Choose your own path Pt5
#6 of Choose your own
You bow to the beautiful elven maiden, and casually jog back down the zig zag corridor, wondering about how to cross the cave. At least you get ten minutes to think on it before you're staring at the crystal waters and the same old rickety bridge. For a moment you're tempted to slip off your shoes and dive in, but you decide the bridge to be a safer option.
But rather than walking across, you quickly get down onto your knees, sword in both hands, developing an effective crawling pattern to spread the weight of your body over as much of the bridge as is possible. As you put your arms and sword on and gingerly climb on, it groans, it creaks, but it supports your weight.
As you tenderly crawl over the bridge, such a cacophany of sound meets your ears, as if the bridge is in mortal agony, but the damndest thing is that it supports your weight, something that should just not be possible. Even more interesting, as you come to the edge of the journey across the perilous bridge, you noticed a nearly new sign on the bridge pointing the way you have to go. You get off the bridge, thankful, and look at the sign.
"Danger, do not swim, alligators in the water."You are almost tempted to swear, but then just sigh and continue on. Someone clearly has a mean humour around here. But soon your thoughts of the bridge are vanished by something else.
You have arrived in a room, a small room with lots of tiny rocks lying around, as if the roof collapsed once and no one cleaned it up, and in the centre is a small altar with the most beautiful, beautiful gem stone, just like the elf wanted. You walk over to it.
I don't make the choice, what do you do now? And roll a D6 dice for me, for amusement purposes.
