Part 4 - Re-Introduction
#2 of A Husky's Surprise
**REALLY sorry it took SOO long to put up this chapter..And even SORRIER that its so damn short..Im having a huge amount of writers block..any help would be gladly appriciated**
"OH...MY...GOD," both him and I exclaimed in unison.
I was absolutely stunned by who I was looking at.
"CASEY!" I near-shouted, and he responded with, "CHRIS!"
I couldn't restrain myself from reaching out and embracing him, and apparently he was thinking the same thing. Smiles emerged across both of our muzzles after we let go of each other.
Pulling away from the hug, our muzzles met each other, not in a kiss, just leaving us nose to nose. We both blushed at this, and I pulled back a little further as Casey shot his glance down and flattened his ears nervously.
"How've, uh..how've you been, hun?" he asked me shyly, both of our tails wagging furiously.
"I've been great, Case," I answered, just as enthusiastically, "How bout you?"
"Oh, well, same stuff I've always been up to. Messin' around, havin' lots of fun, of course. Everything I used to do, so I guess you could say, pretty good."
Then, before I forgot, I went ahead and grabbed Jake and I's food, and to Casey, this looked funny.
"Ahh, I see," he started, a slim grin on his muzzle, "either...you've become a bigger eater, or you got a date."
For some odd reason, I blushed and looked down, as if I was embarrassed to have a 'date', if that's what you would say that Jake is to me. Of course with me being absolutely unashamed, I quickly shook it off and looked back up at my old friend.
"Yeah, you could..uh..say that," I began, then with the question I was about to ask, I was hoping I wouldn't strike a nerve or anything, "Don't you have one too, Case?"
"Well, not anymore.." responded Casey, reluctantly. Hearing this, it struck me that maybe asking that wasn't the best idea I'd ever had.
"Oh..," I said nervously, "wanna tell me what happened?" I questioned, offering him a seat at the four-chair table we had approached.
Casey sat down slowly in one chair, seeming a little upset over the query I had just proposed, so for the time being, I decided to sit next to him.
"Garrett and I grew apart, and eventually, I had to end it..," he said sullenly.
"Well, why's that?" I asked, hoping the answer wouldn't bring both of us down too drastically.
"I'd..rather not talk about it right now, Chris.." he answered, almost sounding blunt with the response. Looking over into his eyes, I knew he was saddened by remembering whatever it was, so I put my arm around his neck, in a friendly way, to try and comfort him.
"Hey, I'm back!" called out Jake, returning from his phone call. Must've been a good one, as he returned in a very excited bouncy way.
I removed my arm from Case's shoulder and got up, meeting Jake's muzzle as soon as I did, resulting in a kiss. Sadly, I had to back up a bit, breaking our kiss, for I thought it would be awkward for Casey to see a relationship in motion when he had just been taken out of one.
"I got our food hun, but there's someone I want you to meet," I said cheerfully as I led Jake to the German Shepherd's side.
"Jake, this is Casey, the friend I told you about over at your house. Remember?"
"Oh yeah!" he answered, offering out a paw. Casey accepted the handshake, then I led Jake to the empty side of the table and sat next to him.
"Casey, this is my date...erm..yeah, Jake."
"Very nice to meet ya, Jake," Casey stated, which surprised me, for I only expected him to mumble. I could tell meeting a new friend was what Casey needed, so I thought I would introduce Jake.
After introducing Jake and Case, I thought maybe it would be a good idea to invite him over to my house, too, because that's where Jake and I were going after the mall anyways.
"Casey, wanna come over to my house? Ya know, hang out, catch up?" I proposed, hoping he would agree. He answered with a nod, making it obvious that he was still a little down.
"Well then, let's go," I started, then Jake stopped me, "What about the mall, hun?"
I scratched my head, trying to figure out another time me and Jake could spend some time together at the mall, but didn't stress it too much.
"Nyeh..We'll do it some other time, Jake. I promise, okay?"
"Alright..," responded Jake with a reluctant sigh.
"C'mon, Case, let's go," I said, to which he responded, "Okay, but, uh..my leg fell asleep...um, could you help me up, CJ?" I smirked, happy that he had remembered my nickname, and I was more than happy to oblige. I then walked over to Casey's chair and offered my paw to him, which he accepted quite quickly. It was funny, all this time that we had been apart, I'd forgotten how warm his paws were...and how soft his fur was...but I remembered I was technically with Jake.
That was when I looked in Casey's eyes, and I caught a warm and fuzzy feeling quickly as he gripped my paw even tighter. Noticing that he was blushing quite a bit wasn't too hard, although Jake didn't seem to notice luckily.
I managed to finally help him out of his chair, and he stood up with no problem, which made me curious as to why he said his leg fell asleep.
"Heh...um, so let's go." I said nervously as the three of us walked out of the mall, heading back to my house.
It was kind a awkward walking in the middle of both Jake and Casey, the guy I liked now, and the guy I used to kinda like, but I didn't let it bother me.
