Complex Problems (A Star Fox/Bucky O’Hare crossover fanfic) Chapter 2
Hi everyone, so I've been busy with work and other writing pieces I've been experimenting with so sorry for not uploading anything lately. In this Chapter of Complex problems we see what is happening in the Lylat system while the events of the first chapter are taking place, please be advised that all characters in this episode are owned by Nintendo and this series is based off of the Death Battle episode Fox Mccloud Vs Bucky O'Hare which can be watched by following the link below.
The day started like any other for General Pepper, the usual status reports followed by several meetings about current threats to Corneria and its inhabitants and finally a trip to Beltino’s tech lab to check in and see the newest innovations he had cooked up for the CDF. However as the old Hound dog made his way to the elevator he was stopped in the hall way by a rabbit with a concerned look on his face, the rabbit was none other than Peppy Hare the senior adviser to the famed mercenary band Star Fox and from the expression on his face the good general knew what was on the old rabbit’s mind.
“Peppy, you look like you just saw something you didn’t like. Care to tell me what’s going on in your head or do I have to play twenty questions?” General Pepper asked, he spotted a data pad in the rabbit’s hand.
“I just got word from Krystal, they found what’s been abducting the people on Fichina” the rabbit replied handing the data pad to the General “Part of me wishes I was with them right now seeing as that the next bit of news I got will knock your socks off”
The General began to look over the data on the pad, when he saw the picture that was on the pad he began to scratch his head “What the hell am I looking at?” he asked
“According to Slippy and the others it’s an Interdimensional Mother ship, and that’s not the worst part, the ship has captured Fox and Falco”
The Generals ears began to stand on end (well as on end as they could) when her heard the last part “What?! How did this happen?!” he said almost dropping the pad from shock.

Meanwhile on the Mother ship
After what seemed like an eternity of being prodded and probed by various medical sampling devices (even as far as being forced to give up a seminal sample that bordered on being sexually assaulted) Falco found himself being unceremoniously shoved into a large square cell hitting the floor with a loud thud, ‘what the fuck do these aliens want with me?’ he thought to himself as he lifted himself off the ground rubbing the back if his neck. As his fingers ran up to the base of his skull he noticed a small lump, rubbing it a few times she noticed that something was imbedded in his skin right near his cerebral cortex “shit, what the hell is this thing?!” he said in alarm trying his best to remove it as you would a splinter.
“Don’t bother, it’s wedged in tight and if you do try to remove it you’ll get a massive jolt” came a voice from a shadowy corner of the cell. The brash Avian turned in the direction of the voice, his eyes adjusted enough to see what looked like a hairless ape sitting on the floor with his back to the wall, “besides if you try anything funny they won’t hesitate to shock you into submission”.
“Who are you and what is this place?!” Falco asked trying to keep his cool, this had never happened to him before, hell for all he knew he was on Venom being coerced into giving up valuable intelligence.
“My name is Gabriel Hunter, I’m a human from the planet Earth but that doesn’t matter at the moment” the figure said getting up and walking into the light streaming down from the ceiling. Finally the head strong member of the greatest mercenary band the Lylat system had ever known could see the person he was sharing his cell with, he was about 5’6 with short brown hair and several healing scars around his face, his left eye was blackened and swollen as if he had been in a fight and he looked as though he has recently had his nose broken then reset badly, he wore what look to be some sort of protective body suit with pieces of technology weaved into it.
“Damn, what happened to you? You look like you just escaped a fatal beating” Falco blurted seeing the human’s injuries, the thought that he was going to share this individuals fate passed through his Avian mind sending a chill down his spine.
The human slowly sat down on the only bed in the cell and rubbed his head “what happened to me ties in with the second part of your question, you see, this ship is an Arena ship and you are now the newest gladiator to compete in blood sports for the pleasure of the aliens who run this place” as Gabriel finished talking a console on the far wall chimed followed by a section of the wall sliding out as if it were a tray of some kind.
