#1 of Zachi and Ryan

I woke up in a strange place, feeling grass beneath my pads, yet when I opened my eyes, I saw black, nothing anywhere. I wipe my eyes to see if that would help, but I still saw nothing. All of a sudden, I feel a stinging pain on my left eye, it feeling like a thousand needles poking at it. I didn't know why, but when I reached my paw up to feel, I felt a deep cut go down across my left eye. I couldn't understand how it got there. I was lost, hungry, tired, and most of all, lonely. But I look around anyways, hoping there might be someone that could help me. But it was so dark...

"Maybe it is dark here...wherever here is..." I said to myself, trying to look around. "How did I end up here, and why? I can't seem to remember anything..." I thought long and hard, but just couldn't remember anything. I shrugged, and then found I was very thirsty, my mouth feeling like dry sandpaper. I walked around in the supposed darkness, searching for anything that sounded like water. I then felt something warm shining on me, like the sun.

"But how can there be a sun out here? It so dark, there is no way..." I said to myself. I finally hear a stream nearby, and head towards it, the darkness making it difficult for me to see where I was going. I suddenly trip on something, and roll forward, falling into what must have been the stream because I started to feel very wet and cold all of a sudden. I flailed my legs, trying to get back up for air. I finally make it up, but quickly go down again. I get myself up again and start yelling for help...

Meanwhile, somewhere close to where Zachi was...

"Ok! I think I have all the berries I need! Now I just need to get some water, and I should be good and stocked for awhile." I said as I slung the bag on my shoulder and skipped happily down the trail that lead to my secret water spot, the one I found a while back while trailing down there. When I got there, I put the bag down and went over to drink a bit, the water cool and refreshing on my tongue.

I was a Riolu, and an interesting one at that. I was black and grey instead of the black and blue that most Riolu's were. It made me feel special, but the others always made fun of me for it. But I don't let them get to me. I am who I am, and nothing will ever change that.

As I was done drinking, I suddenly heard yelling, and saw something coming down the stream, it going up and down, yelling for help. Dropping everything I had, I quickly built up my power, and then used my speed and agility to quickly run and jump over to the thing in the water. I land next to it, and quickly grab it before jumping on the water to the other side of the stream. I then set it down and looked closely at it. It was an Eevee! A weird looking one to. It was a silverish grey with a darker grey on his mane. He had a tuft of orange on the top of his head, and his right ear was black. But I noticed it wasn't breathing either, so I quickly use my power to bring a black aura over my paws, and then I thrust them on the Eevee's chest. Seeing that the first one didn't work, I did it again, hoping I could save this guy's life...

As that was happening, I found myself in a huge plain, which had nothing there but flowers. I then see a Grey wolf, standing next to an Eevee, both of them with a smile on their face. They seemed very important to me, yet I couldn't remember a thing. I started to run after them, calling out to them. But then they walked away, and the world again turned black on me...

I suddenly jolt upward and gasp, spurting water out of my mouth in the process. As soon as all the water was out of me, I laid there tired, breathing heavily. I suddenly notice that I wasn't alone, and that there was a paw holding me, stabilizing me.

"Are you ok?" The figure asked with a tone of concern in his voice.

"I t-think so..." I said as I started to breath normally, then I shivered as I was very wet, the cold unbearable. I then notice the paw on me start to feel really warm, and then my whole body felt warm, my fur drying off quickly.

"There now, all dry and warm!" The figure said excitedly. I then feel the figure help me to my feet. "I'm glad you're safe. If you don't mind me asking, how did you fall in there?"

"I don't know. I woke up in this strange dark place, and I couldn't see anything, so I walked around and tripped and rolled down until I splashed in the water..." I explained, hearing a slight gasp from the figure.

"You poor thing. And what do you mean it's dark? It's like, super bright today. I mean, you would have to be blind or something to not see the forest at its peak."

"But I can't see anything..." Then it hit me. I was blind! I start to tear up, and fall back down to the floor. "H-h-how did this happen?" I said lowly as I started to cry, the realization to powerful not too. The figure must have realized this, because he then felt arms wrap around him.

"It's ok, I am here. What is wrong?" he asked in a worried tone. I look up to where I thought he was, tears streaming down my eyes like a waterfall.

"I t-t-think I am b-blind!" I said as I started to cry harder. "I don't know how! Why is this happening?!" I said as I looked around in darkness. I felt the arms around me grip me tighter, and him starting to talk to me with a soothing tone.

"Shhh...It's ok. I will help you through this. As I always say...everything happens for a reason. I am sure that there is a reason for your blindness." He then started humming a melody, something I remembered when I was younger. I stopped crying and started to drift off, the toll of everything that happened taking effect. I managed to whisper a thank you to the figure before I fell asleep.

I watch the Eevee fall asleep, my melody doing what it was meant to do. It was something I had learned from my mom long ago. She said that only a few families knew it, and that it was as old as time itself. It had a mysterious power that would make the listener forget their problems and fall asleep. It was very useful, especially to the Eevee on my lap. I was glad that it worked.

"Well...I should get him back to my house then." I said as I picked him up and put him on my back. I then ran off, leaving my stuff behind. I would have to come back and get them later...I had more pressing matters at hand.

About twenty minutes later, I made my way passed a bush that had a sign reading, "Beware of arrows!" and I entered a clearing. I looked around, sighing in content. I was looking at a tree that was cut out at the base, which had a makeshift curtain at the entrance. I walked over to it and moved the curtain out of the way, revealing a good sized room. It had a little bed in the far right corner, where I slept at night. It also had a bench were I would make my salves and other things. I had personally carved pictures into the wood walls, showing my little adventures that I was proud of. I walked over to the bed and put the Eevee on it, looking happy as he slept peacefully.

"I am so happy you are ok...I don't know what I would do if you died on me." I said as I walked back to the entrance, looking back at the Eevee. "I hope you and me can be friends. I will help you as much as I can. I will be back...I have to collect my things from the stream." And I left the tree, running towards the stream. As I was doing that, the Eevee back in the tree was starting to have a nightmare...
