ARRROOOOOOOOOOOO--!!!!!

A ear-piercing howl shattered the quiet evening. A chill ran up Daniel's spine; his

heart began to race in his chest. The young man's eyes darted into the darkness around him

as he quickened his pace. What begun as an evening stroll through the park was becoming

something a bit more...haunting. Daniel wasn't sure what sort of creature could have made

that howl, and he didn't want to stick around to find out. His senses were on high alert;

every twig-snap, every rustle in the bushes, every movement among the trees, was enough

to get his mind to expect the worse. Any minute, some enormous devilish creature will

come barreling right for him, he was sure of it; he had to make it back to his car!

The full moon illuminated a fair amount of the park, but the outer edge of trees

created a thick blanket of darkness. Unfortunately for Daniel, that's right where he had to

go. The warm glow of the streetlights slowly faded as Daniel stepped off the main path.

Why oh why did he decide to park his car on that side of the park?

With a tap, the light on his phone clicked on. A worried and frightened Daniel

cautiously stepped into the darkness. The world around him seemed to go quiet. There was

an eerie stillness to the wildlife. No chirps of crickets, no squeaks of bats, no movements in

the bushes; only the sounds of his footsteps and his breathing. The silence of the night was

then abruptly interrupted by another bloodcurdling howl. In his surprise, Daniel's phone

slipped from his hand, dropping to the dirt with a thud. The light went dead. Daniel

panicked, dropping to his knees and frantically sliding his hands through the dirt to find his

phone. That's when his hand bumped into something furry.

Daniel reeled back and looked up. His heart skipped a beat.

There, standing on its two hind legs, was a large wolf-like creature with glowing red

eyes. A wicked smile slowly emerged on its muzzle. It smirked as Daniel fell back, legs

trembling. I-Is this where it ends? Here in the woods, alone? Daniel's mind raced as the

hunched-over creature stood up and lifted its large paws. Even in the dim light coming from

its eyes Daniel could see the massive black claws the adorned the creature's white paws. He

had to do something, he had to get away! With a sudden boost of adrenaline, Daniel

scrambled to his feet and ran. He could hear the wolf let out another howl before giving

chase.

It was almost too dark to see where he was going, but Daniel couldn't risk stopping.

He wasn't quite sure what was chasing him, but he could hear it right behind him. The thick

maze of trees seemed to stretch on endlessly ahead. The immense physical stress of this

whole ordeal was starting to catch up with Daniel-- as was the beast behind him. Over the

loud thuds of his own panicked steps he could hear the soft drumbeat of paws gaining on

him. Daniel wasn't sure how long he'd be able to keep this up. As panic began to seep into

his thoughts, that's when he spotted it: the clearing, only a few hundred feet ahead. He

was almost there! Freedom! Safety! There was no guarantee that the beast would stop its

pursuit, but he didn't care, he just wanted to be out of the woods!

The light was growing stronger and stronger as Daniel inched closer and closer to the

edge. He was so close! Daniel sprinted as fast as he could. His legs hurt, his chest ached, he

felt like he could collapse at any moment. The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end as

he heard the beast chuckle behind him. There it was, the exit! He made it, he fin---!!

A searing pain from behind caused Daniel to stumble and fall. The wolf stopped at

the edge of the woods as Daniel rolled into the moonlight; claw marks torn into the back of

his shirt.

Groaning from the impact, Daniel rolled onto his side and shakily got on his hands

and knees. Glancing back toward the woods he saw the piercing red-glowing eyes staring at

him. His entire body burned and ached; he glanced back toward his car and tried standing.

Why did the wolf stop? W-Why did he-...h-he....

Daniel's legs trembled. Pain and heat radiated out from his back wound. Whimpering,

he fell to his knees. Beads of sweat began to form on his brow. Daniel's skin burned as he

sat there in the grass with the wolf-creature watching on. The heat was unbearable. Daniel

fell forward onto his hands, panting and groaning loudly as his body itched all over. His

fingernails dug into the soft grass; ripping blades out as he gritted his teeth. S-Something

wasn't right, something was definitely not right--

The incessant burning sensation all over his body was getting to him. Daniel

scratched at his sides, trying to quell the feeling. When he reached his arms, he froze. His

blood ran cold as he felt hair. A lot of hair. Mouth agape, he held out his arms in front of

him. There he saw it, illuminated by the glow of the moon's light: fur. White fur. The

patches of white fur quickly morphed together as it spread up and down his arms

simultaneously. The white turned to a deep red near his elbows; inching toward his body.

