Life as a Werewolf chap 4
#4 of Life as a Werewolf Series
teen girl werewolf story^^
My little sister, who was seven, was setting the table. All the silverware was backwards. I rolled my eyes and turned it all around. Katie glared at me. I shrugged and sat down at my usual spot.
Amy was already sitting beside me. I didn't want anything to do with her, so I went to get up and move when Nick sat down on the other side of me. I glared at him. He looked taken aback.
"You're an idiot," I muttered. I always wanted to tell him that, but could never get myself to do it. He stared at me. I rolled my eyes as my mom, dad, and Britt sat down at the table. My stomach started feeling queasy, and the churning went on. Everyone started eating, but the pasta in front of my just looked...unappealing.
"Do we have any meatballs?" I heard myself ask.
Everyone looked up.
"No, not tonight," my mom said slowly. "I'm sorry."
Suddenly, my stomach lurched I knew I was going to throw up.
"Om, be right back," I said and ran to the bathroom. I shut the door quietly behind me as my breathing got fast. What was happening? I ran to the toilet...but the feeling was gone. I ran a hand through my bangs and stood, going to the mirror. I gasped and I tried not to scream. There was a knock at the bathroom door.
"Honey, are you okay?" it was my mom.
"Gah, I think I'm sick," I replied. "I'll be out then." I replied.
"You're sick? Sweetie, why did you run upstairs to go to the bathroom, and not just go in the one downstairs?" Cause I wanted to be far away from everyone, a voice inside of my head muttered.
"Om, I didn't want you guys to have to listen to me be sick I guess," I said quickly.
"What would you like me to do?"
"Nothing...nothing, mom. Thanks. I'm heading to b-...bed then. I'm sorry."
"Oh, it's ok. I'll come in then to"-
"No!" I called suddenly. "I mean, no that's ok. I just would like to be alone.
"Alright, hon. Hope you feel better." There was a hesitation before I heard footsteps leaving back downstairs to the kitchen.
In the mirror, hair was sprouting out of my face.
"This isn't happening..." I whispered. My legs and arms started growing longer. Sharp claws poked out from my fingers. I could see my ribs now, as my belly button faded and disappeared into thick wolf-like fur. My nose and mouth grew into a long narrow muzzle. Gray pointed ears came out of the top of my head, once my regular ears disappeared. A tail was forming. It was not long and fluffy, but short and bony with a few strands of fur on it. No. It wasn't. I was dreaming again. I looked at my reflection. My head was that of a wolf but with pointer ears and shorter fur. My eyes were greener than usual. My breathing was so fast I couldn't even count the breaths I took in a single second.
I looked at my hands. Almost like paws but more like...hands with thick black pads on them. My claws were long, sharp, and shiny. They were a milky color. My muscles were that of a humans and my arms were long. I found it hard to stand. I saw I had kept my elbow and knee. My legs looked weird. They were really long. My thigh was muscular and large. My feet were huge. If I hadn't kept my knee and thigh I would've had wolf legs. This new body felt so weird. Almost lighter and more flexible. This new me could run fast.
And then there was something almost pulling at my head. Drawing me to the woods. Then a tickling in my throat. Something inside of me twisted. I soon found the need to yell...or howl I guess. I fought it back, but I could not take the pulling feeling. It was making me itch all over. My ears twitched. The bathroom door was shut. I drug my new body awkwardly over to it and fit my paws around it. The pads gripped it well, better than hands it seemed. Great traction.
If I wen t to that door, where would I go? I struggled over to the window and tried to open it. This body hardly fit in the bathroom, and it made it extremely hard to turn around. This was more of a challenge, and I couldn't open the window. I was starting to get claustrophobic in the small bathroom. I couldn't work this body right.
Suddenly the door swung open. Katie was gaping at me. I backed up until my back legs got tangled, and I tripped over my own feet, falling onto my butt. I had to get out. My instinct was to get out. Get out or kill the girl. Yes, kill the girl. I stepped towards her. Whoa. What was I thinking? She was my sister! I couldn't kill her even if I wanted to. This new me was poisoning my mind.
I pulled my glare away from the doll face, and glanced at the mirror. My eyes were bright yellow. Then red. It seemed they changed color according to...how mad I was. Weird. The hair on my back bristled up and I suddenly growled at my own reflection. The thing in my head pulled me towards the woods, driving me crazy.
I was suddenly aware of every little detail. My vision focused like I was trying on a new pair of glasses. Katie's tiny dimples. I didn't even know she had dimples. Every single strand of hair on her head. I could see all the different colors of her locks. And the way she smelled. She smelled good. Not good as in flowers, but good as in appetizing. I could see the one side of her curly bronze hair was the slightest bit longer than the other. Her one eye was greener than the other. I smelled so many smells. I could smell the water in the sink. The soap. Even the towel had a unique smell.
The thing in my head jerked me towards the woods again. I had to get out of the house. The small space was making me angrier.
I could not bear the pulling any longer. I turned and threw myself against the glass of the window. Easily the glass shattered under my new found weight. I fell two stories and clashed to the ground. My feet felt like they went through my back. My body felt even heavier than before. I forced myself up and limped slowly towards the woods. Suddenly the pain faded like it was never there. I realized I was on four legs. That wasn't right. I stood. My body felt heavy and off balance. I fell to my front paws again. This was weird.
I took a step with my front left leg and my back right. Slowly I walked. This was actually pretty easy after you got the hang of it. I sort of liked this. The lightness of the body. Flexibility. Strength. I found I was swishing my tail as I walked. This was easier than walking as a human. It was almost impossible to fall.
I didn't have to look at where I was stepping like I always did before I got bit by...by that werewolf. As I hard as it was to believe, it was real. There I was. One myself.
The thing in my head stopped pulling as I entered the woods. I stayed on the edge, close to the sidewalk. I was starving, especially since I missed both dinner and lunch. The coolness of the wind felt good. It rustled my hair...fur. Wow. That was weird to think. I sort of felt like running, but something on the sidewalk made me stop and cock my wolf head to the side.
I could hear the breathing of the human as he walked. He was a middle-aged man that was balding and had a long beard. He was strolling along in a huge coat with fur on the hood. My nose twitched and I smelled something. And somehow I knew. I knew what the werewolf enjoyed mostly to eat. The way humans smelled... A growl ripped through my teeth.
The man shoved his hands into his pockets and whistled. He hadn't heard me. I knelt down and slithered along the ground. Like Katie, he too smelled way too appetizing to resist. I was so quiet, I could hardly tell I was moving. But I was mobile, and I was moving swiftly. The whistling hurt me sensitive ears. I breathed in his scent.
Wait a minute. What was I doing? I couldn't kill this guy! What did he ever do to me? I stopped stalking and stood up. What was I thinking? I turned to go deeper into the woods. After a little while I broke off into a little opening where Amy had brought me. I sniffed around it. Instantly I smelled something distant. I couldn't describe the smell, but I just knew I never smelled it before. This was so...wild.
