#1 of A Husky's Surprise

**CHAP 5 IS HEEEEEEERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!**

"So, uhm," Jake started, "Casey, uh, how old are ya?" he questioned cheerfully, then realizing only after he said it that it was a kind of out-of-nowhere question; all he was tryin' to do was make conversation.

"I'm, uh, I'm 16," Casey responded with a puzzled look, probably wondering why he was asked such a random question.

"Hey, so am I. When's your birthday?" Jake posed.

"February 20th, 1993, and yourself?" Casey replied.

"March 23rd, '93," Jake offered with a smile.

"Cool, cool.." Casey answered.

This last statement by Case had seemingly ended the conversation, but that was when Jake moved from beside me and over beside Casey, leaving me walking all the way to the left, Casey in the middle and JJ now all the way to the right.

"So, would you like to tell me some more about yourself, Casey?" Jake asked kindly, his paws in his pockets, not at all timidly, but acting more as if he was the cool kid in school who was being nice to the new kid.

"Not at this particular moment.." Casey posed, as I could tell what he had told us in the food court was still bugging him. He was walking with his paws in his pockets as well, but he was facing downward for the most part, although looking up enough to still be able to look at the path we were taking. His ears were splayed, flattened against his head, his tail completely still, his eyes were half-lidded in a sad-faced fashion, and his muzzle was stuck in a frown.

I felt so bad seeing him like this..when we used to be, erm, 'special friends', if he was this upset, I'd hold him close by his cute little waist, slide my paws from his hips slowly to his lower back, gently stroke the base of his sheppie tail, which would make him murr loudly and excitedly. At this point, he'd put his arms around my neck and lock his paws behind my head, then arch his back into me, so as to give me better access to his luscious, juicy rear. I'd then look into his beautiful green eyes, and he'd stare back into my brown eyes. We'd both then blush, and I'd lean forward slowly, closing my eyes as I did, and press our lips together softly, both of us blushing even deeper as we kissed. I'd turn my maw, so as to lock jaws with him, deepening the kiss. We'd both murr as we held the kiss for seconds, smacking our lips together, and eventually, I'd move my muzzle back and break the kiss, we'd lick our lips and smile at each other.

"...uhhh, Chriiiis," I heard Jake say, as I was standing on the sidewalk, completely stopped, staring into the sky, my eyes half-open, my muzzle in a stupid grin as I reminisced about Casey and I.

"CHRIS!" Jake finally shouted, clapping his paws in front of my face.

I yipped in surprised, then my eyes opened wide as I chuckled and blushed.

"Ehhehehe..s-sorry, guys," I said with the most innocent face possible, looking over at Casey through the corner of my eye, then having to look away, as it got me blushing once again.

Finally, after an hour walk, we had reached the front door of my house. Since I had just, to put it plainly, embarrassed myself in front of Casey and Jake, I did all but jump out of my skin and rejoice once we once again stood in front of my cozy, comfy home.

Eagerly, I rushed to the door, leaving the other two behind me; they were walking slowly and patiently. I hastily reached for the key in my pocket and pulled It out, fumbling with it in my paws to flip it right-side up. To be honest, I looked like a complete psycho, simply because of the insane want of getting inside that I had at that moment in time. After, at last, getting the key to enter the lock, I quickly turned it, yanked the piece of metal out of the lock, opened the door and rushed inside, almost getting my tail caught in the small crack that was left open.

Luckily, no one was home, so we could have the house to ourselves. Still embarrassed, I darted up all 16 steps, turning the corner to the left quickly and entered my favorite place in the world to be, my room. I sat down on the side of the bed, taking off my shirt slowly, leaving only my jeans on, and of course my boxers underneath.

For about 20 seconds, I sat alone and gathered myself together, trying to figure out how to recover from the incident that had just happened. The only real problem was that I didn't know what to tell them I was thinking about. If I said, 'You, Jake', it would hurt Casey even more, being that he doesn't have a mate. If I were to say, 'You, Casey', it wouldn't matter what the thought was of, just the fact that it was involving someone who could be considered an ex-mate, would be enough to upset him, and badly.

"Hey, Chris? Where are ya, hun?" I could hear Jake shouting, and slowly but surely, I got up from my bed, turned the corner to the right, now, and descended the stairs at a regular speed. I was happily greeted as soon as I got to the bottom of the stairs by a hug.