'T-This can't be real! I-I-I c-can't be..b-be g-growing f-fu-fur---!!'

Daniel's thoughts were cut short by an immense pressure in his face. With a grunt and

a quiet whimper, Daniel raised a trembling, fur-covered hand to his face. The pressure gave

way, and with a CRACK, Daniel's jaw began to push out in front of him. Yelping, he braced

himself on the grass. Daniel could only gasp and groan as his mouth began to push further

and further from his head; sharp, bright-white teeth replacing the somewhat dull teeth he

once had. Daniel dug his claws into the dirt and looked back toward the woods; the wolflike

creature just stood there, quietly watching, a grin across its muzzle.

It was his fault! He was causing this! He's responsible!

Daniel growled in the direction of the wolf and felt a pang of despair shoot through

him as the sounds of his very inhuman vocalizations reached his twisted ears. He raised his

large white paws and covered his face. His padded, claw-tipped paws felt his cool black

nose. 'This couldn't be real, this can't be happening!'

Daniel let out a very canine-like whine as his ears shifted. Pointing, they both grew

taller; growing red fur with a black chevron tip before flopping over on themselves. The red

fur began to march over his face, turning white around his eyes and mouth. Inch by inch,

his skin becoming one with his growing fur coat. It felt like tens of thousands of needles

were poking out of his sides and back. Daniel could only whine and itch; his large, sharp

claws tearing the fabric of his clothes piece by piece. The fur wound its way over his

stomach, down his hips, legs, and into his shoes. His feet, misshapen from changes of their

own, ached as his ankles rose out uncomfortably from his sneakers. Daniel's ears perked up

a bit at the sound of his shoes and socks splitting on end; white fur and thick black claws

poked out of the holes. As his red and white-furred body was let out from its cloth-prison,

Daniel panted happily. Long canine tongue dangled out of his inhuman maw. Oh, how good

it felt to free himself of--- n-no! T-This...isn't...w-wasn't...was it..?

Daniel's maw twitched into a small grin. The brown hair that sat atop his skull began

to lengthen; growing longer and longer into several tips. The largest of the tips began to

turn a brown while the rest turned snow white. His hair continued to grow; forming a sort

of mane down his neck and over his shoulders. Daniel sat with a grin, happily panting as his

hair dangled down over his face and stretched the collar of his shirt. He moved a large paw

to his chest and ripped away his what remained of his shirt; freeing his furry chest. The

ends of his mane wrapped onto his chest; turning black in four points.

P-Pl..please...-t-this...isn't...mm-m...me...n-no...t-this...is me...

Daniel shakily stood on his new hind legs; tattered pants falling to his paws. He

kicked his torn shoes away, looking down at himself as his short, fluff-tail began to wag.

The power, the strength he felt was so...so...freeing. So...natural.

...w-w..what...a-am...I...? T-This...f....fee-....feels....so...goooood!

Daniel's thoughts drifted. Why was he fighting this? This feels so good, so right.

Finally, Daniel's eyes began to turn a dull red. His once brown eyes began to glow as they

turned red in their entirety. The very same hue as the pair watching him the whole time.

With this final change, Daniel lost all resemblance to his former self. He was a Lycanroc.

And not just any Lycanroc: a damn fine Lycanroc!

The changed wolf-boy raised his maw to the sky and howled. The other Lycanroc

joined in; the pair howled for a solid few minutes before Daniel turned toward the Pokemon

waiting in the woods. They locked eyes, and a wicked smile grew onto Daniel's own maw.

Leaving his clothes behind, Daniel walked into the woods with his new friend. The pair of

wolves dashed into the darkness. The night was still young for the two wolf Pokemon to

have some fun. As they disappeared into the woods, their howls pierced the night sky.

Oh, what a time to be alive!
