PREVIEW- Flamefeathers - The Beach
Alcmene Ebonwing is very far along in her pregnancy. And she's tired. Not exhausted or fatigued. She's tired of being hounded constantly. The Healers will not give her a moment to herself! She understands why, but after what happened to her sister Amphinome, she just wants some time to herself.
Time to think. Time to feel. Time to find herself. So it's no surprise when her quiet little walk on the beach is interrupted.

The sand gave way beneath her bare feet, allowing her to sink into the soft, wet beach with every step. She stared down at the pristine, smooth sand stretched out before her, smiling to herself at the anticipation of feeling it squish between her toes. She looked back at the trail already washed away by the surf. She felt alone, at peace without the healers hovering over her.
Not that she was ever alone anymore. Nor that the healers didn't have a good reason for wanting to keep an eye on her.
Alcmene's eyes dropped to the enormous swell of her belly obscuring her view of her feet. She was far larger than was comfortable! Not that she'd heard pregnancy was comfortable, but this was much, much worse. She was thankful that at least in this moment, the foal seemed to be sleeping. When he got to moving, the pressure and kicks against her insides and bones were almost agonizing.
She lifted her hands, gently caressing the pale flesh stretched out before her. She didn't have any dresses or gowns large enough to hide the product of her rape at the hands of the centaur tribe. Part of her was glad for that. She had a reminder now of the dangers of charging into a situation without taking a minute to think about the repercussions. She could cover herself with a loose skirt or trousers and cover her top with a tiny little tunic, or a cloak fastened shut just below her laden breast as she had now, but that swell was always there, reminding her to be mindful of the future and the consequence of every action.
Her eyes closed slowly as tears welled up, blurring her vision. Her hands balled and she pushed down the urge to beat her fists against her globe. It was not the child's fault. It was Nessus. He forced himself into her, forced her to endure hours of agony. He forced his foal into her belly and her sister's. He took Amphinome away from her.
They had arrived moments apart back to the Doujin after their escape from the centaurs. They clutched at each other's swollen bodies. They wept into one another's hair. Then they began to heal.
At least, Alcmene did. Amphinome never truly recovered from her ordeal. Then again, neither did Alcmene, but in an entirely different fashion. While she was both terrified of the memory of what happened, she was irrationally attracted to large phalluses and the equine physiology. Horses were suddenly an object of erotic desire to her, and their penises… she quivered just at the thought of one.
Her sister screamed, sobbing in terror whenever she beheld anything horse related. She would collapse into a shaking mass, shrieking and howling as she relived her ceaseless weeks of rape. Then one day she didn't come down to breakfast. They found Amphinome in a bed of blood, a dagger clutched loosely in one hand and dozens of stab wounds in her belly. For the first time since they'd gotten back, Alcmene had thought her sister looked at peace.
Giving a heavy sigh, Alcmene forced her eyes open and blinked away the tears. She would miss her sister until the day she joined her in the Celestial. Her big sister had always been her rock, her strong place she could depend on growing up, but even the strongest foundation cracked under too much pressure.
She had to stop as a sudden shift in her belly nearly pitched her off balance. She spread her wings out behind her and took a step back, shifting her center of gravity as quickly as she could so she wouldn't tumble into the sand. She watched her flesh roll, straining against the outline of a faint little horse leg shifting and adjusting to roll the child within slowly to one side.
When her tummy was still again, she felt a smile spread over her lips and let her gentle palm glide over the nearly invisible outline atop her swell. “All settled now?" She cooed. “You nearly pitched mommy to the ground! Neither one of us would have been very happy if you made me fall on you!"
As if he could understand, Alcmene felt the child shift ever so slightly on the bottom of her belly as he shifted his head more toward her groin. She moaned softly at the magical feeling of life moving against her from the inside. There was nothing quite like it she'd ever experienced before. Not even a big ol'-…
She clamped her eyes shut and shook her head. Musn't let herself devolve into trying to frig herself on the beach now! She was getting so good at thinking like a Warden again, plunging her hand into her trousers to diddle away was a step in the wrong direction!
“Why aren't you in the tower!?" an angry voice called to her from behind.
She sighed heavily and rolled her eyes. The healers found her, finally. Took them long enough. Then again, she was careful to walk in the surf where her footprints would be erased quickly enough. Slowly, she turned herself around and folded her wings along her back once again.
It wasn't one of the Wardens in their white robes coming to scold her, but a familiar face upon a young human body wrapped in flowing purple robes.
“Manawyhn!" she cried and tried to lurch toward him with her arms spread to either side. She instantly regretted it. Her center of gravity pitched forward and her eyes widened. She stumbled two steps, then three. She clutched at her belly, as if to pick it up before she dropped it to the ground.
The young male's strong hands grabbed her shoulders and helped her to regain her balance. “This is exactly why you shouldn't be out here by yourself!" he scolded. “You could fall and hurt yourself and no one would ever find you!"
She felt heat rise in her pale cheeks and was sure they were turning a nice, rosy color. “But I'm not alone. You're here with me."
