Lessons In Happiness - Part 6
Well, obviously it's been a long time since I uploaded any seireses (ignore the spelling, I simply don't care) and I first, apologize for the huge delay and second hope you still enjoy it. Not sure if it's entirely done, to me it seems to chop off at the end, but I haven't felt like writing in a really long time so I'll post it and hopefully later feel like continuing the series. Hopefully the formatting isn't all jacked Lessons In Happiness - Part 6 The next day, Pinkie Pie was hosting a party in the afternoon as a celebration that Sugar Cube Corner was still standing. Not surprisingly, she had me as the guest of honor. However, the party was just over an hour away, so I continued lying in the grass on my back, soaking up the shimmering rays of the sun. My eyes were closed, but I could tell that somepony had moved a cloud right above where I was resting. "Rainbow Dash, is that you?" "Yep, you got me." She said, moving the cloud to the side. "So what are you doing?" "Just lying around, taking a small nap before the party. Enjoying the beautiful weather that you pegasi made for today." "No biggie, we have clear skies the rest of the week too." "That's good... I'll really enjoy that." "Hey Zain, today is like, a week after you got here. Can you believe that much time passed by so quickly?" "Nope, it didn't hardly feel like a week." I said calmly before realizing something. "Hang on, a week? Oh crud, it's been a week!" I said, bolting upright. "Wait, what's so bad about that?" "Umm, nothing. I-I've gotta go, ok? See ya around." I said, getting up and trotting off. "Uhh, ok then. See ya at the party!" ________________ "How could've this slipped my mind?" I said to myself, pacing back and forth. "My wings and horn could grow back at any moment, and all eyes would be on me at the party. Oh god, what should I do, what should I do!" I shouted, slamming my skull against a nearby tree in frustration. "Maybe, maybe they won't grow until after the party, then I can just leave and take care of them myself when they come when I'm alone! Yea, I'll do that. That'll work." I started back towards Sugar Cube Corner, my head still panicking a little but hoping it would all turn out ok. It would be fine, nothing bad would happen. I mean, what are the odds that it would happen during the party? ________________ I arrived a few minutes early, so it was just me in the main room along with a few other ponies while Pinkie Pie finished up in the kitchen. Soon, however, the rest of the ponies showed up just as Pinkie Pie finished putting out all the sweets. I took my seat at the head of a large table and felt a slight itch in the two spots I'd hoped wouldn't do anything during the party. I nervously rubbed my back against the chair to try and stifle the tingling in the middle of my back, and I dared not to draw attention to the top of my skull. "Thank you everypony who was able to make it to the party!" Pinkie Pie started, the twinges I was feeling only growing stronger. "I'd like to personally thank Zain and everypony else who helped him stop the dest ruction of Sugar Cube Corner! Because, I mean, if he didn't do what he did we wouldn't even be having this party!" It was going to happen. There was no way in Equestria I'd be able to push it off for more than a minute, if that. Suddenly, all the ponies let out a cheer and music started playing. I jumped up and ran to Pinkie Pie. "Thanks for the party, but I've really really got to be going." I said, heading towards the door. "But wait, the party just started, don't go just yet." She pleaded, making me stop in my tracks. I was so close to the door, but I turned around. "I'd love to stay, but I've got some things to do..." "Like what?" "I-umm," I was out of time, they were growing back, right now. My eyes were wide in horror as I dove under a table just as the process started. Over the course of twenty seconds I let out a muffled scream of agony as the wings burst from my back and a horn formed on my head. As the pain stopped I ceased my groans, but I found that was the only noise that filled the air. Everypony was quiet and undoubtably looking at the table that I was under. I heard two ponies approach, but they didn't peek under the table. "Umm, Zain? Are you feeling ok?" I heard Pinkie Pie ask. "No, not at all. I-I'd appreciate it if you would all just leave now though..." "Zain, what's going on?" Twilight asked. "Nothing, go away..." "Zain, come on. Please come out?" "No." "Come on, I'm sure whatever happened isn't that bad." "Yes it is, go away." "Zain, we can't help unless we know what's going on." "F-fine." I said, swallowing the lump in my throat. I climbed out from under the table and stood up, hanging my head in shame as a gasp fell over the crowd. Minutes passed before anypony said anything. "Z-Zain, you're an... An alicorn?" I heard Twilight ask. "Yes, I've had this... This curse ever since I was born..." "Zain, you don't have a curse, what you have is, well, an incredibly rare gift. Why were you hiding it?" "Well, where I was born and raised they saw it as a curse, a truly horrid thing to have. So, whenever they grew back, well, they'd be c-cut off." "Zain, that's horrible!" "Well, after the first few years you get used to it..." I said, struggling to even just get them folded at my sides. "Why did you feel that you had to hide this from us?" "It's because I-I've really grown to like you all, and I thought that if you knew you'd see me as a freak..." Applejack walked up to me and placed a hoof on my shoulder. "Zain, we would never think you were a freak. Why, anythin about you only makes ya that much more special." "Yea Zain," Pinkie Pie chimed in. "You're an amazing colt, and you're our friend!" "Yea, I mean, come on Zain! Why'd ya hide something so cool! I mean, now I know I can race you in the skies in stead of on the ground!" "Actually, I don't know how to fly, or how to use magic." "But you have wings!" Rainbow Dash said hovering over where she was. "It should come naturally!" I looked down and kicked at the floor, unsure really how to say I'd never had the chance to do either things. "Zain, as your friend I'll do whatever I can to teach you magic, as long as you'd like to." "And I shall help, whenever I have time between orders!" "Yea, same here! We've got your back when it comes to flying! I mean, I'm sure Fluttershy would even help if you asked her." Rainbow Dash said as Fluttershy nodded behind her. "R-really? You'd all do that for me?" "Absolutely!" They all said at the same time. A smile spread across my face as I quickly hugged each one. "Thank you all so much... I'm so glad that I met you all, and I know I've said that before but I really really am." "So, is everypony ready to par-tay?!?!?" Pinkie Pie shouted as everypony yelled back in agreement.
