A/N So, my first story. I know it's a cliché idea, but hey, I'm a sucker for these kind of stories. All criticism is welcome and encouraged. Most chapters of this story are already finished, and will upload them dependent on comments.

Chapter One: New Arrival

It was the same mundane routine for the fox known as Streak. Wake up, turn off the cacophony that is known as an alarm clock, take a shower, grab breakfast and head to school. He had been doing this same routine for several years and he could do it with his eyes shut.

Streak was a red fox, 16 years of age, with the stereotypical black socks on his paws and black tips on his ears. He was the envy of the entire neighbourhood with the softest and fluffiest tail in the area, which looked like a paintbrush with the very tip dipped in black paint, and a white ring separating the black from the red. Like most foxes he had a white chest, however, he also had a black streak running up the middle of his chest. Upon the right side of his maw was a black zigzag mark, which was mirrored on the other side of his maw, except in white. Streak stood at a modest 5ft8 and had a muscular, yet not overly so, slim build. Overall, he didn't stand out, but his looks still drew quite a few glances when out in public.

As he neared the entrance to the dreaded building that is known as school, he met up with a few of his friends who were babbling excitedly about something or other. Streak could only make out a few words every now and then, such as "new", "someone", "fox", "cute", "hybrid" and "wolf". Streak was officially confused and even when he asked one of his friends to explain what exactly was going on, they just ignored him and continued gossiping. Eventually Streak made his way to his classroom for registration, another mundane part of the mundane day when the whole room fell quiet. The door slowly opened, and in stepped the most beautiful creature Streak had ever seen. He looked like a mixture of a fox and a wolf, a combination that Streak had never seen before. He had soft, blue, almost azure, fur. He was tall, nearing 6ft3, and like Streak, had a muscular yet slim build. His tail matched Streak's in softness from the look of it. This mysterious creature walked over to the teacher, handed him a letter and waited silently for him to read it.

"Okay class, this is Tye Laurent. He has transferred over here from London. As is customary, I want you to treat him kindly and make sure his first impressions of this school are good. You can choose any seat you want to sit in Tye. I trust you have your timetable already?" Tye only nodded in answer, and padded his way silently over to the seat furthest away from anyone else in the class. Streak looked into Tye's eyes as he walked past, and was shocked at what he saw. Streak saw such sadness, desperation and hopelessness in those eyes that a wave of sympathy washed over him and decided that no one should ever be that unhappy and made it his goal to help him as much as he could. Streak attempted several times to make eye contact with Tye, but to no avail. Tye just looked forward with a blank look on his face. The entire double period of class they had was spent by Streak trying to get the attention of Tye, being caught several times by his friends who started sniggering at his attempts, which were in vain. Eventually, the teacher got fed up of trying to ask questions to Streak who couldn't even hear them being asked as he was so focused on the folf.

As the bell rang, signalling the beginning of break time, Streak packed his bag and headed over to the folf. Streak stood for several awkward seconds before holding out his paw and saying "Hi, I'm Streak. I saw that no one else in class seemed to want to talk to you so I decided to take it upon myself to welcome you to Dundee High School". The folf just stared at the paw and tilted his head in confusion.

"Is there something you want from me? Because that's usually the only reason why anyone talks to me" the folf said quietly. 'Wow, this guy has been hurt more than I thought before' thought Streak. 'I'm more determined than ever to help him now'. "I don't want anything from you, apart from maybe get to know you and to make you feel welcome here" Streak said with a smile. Now Tye tilted his head even more, completely and utterly confused.

"Okay...But no one has ever wanted to know about me before..." Streak couldn't believe the words being uttered out of the folf's mouth and was determined to never let him be hurt again.

"Come on, Tye. I wanna show you around the school" As Streak said this, he grabbed Tye's paw and lead him off, not looking behind and noticing the blush that had appeared on the folf's face as he glanced down at the fox's paws entwined with his own.