Falco watched as the human got up and walked over to the tray, moments later the human returned to the bed holding what looked to be an injector of some kind. “Um, what’s that?” he asked warily knowing that his question might provoke a hostile response, “I mean, if you are comfortable in me asking that is”.
Gabriel looked at the Falcon morph holding up the injector “this my feathered friend is medication for my wounds, it helps me heal up for my next fight” he said before smiling “and it’s our ticket to escaping and bring this place down from the inside” and with that he jammed the injector into the back of his neck.

While Falco was being briefed on Gabriel’s plan Fox was being prepped for his first match within the arena itself. Unlike Falco the vulpine was already up to speed with his situation and was wondering who his opponent or should it be said opponents were going to be. He remembered seeing several creatures sitting in what could only be described as cylindrical holding pens however the glass or whatever these creatures used to stop them from getting out seemed to be frosted over so he was unable to see exactly who they were, he was so engrossed in taking in his surroundings that he didn’t realise he was at the pen he was assigned to.
“Combatant, please step onto the platform” a computerised voice instructed, hesitantly Fox looked over at the Drones flanking him on either side, they looked to be some sort of hovering robots that resembled Jellyfish, long appendages that resembled umbilicals snaked their way from the central dome that allowed the robots to hover and move around. He reached for his trusty side arm and was immediately hit with the sensation of having a high voltage discharge shoot through his system causing him to fall to his knees. “Combatant, please step onto the platform” the voice repeated “Failure to comply will result in further punishment” knowing when he was beet for now he slowly got up and moved to the centre of the pen. There was a loud hiss as the pen door was closed behind him, several minutes later the floor of the pen began to rise slowly toward the roof causing the vulpine to stumble a bit, as the platform he was on rose toward the roof of the pen he began to panic, if this was a solid ceiling he was going to be crushed however his fears soon abated as the ceiling (or should it be said the hatch) opened, the door spilling apart in quarters revealing a long shaft.
“Well let’s get this over with” fox said to himself as he readied for combat, he pulled his pistol from its holster, checked its charge and placed it back ready to draw it on a moment’s notice. The next thing he checked was his partible G-diffusers, each one was designed to give the fox the advantage on the battle field and he made sure to get maintenance done on them regularly, with a flick of his wrist he activated the first G-diffuser on his belt causing a blue hexagonal force field to appear, it pulsated for a bit before Fox gave a satisfied grunt of approval, this led to him testing his second G-diffuser his all-purpose jetpack. To be accurate this device as a small pack that acted like a jetpack manipulating his personal gravity to perform two moves that most uneducated people would see as super powers or magic, getting down low into a running pose the brave fox activated the G-diffuser and burst into a sprint and as expected he found himself on the other side of the platform stopping just inches from the shaft wall, he turned and got ready to jump, reacting to this the packs bottom end opened up to reveal a small thruster which began to burn softly as it charged and within the space of a few minutes Fox began to feel himself begin to feel lighter as the G-diffuser did its job in lowering his personal gravitational force, with all his strength he pushed off the platform in the form of a jump, the thruster began to blast out a huge amount of flame as he shot into the air it was by this that the move got the name Fire Fox.
Fox estimated he had jumped over four meters into the air before he landed in the centre of the platform, a reasonable height for a test run and the way the G-diffuses performed was within safe and optimal. Looking up he saw another hatch start to open in much the same manner as the first, as the hatch panels pulled apart a series of bright flood lights field his vision, the light was so bright he had to lift up one of his hands to shield him from the intense bust. This was it, he was only moments away from finding out who or what these aliens were going to pit against him and there was only one option, he had to fight and survive long enough to find a way to escape and link up with Falco where ever he may be then find a way off this ship and alert the rest of his team of his location, he prayed that these “monsters” hadn’t made the decision to dismantle the Arwings they were captured in otherwise they would be in big trouble.

