LoS: A New Age Chapter 6
Decided on new name, and also I will try to fit someone in here for him. That's going to be complicated. Yes, I did call Spyro a fish.
The characters in this story belong to Sierra and/or Etranges Libellules. Except for Fyre (:D)
The next morning Spyro was woke by Cynder who was shaking him, and yelling for him to get up. "Spyro! Get up!" Cynder was yelling.
"What?" Spyro replied groggily.
"The forest nearby, it's on fire!"
"What!" Spyro said more concerned then confused. "Let's go!"
They bolted out of the cave and went to the area that was burning.
"Spyro, we need to do something!"
"You blow out the smaller fires and I'll freeze the larger parts."
"Will that work?"
"We can only hope."
Cynder ran off blowing cool gusts of wind on the smaller areas of fire. Spyro flew above the fire, getting directly above the center. He dove straight down shooting ice out of the back of his throat, the ice melted but didn't heat up fast enough to evaporate and went straight into the fire. Just before he was about to hit the ground he leveled out, still spraying ice on the fire. Within an hour they had put the fire out and doused it enough to where it wouldn't heat back up.
"How did this happen? I don't think it's hot enough to start brush fires right now." Spyro said
"It was me." A voice said in a hushed tone, "I started this fire."
"Why? Who are you?" Spyro said back
"My name is Fyre. I didn't intentionally start the fire, it's just..." A dark green dragon, about the same age as Spyro, stepped out from behind a charred tree. He had his face down saying, "I can't control myself, that's why I'm alone."
Spyro and Cynder looked on in awe. "Your...your..." Spyro started.
"I know, I'm a beast. That's what they all say."
"No, I was going to say your just like us."
"What...?" Fyre finally looked up and found himself just as shocked. "Are you that purple dragon everyone's been talking about? Are you Spyro?"
"Yes, but how did you know about me, I thought you were alone."
"I am but people come through here often, telling me about the world."
"Tell us some things you've heard recently." Cynder said.
(Insert Here) peered at Cynder and then shook himself, muttering, "That's impossible."
"What's impossible?" Cynder questioned.
"Are you, by chance, a..you know, female?"
"You've got to be kidding me." Cynder looked at Spyro, "Are you hearing this guy?"
"What did I do."
"OF COURSE I'M A FEMALE!" Cynder yelled at him.
"Ok, I'm sorry, I just thought..."
"What?" Cynder said, a little more calmly.
"Well, I had heard that the female dragons were gone."
"Back to the fire problem..." Spyro said before they could get into it again.
"Okay, ever since I was younger I had a thing for fire. I normally didn't hurt anything, even though I couldn't control it. Well, one day, I was out looking around at the forest and things when, out of nowhere, a bunch of apes appeared. They came in and tied me up. They started carrying me away, but before they got very far I saw some apes try to do the same with my parents. They wouldn't have it so they tried to fight back. The apes then decided they were to much trouble and just killed them. I screamed and broke free from the monkeys that carried me. I then felt an unspeakable rage and let loose so much fire I burned down nearly a mile of forest. Ever since then I couldn't control my fire and had to get away from others. So I came out here, where you find me now."
"I think I can help you control this fire. Are you willing to learn?" Spyro said.
Fyre excitedly agreed.
"Okay, we don't have the commodities I did. So, your going to use other things as dummies. Think of something that would make you angry, get yourself upset enough to start spewing flames. Once you do this think of better thoughts, something calming. Now try it."
Fyre thought of his parents dieing, the rage lifting up in him. He let it build up and then, when he could no longer control it, let it out. He then thought of water, it's cooling effects, and of it's smooth look. He felt the rage leave him, along with the flames.
"Very good, try this multiple times and then we shall move on." Spyro said.
After a few more tries Spyro told him, "Now we need to focus the fire on your target. Just imagine that it's this tree here," Spyro points a claw at a charred tree, "trying to kill your parents."
He did as he was told and, after a few tries, managed to perfect this. "Now what?" Fyre asked.
"That's all you need to know, although more practice might help." Spyro said.
Cynder finally decided to talk again and said, "So what are you going to do now?"
"I don't know..."
"You could...stay with us." Cynder continued. She thought of Spyro and how she would probaly lose time with him. Other's first Cynder. She told herself.
"Well, aren't you two...mates?" Fyre asked
Spyro looked down and messed with a piece of charred wood while Cynder, although blushing, said "Friends." She was glad her scales didn't show her blushing.
"Okay, I guess i'll stay with you guys. Where are you headed anyway?"
"We're just going around until we find somewhere suitable to stay. Oh and by the way we're kind of more then friends. We're...How do I put it?" She thought for a moment. "We're kind of trapped together...forever." That word echoed in her mind.
"Why...?"
"Show him Spyro."
Spyro started walking away from Cynder and after a few steps the snakes appeared on their necks.
"Malefor made these himself and, unless we find twenty more dragons like purple pompano over there, then we're trapped together by this." Cynder stated
"I'm going to forget about that." Fyre said. "Just don't want to kill my brain cells with pointless wondering."
"Okay Fyre, let's get going then. We should probaly get going, find a bigger one then our last one. That would be just wrong for the three of us." Spyro said.
They took off, flying in the normal direction. After a few minutes they found a larger cave and flew down to go in and sleep since they didn't plan on taking their chances like last time. Before they went to sleep Cynder asked, "Why didn't your parents take you to the temple?"
"My parents didn't think they were guarding them well enough and, to my luck, kept me with them."
Fyre went and laid down near the front of the cave while Spyro went all the way to the back. Cynder looked for a comfortable place to lay but couldn't find one she wanted. After a minute she realized she was shivering. Spyro looked up and said, "Do you, since your cold, want to lay with me?"
"Thanks but..." She paused before saying, "Only because I'm cold."
She went over to him and he allowed her to lay down. Then he put his wing around her and pulled her close. So nice... Cynder thought. They went to sleep together that night.
Fyre who saw the whole thing thought, If they don't at least like each other then I didn't just burn down part of the forest a couple minutes behind us. He puffed out a ring of smoke from his nostrils and went to sleep.
