Foresight and Luck Part 11: Optimism
#11 of Foresight and Luck series
It's been so long let's see if I can still salvage my watchers as well as this story. This is a really short story because in the process of writing this I felt that I was forcing myself to write too much and it may have affected the story. Please give me feedback.
Be warned of the homosexuality.
"I'm moving."
Ayden just stared in disbelief as the sobbing cougar dropped a stone on his heart. All the panda could do was stare, heartbroken, as tears indicated his torment as it did for his cougar. Zeke now had his face in his paws as he sobbed over the despair of loosing his love.
Ayden tried to open his mouth to say something, but the words were caught in his throat as his tears and emotions took hold of him.
"Why," he said it out loud but it was all he could think of. 'Why is he moving?' 'Why now?' 'Why does this have to happen?'
The cougar looked over at the shock stricken panda and answered between sobs, "M-my Grandpa developed cancer and...and the doctors aren't giving him long to live...and since he doesn't want to live in the hospital, we have to take care of him." Zeke was wiping the tears from his eyes.
Ayden's heart sunk even more. Not only was he losing the most important person in his life, that person's family was dying. "Where does he live?"
"New Mexico." Zeke answered as his breaths were steadied and his tears had stopped.
Ayden looked over at Zeke, putting a paw on his shoulder, "But hun, it's for your family. You have to go."
Zeke's eyes got more fearful as the one person to make him stay, the only reason he's in this hard situation was siding with his parents, "I can't go where you're not."
Ayden opened his mouth to respond, but then he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He pulled it out to see it was a call from an unknown number. He slid his phone open and answered, "Hello?"
"Ayden! Thank goodness you answered," it was Kathy, "Listen, Zeke rushed out of the house so fast we couldn't explain everything. Could you both please, Please, come back to the house so we may finish."
Zeke tried to listen in on the conversation, but the panda had better hearing than the cougar so the phone was naturally turned down so only Ayden could hear.
"Okay," Ayden responded.
Kathy let out a sigh of relief, "Great, we'll see you both back here soon."
Ayden slid the phone shut and looked over at his cougar, "Let's go."
Zeke looked in disbelief at Ayden, "You can't mean back to my house?"
"Yes back to your house," Ayden took Zeke's paw in his, "Trust me if they don't change their minds we will think of something.
New tears were in Zeke's eyes as he was fearful of what could happen. The cougar held his love's paw tight and leaned over so his muzzle got closer to Ayden's they closed their eyes. They kissed gently and tenderly yet that kiss expressed all their love for the other.
Ayden slowly pulled away from the kiss and looked his cougar in the eyes, "Come on let's get this over with."
Zeke was hesitant but he nodded. The cougar put the car in gear and drove his way back to his house while holding his red panda's hand as much as he could. Zeke would also spare his eyes from the road if he knew it was safe just to glance into Ayden's eyes.