Falco couldn’t believe what was going on, one minute he was talking to Gabriel and trying to make heads or tails of everything the next he was being accosted by a jellyfish drone while another looked over the human now playing possum on the floor of the cell, the injector had been jammed in so far it had most certainly given reason for the drones to do an in depth bio-scan. It seemed like an eternity before the drone had finished its analysis and had begun to extract the injector letting its guard down, that’s when Gabriel struck, his arm arced up and came to rest on the central disk right where the drone’s optic sensors sat then smiled, the clothes the human was wearing changed shape converting into a set of power armor, the arm that was now firmly pressed against the drones “face” was soon encased in a large gun seconds later a massive bolt of Plasma ripped through the drone’s chasse. The drone was thrown against the far wall taking the injector and the device that was imbedded in, Falco gasped as he got the first look at the device that was most likely placed inside him as well, it looked like a metallic square on all sides of the square were small pin like structures that seemed to squirm as if it were an insect that had been impaled while it was still alive. The Drone that was covering Falco tuned away and tried to subdue the human however it was not fast enough and fell to a hail of plasma bolts, the Avian mercenary walked as calmly as he could over to where the wreckage of the first drone lay and began to study it closely.
“Now that’s out of the way let’s get that shock chip out of you” the human said walking over to the wreckage, he reached into the large rent left by the plasma bolt and began to rummage occasionally pulling out an assortment of wires, fibrotic cables and strange looking circuit boards till he grabbed something that was firmly imbedded inside, after a few tugs he turned to Falco “um, mind giving me a little hand?” he asked.
Nodding Falco reached into the inner workings of the drone and grabbed hold of the object Gabriel was attempting to extract. Working together the Avian and the Human pulled as hard as they could, there was a loud crack as mettle brackets gave way and the two were flung backwards onto the floor, Falco looked up to see he was holding a cylindrical object the size of a large spray deodorant can, however before he could get a better look at it Gabriel took it from him, “hey what’s the big?! GAHHHHHHH!” a burst of pain shot through him as something sharp was inserted into his neck, moments later he felt something being removed while at the same time the sensation of having his skin and feathers simultaneously being fused together and regrown at an accelerated rate, the sensation only lasted for a few minutes but it was the weirdest feeling he had felt in ages.
“How do you feel?” Gabriel asked as the now bewildered Falco, the Avian rubbed the back of his neck where the shock chip had been inspecting the damage only to find no scaring what so ever, he turned to face the Human who smiled back at him, “care to watch you chip be disposed of?”
Falco’s eyes fixated on the Cylinder, it had split apart revealing what could only be described as a test tube connected to an injector assembly filled with a glowing green goo. The chip could be seen floating around inside like a leaf caught in a whirlpool, Falco watched in amazement as the chip then began to dissolve and become one with the goo at which point the cylinder snapped shut. “So that Doohickie both places the chip into a person and also extracts them as well? Impressive, now we have a chance to get out of here right?” the Avian asked as he took the device from Gabriel’s hand and began to work on the damage left by the more violent extraction that had been conducted on him, holding the cylinder above the open wound the Avian watched as the device prayed the site with the same green liquid that was inside the test tube, with in minutes the wound began to knit back together as if it were regenerating, “wow, you don’t see that every day” he said out loud admiring how fast it worked.
The human rubbed his neck then turned to Falco, “Yes and as you saw it also heals just like the injector over there but it doesn’t fix broken bones, or broken noses for that matter” he got up and walked to the cells open door. Falco followed Gabriel’s lead not knowing what lay beyond but it was his only way to find Fox and get out of this mad house, the only thing he wished was that he still had his..... he stopped in his tracks as his hand fell to his hulster furmly attached to the belt around his waise, looking down Falco realised that these aliens were dumber then he thought as they didn’t relieve him of his pistol. The human looked back at the Avian and smiled “let’s find a way to bust everyone out of this place shall we?” he asked as he turned to his right and bolted down the corridor, Falco nodded and ran after the human making sure that there were no more hostiles in the area.
