An otter surprise
Tiran is in for an otter surprise... that's all i got.
Tiran was packing up to go camping; he had been planning on taking this trip for weeks in advance. The wolf shoved his clothes into his suitcase. "I think that's everything, oh I nearly forgot my map." As he grabbed his map he heard a knock on the door.
He opened it up and saw his friend Michael. The cheetah had a football team hat on his head. "Supporting your team?" Michael took on a confused look the realized what he meant. "Oh this? My girlfriend forced me to bring it." Tiran snickered as his friend walked in. "So where is your girl?" Tiran walked to his suitcase. "She's visiting family."
Michael glanced at Tiran. "Have you met her family yet?" Tiran shook his head. "Got everything for camping?" Tiran threw the map into his suitcase. "Now i do." Tiran followed his friend out the door and locked up.
They drove for three hours and got to the campsite. "Where are the workers?" The two were looking for someone who could direct them towards a good camping spot. "I guess they're taking a break..."
They found a good spot by a river and set up two tents. As they started to collect firewood a otter walked towards them. "Hello there. How are you two doing today?" The otter seemed very cheerful. "We're doing good, and yourself?" The otter beamed at them. "I'm doing well, my wife and I saw you coming in so we thought to introduce ourselves."
As if on cue his wife a dainty antelope walked towards them. "Hello there." She greeted them with the same enthusiasm as her husband. "Hello." Michael seemed annoyed by their cheery disposition. "I'm going to go get some kindling for the fire." He quickly walked into the woods. Not bothered by his friend running off they continued on.
"Oh I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Jerry Korolid, and this is my darling wife Louise." With their perky attitude Tiran wished he had been the one to collect the kindling. "So what brings you two here this week?" Tiran was wishing the couple would leave. "We're just hanging out for the weekend."
The couple continued to talk with no intention of stopping. Tiran was about to snap when a girls voice rang out. "Mom, dad are you there?" Tiran immediately placed the voice. "Oh no..." Tiran's girlfriend popped out from behind a corner. "Oh there you... Tiran?"
"Hi Miranda," He weakly wove at the coming antelope. Her parents looked between them. "Oh you two know each other?" Tiran wanted to jump off a cliff just to escape the conversation. "Mom, dad this is my boyfriend."
Tiran wished a wild bear would jump out and eat him. "Oh so this is your infamous boyfriend." Tiran would even be ok with being shot. "Yes this is him." Tiran briefly thought about jumping in the car and driving away, then remembered that Michael had the keys.
"So have you been taking care of our daughter?" Tiran froze for a moment. "Y... Yes I have," He chuckled for a moment. Before anything else could happen an irritated looking otter walked from behind the corner.
"What's keeping everyone so long?!" Everyone looked at him. "Sorry Tom, we were talking to Miranda's boyfriend." Tom looked at Tiran then looked to Miranda. "Really, a wolf?" Tiran winced at this comment.
Miranda seemed as embarrassed as Tiran at the conversation going on. "Shut up Tom!" Her father snapped his fingers apparently just having had an epiphany. "Why don't we invite Tiran over to have dinner?" Both Miranda and Tiran started to object but before they knew it Tiran was being pushed towards the family's camp.
While they waited for the food to be finished cooking Miranda pulled Tiran aside. "I'm so sorry about this Tiran." Tiran shook his head. "Its fine, I would've met them sooner or later." Miranda shook her head. "No you wouldn't have." This confused Tiran. "Why wouldn't I?"
