Stratus looked at his parents with a look of confusion, "What do you mean?" His parents glanced at each other than back at their sons, "Any moment now the guards are coming down here and if they see you they'll change you along with us. You need to go right now." Stratus shook his head violently, "I won't let them, I'll beat them all up." Becker set his hand on his brother's back, "Stratus you know we can't beat them..." Stratus bared his teeth in rage as he tried to open the cage door but then froze as they all heard a door slam open and a familiar voice call down the hall. "I think I have some rats digging around in my basement..." Becker and Stratus looked up in horror to see Ra slowly walking down the stairs, "Ah there are the rats... or should I say dogs..." Becker and Stratus grimaced in horror at the sight of the god, "Stratus... when I say go run past him and up the stairs ok?" Becker whispered to his younger brother, Stratus was too stunned to say anything. Ra smiled as he walked towards them, "I'm so glad that you listened to my suggestion... Stratus." Stratus gaped in horror, "What do you mean your suggestion!?" Ra grinned, "How else would you of know this was the dungeon? I put the thought into your mind." Becker roared in anger and ran towards the god, "How dare you manipulate my little brother!" Their parents cried out in horror as they watched their oldest son get grabbed by the god, "Ah so you haven't been turned into jackals yet... this could prove to be very beneficial to my cause. This just means that I can turn you into my slaves and you'll tweet away all of Anubis's precious little secrets." Ra slowly pushed his hand towards Becker's face to change him when he gasped in shock as he felt a form slam into him, Becker fell to the floor to see Stratus pushing Ra into a wall. "I guess the football team did me some good after all, eh bro?" Stratus grinned at his older brother, but as he gloated he shivered in shock as Ra grabbed his head. "Well then it looks like your little brother has volunteered." Becker screamed in horror as he watched feathers start to form on his little brother's skin. "No Stratus!" Stratus grunted in pain and was able to turn his head towards Becker, "R... run bro, before he's finished with me..." Becker shook his head, "I won't leave you Stratus!" Stratus waved his hand weakly, "Please bro... we need someone to tell Anubis everything..." Becker chocked back tears and stumbled towards the stairs and glanced back at his younger brother, "I'll save you! I promise!" He ran up the stairs and out the entrance. Stratus stiffened as he felt the changes reach his brain, "B... before I change Ra I need to tell you one thing..." Ra grinned, "Believe me, this will only be the first of many things that you will tell me Stratus." Stratus spit on Ra's chest, "My older brother is going to come in here and kick your ass, and then he's going to wipe the floor up with your face!" Ra grunted in displeasure at being spit on, Stratus groaned in pain as he felt his free will get stripped from him.
Stratus tried to hang onto his will for as long as he could, he watched as his memories flew away from him. He felt tears run down his changing face as he slowly forgot all of his precious friend's faces. He shuddered as he felt his clothes start to sag on him, instead of becoming a large bulky falcon like the rest he was becoming Ra's little birdy. Stratus tried to clutch onto his loyalty to Anubis but felt it being perverted into a hatred for the Jackal god. After a moment he felt the last of his human qualities disappear, his face extended out into a beak. Stratus's body went limp as he felt Ra instill a complete loyalty into him, after a moment the now lithe Falcon stepped back from his master. "I'm so sorry for that my lord, I shall offer any help I can to you." Ra grinned as he watched the now loyal bird bow before him, Stratus's voice was now a soft and melodic one instead of a normal human's. "Good my little bird, now come with me and give me all of Anubis's plans." Stratus grinned up at Ra, "Anything to please you my master." Stratus and Becker's parents watched in tears as their youngest son walked off with the Falcon headed god to his room to plan for the final battle.

Derek looked up in surprise as his bedroom door was slammed open; he had been studying his notes on Ra late into the night. He saw one of the two twins' standing there gasping heavily for breath, "Hey it's you... what happened to you?" Becker stumbled into the room with tears running down his cheeks and rage in his eyes, "It... its Ra... I found out how we can beat him." Derek stood up in surprise, "You did?! How?!" Becker stumbled to the general's bed and sat down, "I'll tell you under a few conditions." Derek cocked his eyebrow in confusion, "What are these conditions?" Becker looked up with bloodlust in his eyes, "First I want you to make me into a Jackal just like you." Derek scratched his snout, "When I first asked you if you wanted to you outright told me no, why the sudden change of heart?" Becker clenched his hands in anger, "That bastard Ra changed my little brother into one of his slaves." Derek's eyes widened in surprise then lowered in sorrow, "I... I'm so sorry for your loss." Becker shook his head, "We're going to be able to turn him back right?" Derek patted the teenager's back, "I hope so, I truly do." Becker looked back up at the general, "My other condition is that I get to fight with you when we attack Ra." Derek rubbed his snout in consideration, "Well I'll have to give you some crash course training, but alright." Becker slowly smiled, "That's good, than I can tell you what Ra's weakness is." Derek sat beside the teenager and leaned in, "What is it?" Becker got a big grin on his face, "His weakness is a special inscription of him." Derek slowly nodded, "Anubis told me about it, but we have no idea where it is." Becker slowly pointed to his head, "I do." Derek's snout slowly shifted into a Jackal's grin, "Well then, I think we'd better wake up Anubis and tell him the good news." As he got up Becker grabbed his arm, "One thing you forgot about." Derek smiled, "I guess you're right, are you ready?" Becker nodded with a solemn look on his face; Derek slowly set his paw on Becker's face. As Becker felt the start of the change he thought about his family and how much he'd hurt Ra. As the changes gripped his body he grunted in slight pain, he stood up as he felt his tail grow in. He winced as he felt his bones stretch out and watched as he got to the size of Derek. His ears popped as they changed position from the side of his head to the top, as his changed finished up he looked himself up and down and grinned showing off his new Jackal teeth. "This will do, though I think the tail will take some getting used to." Derek set his arm on Becker's shoulder and looked the other Jackal in his eyes, "Are you ready to take your brother back?" Becker nodded solemnly and together they walked towards the sleeping god's room to prepare for the final battle.