"What was with the act back there, honey?" Jake questioned. I returned his hug, but then just looked at him for a few seconds. It was painfully obvious that he was a bit worried, so he took my paw and held it.

"You gonna answer me, or...?"

"Oh! Right, sorry, um, it was nothing', don't worry about it.." I told him.

With that, I kissed his cheek, patted his back and let go of his paw, making my way over to the couch, sitting down right next to Casey.

I gently nuzzled him, "C'mon, Case. Where's the sheppie I know? What happened to him, he was never this upset or sulky. Talk to me, Case," I offered, very worried that he may be depressed about losing Garrett. Sullenly, I sighed, then put my arm around his shoulder in a friend-like manner.

He looked at me as Jake approached the couch as well, sitting down right next to me. He took my free paw as soon as he sat; as hastily as he did, I could tell that me giving this attention to Casey was making him jealous. Once again, I felt bad, but I was hoping that he would understand. 'This shepherd is my best friend, I've known him forever, we've been through a lot. How could he get jealous of a friendship?' I thought to myself, then just sighed and looked back at Casey.

After a minute of me nudging him, he looked over at me and sighed, then looked back down, finally speaking.

"I told you already, Chris, I don't want to talk about it now.." he said, quite blunt in his phrasing.

I backed up a bit, my arm still around his shoulders, a little hurt because I thought he would talk to me, of all people, about anything.

"Oh...okay...I understand..." I replied, a little saddened myself.

With that note, Jake tapped my shoulder, the living room quite, and he looked me in the eyes as I turned around to face him.

"Why are you trying so hard, Chris?" he whispered in a worried and jealous tone. I just rolled my eyes in irritation.

"Jake, you can't be serious," I whispered back, almost angrily, "he is my best friend. I've known him more than almost anybody else in my life. I was just thinking this, but I didn't think I'd have to say it; how are you jealous of..of a friendship?"

He took obvious offense to this, although not too much.

"Look, I'm sorry..I'm selfish, yeah..I'll stop.." he whispered, all of that conversation quiet enough to where Casey couldn't hear.

"Thank you, hun," I replied softly, kissing his cheek, although not with as much emotion and love as I used to have. I never thought he'd get jeal...ugh, forget it.

*KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK*

My ears perked up as I glanced over at the door; all three of us did. Jake let go of my paw and strolled over to the door, looking back and saying, "I got it."

He opened the door, and in the doorway stood the hottest...most attractive wolf...that I have ever seen in my life. I couldn't help but stare at him, not noticing that my muzzle was wide open. Casey glanced up at the wolf and smirked a bit, then looked at me.

"That..that your next mate?" I asked Casey eagerly. He shook his head quickly, chuckling.

"No, no, hah. He's a good friend of mine. Why do you ask?" Casey answered.

"He's...he's so CUTE..." I said quietly, only enough for Case to hear.

"C'mon in, then," I heard Jake say, and the wolf entered my house with Jake closing the door behind him.

I quickly pulled myself together before the wolf or JJ returned, so as not to embarrass myself again, or to get in trouble.

"Hey, Brian," Casey said, casually. The wolf smirked, then slapped five with Case, who quickly withdrew his paw into his lap with his other one after the quick greeting. 'Brian, huh? Mmm...damn...he is just...so hot...I don't wanna embarrass myself, though...but...damn...' I thought to myself, but not making it obvious this time.

Brian sat down on the sofa perpendicular to the couch, smirking at Casey. I looked over at him, smiling and completely nervous. He had already shook paws with Jake and learned his name, he came to see Casey, so all that was left was to meet me.

He smirked at me, then offered his paw, blushing. I gasped when I saw him blush, but I had just guessed that he may be shy. I slowly reached out and took his paw. As soon as my paw touched his, we both blushed and got straight faces. I looked into his eyes for a minute, they were a cute blue shade. Our muzzles were open, both of us at a loss for words.

"I-I'm...uhh...C-Chris..." I said, timidly.

"Hey...um...I'm B-Brian..." he answered in the same fashion.

After we shook paws, I quickly looked away and took my paw away, returning my attention to Casey, although now I was sweating nervously a bit and my cheeks were bright red. Apparently, Brian's were too.

Casey had noticed this interaction and smirked, for he knew what it meant when Brian got like that, and also what it meant when I got like that; a crush.