Miranda was about to answer but then her mother called them for dinner. She chewed on her lip for a moment, "Just... don't eat any of the food, ok?" Before Tiran could ask why she grabbed him by the hand and dragged him to the table. As he sat down the powerful smell of fish hit him in the face. It took all of his will to prevent himself from eating it. "Why don't you dig in?" Miranda's father looked at him. "I'm not that hungry right now," But as he said that his stomach rumbled. "Oh you don't have to be polite; we're used to peoples eating habits." Miranda looked at him and slowly shook her head. "I'm not that big a fan of fish..." He once again tried to make an excuse but they seemed to have a way around that as well. "Oh you don't have to worry, its tofu fish." Tiran was flabbergasted, "They make tofu fish?" The family nodded, "You see Jerry has a slight allergy to regular fish." Tiran felt like running away but was afraid of being rude. "Just one bite won't hurt..." As he raised the fork to his mouth Miranda was rapidly jerking her head to the sides. As he took a bite of the meat she hung her head in defeat. The fish despite being tofu was actually very delicious. Tiran succumbed to his hunger and started to eat the rest of the fish. Miranda excused herself and walked off to go into a tent. After having another fish Tiran excused himself and walked over to the tent. Miranda was waiting inside for him; she had a sad face on her look. "What's wrong Miranda?" Miranda sighed and walked up to Tiran, "Take off your shirt." Tiran stepped back, "Um, isn't it a bit stupid to do that thing around your parents?" She glared at him, "It's not like that. Now take off your shirt." He sighed and took off his shirt, "Alright I did it... what is that?" Tiran looked at his stomach, instead of the normal white fur that was usually there a smooth light brown fur was spreading from his stomach.
"You see my parents don't really like wolves but they've taken a liking to you. So they took it in their hands to "save you" from being a wolf." Tiran blinked and watched as the brown spread further up, "How did you know this was going to happen?" Miranda sighed and sat on her cot, "I heard them talking about it once when I told them when I was dating you." Tiran frowned and watched at the fur encroached ever further. Tiran frowned, "If they don't like wolves then why did they come up to me so freely?" Miranda shook her head then suddenly sat up stiff as a board. "I... might've told them where you were camping..." She put her head in her hands, "I'm sorry, this is all my fault." Tiran shook his head and sat next to her, "It'll be alright, I'll just have to readjust." Tiran suddenly shuddered as the transformation reached his tail; he looked at his arms and saw the transformation had also reached his arms. Tiran smiled at Miranda and stood up, "I'll be back in a minute, I just need some fresh air."
Tiran quickly slid his shirt back on and slipped outside the tent. "How are you doing Tiran?" Tiran jumped as Miranda's father walked up to him, "Oh... I'm doing fine." He smiled and tried to slip away, "Oh wait Tiran I wanted to ask if you would be willing to stay with us tonight?" Tiran shook his head, "My friend has a bit of a fear of the dark so I shouldn't leave him too long..." Michael would kill him if he heard what Tiran was making up. Jerry frowned, "Well I hope that you'll change your mind."
Tiran walked out into the forest and took off his shirt again and saw that the brown fur had completely overtaken his stomach and chest. "Damn it, it's going fast..." Tiran watched as his muzzle shortened a bit, his eyes itched for a moment as they changed. His quickly changing hands touched his ears and felt that they no longer were pointed but now rounded. Tiran found his thoughts were becoming more cheerful. "Why am I feeling so happy?" The changes finally finished and a newly made otter stood in the woods. Tiran scratched his head, "What was I thinking about a moment ago?" He thought on it for a few moments then realized that his pants were loose. "Why are my pants so loose?" He felt a tap on his shoulder and he turned around, "Oh there you are Tiran, you forgot your change of clothes." Tiran found Jerry standing in front of him, "Oh thank you, for some reason I was wearing disgusting wolf clothing." Jerry grimaced, "Let's not talk about wolves, dang otter killers." Tiran nodded, "I couldn't imagine what's wrong with them." After Tiran finished changing Jerry started to guide him back, "Oh Tiran I was wondering if you had changed your mind on whether or not you might stay with us?" Tiran laughed, "Of course, I have no idea why I was staying with that cheetah." The two otters went back to the camp. Tiran's girlfriend also seemed much happier when they returned. "I forgot to take my medicine earlier, but mom thankfully reminded me." Tiran soon was happily sitting along with the family having left all worries behind with his transformation.
